Can anyone come up with a toggle switch using MortScript or other programs to toggle between EVDO and 1X?
I have a Sprint Touch Pro, and in some areas where EVDO singnal is weak, I need to stop my phone from searching for EVDO and stay on 1X to conserve battery. Such a toggle switch will also be very useful for Sprint's Airave customers to prevent the device from searching for EVDO.
wm6 does have a feature to switch between "Hybrid", "EVDO only", and "1X only", but Sprint makes puts this feature in hidden mode to prevent people from accidentally selecting "EVDO only" mode because this mode will only allow EVDO data connection and your phone will not be receiving phone calls or SMS. To unhide this feature, do the following:
1) Obtain a registry editor (I just use PHM Registry Editor)
2) Navigate to \\\registry\HKLM\SOFTWARE\OEM\PhoneSetting\
3) Change the value of 'HiddenModeOperationPage' from 1 to 0
4) Save
5) Soft reset
6) Go to Comm Manager, click Menu, Phone Settings, Services Tab, and scroll down for "Mode of Operations". And you will see "Hybrid", "EVDO only", and "1X Only" as options that you can select.
Can anyone make a MortScript toggle switch that can switch between the "Hybrid" and "1X only" in the Mode of Operation menu?
Others have made such MortScript toggle switches for toggling between Sprint's "Automatic" and "Roaming Only" modes in the Roaming menu of wm6. For those that are interested in the roaming toggle, first re-enable the "Roaming Only" mode that Sprint deletes from the registry in wm6.1 by manually doing my steps mentioned in this XDA site (post 43) or by intalling the CAB in the "DCP Enable Roaming.zip" that is available in this SprintUsers site (post 8). Then go to this XDA site, and get the appropriate MortScript files in posts 7, 15, 18, and 27 (be sure to follow all directions in post 7 and 15).
If only someone can make a similar toggle to switch between "Hybrid" and "1X only", I would appreciate it!!!
Great News: solution found
Great news:
I found the toggle switches that intx made in another forum for wm6 and wm6.5. Just go to this PPC Geeks thread and get the appropriate MortScript file for your wm6 device. If you have wm6.5, go to this PPC Geeks thread to get the appropriate one.
If anyone can come up with a way to change the icon of these MortScript toggles, please let me know because I have two MortScript toggles now, and I like to have different icons for them.

Hi
if there a program that has widgets, which can change the network settings and turn on mobile network when pressed
i ask this because i use gsm alot and wifi while indoors but outdoors there is no need for wifi so i need a program that allows me to switch to these settings.
i actually need a prog that will change gsm to gsm/wcmda at a touch of a button, if possible also turn on modile data but the main thing is to change the gsm network mode.
thanks in advance
Hi,
I have been trying to disable the automatic toggling of the "sync" switch when the "Wi-Fi" switch is turned on or off in the power management widget. I am running CyanogenMod 7.1 on an HTC Desire (Bravo) GSM with Go Launcher Ex.
Please, see the attached screenshot. The topmost widget is the one I'm talking about.
I remember that the automatic switching of "sync" to match the state of the "Wi-Fi" switch is something that I did myself (because I went to a foreign country and I didn't want to have a huge mobile data bill). Now I can't seem to find the right option to untie the two switches and allow them to have distinct states.
Can someone guide me? Thanks.
Could someone please tell me the Defaults under the Settings in Field Test, specifically Toggle ENS, Toggle CMAS
Newbie mistake but the darn Touch Screen is so awesomely sensitive.
I fear I Toggled either the ENS or the CMAS ... Should they be On or Off?
And are there any tell tale signs as to which way they are set before and after a reboot?
I have not done anything besides exit back to home screen (did not do a reboot)
I currently have Polling = 3, Network = automatic, Limit SMS = Off, Toggle ENS= On, Toggle CMAS = Off
Also is there an FYI for what these actually do.
The first 2 are self explanatory but curious to what the other 3 are and the repercussions of Toggling them
Thanks!
P.S. I did find the meaning of CMAS RMT (Commercial Mobile Alert System)
So does this give the "Emergency Alert" setting under Messaging gain an Off option if toggled On?
(presently you have the Default: all alerts as well as Presidential Only, Presidential and Extreme alerts)
Correct
As far as I can see in my Lumia 1020, the current settings that you have are the default one.
hello,
I'm on xt1022 stock 4.4.4 unrooted and bootloader locked.
in network settings there is only option of preferred networks (2g or 3g).
i want to have 3g only, 2g only (wcdma only,gsm only) options on both my sim cards.
by dialing *#*#4636#*#* I'm able to set only sim1 as wcdma only but i require this functionality for both the sim cards.
1) is there any xposed module which would help me to get those options ?
2) is there any custom rom for xt1022 which supports 3g only,2g only options for both sim1 and sim2 ?
stock 4.4.4 and 5.0.2 don't support 3g only and 2g only modes.
i want users of custom roms (cm 11,pacman etc) to help me to find a custom rom supporting those options.
thank you.
Install GravityBox. Go quick settings management. You have to add a tile named "Network Mode" to your quick settings (those tiles you get on the reverse side of the notifications window). You can add/remove other tiles as well. You need to first enable Quick settings in GB and then reboot. After the reboot, add the Network Mode tile. Now you'll have that tile in your quick settings drawer. Tap on it to switch between 2G/3G/2G+3G (both). Long tap on the tile to change the SIM that setting applies to. You'll feel a vibration when you switch the SIM number. SIM number is indicated by "1" or "2" on the top right of the tile. This way you can force 2G or 3G on the SIM you want. Remember that although both SIMs support 3G, you can register on the 3G network of any one SIM at a time (either 1st or 2nd). The other SIM will automatically register on the 2G network.

thanks bro.
successfully implemented.
I made a thread about it .. forum.xda-developers.com/general/general/guide-set-4g-3g-mode-single-sim-dual-t3293662
I don't want to use the 5G antenna. When I navigate to:
Settings
->Network & internet
-->Mobile Networks
--->System Select
---->Network Mode
The Network Mode screen options are Global, LTE/CDMA, and LTE/GSM/UMTS. No matter which of those I select, within a few seconds, 5G shows on the top of the phone screen in the notification/status bar.
If I select LTE/GSM/UMTS, there is a Network Submode menu, which gives me 3 options: LTE/Legacy 3GPP multi, GSM/GPRS/EDGE only, and UMTS/HSPA/HSPA+. The bottom two options dont seem to work at all. The top one still says 5G in the notification/status bar, even after restarting the device.
Interestingly though, while 5G is showing at the top of the screen, when I navigate to the Network type and strength menu in Settings, it displays 4G -112dBm. Don't know why there is discrepancy between the notification/status bar display (5G) and the Network type and strength display (4G), and which one to believe. Am I not actually connected with 5G even though the notification/status bar icon says so?
Does anyone know whether or not 5G can be definitively turned off on a Verizon LG V60? Is there a code I can enter in the dialer to load a 'band selection' menu? Is there a third party app that works for the LG V60 that can accomplish this? Can I root it and accomplish this by plugging it into a computer? Or should I return this phone and buy an LG V40 without a 5G antenna instead? Thank you for your help.
did you try select network in hidden menu?
Dial *#*#4636#*#* => Phone information => Select in list . (NR is 5G)
