Hi all,
Since Rose has 6.1 Standard, not all games and apps can be used. Post your favorite software that you're using on your Rose, in this topic, to make life a bit easier for everyone.
Let's start off with: Smarttoolkit, an addition to the main shell, which adds a Windows-style start menu and some more nice features. Be sure to use RC8, because newer releases seem to have issues on the Rose.

SmartGear for GameBoy, GameBoy Color, NES, GameGear, MasterSystem, TurboGrafx-16, and Genesis/MegaDrive Games (Snes-emulation in development). Costs: 10$ (Trial Version works for 2 minutes and you can't save)
Only not perfectly working with some Roms, it can't save the game then. But especially newer games are no problem. To be honest, I play pokemon with it, because I was and am still looking for decent RPG Games - pokemon is fun .

+ 1 on this, best emulator I've used on a phone.
Works great with the S740 keypad as well.
Oh and you can save games now, plus he's working on a SNES emulator to roll in to it as well
Just found that windows marketplace has been ported for use on WM 6.1 devices. Pick it up here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=4669566&postcount=549

We have just released our latest game for Windows Phone 7 and are looking for people to test it on Windows Phone 8. We would like to know if the game runs smooth and looks good. In the meantime we are working to port this game to Windows Phone 8 and make it resolution independent with HD graphic support.
The game is available for free. If you have the time please let us know if it works good on WP8. Thank you kindly.

DESCRIPTION:
A while ago we decided to tackle an old classic called Achtung die Kurve. This game has received quite some cult fame as a multiplayer game under students to release some stress during study breaks, and that is exactly how the idea started to revive this classic. Our initial plan was to design an AI for this game so that it could be enjoyable to play on a mobile phone. The problem with other Achtung games out there is that the AI is very simple and easy to beat or even non existant.
To design this AI we could not use a standard predefined algorithm, but instead had to combine various methods to make the AI more intelligent and harder to beat. And what started off as a challenge for ourselves ended up better than expected so we decided to turn it into a full game. We have worked hard to make the algorithm as efficient as possible and push the boundaries of the devices to achieve great performance, yet keep the gameplay challenging and fun.
To top it off we gave it a nice chalkboard design and composed a catchy theme song.
The game is completely free, please check it out and let us know what you think! If you like the game, please rate or review it.

Indeed the demo is free and very functional. I have posted it in couple of forums, because the main post in the global apps&games gets buried in a matter of seconds.. very little people get any chance to see it.

Say "hello" to the universal windows port of the classic "Tower Toppler" aka "Nebulus" game
In this game you have to help a cute little green animal called Pogo switch off some kind of "evil" mechanism. The "power off switch" is hidden somewhere in high towers. On your way to the target you need to avoid a lot of strange robots that guard the tower.
Original game was created by John M. Phillips in late 1980s (for various computer platforms including IBM PC, Commodore Amiga, Atari, ZX Spectrum.
This WP/Windows port is based on the open source SDL reimplementation by Andreas Röver in 2006 ("Tower Toppler" website)
Original game (as a reimplementation) supports keyboard only so the touch/mouse support of my version is a little non-standard (but still useful).
Game is free (ad-based) but has a paid option to remove ad banner. Source patches will be available soon.
If you are "oldfag" (who played original game 20 years ago), probably, you already know how to pass both standard missions. If your'e a newbie, it will be not an easy! But for the oldfags game offer extremely hard-to-pass additional missions so have fun!

P.S. If you're unable to complete game level, PLEASE DON'T RATE GAME LOW! All levels are playable and passable, you just need more game experience (try to practice on the mission "ABC Towers" first).
Very tricky game!

TrinusVR
One of the biggest problems with investing in a decent VR system is that there isn't a whole lot of great content for them yet. A cheaper and more sensible way to enter into the world of VR is to get a Google Cardboard headset. There are some great Android VR apps that are worth your while but what really sells the Android VR is a new app with the ability to turn your PC games into VR games.
The app is called TrinusVR and it connects to your computer through WiFi or USB. Using your Android phone as a display, the software will convert your games into a VR experience. You'll use the sensors in your phone to control your POV just like you would in any VR app.
The video above shows the system working great with a bunch of modern games. It even shows it being used wirelessly with little or no lag at all.
You can adjust the sensitivity of your controls until everything is working correctly. Since these games are not made for VR, expect to do a little bit of tweaking for each game until it's working smoothly.
Download TrinusVR Lite

I do not have a cardboard headset to test this out but the reviews are really good so far. If anyone wants to try this out, let me know in the comments how well it works!
I tested the app with my cardboard. So far i realy like it.
Thanks for the post, any questions feel free to ask (Trinus dev here )
I bought the program and using on my Nexus 6P. Fantastic, but you should have a forum where people put their tracking settings for different games. Ex GTA V works best with tracking remote desktop and 1080p window so you get some sense of moving. Mouse tracking is not good by the use of the gamepad.

WithstandZ - Zombie Survival!
I've been looking for a decent open world survivor game for 17 years now. Android has always been kind of lacking in this department. I found a game in beta that seems like it has a bit of potential. WithstandZ is a zombie survival game that includes open world maps, crafting items, building forts and multiplayer mode! The graphics are kept very simple in order to make everything run smooth on Android. The game looks a bit like a minecraft clone at first glance.
The controls are decent and I found running, jumping and attacking to be very smooth. So far this game isn't going to blow your mind but the potential is obvious as they continue to work through beta.
SURVIVAL:
You will have to learn and develop your own survival technique, go in search of food and equipment and keep the thirst, hunger and life of your character in stable level.
EXPLORE:
The game features a map of open world, where who chooses where to go, it's really you! Therefore, you will have many interesting places to explore and loot.
MULTIPLAYER:
The multiplayer/online mode brings a new experience to players on portable devices like smartphones, Tablets and other, that way you will enjoy and have fun with your friends, and if you're playing alone, it's up to you to decide if you will the player "Hero" or "Villain".
ZOMBIES:
Our zombies are constituted with an excellent artificial intelligence, that way if you are inside a House, you don't have to worry about a Zombie appear out of nowhere, they will only come after you if you really want.
Download WithstandZ
Do you guys know of any other decent open world survival games for Android?
Open world games are very hard to find on Android markets....
I will give it a try....
Thnx

Maybe when you played was bad, but I played the game recently and found it quite modified and improved compared to UnitZ.
