Major Sprint Hero program compatibility issue??? - Hero, G2 Touch Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Please help me, I'd love to be wrong, but.....
I think I've found a major program Compatibility issue with the Sprint HTC Hero. I have found a number of programs, that when installed run just fine. But, when you reboot the phone, numerous crash errors come up, like
"The process com.android.phone could not be started"
and about 5 or 6 others. When the phone finally finishes booting, it runs just fine, but there is NO voice or data service. If you try to launch the dialpad, you get the error
"The process com.android.acore could not be started"
I have about 70 MB of free internal memory, so I do not think that is an issue.
Can someone help me out? These are some good, and very popular programs that I'd love to run, but I can't.
Or, if its some other problem can someone help me track it down?
the programs that give the errors on re-boot (so far) are:
"Java/J2ME Manager"
"Video Player"
"My Coupons"
"Gtasks"
"Handcent"
"CompSMS"
"Taskpanel X"
"Astrid"
"LocA"

I've done 2 factory resets, and still have the problem. Could there be some other app that is indirectly causing these problems? how would I go about finding it?

I installed a log collector, and then handcent, and rebooted. I immediately ran the log collector get a message with lots of this:

Stereo Bluetooth help

i have a pair of the sharper image 10x wireless headphones, class 1 bluetooth headphones. well long story short, they worked perfectly fine for music with my old g1, which was stolen. now, i am unable to pair my headphones with my new g1, and i've tried everything and now, i'm running out of ideas. since the sharper image went bankrupt, i cant return them to the store or call a customer support. i paired it over 100 times but it wont connect, the only thing that happens is, when i try to connect the headphones, it turns off once it tries to connect media audio. phone audio connects fine, but it still doesn't really work. at first i thought it was the rom, but then i wiped and flash 3 different roms just to have none of them work. i am using cyanogen 4.1.11.1 with .229i radio and dangerspl.
here is my log file

edit: mabye youre not putting your headset in the proper pairing mode my s9s do this sometimes
does anyone know how to clear the headphones? like unpair all devices? basically a factory reset
go to bluetooth settings ,,long press on the h/phone you want to unpair and you wil get a list of choices..

Need Help debugging Hero crash logs

I've been having trouble with numerous crash and acore errors whenever I reboot my phone. At first I thought it was due to certain programs being installed, but that's not the case. Its being very inconsistent.
for the background, look here:
http://androidcommunity.com/forums/f41/sprint-hero-crashes-on-re-boot-problem-app-27205/
The following are some logs generated by My Hero, after a reboot. I Collected them with Log Collector. If anyone can help me out, I'd really appreciate it.
thanks

[Q] Wifi error

Ive had an Atrix with AT&T for awhile and have been flashing roms for about one and a half years now ( I always wipe data/factory reset/ and wipe caches) and havent run into any major problems I couldn't google or look up and fix. However Ive finally ran into problem that I cannot seem to fina an answer to. About a week ago I think it was a day after I flashed the neutrino rom, not too sure, but when I went to turn on my wifi, displayed "Error" where it usually displays the network I'm connected to. I did see a wifi fix on the dev forums, but on of the commands the guide calls for gives me a " Directory not found message". Ive tried replying to the thread but I cant due to the fact I have not reached the post quota. Also I ran a logcat and I get "E/WifiService< 1479>: Failed to load Wi-Fi driver." I got < 1454> yesterday idk if that means anything. Anyways if anyone else has had this problem and manage to fix it or if anyone knows how to fix this problem, all help is appreciated. Thank you.
Check the owner of the file /data/misc/wifi/wpa_supplicant. It should be set to wifi. I get the same error when I restore that file which has all my wifi networks saved.
I have the same problem and I've noticed it after flashing the neutrino ROM too
I re flashed the older ROM that I used to have and the same problem persists.

I tried to set the owner form "system" to "wifi" and it didn't work too
Anybody who suggest us any solutions to our problem, please?
yeah this was the first time I restored my Wifi locations with TB. However my data driectory is empty, but I can find wpa_supplicant through /etc/wifi , but I dont exactly understand what you mean by change it to wifi. oh and when I look at the location that my TB says it save the Wifi locations to, it is the /data/misc/wifi/wpa_supplicant , but I cant seem to find this location through Astro.

Did you try rebooting? Also, check the permissions that it has rw.

I did that using Root Explorer. I accessed the path and found the file and opened the menu ( you could open the menu by holding your finger on the file name). Afterwards I chose "Change owner" option from the menu and changed the owner from "system" to "wifi".
But unfortunately, the trick doesn't work for me
PS: I found that the Bluetooth driver doesn't work too but the difference is it's recognizable by the android while the WiFi seems not to be recognized at all.

/etc/wifi/wpa_supplicant does something else and doesn't save your networks.
I'm not sure how you can have an empy /data directory. That's where all your apps data should be stored. Perhaps it's an issue with Astro. As for changing the owner, there should an option to change the owner of the file. Usually, you long press on the file and a menu comes up giving you that option. I've never used Astro so I don't know if that gives you that option.

Try deleting the file (backup first) and reboot. That should fix the wifi issue but you will lose all of your saved networks. Then note the owner and permissions of the newly generated wpa_supplicant and use those when you restore your wpa_supplicant.

I've tried this but unfortunately this doesn't work too.
Sounds like the software doesn't even sense the driver
I hope that neutrino ROM didn't affect the hardware of the device!
Thanks
Does root explorer give you the option to set both the owner and group? They both need to be wifi.

Yea that's what I tried to do before and seems not to solve it at all.
Not being pessimistic, but our problem seems to be bigger than just fixing it by tweaking or even deleting that file
I guess it's maybe a Radio or Kernel related issue..
It certainly sounds like a bigger problem. Good luck.
wifi n bluetooth problem
i had the same problem it happened after c7 rc1 n the new neutrino rom ....i tried flashing other roms n radios n kernels and nothing helped.....i thought it was a sd card problem since i bought a new one ..am going to try n figure the method mention in this thread .....i cant post in the neutrino rom thread or the cm7 thread because i never post anything because i find what i need or similar problems by looking around......i should of post more often

Check the owner of the file /data/misc/wifi/wpa_supplicant. It should be set to wifi. I get the same error when I restore that file which has all my wifi networks saved.

so Im using Root Explorer now and I can get all the way to /data/misc/wifi but when i get there the only folder is "sockets" no wpa_supplicant...
It sounds like you have some other problem too. If that file doesn't exist, it should be automatically created when turning on wifi.
ops
k well i was flashing back to neutrino gt because i like the rom to try n rename the file as i was flashing neutrino from scratch with sync add on n other add ons also n changed the kernel to 1ghz cm7 stock one ...n the radio to the 37p one ....the last thing i did i upgraded the cwm to the touch screen one... now my phone just turns on to the boot animation screen n turns off doess this all time unless i take off the battery............when i try to sync to the cpu it says tho make sure the drivers r installed i am using a new mc sd card i just transfer my pics n music from my old to the new i think thats what messed the cwm which doesnt load up when i try doing it by the phone it self
I'm having the same issue. I believe it started with a CM7-based ROM and has persisted with CM9 and now Neutrino's latest. I didn't really care at first because I have unlimited data, but then I got the throttling text less than halfway through my billing cycle...

I'm having the exact same issue, tried doing the wifi fix which didn't work, tried different roms, nothing has fixed it. Here's a logcat if it helps, I notice it says wifi driver fails to load.

Sorry for the double post, but I think this post is worthy because I found something that seems to work somewhat, but only temporarily. Under the cover try rubbing and tapping the smooth plastic below the camera and above the sdcard and then rebooting. I managed to get the wifi to turn on for at least a minute or so before it stopped working again. This makes me think it's an issue with the small battery located underneath the plastic
shows just error no rebooting
my wifi just shows up error thats all with no rebooting after attempting to connect it...
Nothing I've tried seems to work and I'm a month out of warranty. Might have to just use the ol' upgrade. Sucks that I can't really sell a phone w/o wifi or bluetooth, though.

ERROR: tried to execute code in unprepared class

Hoping someone here can help me with a recent issue. I've been updating my app, and somewhere along the way, I've lost the ability to debug. If I run the app normally it runs fine, but if i put a break point on the first line of onCreate of the main activity, it runs, but then dies saying it tried to execute code from an unprepared class.
I'm having a hard time figuring out where it's trying to run it from, since i'm breaking on the very first line of code in the app. I've even tried putting a breakpoint at every reference to that class (instead of at the top of onCreate) but then the app just runs normally w/o hitting any breakpoints.
According to the logcat, it looks like something in onCreate is is calling BillingHelper.isBillingSupported() but that does not exist in my onCreate method. And if i'm breaking at the top of onCreate, why would it try to be executing anything else in onCreate while the debugger is sitting with the yellow highlight where i had the breakpoint?
Anyone else had a similar issue?
Totally confused here.
One thing I haven't tried yet, is to do a "clean" on the project. I'll try that when I get home.

After rolling back to earlier (then much earlier) versions of the app (versions that I know I was able to debug in onCreate and onStart methods), I'm convinced this is not a coding issue. It must be an Eclipse/ADT or JVM issue.
About a month ago, I updated eclipse to HELIOS (had INDIGO before), and the latest version of Java SDK.
I still can't understand why this is happening, but as it is, I cannot set a break point in onCreate or onStart w/o the VM aborting due to the error above. Even those there are no references to that class before the breakpoints.
I'll try to go back to the older eclipse and see if that helps.

Pretty sure you mean the other way around, correct? Indigo is the latest release

Yes, I had it backwards. I'm on INDIGO now.
This is still driving me nuts. It doesn't matter where I put a break point. Even if it's in a method triggered by a button click after onCreate and onStart have finished. The app runs perfectly fine, even in debug mode, until i hit a break point somewhere. As soon as It breaks, and I see the highlight in the code, the VM aborts with the error above. And nothing is trying or has tried to call that method.
I'm gonna try to go back to the previous version of JVM and see if that helps.

mainboard replaced - No cellular network

Hello,
My i9100 died some months ago, it was impossible to boot (Tested different batteries, SIM-cards and chargers). I think it was overheating when I used it for the last time.
I bought a used mainboard from China and build it into my phone. It had Stock Gingerbread installed and was used in Iran.
An IMEI-analysis says that the board is a european version
Information on IMEI xxxxxx
Type Allocation Holder Samsung

I use cm12.1 (12.1-20150430-UNOFFICIAL-i9100) but I also don't have cellular network with other ROMs. GPS, Wifi, BT etc. are working
Search for mobile networks is not successful and I can't execute USSD-Codes. The efs-partition is not corrupted. Most files are from 2010, last changes 2013.
Do you have any idea how to solve this?
Best regards
Have you checked which baseband software version is showing under "about phone"? This is stored in /dev/block/mmcblk0p8, and would not be updated by installing CM. I think I9100XXMS4 was the last European one. Rather than messing around with installing this, you can simply install Sale's NeatROM (modified Samsung 4.1), before installing CM etc.

Another thing to consider, but I not sure how you'd check or fix:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s2/general/external-antenna-socket-warning-t1273292
This would mean the radio modem is booted & working OK, but no antenna = no signal = no networks.
My baseband was XXKI4. I installed XXMS4 but that didn't change anything.
The antenna socket is not damaged or anything but i don't know how to check the functionality without destroying the coonnection to the internal antenna (provided it works at all).
Hmmm @tgb456
Install stock 2.3.3 and root it.
Connect your phone to PC into ADB. Start logcating and make log:
