Patched a new gene (8) by the old official firmware. Gene is died. Can I restore it?

There was a thread about J Tag, just search for it, I am not sure of the exact link.
It was probably in the Gene forum, not Gene Upgrading forum.

try flashing one more time with the official rom....
Avoid flash with an official rom. Those roms contains IPL/SPL and will brick your device.

I try a few weeks ago upgrade my Spv m600 to WM6, to put gullum touch rom, but the upgrading wasn't been sucessfuly.
waht happens was i upgrade the rom without CID unlock, a check later the model was a G4, and now my phone freeze on first screen. I try change the rom like wiki explain, put a NovenderID rom, the original orange uk rom was on ftp of xda, but nothing can solve my problem!
So a open this new thread, for ask if someone have the official Orange UK rom for prophet, without that rom i can't repair my phone!

How about the PVtemp rom? same result?
please have a look in my thread ( @ my signature )
You can take a look in 4shared, and search for
PROPHET_ORANGE_UK_ROM.zip
maybe you have to put your prophet in bootloader (search XDA if you don't know how) and flash in the old way
hope you cab fix it

Yha, i try PVtemp, but when instalation was complete and phone restart, that will freeze on first screen!
I will try the original rom from orange link given by humrod.

Could it be the radio rom that is preventing my gene to access my phone operator? cause the name of the rom says:
RUU_Gene_hTC_Asia_India_1.17.720.1_4.1.13.34_02.79 .90_Ship
So its radio rom version 02.79.90 right? for asia and india?
I think i just need a new radio rom that will work in europe (portugal) or an original rom that contains a radio rom.
So if anyone has any, can please share it here? or anyone that could kindly dump an original rom?

Open the bk_06_0001.img in the notepad and search for this string: "bootloader version" (without quotes)
When you find it, on "Built on" check date. If your date is < march 26 2008 then you have an old gene. If your date is >= march 26 2008 then you have a new gene.
Sorry for any problem that the old method has caused.
With this method is more secure to determine wich model you have.

Please add it as exception to ur method of determining gene status

This test was not made by me. I used it to know the model of my gene and it worked. So I re-posted it here.
But if your device has the serial HT8xxx and already came with the WM6 most likely it would be a new gene. The test would not be necessary.
Could you send me your bk_06_0001.img. I want to analyse it.

my phone is 8XXX slno and while i did the HSPL (thanks to help from Krazy) i found out that even though my phone was around 7 mths old came with WM6 and p3400i it turned out to be old gene so is suggest( i have also posted a thread on the same in this forum) so kindly dont assume new or old gene by ur nos u need to test with ramersnows testers or use Krays stiky and do the what it says it also has all the tools

this ONBL 1.17.0000,SPL 1.17.0000,GSM 02.79.90, OS 1.17.0.0 does not mean u have new gene i have the same but mine was found out to be a old one min also had WM6 preloaded and it was p3400i
but Krazys numbers were also the same but his came out as a new gene
so use ramersonw s tester and also read sumits stiky do it word for word it also has the tools do try all of the above before proceeding
and yes pls pls take help from the pros

sorry as this has been discussed on forum but i have had dumped my old rom wm5 from my new gene..and i want to downgrade to it from sumit pro user rom...plz tell me if any danger and how can i do it>help

Even though you have dumped this ROM urself, check the ROM with HTC RIE that it doesn't have the IPL, SPL and GSM parts. If any of these present, delete them and save the ROM. This will make the ROM safe for flashing.
BUt there is one more concern. I dont know whether the Orefkov or Olipro's SPL allows WM 5 flashing. Thats something you'll have to find out from someone else.

I owned an old gene p3400, which was working fine.later on I updated the gene from wm5 to wm 6.1 using these forum. thanks a lot for that.
recently, after updating the gene, after about 4 months, suudenly this is showing only tricolor screen. I had tried to reflash the ROM and used the entire threads for searching the appropriate solution, but all in vein.
now I am not having access to memory card or file explorer of the gene to use olipro method to flash not orefkov method as it is not working after mtty application.
any one can help me to come out from this??
