Hi everybody!
I bought a Optimus One to replace my HTC Magic Vodafone..
Since I'm missing the Notification led, I was wondering if there was some way to replace it with a glowing effect on the physical buttons or something like that..
Basically I'm asking to someone more able than me to tweak the phone to look if it is feasable or not ;P
+1 on that. "noled" app does something similar by using the screen, but I think that using backlight of phone's phyisical buttons would be the best solution.
Maybe if someone with enough skill can write an app or something..

Will recieve my LGOO tomorrow, can't wait for it !
Call me crazy guys and i truely do miss an external led notification light ..even external flashing led physical keys ...welp heh this is why i had free time to get intouch with an app developer to code the api's and do a simple app to hopefully (cross fingers) get this to work on our devices.
Needs time and a guine pig phone to test i got in return..so guys if i cant get someone to port a hd2 like api to get it flashing. So if i cant get a thrashed body phone in ok condition i might need a donor phone in alright working conditon to get testing done plus coding.
Just another step in development. I just wanna help much as i can.
+5 pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease give me it!!!

Any details on this would be good. Is it going to be similar to g nexus notification led which has to be the best, you can choise different colours etc?
Says RGB LED notification which suggests to me it can produce almost any colour.
That's brilliant, its a small feature but essential inmho. Not much info about this feature so thanks for sharing this.
I have found it kinda surprising that no on has touched on the led notifacations in reviews yet. The question in my mind isn't just is it an umlimited color palatte but also does it work before you pickup the handset? On the N1 you could see across the room that you had an email, text, etc. and this is what I'm hoping for with this phone. It has little point if you have to pick up the phone to light the led.

I didn't know some phones worked like that? I mean that you have to pick the phone up in order for the LED to light up... Which phones work like that? That sounds like a really dumb thing for a phone to do! The point of a notification LED is after all that you should be able to see the notifications without having to pick the phone up to check it, no?
I'm hoping it's like the Blackberrys. I miss BerryBuzz, had the option to set multiple colours to multiple events.
If its anything like nexus galaxy I will happy. Mind you had to root device only then was able to use the different colours.

I agree! Hopefully they would be more inclined to port BeBuzz over to Android once this device is out.

I was looking at Nova Activities for fun when I stumbled upon a screen mode option. I will attach screenshot later. When I toggled through the options nothing changed. Can someone try this out and see if this works. If my question is too vague tell me.
Here's some screenshots so y'all could try too.

That's for people with colour blindness. I think OP is looking for a way to adjust gamma, colour intensity and contrast.
Please can someone confirm if the led notification is support all colours (RGB )?
I have seen yellow and green so far when charging, haven't noticed anything else yet.
Why does the ability to have different colors on the notification light mean anything though? That is the last thing I personally care about when considering phones.
I'm not trying to be rude, just curious as to why it is important to your situation.

It's important to me. I use LIghtflow to turn on different colors, some flash at different rates, to notify me of many different things. Allows me to know if I have something that may need my attention w/o having to turn the phone on. Lack of this capability would be the straw that sends me to a different phone.

it does kinda of suck that we can't control it, and have to get a app for it, not saying it's a hassle, but asus, should of had something like this. Hopefully the custom roms that come out for this, will have this included.
I Ann a bit confused about this topic. I may have taken it wrong. I understood it to be that only the 3 Coors were possible, meaning that even with Lightflow I wouldn't be able to present other colors.
If Lightflow will be able to generate different colors, then I'm ok with it.
All colors are pretty much available if my understanding of it is right. If I remember Fom my reading a while back, multiple colors can be the.ed on at a different brightness to make different colors show up on the notification.
My note 4 only had red, green and blue and you could use the app for Samsung phones to make any color you needed.
Sadly Lightflow isn't working for me, so i'm not sure what else to use until something done to change it, if there was some kind notepad that controls all of this, i will change it.

Oooohhh...Lightflow not working. Not good.
However, I might mention that I've had problems with LF at different times with different ROMS, phones etc., and ultimately it was just finding the right settings. You might try emailing the DEVs for input.
There are other apps you can try.
Keep us posted if you get it working.

i did try others ones as well like light manager and led pro. None of them work for this... we need a dev to fix this issue up, but until everything is released from ASUS for the sources, these topics we are creating for now, will have to be halted, until this is done.
[sigh][/sigh]...It seems every phone I'm considering has a major issue, or doesn't meet the specs I want on my next phone.
Because I install so many apps and use a lot of then consistently, I want 6 GB of RAM. Sui that limits my list right there.
I've been down to the Oneplus 3, and the Asus Zenfone 3 Deluxe. The Oneplus had inaccurate GPS. And note this problem on the Asus.
Both of those issues nix a phone for me.

There are 2 versions of lightflow; btw make sure you enable notification tracking for lightflow, otherwise it will not work.
Another 6Gb phone right here: ZTE Axon 7 premium: https://www.spemall.com/ZTE-Axon-7-Dual-Sim-4GB-RAM-6GB-RAM-128GB-ROM_g.html

I of course can't test as I don't have a phone yet.
Are you saying it works with right version and the setting you mention, or just suggesting to try that?

i do have it enabled , but it not charging to the right color it post to be, is there something else i'm missing here?
sorry for double posting, but i did talk to asus support and they told me this on the LED indicator...
Unfortunately I am afraid that currently there isn't a way for you to customize the LED indicator, as it is*a combination of both HW and SW working.
For the unlock*bootloader, ASUS does not actually asssit with unlocking of the Android Bootloader. I must advise that you do so at your own risk, as once the boot loader is unloked it will void your warranty.
But if you insist to do that, we will transfer customers' wishes to the related department for further development.

I guess not until we find someone that could try to custom a way to change these colors to what we want. More info from Asus, if you want me to ask them anything else about this, let me know.
====
For the LED indicator, there are only 3 colors in zf. *Red green and yellow.*
Yellow = full charge
Green blinking = notification*
Red blinking = low battery
To turn on led notification go to settings>>display>>led on
Apps with notification light settings will not control Zf led lights as it is not allowed by Asus system and all led lights and notification are always set to their default which is indicated above.

Thanks for chasing that. I guess I finally have a "No Buy" for the Asus product. Notifications are an important aspect for the phones I use.

Yeah that deal breaker, but the phone isn't bad, and there is still a way to wake the phone up when you get a notification, if you use the app screen notifications, it will light up the phone , showing what message you get. as for the LED , yeah it will suck for now on that, despite how good everything is until they let boot loader go , so we can mod this phone.

Me too I'm going to buy Mate 9.
Running stock firmware on a ZenWatch 2 Wren. Day one the phone was weird with some ASUS watchfaces. Sometimes AMOLED black would be red/purple instead of black. Only fix was turning up the brightness, oddly enough. I've used the options in developer settings, changed the DPI via adb, etc. AoD just looks red now and I've read every solution I found. Any thoughts?
No, its a hardware thing.
