I'm looking for a Micro SD card for my Wing. Naturally I want the biggest card possible. I found a website that has a few card by different manufacturers, and all at different prices. Is there really a difference? Does SanDisk really make a better product than A-Data? It appears they want me to think so since they charge $20 more for their 2GB card.
I got a 1GB Kinston microSD and a 2GB SanDisk microSD. I have no problems with both cards in my XDA. Smooth and reliable, so far. The only problem a encountered so far is that I can't get my 2GB microSD card to work on my PCs. It just won't read and formating doesn't work either, but as I said I have no trouble using them in my XDA.
The 2GB A-Data microSD works well with the Herald. I got the one that's packaged with a USB "microReader" since the phone only does USB 1.1. With the reader attached to my keychain, this 2GB card also doubles as portable memory.

I got the 2GB ADATA from NewEgg and it works just fine in the Herald. Using the included SD adapter, and I can read it in my Toshiba notebook's built-in SD reader. No complaints whatsoever.
i bought my kingston 2gb micro sd from buy.com for $15 before shipping.
I bought a Transcend 2GB MicroSD from newegg.com for $26 w/ s+h and it works great on my Wing. It also comes with adapters for standard SD and MiniSD.
And you have seen this?

The Wing is SD 2.0 compliant, so it can work with SD HC cards up to 32 gigs. You can buy a 4 GB SD card, although it will cost around $100-$200.

I purchased a Kingston 32 gb class 6 micro sd card for my phone. I began to copy over the contents of my current card, but im at work and had to step out. I told a coworker that if they also had to leave to please just close the screen of my netbook so that its contents would be secure, hoping that it would have finished copying. It was not finished and the screen was closed putting the netbook into standby. When I returned and turned the comp back on the copy progress screen was blank and just all white as was the window depicting the contents of the card. I had to restart the computer as after 15 min nothing had changed. Now the card is not recognized. I checked it in my phone and computer and it says no disk is present. I put it in the sd adapter and try to format and my computer says there is no disk. I am at a loss?? I just got this freakin card and for a great deal that ill never find again especially for a class 6! Does any one have any ideas for me to try?? I know that its not entirely related to X10's but I can't seem to find any other avenues for help. I would like to not right this card off
Any help is sincerely appreciated
Did ya get it off ebay by any chance? Didn't think class 6 32 gb cards existed yet. I've had 2 off ebay (class not stated) and they both turned out to b hacked 2 gb 1s, they were both "good deals" a bit too good! Got a refund for em both so got 2 2gb cards for free
If it was from ebay at a great deal price... you're screwed... bought one myself only to find out it was a dupe... never got my money back

Transcend , Sandisk makes one, Nokia has one, not sure who makes it. I have had this problem before.. you have to low level format it and it will be fine. any questions just ask.
I am thinking of getting a 32 gb class 6 from ebay as well. Hope I have better luck
I bought one from ebay a couple weeks ago for like 13 dollars and it arrived today. Just popped it in the phone and its saying 31.24 gb.
It's a kingston card. I'll try copying some stuff over and see how it goes.
EDIT. Copying my 11 gb of music over writing at 3.5 MB/s
Class was not stated when I bought mine. I just figured for 13 bucks i'll take the chance.

Exactly
Yeah I started to transfer things to mine and after about 7 GB it wouldn't allow anymore on the card. Trying to format it, it was taking hours. Knew it was too good to be true.

Kingston has 32gb Sdhc micro cards, they are new.
the estimated price is around 110 dollars.
If you buy a card for 20 bucks at ebay you realy wonder why its a fake?
lets hope the price will fall fast
im gonna buy mine in a store not at ebay. Quality->Price
I think there is no support on the x10 for 32gb sd card yet. You also need an opptinal uppdate from windows update to read 32gb cards. And remeber its not sd carts you need to use its micro sdhc cards ;-)

FWIW, I have a Kingston class 4 32GB, it also works fine on 1.6 I have 5,000 songs with album art on it as well as things like the language modules from Swiftkey, etc and still have 2gb free.
I have had a 32gb micro sd sandisk for about 3 months now, no problems to report (UK) purchased online from Carphone Warehouse. Only issue is whereas android shows roughly 3gb storage free, when using mediascape to transfer music, it only shows 120mb of storage remaining - bummer
Caution on eBay sellers & Get a SDHC READER!

THERE ARE NO TRUE CLASS 6 32G micro SDHC cards.
And as a caution, here's a FAKE card marked Class 6 (and confirmed as fake by Kingston USA). I was lucky and got my money back when the seller was confronted (and is still selling these on eBay). The photo below is a FAKE card. Kingston's 32G is a class 4. Lexar's 32G is a class 10. The Lexar IS faster writing at 8-10mb while the Kingston writes at about 4mb; I have both Kingston and Lexar 32G.
NewEgg is a licensed reseller, you can get a nice 32GB card under $100 with a USB flash reader for it such as Kingston's MRG2+SDC4/32GB. I keep the usb reader on my keychain. You need a reader because these cards are NOT compatible with most older slot readers even when you put them in an adaptor for SD or M-Stick.
NEVER FORMAT IN WINDOWS!!!!! You may ruin the card's usefulness forever.
Windows will add cryptographic junk which is NOT compatible with Android. If you MUST format in windows go to the SD Consortium and get their format software http://www.sdcard.org/consumers/formatter/

Interesting discussion here.

Becareful buying micro sd cards on Ebay. I got scammed a few months ago. Bought a 32gb micro sd class 10 card for what I thought was a very good price. When I hooked it up to my computer with an usb adaptor it was recognized and showed 32gb in size. When I tried to move a large file (10Gig) it said "no disk space". It turned out to be an 8gb micro sd card labeled as a 32gb card. They installed a program in the micro sd card to show 32gb when you open it up in your computer. I got my money back through my credit card company and I emailed other buyers who bought them from this seller. Funny thing is everyone else thought it was fine and left good feedback for that seller until they tried adding more than 8gb into the card. I would stick with buying stuff like micro sd cards, usb flash drives, etc on Amazon, Newegg, or Frys. Its not worth trying to save $10-$20 or more on a $80 microsd card from Amazon.
Oh yeah I just read the feedback on one seller of the Memorette 32gb Micro SD SDHC CLASS 10 and I read a few "DOA", "not as advertised but refunded", "my computer can't read it". The rest who are happy probably didn't even try putting 30gb of data on the card yet. Again buyer beware.

i have tried the same thing, and the problem is not many is testing the cards.. i bught 3 class 6 before i got the real class 6 card, got my money back the other to times thow, but when buying from ebay always test the card as the first, there are many cheaters out there.
and yaa again the funny thing was that many said this was good, so i pick out 2 or 3 guys and ask them to try it, and guess what, they were cheated as well they just didnt knew it..
Do we know what maximum speeds the TF is capable of? I just read that thread posted so it got me wondering if its worth buying a class 10 card or not. I tried looking online but didn't really see anything about it. Is it safe to assume then that a class 10 will perform to its maximum when used in the TF?
Make sure you test the capacity of your micro sd card. Too many scams on memory cards from China. They will use a smaller capacity memory card and install a program in it to make it look bigger than it is. They use 8gb cards to make it look like it is 32gb. When you get your memory cards test it by adding large files to capacity.
Read the feedback left by a buyer. Many leave feedback before testing out their fake 32gb microsd cards LOL.
By my test it's a class 5, but the buyer is really good and fast!!! NICE EBAYER Member id davidegatto ( Feedback Score Of 62) Apr-22-11 02:50

For stuff like that, it's better to buy from a reputable vendor.
I got a 16GB class 6 card off of Amazon a little while ago to use in my Nook Color. I'll be using it in the TF. 16GB will be plenty of storage for me. Maybe when 32GB cards are a bit cheaper...
Sucks that tablets didn't go with full size SD card slots. I'd have much preferred that. 32GB SDHC cards aren't that expensive.

I hear you! a SDHC slot doesn't take up THAT much room. It's a shame they only included it in the keyboard dock I don't always want to carry around my dock with me
Also as a photographer, it's kind of a shame to not be able to plug in my camera's SDHC card directly into the tablet to view the pictures
Seen a fair bit about fake cards. Just as well I have paid through paypal using my credit card just in case.

MicroSD's aren't fast enough Slow SD cards really limit how many shots you can take in a row. I tend to do a lot of burst RAW shots and if the SD card isn't fast enough, the buffer will fill up too quickly
what class of SD are you using? People are purchasing class 10 microSDs to use with the transformers at reasonable prices.. still not fast enough?

30MB/s corresponds with a "Class 30" The class rating is just the guaranteed minimum speed in MB/s
No no no no never use memorette. I did, got a 32g card for 50 bucks. Put it in my mac to transfer 25g of stuff. Stopped unexpectedly after 20, after that it won't be recognized by either my imac or my phone, won't even allow me to format using terminal in the mac. Beware! U can get sandisk class 4 for 75 on amazon, it works pretty fast. I used it.

To anyone out there that has used Micro SD Cards....
1) First of all, I know the A101IT supports SDHC Micro SD Cards but does it support any 32GB Micro SD Cards at all??
(All the 32GB Micro SD Cards I've seen show the SDHC written label on them).
2) If the A101IT does support the 32GB Micro SD Card, what manufacturer brands along with their Class #'s have been found to work when tested with data and media in upwards of 16GBs in this case.
(I.E. - SanDisk 8GB Class 4/... Works for me on my A101IT).
Reason:
I want to put my Band of Brothers HBO TV Show Series (7.20GBs), True Blood HBO TV Show Series (19.3GBs), about 1-2GBs of music, a couple DVD Movies, and finally leave the few remaining space on the card for Market Apps and put ALL this ^ on 1 card because I don't like always carrying around my external portable 500 GB HDD. I have an 8GB Micro SD Card and I need more space on it so please advise of bigger and better cards. Thanks!
In other news:
From sources I found on Yahoo and Google, I read that SanDisk is in the development stage of working on a 128GB Micro SDXC Card for mobile devices AND a 128GB SDXC Flash Card for devices like digital cameras to which both will reportedly be available by the end of 2011. Reports show that for the 128GB Standard SDXC Card at 133x speed made by Lexar is roughly $700 and the 128GB SDXC Flash Card at 100x speed made by SanDisk is $1500! So if the below configuration of HC/XC is what SD says it is then in the coming years we should see a 2TB Standard SDXC card for like $5000 and a 2TB Micro SDXC Card for like $10,000?! Then fast forward and imagine about 30 years from now where we would have a double-sided Micro SDXC Card with like 6TBs total (3TB on each side) as the total amount of space on the card and costing like $20,000?! ... Yay, can't wait... *(sarcastically).*
SDHC: 4 GB to 32 GB
SDXC: >32 GB to 2 TB
Yes the Archos can handle any non fake 32GB microsd's.
I specifically say non fake because if you buy them cheap it might be one that doesn't really hold the data ( had one given to me that was fake ).
And for the price of the SDXC Crads.
I bought a 540MB harddrive for DM1500 in 1990, because i needed the space then.
About 1 year later it was around DM500.
Now you get 1TB for €50.
And with this its the same, when they produce more, price will drop dramatically.
Well I got 2 different 32GB Micro SD Cards. One is by Kingston at a Class 4 & the other by a no-named company because there is no name on it and that one is at a Class 6. I formatted each to NTFS, FAT32, AND extFAT and absolutely none of it works like it should. For each card I put like 6 GBs on them and loaded them back into my A101IT and only part of the stuff comes up that I transferred to it like my folder of strickly .apk's, a few but not all of my documents, and the folder I made for the Swap Files from another thread here on XDA. Other stuff on the card like the folder of my Movies, Band of Brothers TV Show Series, and the entire folder of my pictures never show up and it looks like it just randomly deleted the other stuff. When I go to open up either one of my 32GB SD Cards from on my A101IT.... everything but my folder of .apk's are still on the card?!
Is there anything I did wrong in formatting or any way I should format either card? Is my problem that I should use a Class 8/10 Card regardless of the card's GB size??
Most of noname SD cards are fake. Lots of Kingston and Transcend cards are fake too the only way I found is to buy from well-known shops where chances to get a fake are lower and you can get a replacement if something went wrong. As usual cards for $90 work better than $40, but you can get a garbage for full price
It seems both yours cards are fake. There are a lot of cards on the market marked as 32Gb and their real capacity is 8Gb maximum. What did you use for formatting?
I've bought mine from Amazon directly and waiting for delivery. It was $60 for 4 class. I'm worried a bit but hope for better
Well after formatting both 32GB Micro SD Cards on my laptop, I found that both cards are truly not fake and each of their real capacities are at 31.7 GBs and 30.9 GBs respectively. I was thinking that they just had some kind of read/write problem but I formatted both cards to the default NTFS again for like the 4th time and now they work on my A101IT?! I think the problem lies with my Toshiba laptop's USB ports and its built-in SD Card Slot because my laptop is like 6 years old and holding onto a thread to keep from dying (I've been having other non-SD Card related problems lately too). But I think it's solved now because the cards both work.
Does archos support ntfs for sd card ?
I finally received the Sandisk 64GB Class 10 MicroSDXC card from Amazon.
It was worth the wait, considering I got it for $59.
I plugged the card in and it was not recognized. (not surprising to me) I then
used my PC and formatted it to FAT32. When I plugged it back in, the card
was mounted and recognized without any issues. However, I was trying to
format the card again, but it just wiped the card partition and unmounted itself.
I put the card back inside the PC and formatted to FAT32 again and everything
was fine again. Is the PC the only way to format these cards?
Also, I tested the card several times using different softwares, 3 card readers,
on 3 PC. The best I could get was around 6.5MB/sec write. Is this normal
for a Class 10 MicroSDXC card? I have a regular Sandisk 32GB SDHC Ultra
Class 6 card and it can write 5MB/sec. (only slightly slower than the 64GB
MicroSDXC Class 10) Is this normal?
Thanks!
About the phone switching the format, I cant help but are you sure that is a class 10 card? should be around 10MB/sec.
I think you were ripped off.. This happened me with a cheap ebay card.. Happens because there isn't really 64gb on there..

No sd card will have the posted amount of memory... The reason is a kilobyte is actually 1024 bytes however the buggers who make these cards do the dirty on us consumers by saying a kilobyte is exactly 1000 bytes. All cards (and hdd's) are made like this. So a 32gb card is actually only around 29Gb's, remembering there is a small amount for system files. A 64Gb card is around 58 - 59 gb's...
I'd like to know how the *******s get away with this as they are basically stealing our money for an item that isn't as advertised...
As for the speed issue, a class 10 is supposed to be a guaranteed 10 Mb/sec, possibly faster. Its possible you were sent a class 6 card instead of a class 10. The package would tell you for sure, unless its a dodgy card and then I'd put as much stuff to the 64 Gb onto it and see if theres any data loss...
actually there are two revisions of this card on the market, only the newer one being class 10. the older version which is probably the one you pruchased is only class 6 but performs like a class 4. if you ever see a 64gb micro for less than $80 it is probably the class 6. if you paid over that then you got scammed.
