Not really a problem, happens every other time to someone...
Best regards,
Decertifying
Not sure if this is the correct thread so I appologise in advance.
Bought an Iolite from O2 which and the phone is currently unlocked.
I cannot install some applications (although I've installed Skype for ex). I get "installation was unsuccesful". I thought is all about decertifying so I looked for information about changing registry values and registry editors etc but apparently, values in registers cannot be changed or deleted. Any ideas, please?

yes you can transfer files from your computer to your xda2 via its "stand"
you can use resco file explorer to send files via bluetooth.
you can use Windows Media 10 to play in landscape mode.
the "MAC type" scheme your refering to can be achieve through Wisbar Advance 2
thanks sir alphatrion for that walkthrough ill be searching to study more about it, thanks.
yes sir salaryman, that is also one of the reasons i came here (because of the advanced members knowledge and its courteousness enough to answer any given querry) im still adjusting to using the net and your forum, im also doing some searching, no need to rub it in. thank you for your time.
Hi,
We've been having the same problem on disabling XT9 and there were no solutions. Good thing I found this. And few people including me tried it and it really really works! so, i share this with you all.. Cheers!
Yeeeaaaahhh
It Realy Works!
I Love You For That...
Thank You So Much
Rename your thread. This could be misleading. This does NOT disable xT9. It only changes the default input method to abc (which is much better for most of us non-english users).
Rename it to something like:
Default input abc instead of xT9 cab fix
there... I changed it heheh... Thanks But I also found out that somebody knew about this earlier. Too bad I didn't read the post.
But now your thread title is more descriptive and will definitely get more hits on search query results.

Same here. I want permanent xt9, not ABC.
Here's another kick for the same request. Does anybody know how to switch to xt9 permanently? I've done a lot of searching but can't seem to find a solution. Much appreciated!
Thanksssssss !
So happy found this app, simply great ! Thanks

I found out how to set xT9 as the default (over ABC):
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Tegic\eT9\IME
-> set CarrierDefaultTextMode to 1 (the .CAB in this thread sets it to 0).
Now my keypad switches to T9 automatically when it pops up!
how about forcing qwerty mode always on, instead . is it possible?
i'm trying to get a touch dual (uk t-mobile latest stock rom) to default to xt9 rather than abc.
I've tried the CarrierDefaultTextMode fix mentioned below (adding the key as a Dword as it didnt already exist) but no change, it still defaults to abc when starting a new sms message or anything.
Before recently going back to t-mobile for a repair and them flashing it with the latest rom it defaulted to xt9 and the owner wants it to behave as it did.
Anyone got any other ideas?

PS Its running wm6.1 btw.

You are not stupid man, just a little slow ..
No, in all sincerity. You have to use a REGISTRY EDITOR... use the attached file and install it to your phone. once you open it you will see a few "folders"... HKCU is HKey Current User... so follow the instructions and go by the "folder" names, edit the file they are quoting.
Hope this helps.
ok

thank u so much
but how the hell could i know that
how did u folks know that

congratulations
as i know, nobody "learn" the registry, people know about registry because they had some issues that can be fixed by registry-key-values.
so, enjoy your ppc, and hope you never have to "learn" registry.
and, iam a non-english user too, sorry for my bad english...
same problem on HTC touch pro2
Dear yulanz,
Any clue how to solve the same problem on HTC touch pro2 ?
string HKCU-controlPanel-phoneExtendFunction-cdma-msgtype doesnot exist there.
I searched registry for "msgtype".
It looks like that all names related to msgtype are located in
HKEY_CURRENT_USER - Software - Microsoft - Inbox - SMStext
But I could not find the key...
Thank you very much in advance!
Maybe this is one of a dozen questions.. i have been searching on the forums to find some cool stuff for my phone,
I installed Cookies Home Tab and the editor and so on...
Now i found Dinik his stuff, and i want that so bad.. it looks really awsome for me...
When i browse the topic, i see things like: Anastasia Task bar etc..
How can i install those things on my, almost standard HTC HD2? Is it just installing the CAB? Or do i need to install a special ROM (i am running 1.66).
And how about Manila? What is that? Do i have that already? When i search the forums, i see all kinds of mods for it, but i don't find the real program...
I hope u guys can help me, and not saying that this is one of the dozen or something.. i just want to be helped... i have used the search option already.
Thanks in Advance..
ThaSySman
Manilla is you home screen with tabs etc.
Manila is another name for HTC Sense. Download cabs you want to your device, open file manager and double click. Good luck.
Ah okay! So that was indeed a stupido question
How about Anastasia?

That is the name of a stylistic theme for Sense/Manila mods created by forum member Dinik.
Ah okay!
Things are coming together now!
I read this question a couple of times on the forum.
Been busy with it tonight for about 4 hours.. i think things are coming together now
Thanks for you help guys

Sharon, to forward a msg, long press it and options will pop up.
Regarding the ringtones and notifications, create two folders on the SDcard called ringtones and notifications, drop the files you want to use in this, post a restart it should come up in Settings-> Sounds options
Cheers,
Vikram.
P.S. a lot of the capability is stock Android so it would make sense for you to search in general android forums for answers instead of searching specific to this phone ...
Thanks for the responce I have managed to work out how to forward.
So any types of these questions i should go to an Android forum?
Sorry am new to this phone...
Thanks in advance

Is there a sent box on this phone or does it just come up with the conversation window.

SMS are based on conversations like gMail have. Some time I hate it, but many times it is most better solution that I ever seen.
About question - I think that its fine. I had same problems But I just used google.
