If anyone can provide me any information on how to fix this, your help would be greatly appreciated. Basically, i was having an issue with texting and was told the "flash dance" would correct this issue. It has, and now my phone after flashing from the "STOCK SPRINT" rom to NFSFAN'S rom (newest 16th) is stuck in roaming. I am in town full signal with my carrier's towers, but it still tells me im roaming.
EDIT: Update on my issue, I need to be on 'B' only, as well as update my PRL 30337 <- Tbaytel PRL
If anyone can guide me as to how to do this, greatly appreciated
BUMP, Somone please provide me some insight as to what to do, im getting desperate. I will donate to who ever can fix this

It is in my belief that you need to go back to the stock rom, this has a PRL update option, ultimately, you can flash to a rom that already has this installed. Either of these is easier than trying to update your own PRL (At least I think so). Once this is updated, you should be able to update your radio and then... Flash away my friend, flash away.
still struggling ...lol

Unfortunatly thats what caused my issue, i used the flash dance to correct my txting issue. Flashed back from the stock rom to my custom rom. Only issue is that no one has my carrier so when i flashed to the stock rom it loaded a default PRL and updated my PRL to SPRINT. Can I use the stock rom to pull the PRL from my carrier? The radio is unaffected by this as i can still make calls and recieve perfect signal. My phone just thinks its roaming.
ROM: NFSF 16th Newest
RADIO: TELUS
CARRIER: TBAYTEL
Back to the begging
Well due to my PRL only being available through my provider, I have to return the phone for them to flash it back to stock in order to update my PRL. If anyone knows how to extract this information i can provide it as a resource for the future. Also should i re-lock the phone before bringing it back? or just re-load stock sprint rom and leave unlocked? I doubt the tbaytel reps are smart enough to tell if its unlocked, due to the fact i told them it was there fault for shipping me the incorrect stock rom. LMAO and they beleive me

I'm just curious, but after flashing the newest sprint rom and radio, I noticed that everytime I do a soft reset, I automatically get the roam triangle. This stays on for about 10 minutes till it goes to EVDO, or 10X. I am currently using the newest DCD 3.2.0 Rom, for Sprint, and there is no difference. Does anyone know how to prevent this from going into Roam mode when you do a soft reset?
Hopefully this hasn't been answered, and I missed it. If it has, I appologize. Thanks in advance.

Do you know what version of the PRL you're using? It shows up as "PRL version" under Start->Settings->System->Device Information. Someone along the line you might have ended up with an outdated one. 60613 is the latest for Sprint EVDO-capable phones.

I can confirm that with 3.2.0 (yes...I've finally moved on from my own kitchen based from Sprint's 3.35.xxx.... ) a soft-reset consistently reverts back to Standard for the Phonerefered Serving System. Over a soft-reset it should retain the choice of Home Only.
In the registry under HKLM\Software\OEM\InitProv\PhoneSetting what can I set to retain Home Only but retain the option to switch back to Standard when travelling?
This is an issue for me since I live by the water and the US is just across a straight leaving my phone often switching between my local and a US carrier.

we probably need the previous version initprov.dll. i will look tonight. thanks for finding this
You're welcome, DCD.. Thank you!
This afternoon I may also have a chance to build a new ROM with a familiar initprov.dll and see if that resolves it.
With 3.2.0 on my Titan I just replaced the initprov.dll (v1.25.0.0) with the v1.21.0.0 (from the March Sprint release and what I was first using in my kitchen), rebooted, but still faced the problem of the phone defaulting back to Standard rather than retain Home Only.
That was without rebuilding a ROM with the older initprov version in.
...to note, the April Alltel ROM was also using this latest v1.25.0.0.

Certain dll's are self registering and some aren't. It's probably going to take a little more than just a copy/paste.

Worth a shot.. Can't rebuild until I get home......
I realize now that it is related to the radio rom. Originally I installed the NEW factory firmware/rom upgrade. Well that was when it started. So thinking it was a factory rom issue, I installed DCD 3.2.0. Still doing it. So I decided to downgrade back to 3.1.6 which was what I WAS using before the upgrade.. Still doing it. So.. .It has to be the newest radio rom. I am going to downgrade the radio back to what I had and see if that fixes it.

That's not necessarily true. It could have been something that was installed during the 3.56 factory customizations. Try flashing Sprint 3.35 stock rom/radio, let the customizations run. Then flash 3.2.0 and 3.42.02 or 3.42.30. If you're going to use the 3.56 stock rom/radio to flash 3.42.02, that's ok, just DON'T let the customizations run this time.
that was the issue with mine I ran the sighned sprint cab from the extended rom from the 3.56 "official" rom that was part of no2chems pre 2.2 after i did that my phone was stuck in roaming... Thinking it was the radio i downgraded 1 step @ a time from the 3.42.03 back to 3.39 still roaming went back to the stock radio that came with the 3.35 release still roaming when phone was booted. Figured it might be rom related @ that point so i reflashed to good ole 5069k left battery out after flash for 2 min... first boot it was roaming and would not lock onto a tower in sprint only mode... my muerom boot agent always runs the sprint carrier settings 4 me and on my second boot still no sprint signal only digital roam.. In a last ditch effort I reflashed via activesync the whole 3.35 stock rom/radio ... and wala all was fixed booted right up and even b4 the sprint custimization was started i had the evdo icon and no roaming triangle. Leaving the 3.35 stock rom on there i went forward 1 step @ a time radio wise and even with 3.39 and 3.42.02 i still got sprint coverage and evdo icon and connection. so i re-flashed to the nue 2.2 preview let it do tis sprint thing on first boot. then i did not go in and eun anything from the extended rom. No more roaming triangle. Something in the 3.56 exended rom i ran (sprint sighned whatever) Changed something in epst that dod not get reset even with flashes and hard resets till i relfashed back to stock 3.35 relaease full with radio from activesync.
So my suggestion would be that u can run the newer radio and roms just be sure to let your carrier settings run but don't touch files in the extended rom esp the file mentioned bc it stuck me in roaming and it would not get a sprint signal (home) for anything even after just letting it sit. and when setting roaming option to sprint only I would not get any bars @ all just the animated dots nest to the signal icon.
So it can't be anything in the new rom or settings in the new rom that is doing it nor the radio bc when downgrading back to stock radio from march update it did the same thing.
To fix your going to need to do a fill rom/radio flash then just pick your fav flavors after its flashed and has booted up the second time.
Boy, am I glad y'all started a thread on this. I've been trying to figure out what was wrong since this came out. My first flash of the new rom caused mine to be stuck in roaming, and sometimes it won't even come out.
I'll try what you guys suggested.
Customizations = Extended Rom
That's exactly what I said.
Ok, things a little different now. I reflashed back to the stock 3.35 Rom and let customizations run.
Then flashed just the new radio 3.42.30 from SD card
Last I flashed just the dcd 3.2.0 ROM and the carrier cab, and now no more roaming after the soft reset.
So, maybe the problem is in that radio included with the new 3.56 ROM
As long as I got it working, I'm happy

Again, it's not the radio. It's in the customizations from 3.56.

If all we had to do was not let the customizations run, why didn't someone just say that? I've been asking about this for like 3 days now.
When I tried flashing the 3.56 rom without the Customizations it still would roam, so go figure

That's because you've already let them run. They don't go away after a reflash, the same way Verizon users who let them run can't just reflash their rom to make it go away. You need to flash sprint 3.35, let THOSE customizations run. Then reflash 3.2.0.
Before you do anything though, you DO have Sprint right?
Hello everyone! I have searched a lot and after about 6 flashes back to stock and retrying I can't seem to get this to work.. Please I have searched a lot and I am just frustrated now. Here is what I am doing. I unlocked with 2.40 spl, then run sprint rom. Now I don't let it customize. 3.2 rom. then telus cab. I run auto programming on phone *22803 , 1, 1 and show successful. Phone work but no data connection. called telus and re did login for data network phone#@1x.telusmobility.com and esn number. still no data. Can someone who has the latest rom working on their mogul please give me exact instructions or lend me a hand. PLEASE PLEASE. Oh if I relocka and run telus stock rom it all works fine. That is where I am now
Cheers all!!
hey man sorry my details are kinda crappy been awhile since i did it from a stock ROM but i had the same issues...maybe do a search for my posts here and look at them they might be more helpful then my memory....
anyways get your phone locked again and back to stock telus just U NEED to do this so you know you are starting fresh...then unlock and flash with the sprint ROM to get the GPS radio u are after....then re flash with the ROM of your choice if i remember correctly there is a step in 2.40-olipro that you are not doing right where it says disconnect or reconnect or something.....but every time you do it wrong go back to stock everything.......you'll get it man trust me look at my old posts i think i said what i did wrong...and follow the instructions perfectly there is one that is easy to miss if i remember correctly
found my post for u http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=381982
and look here too

Hey Thanks so much. It is my epst settings. When I did the sprint upload I let customization go so. going back to stock worked buy everythime I went to dcd titan upgrade something kept changing even if I did not let the sprint customization run. Well I wrote down all my setting and re flashed 7th time to 3.27 and 3.16 and changed the epst settings. It is working now to flash to 3.42.20 will hope it stays this time

Among other possible problems, you definitely applied the wrong radio. v3.27 of the CDMA radio from February was only intended for builds off of a very early and leaked pre-release Sprint testing ROM.
Where did you get informatino to flash to that radio version?
So I bought a phone that was branded qwest. It is the Mogul Titan 6800 I'm not sure of the point for all the different names but it looks like the Sprint or Telus Phone (circle instead of square navigation button) Anyways I paid someone to flash it to cricket. It ended up having a Verizon splash screen and a radio version of 3.37. The person who flashed it said GPS would not work with this particular flash, and if I wanted it to work he would have to do it on his own time because the guy he worked for had a certain ROM they liked and he could not flash a GPS ROM on his boss's time.
So I flashed to Gamedics ROM and then flashed To) V3 ROM. CI could not get GPS to work with either. I then upgraded the radio to 3.42.50. Still GPS does not work. I added GPS toggle and quick GPS but they did not help either.
I read somewhere about the Verizon MR1 update and how GPS would not work with it. Is there anyway that the original flash that I got was this MR1 and for some reason it has stuch through my other flashes preventing GPS from working? Is there anything I can do to make GPS work on this phone? I also have something QPST if that helps.
Thanks in advance.
My thoughts, and it's only my thoughts, this was probably flashed to MR1, which disables GPS, when your cricket dealer flashed it, he didn't flash it back to an older Verizon stock rom first to undo the GPS lock, you might try flashing an older Verizon stock rom, let it run customizations, then take it back to the dealer and ask him to flash it again, let them do whatever rom they want, but when you get it back home and go back to GAMedics, or whoevers rom, GPS should work.
You might call the cricket guy first, make sure they won't charge you to flash it again, and if not, then do what I suggested.
Or at least ask the tech guy who did the flash for you and see if maybe their rom uses the same verizon locks.

I now have the capability to flash it myself. Could you direct me to an approbriate ROM to undo the lock? Then I can flash it back to my current ROM.
Thanks for the reply.
The only rom that I know of is the original stock Verizon rom, it's windows mobile 6.0, it will do carrier customization, which I believe it has to do in order to unlock the GPS.
Hopefully your Cricket rom restores the Cricket customizations.

Same problem here
Almost the exact same problem, but I have a Verizon branded refurbished (insurance) phone.
It had the latest Verizon ROM (6.1 - 3.37 radio) on it when I got it.
Am I able to put the Verizon 6.0 ROM on it?
I thought that would downgrade to a non-GPS radio , and that could brick the phone?
Here is my two cents... I Have xv6800 on VZW and Verizon users always had a hard time with GPS until GC figured out a GPS setting you had to apply with QPST. Its in the "HTC Titan Links/Information - PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING ANYTHING" section sticky in this forum. Since then I use Baf GPS toggle today screen plugin to toggle GPS on or off. It always locks in 2 or 3 seconds. It looks like you said you are on cricket and I don't know if there are similar settings to apply with QPST. This all assumes you haven't flashed the MR1 Verizon upgrade, you are on a 3.something radio and are using a GPS enabled ROM (most if not all in this forum are). I never messed around with the MR1 upgrade so i don't know about it. Flashing back to the original verizon wm6.0 ROM in my case has involved re-locking the phone, and flashing the original ROM (which includes the original Verizon radio), then un-locking again, flashing the latest radio, then a wm6.1 ROM.
If you do some searching on this forum you can find answers to most of your questions.
Thanks. I have searched, but it was unclear whether I should downgrade to a non-GPS rom/radio (I've read that it's dangerous).
The guide I read here was actually pre-GPS rom release.
I went ahead and did downgrade, and then upgraded radio and installed a custom rom.
Now I get super fast locks.
Thanks again.
Upgraded Rom on Sprint Touch Pro No Signal
Any help would be appreciated after upgrading the ROM on my Touch Pro i no longer have any signal i then proceeded to flash back to the stock rom and still no signal i used the proper unlocker upgraded the ROM and Radio it worked the first time with the exception of the PCS data services i kept getting an error 66 I called Sprint Tech support and they had me do a ##786# now i have no signal
Anyone any ideas ?
Thank you
##786# is the "Return to Mfgr Default" settings. Basically, after you've done all this, you might want to check to see if the radio was installed correctly on the phone. Otherwise, I'd try and reflash back to a stock Sprint ROM. Also, check to see if the phone is programmed. If not, go to Start>Settings>Connections Tab>Update Profile. That'll initiate OMA programming over the sprint network.
I tried installing the another radio i cant initiate over the air updates as I have no signal whatsoever the phone operates fine otherwise do you think its a radio problem what would you recommend

i have this exact same problem i had the unlocked phone with bell stock rom leaked and i installed energy rom. now im getting no signal on the phone...the wifi and bluetooth work but i cant receive send/send call and the phone search for signal and than a "!" appear beside de signal icon
need HELP !
You guys flashing in bootloader mode? Are you hard resetting after the flash? You of course have the correct hspl installed first? Is this the first rom flash you've tried or have you done others without incident? Have you tried the latest sprint radio 1.12xx. I found this to give me the best rf yet. Currently running psyki rom, but have tried all with no issues. Can you sync with your computer ok. If so do you have another rom you can reflash to? I always have a few saved for a reflash if the new flash goes south on me.
First , Id like to apologize if this is posted in the wrong area. I've done quite a bit of digging and am not able to find any real information on this subject. Basically I was inquiring if it is possible, links, and or steps to dumping/copying my PRL file as well as the stock shipped rom to my PC. I know you may be wondering why? Well, because my provider is TbayTel and I've gone through a situation where a "flash dance" was needed to fix my ROM issue's I was experiancing. Upon doing this I ended up flashing my PRL to the stock shipped Sprint rom one. Sure there are many prl files available, as well as the steps to manually updating them but my provider is one of the few that a PRL file is unavailable. Called up my provider service center, they will not provide me this as they have NO IDEA what im talking about. Once I explained the situation they obtained a basic idea of what I was talking about. Great thing is they manually program this into your phone as well as every other setting. So it required me bringing the phone in and having them look at it. So I attempted to reflash a stock rom and lock my phone. No stock Tbaytel rom (Custom edited Sprint rom). So i loaded a stock sprint rom, convinced them it was there fault for shipping me that, but was unable to lock my phone. I believe this is because they orignal settings could never match unless I reloaded my actual stock Tbaytel rom and ovbioulsy they wont hand this out willingly. So with my stock Sprint rom phone with no settings (Phone was stuck in activation process), and unlocked I proceded to the customer service building. Took alot of manipulation lol, but there fixing it and having it back to me by monday. So with this said and my problem (finally ) being resolved. I would like to do this to add that material as a resource to this community. Also feel free to comment on my escavade as well as tell me if i could have done something diffrent.
P.S: Thank you to all who have or are inputing into this. (Have for the people who aided in the past with those issue's stated above.) This is a great community and I hope I can provide these files to help improve something!
Use CDMA workshop to copy your PRL and save it. Flashing your phone shouldn't involve touching your PRL though.
You should run through your registry to obtain your data settings, and mms settings if any.
Thanks
Thank you for all your input/help. Only question left is , how do i dump my stock shipped rom? As for the PRL being updated, it happened when i flashed to the stock sprint rom and hard reset. Auto updated my PRL to 60613 i beleive it was.
You dont need your stock rom. You only need your data and mms settings. You can find these in a quick registry dump.
Thank you
Thank you for your prompt responses. If that is the case , then my final question to you is. After i complete a registry dump, am i able to apply the reg file to any other rom. In doing this will it mess with the custom rom? (like there must be pre-configured settings static to the registry of the rom of choice right)?
