Hi
I have a family DVD I want to rip and play on the Nike. Is there a program that makes this easy and what codec should I put the file in to be able to play it?
Thanks
DT

http://tcpmp.corecodec.org/about
or
make your movies into freaky special ms formats like wmv or something to make media player play them
Hi there.
WMV for PPC is not that good. Why don't you try this one:
http://divx.ppccool.com/ -- The very easy to use Encoder for all kinds of formats.
http://tcpmp.corecodec.org/download -- The Code Pocket Media Player wich is fast enough to play high quality movies with high quality Sound. I was really impressed by both of these tools!
Have Fun,
Timo
EDIT, ah I'm sorry. Rudegar allready told you about the player... But use the encoder. Nothing is more intuitive than that
Hi Mcnugget
Thanks for your reply, but what do I do next...sorry im a bit thick
steve
normaly exe files are have to be run in windows and they autoinstall the pda program to the pda next time you sync
cab files are run on the pda where they autoinstall
both paths should result in an icon in programs which start the program
then you choose files and browse to where your movie is
then you click on the movie file and it plays

hey mates,
i normally get my movies from OTR.
normally, i get the HQ-files, of course, of the HighQuality
these have the following codec, detals, etc:
Audio: mpga, stereo, 48000Hz, 192kb/s
Video: H264, 720x576, 25 fps
afaik, the hd2 is h264 capable, am i right?
but badly, i cant play those files..tcpmp only plays 1 second and then stops..sense and wmp cant open them...
any hint?
i know i can convert them to mp4, but shouldnt it be possible to play those avi's?

Whats OTR?
You could try Coreplayer but it's not free.
thought tcpmp and coreplayer are nearly the same?
otr is onlinetvrecorder.

If you can upload a sample to mediafire or something (make it small though ) and then PM me the link will check if it works on Coreplayer for you and then you can decided whether or not to purchase Coreplayer.
PlaY all formats of videos/movies using TCPMP without any problems. Just ensure that you go to settings on click on format that you want to play if not already set.
atm i'm on holiday...
i'll upload a sample when i'm home again
thanks for your help mates.

I use Rock Player to play movies when I am traveling. It support different formats not just mp4 which is supported by X10 natively...
~Thanks~ Do I need to download it? I really dont't know what I' doing. My ipod is magic it does it all for me but it's not a phone so its not always with me.

Just purchase the app in the market and put the movies on your SD card. You can drag and drop. It is just as simple as using iTunes, if not more simple because iTunes is prohibitive and not very user friendly.
If you're watching movies at home you can use VLC Stream and Convert. It encodes movies on your computer and transfers them. Until the X10 has native DNLA support this is the next best option. Perhaps it may be even better because anything you can decode on the computer is virtually what you can watch on the X10, other than Real Media encoded files in my experience. Haven't contacted the developer (TravelDevel - very awesome developer), so it could just be the codecs on my computer. Not too sure.. (video works, sound doesn't)
Sorted. Thanks to all for your help
I use SuperC to convert anything I'm putting on, that way you know it will play and can resize to fit the screen perfectly.
http://handbrake.fr/downloads.php
Handbrake is pretty sweet for ripping dvds, too
It produces mp4 files which can then be watched with the shipped player

You're welcome! Nice to hear you have sorted it out...
I use xilisoft video convertor to convert my movies from my K750i - W800i - PSP - W960i - X10i days.
Still like using it.
I think whichever softwares you use, as long as you get the configurations right and save to mp4, it should be all right~
I've downloaded the handbrake as recomended but I'm unable to get it to rip any DVDs. All I'm getting after scanning is a black blank box and nothing else. Can anybody help or recomend any other free software I can use. I have got aura dvd ripper pro which I downloaded to use for my kids arcos 405 but the audio track is always around 5 seconds behind the picture.
Where am I going wrong? You guy's all seem to have it sorted. I spend a lot of time in hospital and would so like to rip my films and put them on my X10 so I can watch them when I'm away.
Has any of you cleaver lot got any goo ideas onhow I should proceed??
Sorry for hijacking, which format is best suited for X10 when I convert with handbrake ?
Picture size, file format.. ?
I have an xbox 360 and I am trying to play HD videos I have recored with my X10 with 2.1. I know that the video codec is supported but for some reason the mp4 will not play on the xbox. Does anyone know of a solution to convert mp4 to play on the X10. Linux preferred but any solution would help. Thanks
any video converter will work i guess (i use Xilisoft)
alternate solution: get a PS3
I know I need a converter but I already know the video codec is supported. It would be a waste of time and energy to transcode the video if I don't have to. I was looking for help in the direction of using ffmpeg or mencoder to change the audio and the container into something playable on the xbox 360.
if you mean the direction to audioconvert in linux, you'd better go to http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=82806&highlight=audio-convert
does anyone playback their X10 videos on their XBOX 360?
