hey guys just wanted to let you know its possible to have the Iris voice assitant on the TP, iris is a port of the IOS "siri" here are some threads on it

the app itself is on the android market but you need Google Voice Search and TTS Libary on your touchpad for it to work, TTS library was already on the Touchpad but voice search was not
Found it in the market but it says that the touchpad is not supported. Did some googling and was able to find a .apk link and side loaded on the touch pad no problem
At first voice recognition was pretty awful but them i went into DSPManager in our app drawer and changed a couple of settings that made it much better
- effect strength to moderate
-made sure bass boost was disabled
-selected Vocal booster under select preset.
Will be honest it very limited to what it can do on the touch pad so far you can ask basic question about time, weather, what is... tell me about.... search this.... and it it wrong about half the time BUT its an app that is in alpha phase so
anyways here is a very quick vid i did search for pizza hut and blockbuster and how to say hello in french

More interested in native ubuntu than this. BTW, voice support has been in android for a while now. About a year since I tinkered with it, and not much growth. Guess that will change soon.
Sent from my very "non-stock" TP.
Tell me the best apps (games or general apps) u have used in ur L920. Here are my 2 cents
skype
nimbuzz
facebook
yousendit
smartshoot.
Well i couldnt find much of good apps. If u found anything new, do comment below as everyone can try it.
Thanks..
what i use
it really says a lot when the best apps on my Windows Phone (Lumia 920) are the following:
Nokia Drive
Nokia Music
Photobeamer
Smart Shoot
All are made by Nokia and available for free.
Besides those I use the following a lot:
gMaps
Metrotube
Package Tracker
Tunein Radio
Only non Nokia one I really love would have to be Weave. Sexiest news reader out there.
Otherwise I use TuneIn, Though I wish it had a few more features such as tagging songs.
Oh and TripView for Sydney public transport is as excellent as the IOS and Android versions.
Frequently used:
Metro Tube
Nokia Maps -> Drive
Weave
Weather Flow
Nokia Music
Fhotoroom / Creative Studio
Photobeamer is one of the slicker things I've seen in a while.
Photofunia
Rhapsody
Weave
AP
Nokia Drive
WPCentral
Podcatcher
WeatherFlow
IMDB
UK Bus Checker
Ocado On The Go
Nokia Maps
There have been quite a number that I've enjoyed using so far travelling around the south of England.
By far and away, it's nokia maps and drive, but I've used NavigationShortcuts to pin destinations to the home screen.
Nokia city lense, and TripAdvisor are great for discovering what's around
ConnectivityShortcuts is my goto for turning on and off GPS, WiFi, and LTE.
Nokia Transport does a great job in London for replacing TFL.gov.uk, as does the UK Bus Checker
The microsoft Translator app works well going from french to english
I've enjoyed using Nokia Music for just some background music, and Tune-inRadio has ample internet radio lists
Primetube is a great free youtube viewer
What did I miss?
Connectivity Tiles - This is the best cellular, airplane mode, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth tile shortcut app I could find.
Weather (the MS one)
Notes - This app lets you add text into a live tile so you don't have to click anything to see your note.
WPCentral
IMDB
Newegg
Amazon
Paypal
AccuWeather and Met Office for weather info
XE best currency app
Facebook if poor on windows phone, I am sure it will improve
GPS toolkit for switching gps on and off
Settings tile for switch phone data, wireless, bluetooth and airplane mode on\off
Skype
Tripit
Tube map works well
Tunin Radio
And as said above, all the Nokia apps are great. love the maps and the transport app, but city lens and local scout are fabulous.
I have a rooted HTC that is running ICS flawlessly. But I really need Vlingo or something as good so I can use voice commands and a car dash setting so I can access my music from Google Music Player in the car (from the my library cloud)
But unbelievably, Vlingo does not show up in the market for ICS? Or is this just HTC? How stupid is it that the millions of people who can't have Google Now on ICS ALSO can't have VLINGO that came out over 3 years ago?
Is there an .apk file for rooted phones to install Vlingo without the market? I know Google Now is completely killed for ICS and no one is trying to make that work anymore.
Or, if I can't get Vlingo, is there a voice activated app like Vlingo for a dash type application to play my music?
Did Google pay off Vlingo to not allow it on ICS so that we have no choice but to buy Jelly Bean phones? (since there is no equal in voice command to Google Now and Vllingo)
I'm getting sick of how Google sold us out. You can have Google Now on the freaking iphone, but not ICS?
I would greatly appreciate anyone who can tell me how to force install Vlingo on ICS?
Update. For anyone else who can't get Vlingo on ICS or Vivid. I was finally able to by looking for the actual apk file and then putting it into dropbox and installing it from there on the phone.
I don't know if my 3.6 version is the latest but it works great so far. I also don't know if I would be able to play music from google music player but Vlingo is as good as it gets without google now.'
Does anyone know if it's possible for me to access Google Music Player, (the "my library cloud music), by voice activation with Vlingo?
I've read that some voice activated apps are customizable, and if Vlingo is the best voice activated app besides Google Now, you would think there would be a way.
I was looking for a "smartwatch" that can function as a standalone phone. I plan to give it to my kid brother so he can call me anytime. So NO frills, just for calling and maybe play music. Most basic I can find was this:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c_mcJ_yPQtw
Has anyone tried using these kinds of watches (not necessarily the one on the video)? Can you disable apps on these devices?
Feedback would be greatly appreciated.
Guys, any thoughts on this?
I have a S7 Edge running Android 7.0 and a HTC M9 running Android 7.0. Both have the same Google Assistant.
I created a couple of Apps using Tasker. Made the tasks and exported them using AppFactory. They are basically an app to open TuneIn Radio and click on a Radio Station. Apps are called TuneIn Classic Rock and TuneIn 5AA.
In Google Assistants I have set up shortcuts when you hear "play radio classic rock" then Google Assistant "Open TuneIn Classic Rock"
On the S7 Edge it works flawlessly. But every time i say the same thing on the HTC M9 it only ever brings up the web card with info about TuneIn Radio and Classic Rock. HTC M9 does open other apps for example if I say "Open Tasker" it will open the app Tasker. But for a number of apps including the ones i made it simply just pulls info from the web.
Any ideas/thoughts?
