Good Day Ladies and Gents,
I am currently new to the forum and request your kind assistance.
I am located in toronto and just purchased a SX56 of ebay, Im trying to set up GPRS on it but i dont have the connection settings.
Would any one be kind enough to help me with this
Regards
Jeremy
First, you have to get Data Plan - the WAP Data will not work.
http://www.shoprogers.com/store/wir...sp?shopperID=3B14CX7DPGSL8MECEMVV72AFJ1BRFUFA
and
http://www.shoprogers.com/store/wir...nceCd=ON&CityCd=Toronto&RegionCd=502&flow=GSM
Second you should create new GPRS connection with following settings:
Access Point: internet.com
User: wapuser1
Password: wapuser
Do not hesitate if you need more info.
Paul
Hi Paul,
Thanks for your reply, I am currently subscribed to a rogers 7mb data plan.
When I called rogers to day they gave me these settings
My Connectin is Called : Rogers
Select Modem is : Cellular Line (GPRS)
Access Point: Internet.com
User Name: wapuser1 " all Lowercase"
Password: wap " all lowercase"
When I try connect to GPRS I get an error message saying " The answering modem has disconnected. To check your connection settingsand change them where needed."
Are there any advanced settings i must add like IP addresses by the way i am using T-mobiles Pocket Pc 2003
Cheers mate for the help
Regards
Jeremy
hey guys
i am new here and i just got my xda.......its a wonderful device no doubt and whats more wonderful is the support that you people offer through this website. keep up the good work and i hope that i can be of help to you and to this website..
now to the problem...i have a wap account which i configured correctly (since when i am dialing it is connecting) but when i try to access wap sites from internet explorer...no matter what wap site i try (which i know is working) it always tells me page could not be found!
so what am i doing wrong? do i need another wap browser and if yes please give me the link of a good one that you recommend
thanks for your help in advance
may GOD bless you all
You can use EZWAP 2.5 ... it's complicated but works good for WAP sites.
Pocket IE doesn't support WAP protocol
Hilal, have you tried accessing normal http internet pages, I have an O2 pay and go sim, I have 300 minutes wap for free every month, I just dial in to my wap access number using gsm not gprs, I am then able to get full internet access.
Hi All,
After updating to the latest WMXL .2 i wanted to install all the operator settings from my operaters rom (3 Australia). ive been able to install all the .cab files but there are a few .cer.xml and .xml files that i have no idea how to install.
i have attaced the files as a .zip file
http://rapidshare.com/files/19956802/Hutch_3AUST_files.zip.html
i need some help in installing these files as i believe it will allow me to send MMS and recieve MMS as this has been a major issue with non-operator ROM's (even though the settings are right)
thank you in advance,
Drooch

i have been trying to get 3MMS working since november last year. no luck as of yet. 3services and 3netacces work 100% but MMS is giving me the shi#ts.
I guess the dopod roms for Aus have the settings/certificates embedded in the ROM.

you probably right, but who know how these tight a$$'s at 3AUS have configured their services.
I cannot send an MMS, but when I receive one, it wont download and will sit in my notifications bugging me to download, but it just wont. I called them up and asked them for the settings, I told them that I have a jasjam and they said they wont tell me the settings. Damn bastards, ive been with them since they rolled out in Aus, had 4 handsets with them, its not like they havent made their money from me.....
oh well, i guess i might switch to optus soon, my workplace has scored a nice corporate deal with them, for $15 a month you get 100mb quota for 3g data traffic. (much better then 3aUS's $5 for 10mb...lol)
lets see what happens.

as i said to dogeatdog01 best thing to do is just flash the OS.nb file of the 1.30 Dopod ROM and run the netwiz application and have a look at the settings
@dogeatdog01
are you going to flash the dopod rom to see the settings? if you do, please write them down and maybe we can make a cab file to ease the pain when we do rom updates....
I would have reverted back to the dopod rom but I dont have time to atm. well, i guess i am a hypocrit as for some reason, while working atm, i find myself on this forum.....

hi All,
just letting u know that MMS is **JUST** working, not that good but it kinda works
mms sends, after a few times trying to send, but recieving mms is very difficult. using sned/recieve and u get an error Synchronising.
i dont really know whats wrong... these are the settings ive entered in
MMS
Server Name: 3MMS
Gateway: 10.176.57.25
Port#: 8799
Server Address: http://mmsc.three.net.au:10021/mmsc
Connection Via: Work
Sending size limitations: 300kb
Wap Version: WAP 2.0
i would also like to get those reg. entries into the registry as, they seem to help with planet 3 (3 Australia content site) and they also look like they enter the emergency numbers too
Drooch
I've never had any problems with my Three settings, and I'm using XDA Live 0.20.1 with the settings. MMS sends and receives first time, without any errors.
My settings as follow:

thanks walshieau and kevinbaker
i finally got it to work
i used a modem name "3services" with an access point name "3services"
Then the following settings
MMS ***********************
Server Name: 3MMS
Gateway: 10.176.57.25
Port#: 8799
Server Address: http://mmsc.three.net.au:10021/mmsc
Connection Via: Work
Sending size limitations: 300kb
Wap Version: WAP 2.0
The 3AUS website stated that the connection should be via the "WAP NETWORK".
This didnt work so i tried the above but I dont have my WORK configured so i used connect via 3services. This works 100% now.
I cannot beleive it was that simple. I have been racking my brain everynow and then to get this thing to work.
Cheers.

the only reason why I use it is due to their $3 unlimited send/receive email pack. i forward all my exchange email to my 3mail and push it via imap.
cheap alternative if u ask me.

I'm also using it for the $3 unlimited, also the $69 cap is pretty nice!
We've almost got enough of us here to have a Melbourne club .
jasjamming, how did you configure the push email? I've got mine setup to check every 15 mins from my Three mail (same as you; I forward my email to my 3mail) but I'd love to have push functionality.

Try changing your connection to wap.voicestream.com. Internet2.voicestream.com tends to have issues with MMS. Hope that helps...
hi,
i would like to configure the network internet services into my phone. im using the HTC HD2(Sim free). i bought a 3sim card which on Unlimited internet plan. i did call the 3 call centre, unfortunately they can be of help as the phone is 'Non-3' registered phone and did asking me to caotact the HTC itself for configuration. Thought anyone here could help me to configure the network internet into my phone please..
thanks in advance
cheers
That's ridiculous, and I'm sorry to say, it doesn't suprise me when it comes to 3. They're notorious for not giving a monkey's about their customers once they've got them.
3 may not be able to tell you how to configure a phone that they don't sell, and that's a more than fair comment, but they certainly are 100% responsible for giving you the information your phone needs in order to use their network. Ring them back and tell them you need APN settings. This has got nothing to do with HTC.
Either that, or you may find a kind soul on here that is on the same plan as you and can give you their settings off their phone. The only thing they won't be able to give you is the password (if there is one), but it's probably "password" anyway.
Hope you get it sorted mate, but it really is 3's responsibility to give you this info.

yeah.. call HTC???? definitely wont help either. kinda dissapointed though..but wait, the agent did mention me about the APN... he said : three.co.uk(not sure weather its 3.co.uk or three.co.uk). yeah, i remember that.. the reason that didnt remember it because, you know, some call centre, not a english people, i think he's Indian. cant understand his slang.
yeah, i probably wait for someone genius here who had the same plan and same phone with me to sort it out.
cheers mate..
