Hi,
i cooked a file, that change the following into german language:
Keyboard layout
Suggested words dictionary
Spellcheck dictionary
Symbols List
I testet it with any english rom and it works perfect for me.
And NO: Windows will still be in english.
Means,
you can use an english ROM, but everything except the menue works "german" now?

Can you give information about the rom version you used?
I tried it on the 1.34 Cingular and didn't worked. In fact none of the tips I found to change keyboard language are working till now.

Yes If I have time, I could do it for any language that I found. Mhh, maybe with a REAL changer-mode.

I could not test it with Cingular 1.31 and 1.34, because I have bootloader 1.04 and dont want to "upgrade" to 1.06...
Only the keyboard layout does not work or all of the 4 points does not work?
Seems that none of them is working.
I had the same issue when I tried to hack the registry to change the keyboard manually. it never changes.

I updated the installer (automatic installation in device) and compressed it a little bit.
Download in Top post.
This works with WM XDA Live too.
You only have to rename the "sym.txt" in "sym.0409.txt" in Windows Folder.

And so I decided to make a installer for Crossbow too.
I also renamed it "German Input" (it's a little bit clearer).

Yes, you need the "MSIMDE.DLL" (and i think MSIMDE.96.DLL) for German Soft Keyboard and a lot of registry keys.
I have found a MSIMDE.DLL in Internet (without the MSIMDE.96.DLL) and
i have test it, but it don't work for me... i hope someoe can help here.
Perhaps someone can extract this files from a WM5 ROM for testing...

I'm ready to help and do some testing too
got two french Hermes devices with AZERTY keyboard
one running WMXL v0.10 ROM, one running 'original' french Vodaphone ROM
I tried the registry tweaks explained in the Wiki
to switch my keyboard layout to french/AZERTY
it worked with every WM5 ROM but not with WM6...

I successfully have upgrade my MDA Compact II (Charmer) to Chris Becks WM6.1. Now the keyboard layout and T9 is in English. Does anyone have an idea how to change the keyboard layout and T9 language to German? Is there a German language pack for WM6.1?
Any ideas highly appreciated.

Hello!
There are no language packs, thats an english ROM.
If you want to change this you have to install either a translated ROM,
or you use an additional program. Search this Site for "German Input".
You will find a CAB File with German Transcriber and Inputs.

Hello everybody,
I just installed a WM6.5 Rom on my HTC Touch Pro...
It's working fine, except for the keyboard layout. I wanna change it to German.
Under: Settings --> Input, i chose german, but it's still not working.
And my "FN" button openes the calender...
Can anybody help ???

I Use Froyo v3.3 and have a problem with the german hardware keyboard qwertz,
i have qwertz download for 3.3 and with xrecovery installed. But when i press z come y and when i press y come z .. help??

My Ace is running the StockLite v7.1 Rom and I really like it but it has the English qwertz keyboard.
I tried to change it to German but the keyboard is still in English.
How can I change it to German ?

StockLite is deodexed so you should download the deodexed keyboard
I tested it and it works well and "y" and "z" are back in right position
Looking for qwertz too I alreadz tried so use kezboard apk of a dbt firmware, didnt work..
