Hello,
I''m kinda new into ROM flashing and am curious to know if the HTC Touch Dual i got from my father in law is flashable with a new unbranded dutch ROM.
This model is now Vodafone branded and i want to use it with an other provider. I also don't like the presettings of Vodafone and the startup Vodafone image.
I found several links for unlocking and reflash a new ROM but don't know were to start. So I have the following questions:
How can I make a back-up of the current ROM?
How can I flash a new ROM? (I've downloaded the Nike_Original_NLD_ROM_v1.31.404.09_Patched_Touch_DLL.exe)
If 2 isn't possible how can I unloch the Touch Dual?
I'm very greatfull for any advise!
Thanks,
Pinobird
Also looking forward to these answers, almost same problems here

After that you can flash your Rom's.
As for back-up, I don't know, but it has been posted, more than once.
Also learn to read sticky threads and search.

Please guys. Shipped ROMs are in the WIKI's. There are plenty of post and threads concerning them as well. Closing this thread as I don't see how it has a purpose of continuing.
Hello,
New to the forum, and this is probably a noob question, but after trawling through loads of threads on here my head is spinning and i need some advice!
I decided to upgrade the ROM of my hd2 today as i am having problems with sending sms. i bought the phone second hand recently. It is sim unlocked and there is no carrier branding on the phone that i have noticed.
I tried to get a ROM from the htc site and got the not suitable message, long story short after speaking to htc i found my phone is from the Czech republic.
Now i have had a look at the ROM flashing tutorial and i am confident with doing it, however i am unsure about whether or not i need to use the Goldcard method?
Can i download the latest ROM from the UK HTC site and put it on my phone just using the Hardspl method here?
Thanks for any help offered, and sorry if this has been asked before, but i couldnt find an answer to my question.

Hi, i recently bought a HTC Aria and am having a few annoyances with it, for instants its operating system is in Chinese instead of USA but it does allow me to change the language to English which is great but all of the pre-installed apps are not and i was wondering what i could do to have the phone changed to the USA version if possible please and thank you
set s-off, and flash a different firmware, which is English!
Pretty much what the above poster said. Look in the Aria development section - lots of custom (English!) ROMS to choose from, and most of the time they'll have good tutorials to help newbies out.
s-off and re-brush into the new ROM

No! You cannot exchange stock roms of an Indian based DX with a East European stock roms. The first error you will get is CID mismatch. You may know CID means country ID. As such the CID of Indian DX is HTC__038 and that of East European varies. Most likely HTC__040 etc.
Still a lot needs to be done on the DX, and the path to recovery, should anything goes wrong is not so smooth, as only official stock for East Europeans roms are only made available.
Thanks alot for quick answer. Ill forward it to friend with recommendation that his mum should at least learn basic english
