HTC tytn II (winmo) - to - HTC Hero (android) CONTACTS

Hi Guys,
I've searched the forum and Google etc.. but I can't seem to find out whether It's possible to import all of my contacts (currently around 700) from my tytn II to HTC Hero - does anyone know if this is possible and if so how please.
Cheers
I always had my tytn2 synching to outlook, when i got the hero i used htc synch to sync to outlook - job done. Note there is a new updated version of HTC sync (later than one spplied on memcard) available at HTC.
I understand another option is to sync to a google mail account then set up that account on hero to import your contacts.

Click to collapse
Thanks for that info - I have Gmail but not to keen on syncing my account 'contacts' with the phone.. although the other option of using outlook seems the way to go for me. I'll sync my outlook program (i dont use it anyway) to my phone so when it arrives on Tuesday I'll be all good to go.
Thanks again for the info
You can also consider using Nuevasync.com to sync your contacts with gmail using Activesync. This only works if you haven't set up an Exchange account.

How can I make HTC Calendar sync from other sources?

My HTC Desire is able to use the internal HTC Sense Calendar to sync from Facebook and Twitter and 'pull' people's birthdays from there and add them to my entries. So, for example, if a friend has his birthday on 9th of January, it lets me know so directly from the calendar.
On my HTC Hero (running 2.1 and Sense), the calendar does not seem to do so, and it only does the standard sync with Google Calendar (which does not have these entries as it is facebook and twitter).
Is there a way to make it work? Or is this perhaps only a feature of 2.2 Sense (my Desire is running 2.2 with Sense)?
Have you added in the facebook and twitter accounts to the sync list in settings and gone in and made sure the contact box is ticked to sync automatically ?

[Q] syncing contact's birthdays calendar with google

in Google Contacts, i have activated the "Contact's Birthdays and Events" calendar. while i can use this calendar for example in Thunderbird or even the old mobile, the calendar won't load in the SGS2's calendar app - it is not even listed as calendar at all.
some calendar widgets from the market do list the birthday calendar as "inactive", which probably means that it's currently not synced. other Google Calendars like "Week Numbers" work just fine, so it seems that the birthday calendar is not synced on purpose. from reading forum posts, it also seems possible to use this calendar in other android devices...
has anyone found a way to get the birthday calendar to work with the SGS2?

Outlook 2010 syncing issues with HTC HD2

Hi All,
I have been searching the web this afternoon and cannot find any resolution to an issue I am having and its driving me bonkers.
I have recently upgraded to Office 2010 32bit (including Outlook) and within this there is a very clever "Birthdays" view of the calendar which appears to be separate to the normal calendar. So on the PC I can see all the birthdays as all day events. However when I sync with the phone it doesn't bring this information across!
I have tried just copying the bookings from that calendar into the "normal" calendar, but it errors. I presume this must be because they are not actual calendar entrys and just created on the fly.
I am syncing using Windows Mobile Device Center via USB to my phone.
Any suggestions would be most appreciated, as otherwise I am highly likely to miss birthdays as my memory is shocking!
Have you installed OutlookConnector.exe for synchronizing Outlook with Hotmail or GoogleMail?
Do a right mouse click on birthday calendar and choose options to see to which account your birthday calendar is connected to.
For me it is connected to my Hotmail account.
Birthday calendar is not a part of the Outlook file system which is synchronized with your device, sorry.
And again I'm sorry I can copy birthday calendar entries by drag and drop or copy/paste.
The birthday view is just a view. A way to present the information in the calendar.
Built-in apps on phones typically does not support a birthday view. You can look for Pocket Informant (which is now free on WM, but the link is not easy to find), which offers lots of different views.
Or just conduct a search on birthday.
Ah thanks for the responses guys. Yes you are correct its taking it from Hotmail for some reason! Also, slightly bizzarely I just tried again to copy the birthdays across and this time its working. Very wierd.
I will also check out that pocket informant you mentioned about, keeping them split seems good if I can manage that.

[Q] How to sync HTC Tasks with Outlook?

Hi at all.
I had a HD2 (WM6.5) up to now using MS Active Sync (Mobile Device Centre) for syncing with Outlook for contacts, calender and tasks.
How does this work with One X+ (shipped ROM GER)?
HTC's Sync Manager only does contacts and calender (besides media files). Also tried to look up other tools but did not find a suiteable one so far. Also tried to sync Outlook with Google first and in a second step syncing Google with HTC Task. Did not sync at all into Task but in Calender only, which has not been to my favour...
So how?
I'd like to keep on using Outlook tasks as well as a task program on HOX+ syncing each other, together with calender and contacts of course...
Thanks for your ideas. And all the best for 2013 of course!
Cheers
