Remember that magenta case that the Pure was shown in at Engadget before its release? It's a thin, rubberized plastic case.

http://cgi.ebay.com/BLACK-SILICONE-...wItemQQptZPDA_Accessories?hash=item45efad84eb
Thanks, 'bout time they got this out. I already wasted $20 on e-bay ordering one from Japan but for Topaz, not Pure.
Here's the shots, basically you have rubberized plastic for $14.99 or hard plastic and silicone for $12.99.
I have the silicon case that a lot of people sell on ebay. It's pretty good, but it's thick, and it tends to snag when you slide it into your pocket. Plus, the bottom buttons are not that easy to access because the silicon case is so thick. You have to point your finger at the buttons directly or it's difficult to press talk/end/back/windows.
I also have one of the snap together covers, which just arrived from eBay about two days ago. I don't know if these are all made from the same manufacturer, but the snap together cover that I got (made with the rubberized plastic that everybody advertises and sounds like such a great idea) is pretty much crap.
The inner part of the cover is not even painted black, which means you can see white through the side cutouts when it's installed on the phone. I kept this on my phone for all of three minutes. It's not even worth the few dollars I paid for it. Again, I don't know if there are multiple manufacturers, but the one I got is really really poor quality.
I would like to try the single back cover that the OP linked at the top of this thread. I haven't tried one of those yet.
thanks guys for reviewing and commenting.
as you all, I'm also sick of wasting precious $$ on all sort of promises and nice pictures.
so, can we say the final verdict is on the one part case? (as posted in the first post)
thx

I agree. I'm sick of wasting money on junk. I didn't mention in my above post that I also bought an HTC OEM neoprene pouch that fits my Pure perfectly and that I got for about $5 on eBay. So I've been using that when I go jogging and don't want the Pure to be flipping around in my pocket.
The next best thing I like is the silicon case, which is just a little bit builky but has a great hand feel to it and fits really well. It's also completely impervious to fingerprints. The only drawback here is the button-pressing and the snagging as you push it into your pocket.
I suppose the ideal case would be the one mentioned in the first post, if it's well made and you use a clearprotector for the top of the Pure (which I do use). I think I might wait until the price comes down on these from $14.95 to something more reasonable, given my experience with the other "rubberized" junk case that's now sitting in the trash.

ooohhh...that looks tempting...
i have that in clear and smoke... both are nice... only problem is sometimes junk in my pocket gets stuck under the case... but you can pop it off real quick and clean it...
nice looking!
Dammit. I wish I had one of those before I dropped my phone so many times
Those look nice but...
Do they afford any protection. I have been thinking about one of those Innopocket Metal case, but those cases look a lot nicer. Anybody have any saves with those cases???

If anyone has tried these, please review.
Thanks.
i bought the one listed above. it's okay, still is a bit bulky.. fitment is descent.. feels a little lose. i might just buy a new oem faceplate instead
you mean the rubberized one? does it fall off? does it provide protection?
the oem faceplate seems like just a replacement for the original housing?
what would be the point? to save the original for resale?

Please give a review I am considering this one too.
WOW...It will be very nice to be a bier for my dead herald.
Black, rubberized version, came same week, 10 bucks shipped, best case I ever seen snaps right on, skin close, thin, looks awsome, as if it was part of the design, NO TMOBILE LOGO!!!, no interfereance with opening the keyboard and a small difference with access to side buttons like camera, etc,. still comfortable, and in my opinion good for preventing accidental pressing...
Just too bad the invisible shield didn't come on time for my relative to bring it here... Then I would feel all around protected with the best there is.
Upgrade to Touch Flow 2.3 (Thanks to Itje!) bricked twice, stuck on Tmobile screen. Reason was expected since Vista is known to brick. The link to Modaco didn't have any possitive effect. Successful upgrade from my XP machine, first try.
The only issue now is that sometimes it is found to be turned off when I don't remember turning it off, usually when I take it out of my pocket.
And when I try to set up Windows Live Mail it just goes to home screen, which sucks since I want Live Mail on it. Any suggestions are appreciated.
I overclocked to 247 and Skype mobile works great. Just took a while to find the 2.2 Low CPU version... http://www.skype.com/download/skype/mobile/21beta.html It says needs 400 mhz, but worked fine without overclock...
Was surprised that Battery Status program was in the WIndows folder and no shortcuts... How are shortcuts made anyway?
In general very happy with the machine!
Any suggestions appreciated...

Avoid the metal cases. Had one for a few months for my Wing, signal strength is knocked down (with associated drop in battery life since the cell radio has to work harder, 25% reduction in battery life for me!), Bluetooth range drops to only about 5 feet before static creeps in, etc.
The protection is good with the metal cases, but you pay a high price in performance for the protection.
Black rubberized case in Tmobile holster?
Those of you who got the Black Rubberized Case, is the case thick enough to protect the protruding Green/Red call buttons from being pressed when they're in the OEM Tmobile holster? Pictures on ebay don't show the sideways view, so I can't tell how thick they are. thanks
After trying several cases/pouches including the official C300 leather case (too bulky) and a cheapo faux leather pouch that marked the white casing of the phone I have finally found this:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/NEW-GENUINE-L...ches?hash=item3ca4b454a3&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14
Its a pretty tight fit but you can yank the tab to pull the phone out.

Ouch, hope you can find something that you like!
I have been in search of a good case too, and I think I'm going to go with a foof pouch from Foof Shop. Another user of these forums got it and said it fits perfectly in an iPhone/iTouch size. Just a suggestion for you, if you like the style.
It's a shame my favorite company, Switcheasy, is staying Apple only
Waiting for beyzacases myself - their diamond one was superb.
I'm using a large Luna pouch by Krusell. Paid about £12 for it on a buy it now from ebay and would happily recommend.
It's a good quality soft leather case and while it wasn't purpose built for the hero, it is as you can see a pretty snug fit

I can lightly hold case upside and gently shake without the hero falling out, but at the same time I don't need to wrestle the case to remove the phone. Only downside was the quality control sticker left a sticky mark on the leather when I peeled it off (which washed away with a little liquid soap).
Wish I had a black Hero. The white one gets marked without trying.
I might get my girlfriend to make me one of these:

thanks; would you please confirm whether you got the Large or the Extra Large Luna, please?
MF recommends the Extra Large, for the Hero, but you mentioned only the Large.
Looking at the sizes there's only a few mm in it; I really don't want another pouch that the phone falls out of though
thanks again...
Foof is Ideal
I recommended the foof case, and the more I read with problems with other cases the more I'm glad I use this one. The interior is white fleece absolutely no chance of staining and great protection for the device. I've still heard all my notification sounds through the case and the black and white patterned cloth looks great. Its also washable.
thanks; I love the foof cases: I was going to get one for my MBP, but my wife made me something very similar herself, just as good (or better .
Which foof case exactly did you get for the Hero? How snug a fit is it?
thanks again.

Bought it from these guys:

thank you both.
I got a "Golla" case from the Carphone Warhouse, it's a nicely padded thing, never had one before only £9.99 - bargain
I got one of these:
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/WHITE-Gel-Ru...Q5fMobilePhonesCasesPouchesQQsalenotsupported
It fits really well and is cheap as hell. It also makes it large enough (and increases the drag coefficient enough) so that it feels secure in my old G1 pouch.
Hi All,
Could someone link me to a one piece case that is made out of hard plastic?
I've searched over 1000 on ebay and couldnt find any!
I like the hard plastic 1 piece case since they are usually slim.
Thank you!
Sprint has one! I finally found one! its 28 dollars tho. Only comes in purple but has kick stand on it! it is made by Body Glove, I went to their site and they dont even have the Evo 3D listed =\

I got the red Body Glove and love it. I generally don't do cases but once I slid it on I couldn't take it off. Sorry don't have a picture. It was 28 bucks I think but got it for 20 with my discount. Got it at the sprint store.
Bought one (pink) for the wife today. It was $24.99 at my local Sprint store, fit nice and tight. I like that you can prop it up either way in landscape mode, so charging while "kicked up" is possible.

Wow, how these places charge $28 bux for a piece of plastic is beyond me. I feel bad selling our TPU cases for $8.95! $28 and I'd feel like a con artist.

I ordered the green thru your site.
The site was dog slow, i was afraid paypal was gonna time out on me. I was starting to wonder if i tried to order right as someone started scheduled maintenance or something.
But it appears to have gone thru, so now it's time to wait and see.
my only concern is that if these (or any) cases trap heat. I sorta like having the exposed metal bezel that seems to behave as a heatsink. Either way I'm glad to have a device that isn't a slider so i have a lot to choose from.
I personally would love to find something similar to the iLuv snap-on cases for the ipad and ipod touch. they cover the back and corners and sit flush with the screen. But for $9 I can't go wrong.
Got my TPU case today. Wish i knew it was local, i could have probably picked one up same day.
but shipping was extra quick, and the was exactly what i was hoping it would be. Firm and flexible, not squishy like a silicon case. The fit is real tight and everything lines up real well. The top camera hole is ever so slightly off-center, but is barely noticeable and does not affect functionality at all. You would really have to stare at it to see it.
The case itself is glossy and not sticky, but still has plenty of grip. I could see it getting slippery with greasy fingers.
The firmness is reassuring that it won't pop off. It reminds me a lot of the iLuv case I had on my ipod touch before i switched to a snap-on back cover.
Overall I think the TPU case is a great value. I hope the company can remain profitable at this pricepoint, but given that most cases seem to start at $20, I think there's room to grow and still compete.
Here is another case I found during my search for unique, high-end cases for our phones. The company who makes it is AG Findings. They own Ballistic, so it's not some no-name company. It is a TPU case with a leather inlay on the back that adds some sturdiness and refinement to a standard TPU case. I actually ordered this case and it should be here Thursday. I'll post pictures when I get it.
Again everywhere I've looked says it fits I777...so we will see.

I use this case, it's holding up well. AT&T actually carries this one in the store, which is where I purchased it.

I see it for $16 on Amazon w free shipping. I already have a couple of other cases, including the Casemate pop stand (white) and Incipio Featherlight case. While I liked the Pop up stand, it's a bit bulkier than I'd like. Any idea how this one compared to the Casemate pop up case? I like the look, guess I'll do some more research before pulling the trigger on this one.

I think its about as slim as you can get while still having reasonable protection. Id say its definitely slimmer than the pop. Its a classic looking and understated case and feels great in the hand. I'll try and get some pics up tomorrow evening.
Any luck with taking some pictures?

Yeah it is nice. It fits pretty tight and feels good in the hand. The material is smooth to the touch and doesn't snag in pockets. I found it on Amazon for around $12 if I remember correctly. The hole at the top for the headphone jack may not work with some headsets. For example in my car my AUX cable has to be shoved into it with some force to get it plugged in, but once in it stays there. You could always use a hot nail to open the hole up a bit.
I'll probably bore it out with my Dremel
Got my case in today. So far, I'm really digging it. The buttons are a little tougher to press, but I'm getting used to it.
The case is a little tough to get on/off, at least at first. I do like that the case is VERY snug. The case has a good feel to it, although it could have a little more grip to go with the texture. It's also surprisingly light.
I also have a Case-mate Pop Case and an Incipio Feather Ultralight Case, so I decided to take pictures to compare all three.
The Incipio Feather case is by far the slimmest, next is the Magnate, then the Case-Mate case. I paid $25 for the Case-Mate, $21 for the Incipio, and $15 for the Magnate, although the Magnate said $35 on the box and arrived in the official AT&T store packaging.
While the Incipio case was the lightest, it also offered the least protection. I'd probably rate the Magnate case and Case-Mate the same as far as Protection goes. I couldn't be much happier with this case.
Hey All. Got my Amaze yesterday and its already up and running on the Energy ROM with faux kernal; thanks to those respective devs. With the flashing out of the way for now, time to look into some cases. As everyone is aware, amaze is not the lightest or thinnest phone, so a case with minimal weight would be desireable. I ran into a matte snap on case from ebay, wanted to know if anyone here has any feedback on these. I am not going after the price (I am open to spend whatever for the ideal case), but more so on the "thin" part. Sadly, I can't post the url due to my noob status, but its easily searchable under "Matte BLACK Hard Snap On Thin Back Case Cover For HTC T-Mobile Amaze 4G".
Looking forward to being part of the Amaze community!
I have a two piece black rubberized case on my one amaze, and a one piece hard case on the other one. Both are light, and fit pretty good. the two piece fits tighter, and has cutouts for all the mic holes on the back cover etc. and they all line up. its just a cheap ebay case. And both are thin. Any cheapie case you get on ebay will be light, and the best part is after a couple months just pay $3-5 and get a new one.
The one piece doesen't cover the top and bottom of the phone, just the sides, so it won't protect as well as the two piece, and if I ever have to pop the two piece apart to get at the back cover, it comes apart easy.
I'd get a cheap two piece, try it out. if you need more protection, then upgrade, but i'd start at ebay.
Be careful with some of the cheap ebay snap-on cases. I got one for a previous phone that was front and back pieces that snapped together. It was thin and looked OK but it would pop open when dropped and the phone would come out and land unprotected. It was ok for scratch protection and keeping the screen off the table but provided very little to zero drop protection.
Thanks for the info. Yeah I have to consider the drop protection. When I was searching youtube for cases, the videos were showing cases which was huge. Yes it protects the phone, but it’s very uncomfortable to carry around. Might have to try some on from the local mall kiosk if anything.
I just went with a cheap ebay case from eforcecity and I'm satisfied. I think I paid $6 shipped and it came with a screen protector.
I got one from ebay that is really good, it comes with a holster. Trust me, thiz isnt like the ones that are cheap made and snaps when minimal force aplied to it. This is high quality. Not bulky either.

I too have this case, it works great. I have not noticed any difference in my network connection signal strength which was a concern and has provided good protection for the phone in its couple of drops. I work in a hydraulics shop with hardened concrete floors and it has held up well. As a side note the case also holds up well when exposed to mineral and petroleum based hydraulic fluids.
