Push To Talk Service on any cooked roms? - Touch Pro, Fuze ROM Development

I am trying to get PTT service working on ANY cooked rom...
Is it even possible to put PTT service on a cooked ROM?
I've tried a few of the major ones on here, but i have yet to find a cooked ROM that does NOT have PTTMod cooked in OR has the original PTT installed . From what i've read if PTTMod.exe is cooked in there is no way of removing it. Even if i install the tachi dialer disabler + original ATT PTT cab + ATT phone canvas dialer, the PTTMgr.exe will not run at all.
I've searched high and low, but cant seem to find a definitive answer on whether this is possible. NATF seemed to try it on his 4.x series ROM back in Feb according to that thread, but he said he couldn't get it to work even without PTTMod.
I have tried the "nonbloat" custom stock rom which does indeed still have PTT installed, which does work. BUT its stock wm6.1 and i REALLY like these cooked ROMs.
I will buy anyone LOTS of coffee for any help on this.
Thanks

Cooked ROM as close to stock ROM except w/ 6.1

Hey all, I searched for this a number of ways, but the results were so many and after looking through many I never did find what I'm looking for. Can anyone tell me where to get a ROM as close to the Stock Sprint ROM except w/ WM 6.1 integrated? Thank you in advance.
B~
try Key's rom
You can try key's ROM here
I think you will find that Keys Rom is WM6
If you want as close to stock as possible, then I suggest using dcd's 3.0.1 kitchen and cook one yourself. dcd'd kitchen includes WM6.1 by default and you can add any other customizations you require which will get you pretty close to a the perfect rom you want.
Thank you both for the advice. However, I don't know enough about the ROMs to know how to "cook" them. Even though I'm sure I could learn, I don't know what components come in the stock ROM.
VetVito made one that is real close to stock with 6.1. You can find it here: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=18836 - just scroll down till you see "Stock 6.1 Rom 3.35 base:"
well DCD has roms that has been cooked by bored. You don't have to use the kitchen. click here and scroll down to ROMS. good luck!

Noob Question..how does new verizon update compare to DCD Rom ?

I mean like, does the newest DCD rom already have the same changes that the verizon rom has? like:
1) longer battery life
2) MMS Threading messaging
I know it doesnt have GPS, but so thats why I will probably flash DCD's rom, but I was just wondering about the other aspects of the rom.
Thanks,
Matthew
there IS GPS, its faster, DCD makes your phone a billion times better then what the stock rom offers.
I am not going to flash the latest verizon ROM update, but I can tell you that from the original verizon ROM and dcd's 1.7 or so roms it was night and day.
I am sure that battery life with dcd's roms will be better than stock, as I find it gets better with every new version.
Threaded messaging is great, run GC's verizon arcsoft cab and it all just works great.
Basically every thing about a custom rom is better than stock verizon.
DCD Rom
Been trying to follow all the threads - do the DCD roms come with the Microsoft Office stuff? I saw that Adobe reader is not there but I can add that myself. What else is missing from the stock rom?
Regards..... Steve

If you use the Kitchen to build your own.. (it's easy.. a bunch of checkboxes) you can select to install or not install Acrobat, Games, VPN, etc... They Do Come with Office.

If you want to try the new VZW rom... DO NOT LET the customizations run or you will have a hard time going back to a dcd rom and have GPS.
I think DCD roms are faster and have more features. I wouldnt go stock again.. But it's really a user preference. You can try both.. but like I said above if you try the new VZW rom, and you let customizations run... you'll be locked out of GPS.. even if you flash a DCD rom. (It's fixable, but not fun)

Fuze ROM vs Touch Pro ROM?

Hi,
I just bought an ATT Fuze and want to "clean it up" by installing a clean ROM on it.
I've done a lot of search here but there is SO MUCH information that in the end i'm still not clear about what's the latest and what's outdated.
So i'm asking a couple of questions. Answers or redirections will be much appreciated.
- If I want to install a custom ROM, should I pick a Fuze ROM or a Touch Pro ROM? (I am not using the phone in the US so I don't need to stick to ATT ROMs). Is one ROM better than the other by nature?
- Is there a "ROM-Status Wiki" or somewhere where one can go and check what are the latest FUZE/TPro ROMs available and what are the features in them? Or is going through all the threads the only way? What if I get a ROM and its not the latest? because there are so many threads out there.
thanks
The Wiki has all the info you are looking for:

Im assuming that you are referring to Official (non cooked Roms)
The latest English Touch Pro Rom is 5.05 which can be found here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=478657
The Touch Pro Rom is better because it has better GPS signal and no ATT crap and likely to run faster.
You can also get the latest Radio Rom which is 1.12.25.19
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=487994
The only you need to do is get the cab that convert the ATT Fuze hardware keyboard when running Touch Pro Rom which can be found here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=474192
Before you do all this you need to Run HardSPL on the Fuze which can be found here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=410150
This is a latest ATT Fuze 5.08 "Test Rom" so you dont need to install the keyboard fix cab
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=487994
Here is some latest official Touch Pro ROM Asian Versions
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=494603
Anyway read through and make an informed decision for yourself. Everything else I did not list are cooked ROMs which I personally not a big fan of. I like the official ROMS and make the customizations myself.
Thank you both of you. Between your two replies, you've answered exactly what I was asking for.
Much appreciated. Thanks again!
Rom Location?
I bought my FUZE in the US. But I am using it in Asia.
If I slash it with an English Asian TPro Rom, what difference does it make VS a non Asian ROM?
nothing really same old stuff. you just have to set your regions and time dislay and calendar display format. and of course change the keyboard layout to accomodate TP ROm on Fuze. You better off using the Asian Rom if you are using in Asia cause the Radio Rom should work better.
once again, thank you.
Thanks to your answers, I am getting more familiar with Raphael and the ROMs and trying out stuff.
I also like to install Stock (shipped) ROMs and then make my own customizations. So I have flashed the WWE Asia rom and its working very well.
But now I want to install the new Rhodium TF3D 2. It is recommended for OS builds 21000 or higher. However the latest shipped ROMs are less than 21000.
So now my question is, how can I upgrade my OS build to 21000 without installing a cooked ROM? I know the answer is probably "no you can't" so my real question is, "being a person who likes to stay as close to a Stock Rom without going into cooked roms, what the best bet to achieve this?"
Thanks again in advance.
dont know of a solution
read this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=498424&highlight=2100
I'll give it a try. thanks!
How do i check the rom build, is the same as the rom version?? sorry fo the noob question
Settings -> System -> About
Should read something similar to this:
CE OS 5.2.21051 (Build 21051.1.6.4)
WinMO 6.1 = 5.2
ROM/SYS = 21051
AKU - 1.6.4
You can obtain additional info from Device Information as well.
HTH,
Closing thread guys..
Information on this is already available.
Peace,
Joshua

simple answer is no you can't. there are some roms out there that are very similar to the stock roms, but I don't recall them off the top of my head. look in the raphael rom section.
I strongly advise you switch to EnergyROM, its stable, DAMN fast, i was like you a week ago and then went ahead with trying a cooked ROM, believe me, you will NEVER want to go back to any stock ROM after using cooked roms, specially EnergyROM. Never!
Just flash it safely and do not forget to do a HardSPL BEFORE YOU DO ANYTHING!
If you do not feel secure about flashing, like i was, then 1st backup your original ROM, and then go ahead with HardSPL and flashing
Best of luck and again, believe me, stock ROM is JUNK!
Cheers
You can extract these two files and place them in your windows folder on your phone. It should allow you to use the new Rhodium apps.
I have seen it work and not work when copying the files so use at your own risk.
On ppcgeeks FayFay made a stock sprint 21028 rom if you have sprint.
Heres the link:

Thank you for your replies everyone.
I think I will go ahead with Energy 2.0 and try it out. I was almost ready to do it anyways, this gives me the final push! I just hope its as stable as a stock rom.

[Q] Custom ROM closest to Stock?

I know I could have used the search engine for the question I`m going to ask you, people, but I haven`t got the slightest idea about what to search for.
I would like to use a new ROM for my HD2, but I want something which is close to stock, because I want to use the SPB Mobile Shell 3.5 as well. One of the key features should be a WORKING SMS application, which would NOT contain the "stuck in outbox" bug.
Please help me decide upon a specific ROM and, if I posted in the wrong section, I kindly ask a moderator to move my topic where it belongs to.
Many thanks in advance!
Just read each thread - but AFAIK there isn't one ROM using SPB
I have seen some ROMs coming pre-cooked with SPb inside, but that`s not my point. All I want is a simple ROM, better than the official 1.48, which has the SMS issue solved...
NRGZ28 (EnergyRoms) has made a build with:
Energy.Leo.23557.Titanium.Apr.13.7z
or
Energy.Leo.21898.Titanium.Apr.13.7z
Titanium means that HTC Sense is not cooked in so you can use SPB Mobile Shell (this is also the reason he made those 2 titanium builds)
As far as i see from his twitter page he intends to cook a version including spb mobile shell as well
@Iosif_Octavian A new SPB themed energyrom will be made pretty soon here.. about 13 hours ago via Digsby in reply to Iosif_Octavian

Sounds pretty good, actually... Could you provide a link, please? I've found something but it`s for the HD, not for the HD2.
Also, I`d like to mention the fact that I`ve found a ROM named Topix which seems to be pretty much similar to the stock one, except for some new apps...

so, that's all the cooked roms and official roms from 1.66 then, I bet you'd struggle to find a rom that doesn't fit the above criteria.
Well there's no official 1.66 for my device as HTC won't take my S/N for whatever reason. So right now all I can do is go for a cooked ROM. The particular thing I want my ROM to do is only to fix the SMS bug and nothing more. That's why I have such a hard time finding one, because all of them include other changes, which I don't want to have. I mean, it's ok if it includes several useful apps, but I don't want a whole pile of new stuff...
if you hspl you don't have to go for a cooked rom. all the official roms are available in the official roms thread. hit that bigg fatty first link in the first post.
just flash them over usb, they'll work fine.
But will it be available in WWE? I really like my HD2 speaking English...
And while we're at it, is the SMS issue fixed in the 1.66 ROM?
And another thing... is 1.66 the latest official ROM? I checked the post, but it only mentions the 1.46 (or sthing) and the 1.48...
in the time it took to ask you could have looked at the link and seen most roms are available, especially wwe and uk provider stock roms.
There are enough cooked ROMs out, everyone should find their own, just flash one and try it out every cook spends a lot of time on the development. So go ahead and try a couple of them. Personally I tried out about 4 different ROMs and stuck by Artemis. Good luck
