I have a Prophet (G4 version) which I flashed some time ago to the original (dutch) ROM (WM5). It came from a perfectly working WiMo 6.5, but I wanted to try the original ROM. I know that was stupid.
Now, it is impossible to flash any other ROM to it. When I flash a ROM, it succesfully completes, but on reboot it hangs on the tri-colored screen, with:
IPL: 2.20.0001
SPL: 2.20.0001
I tried flashing NVID, but then the original ROM just boots up.
I also tried flashing HardSPL, but the IPL/SPL stay the same ??
I don't know how to get it working again, it was working fine before, and I thing it wasn't showing 2.20.0001 then.
What else can I do to fix it ?
Found it!
1. First, hard-rest your device
2. Then, start the NVID flash.
3. Let the device reboot.
4. Start the HardSPL by dubbelclicking on 'HardSPL.bat'.
The problem was that in the other sticky guide, they said we needed to run "ROMUpdateUtility_NV_G4.exe" to HardSPL, but you needed to start "HardSPL.bat"
Now it says:
SPL: 2.G4.4PDA
Perfectly
Congratulation
Some device can not change SPL even you try hardSPL . SPL is always .001 - mine is sample - strange problem but I don't care 'cause I still flash custom rom ( I did with all WWE rom in this forum on mine ).

It's patched SPL 2.20
1. Run SSPL (SoftSPL) - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=347348
2. Flash HardSPL for your DOC
Yes, really was not hard to patch.. glad it worked))) so, this disables CID and some other checks, so you can flash any custom rom
i have hard SPL/IPL 3.08 will ir work?
newbe here.
What does device root mean?
is it my prophet?
is root windows directory
Looks promissing.
So, as I understand, you don't have to "downgrade" your firmware everytime you want to try a new ROM?
This looks great.
You made our life much easier I think this should be a Sticky
for those of you who dosen't really know what this does.
follow the procedure (soft SPL then hard SPL) and you would never ever need any extra steps before upgrading to wm6.
EDIT: Okay I made it easier. I made a batch file to do the work. (Soft SPL then Hard SPL)
just run the Upgrade_SPL.bat from your PC. It will do the Soft and Hard SPL
Thanks Prislav for this great work
Test to patch a G4 prophet : ok
IPL and SPL version seem differents
IPL : 2.10.00
SPL : 2.G4.4PDA
Test to flash my proper ROM : ok for the moment.
Whaô, WM6 update with progress bar, Fantastic.
Reflexion :
Rom update launched from WindowsMobile synchronised with ActiveSync with patched RUU for Wizard.
My Prophet seems to be reconized by the RUU like a Wizard but upgrade work.
Finally :
Perfect job Prislav it work like a charm, our Prophet are now like other recents HTC devices. It rock : only 10minutes to flash a ROM with special SplashScreen
Now :
Flash just finished, all is ok Prislav, you are the BOSS
Question :
Do a patched RUU for Vista exist ?
Perfect for G4 Prophet...
Wooo! Done!
WOW!
I just tried this, and it's amazing! I tried flashing my Original ROM and it worked. Even the SPL was updated. The only thing that it didn't change was IPL. If you broke your phone and have warranty, this is THE easiest way to get the Vendor ROM back. I would even venture to say this is the best tool yet for Flash-a-holics. Thank you so much!
Sounds great, but what about warranty?
Do we lose it if we change hard spl?
worth to try....
This is really an evolution (or is it revolution? ).
lol this removed my spl 3.08,really amazing tool, thanks prislav, big thanks.
IS HardSPL necessary if CID Unlocked ???
I CID unlocked my G4 M600 with the known paid service.
So do i need to HardSPL my phone and why???
Please somebody explain...
as i think,if you have hardspl, you will never be able to brick your phone.correct me if i was wrong.
Can a G4 be bricked? I was under the impression that the G4 was unbrickable. All the bricks I've ever heard of were G3 devices. I mean one can get stuck at bootloader and the like, but I've always got my phone back. Even had a Wizard ROM on there, and even that didn't brick it (although that time I thought it was toast!)! Like zeroed said, it will help you get your SPL back if you have that problem, and I think it's just an amazing tool for flashing in general.

Anyone pleaassseee ?????
I just need to be totally shure about this.. If i run this hard spl thingy patch on my G4 prophet i do not need to downgrade to wm5 everytime i want to try a new wm6 rom, if i currently are using a wm6 rom ?
And how do you guys flash a wm6 rom with the RUU utility ? I haven't seen any WM6 rom yet using RUU..
Just a little confused, sorry!
You wont need upgrading to wm5 - i recommend that you never flash full roms to avoid spl reflashing after hard-spl. the best practice will be to use nb2nbf to generate nbfs for your os, splash and gsm separately
Wait a second. Why should we avoid SPL reflashing after HardSPL??? I already flashed back to my original SPL and re-flashed HardSPL without any problem. What is the danger of doing this?

1. Load HARDSPL V7 on your device. (Read the WIKI to know how to do that)
2. Flash your device using original ROM.
3. Downgrade IPL and SPL of your device.
4. Downgrade to SPL 1.10.oli ---> http://www.mrvanx.org/files/SPL/HERM_SPL1.10.oli_Only_CustomRUU.rar
5. Downgrade to SPL 1.04 or 1.06 :
(SPL 1.04, IPL 1.00 ---> http://www.mrvanx.org/files/SPL/HERM_SPL1.04_Only_CustomRUU.rar)
(SPL 1.06, IPL 1.01 ---> http://www.mrvanx.org/files/SPL/HERM_SPL1.06_Only_CustomRUU.rar)
Hi, I have been running Gollum's Prophet Touch VII on my M600 for ages now and fancied a change, I decided to dl varanusvincent's 'my diamind edition 2' and ran the g4 rom update that came with it, my m600 now is sat in the 3 colour bootloader screen with IPL 2.10.0001 and SPL 2.20.0001 and I cant get it to do anything, hard reset just puts it back to the bootloader screen, can ANYONE help me please or have I wrecked it by trying to install a new rom?
thanks
Mike
I've reset it again and it is now stuck on the 'qtek keep the world as one' screen with ipl and spl in the top left corners, the uodate programmes all say that is disconnected if i try and use them any ideas??
have you read how to upgrade it????
You haven't HARDSPL.
READ HERE to recovery your Prophet
I have already read over that entire post before I put this on, didnt want to look an idiot - no luck there then!
I have tried to use the hard spl folder upgrade and it still only gives me the 3 colours bootscreen after a hard reset, step 2 says use bootloader mode and flash pvtemp but I've looked everywhere for pvtemp and cant find it to dl

with SPL information that you said. It said, that your Device is not HARDSPL already.
You have to succesfully HARDSPL your Device first.
And after that you wont face anyproblem again.
Download :
PDVIET Temp
Is your Device CID Lock?
So I dl PDAViet, flash with that, run HARDSPL with my new .nbf in that file and I should be ok? No idea about CID lock, thanks for helping

So you have to Flash your ROM now with PDA Viet Temp first. This will bring your device to WM5 No Vendor.
You have to flash it through bootloader mode, since your device now stuck up.
After that , HARDSPL your Device.
Read better thread from animelover. Here
If your Device is a G3, SPL Information will be changed into 2.G3.4PDA or for a G4 is 2.G4.4PDA
And after your Device HARDSPL ready. Run the Upgrade tool from My ROM. So you wont stuck up again.
It should run.
thats great, im running pdaviet now, read the page about hardspl too so i'll install this, turn on my m600 and run hardspl g4 followed by your rom - thanks!!

If you have HARDSPL.
And Your SPL Information changed into 2G4.4PDA .
No need to install PDAViet again.
Just run the installer from the cooker.
Anyone experienced this situation? Half year ago i have made Hard-SPL for my wizard because my 2 year warranty at T-Mobile finished. After i made Hard-SPL everything went good, i flashed many roms with no problem. My last rom is Slim Diamond edition which i wanted to change for new TNT now. But i cannot get to bootloader through RUU and i tried to get there manualy but my Wizard always freezes on a black screen. I have to get out the battery, wait few second, push battery back, and switch on the device. My wizard boots normaly, OS works normaly and i can do everything with no problem. But flashing is restricted area now! Anyone know what to do with this ?
Ok i find the solution by myself. It seems like that Hard-SPL do not really unlock wizard to flash any rom you want. All i had to do was to flash original ROM, from manufacturer, but the original ROMs usualy contains IPL and SPL which would brick the device if it is Hard-SPLed. So i tried to extract the original ROM, removed IPL and SPL images, and tried to flash just OS but flashing process was stuck every 43 % and i had to remove battery and start again. So this was not working too :-( So one czech ROM cooker helped to flash his ROM 1.1 CID-locked editionwhich contains only OS, splash screens and ExtROM. Maybe here presented LOVE Rom should wotk to. So all i must do before flashing new WM6.1 ROM on Hard-SPLed Wizard, is to flash original rom without IPL and SPL (it is important!!) and then i can flash everything i want. If i do not do it i cannot enter the bootloader to flash. Maybe it is normal but i did not read it before, all cookers recomends to flash original OS before flashing new one, but i thought it is just for to be sure that all will be flashed well.http://fenix.metronet.cz/johnny/download/ROM 1.1 CID-locked edition by ppctuning.org.exe
My Cingular 8125 G4
IPL: 2.21.0001 (notice difference?)
SPL: 2.25.0001
GSM 02.25.11
OS:2.26.10.2
AKU: 2.3
Will I have any problems flashing RUU_Wizard_225111_22511102_022511_CWS_WWE_Ship_1.exe Rom to my phone.
Do I use SoftSPL or just use RUU.exe above?
I tried to flash with SoftSPL I keep getting a ERROR [238] : FILE READ. I really want to flash it back to the original rom. I don't think it is going to happen.
Would flashing (AT&T 8125 G4 IPL&SPL) to my phone fix or brick. I have been able to flash the Wizard Love Rom without any trouble. I just can't seem to go back to the original. Somebody help!
You need to apply HardSPL to your phone, or use SoftSPL in order to flash to a new ROM on a G4.
I have tried to use SoftSPL to flash the AT&T 2.25.0001 rom to my phone but I keep getting an error.
What would flashing the (AT&T 8125 G4 IPL&SPL) do to my phone?
If you are sure that the ROM is your device's original ROM, then you can flash it directly, however you need to uninstall HardSPL first, or you will get a brick!
Flashing matching carrier ROM does not need HardSPL or SoftSPL.
I have successfully flash the IPL/SPL. I still can't get the Original Rom to flash back on. I get a read error #238 every time.

ERROR 238 (File Read): Make sure the ROM is not in use by any other program such as a hex editor.
Did you get back to matching IPL/SPL? Which did you get?
To get back to my Cingular ROM I used SoftSPL to flash just the IPL/SPL and then ran the RUU that came with the WM5 ROM update. There is a forum that has the IPL/SPL only nbf files for several phones. They may be on the FTP site.
Good luck.
I thought I had to flash the original with SoftSPL by dropping the .nbf file into the SoftSPL folder. Can I actually just run the RUU_Wizard_225111_22511102_022511_CWS_WWE_Ship_1.exe rom?
It worked I am back to the way I got her! Thanks for the info. XDA-DEV rocks!
