- Enterprise...Do I need it? - Nope but you wont get things like VPN level security. I beleive its for corp users on a corp network.
- SqlCelMobile...Do I need it? Nope. Its a sequel database app I believe. If you program databases for a living this may come in handy.
Ascsoft MMS 5.0.31.7 - I dont know but assume it would if you knew specifically the settings that your carrier uses. PS Dont expect them to tell you if you ask.
Can I unchecked Camera 4.05.29446.00? You should not even be able to check both at the same time. If you can you must pick one or the other. Note: Version 5 does not have flash but heard rumors around here the pic quality is better. IO personally like the 5.0 version because it has a slightly updated look.
HTC Homeplug - I find it useless, I think it puts screen rotate, back light brightness and something else on the today screen. You can install it then just disable on the today screen if you dont like. I wouldnt waste my time with it though.
HTC Titan 3.35 Dialer (PhoneCanvas) or HTC Vogue Dialer - Vouge Dialer hands down. Looks much much better.
HTC SlidingSound - Hahahaha NO! Dont use that please. Its annoying and you will be annoyed within a day. The phone will make a chiming sound when you open and close the keyboard.
- HTC Smartdialing 2.5.29097.1 - Titan 3.35 or HTC Smartdialing v26877 - Vogue...what's your recommendation? - Netiher. Cant stand smart dialing and the way it works / looks. Once again you can install then disable if you dont like. You have to disable from the Phone screen using the Options menu.
- HTC Smart Animation 1.0814.719...Do I need it? They should call this the Sprint animation boot screen because that is basically what is . Its the sprint logo animated when you boot up your phone. You can use it but it may look silly if your not on the Sprint network.
HTC X-Botton - Couldn't live without it. Its a mini task manager that sits in the top right of screen. It lets you close applications by tappin on the X instead of just minimizing them.
Sprint Navigator 1.0.21 - It would work on pretty much any GPS enabled WM6 device. Its bascially a program called TeleNav that is branded with the sprint logos.
Voicemail Today Plugin...Do I need it? - It just tells you how many voice mails you have.
Most of these are not needed. Actually if you deselected all of them your phone would still be fine.
Good luck and hope I gave you some insight.

vx6800 flashed 1st time and all seems to be great. Very slick work and love WM6.1 wiith all the features vendor disabled like ICS.
After a day of running it without problems, i noticed i did not recieve a pic from a friend. looking, i dont even have MMS pics as an option. anyone know how i can get this feature back?
Add New only lets me setup a new email and not MMS pics. Thought about redoing the verizon cab, but would that mean getting a verizon tech to reactivate the unit onto the network again? Any other ideas, help?
Install Arcsoft MMS
Figured MMS support was part of WM6. But will look into a 3rd party solution. Any special connection settings required for the vendor or type of traffic since MMS is billed diffrent than a data connection?

Arcsoft MMS isn't third party, it is what is included in all Windows Mobile MMS solutions. It's just been removed from the rom, you need to add it back.
Little searching goes a long way...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2220029&postcount=6
So i upgraded to win 6.1 then 6.5.
Seeing how it was my first time doing it, i let sprints custom run on 6.1 and now i can not send sms.
Does anyone have a stock 6800 on uscc that i could get the epst settings from ?
I have double checked all of my epst settings but still cant send sms.. I can call out/receive get online and got the gps working but no sms.
using radio 3.42.50
and win 6.5 build 21820 Sprint Mattsm
with the dcd USCC Carrier 20080801 Cab
After searching three different forum.. i wonder if it could be due to the fact i have no value for my a-key in epst ? any idea how to get one ?
so just fyi for others if this happens.. EPIC FAIL !! .. i did not have my SMS turned on for that line, it was my business phone and had forgot to i had uscc disable txt messing on the line.
Woot ! go me after like 4 hours of researching !
Hi All,
Not a flaming thread at all this but I hope an informative one. I love the Energy ROM and the fact that I mention it here is not to say it is a bad ROM.
I have been battling with MMS settings on my HD2 for a long time. I have never managed to get it to work at all, whatever settings I tried.
The issue it seems was the ROM I was using, the Energy ROM is one in particular. Possibly more but I have had the problem for so long I can't remember what other ROMs gave me problems.
What I can say is that in desperation, ran out of ideas, I tried changing ROMs with the sole intention of testing MMS settings and there it was, I changed to the Artemis ROM and all was well, MMS settings worked.
I am going to do further tests to be 100% sure but one thing I have noticed was that with the Energy ROM I couldn't select 'celular Line (GPRS), it was always greyed out to 'Celular Line'. I think this might have been the problem but as I say some confirmation of that required.
Here are the O2 settings:

I hope this helps someone.

those data settings are for the mobile data connection, , , mms wont send over that data network. O2 require a wap data modem set up too, purely for mms to send over.
when connectionsetup runs at first boot with an o2 sim, it sets up two data accounts, 'mobile web' and 'o2 active'.
mobile web is for, well, mobile web, and runs at full data speed, and the o2 active account is what the mms server settings are pointed at, and connects to o2's wap server.
have a peek HERE for o2 active settings.
The thing that confused me for ages is that when you go to settings connections connections manage existing connections,, it only shows you the 'mobile web' account, until you go to 'advanced - select networks' and change the top dropdown to 'o2 active', when you can then view/edit that account.
dont forget to change that top dropdown back to mobile web, cos if you leave it set to o2 active (like i did today) it uses the wap server for all your data, which isn't as fast as the mobile web server.

I got confused for a while and spent ages trying to work it out. If you go Settings>Connections>Connections, under here you should find two titled sections, Proxy Internet and My Work Network.
What I have is under:
- Proxy Internet>Manage existing connections: contains the mobile web settings
-My Work Network>Manage existing connections: contains the o2 active settings using wap server.
One other thing to check is go to the Sense Message tab and go: All Messages>Menu>Setting>Options>Menu>MMS Server select the o2 MMS (might be named differently depending on ROM). You'll find a list of server details, don't need to touch these, the only thing to check is "Connect via" option and make sure it points to My Work Network. This will pick up the correct wap settings.
Just thought I'd offer my findings.

Just in case someone follows this link and gets confused, the settings in it are for contract, not pre-pay.
Pre-pay:
APN - payandgo.o2.co.uk
Username - payandgo
Password - password
Proxy Tab - 'This network connects to the internet' should be ticked. That's all. No further details are necessary.
What NRG rom are you using? To avoid having to enter anything manually, after flashing one of NRG's rom, when the phone automatically configure network with O2 SIM at first boot, simply select prepay or contract (postpay?) as appropriate. Soft reset. After phone reboots, hit Start, go into Settings, Connections, Connections, then on the Task tab tap ' Automatically configure connection'. Allow it to do its thing, then soft reset. I haven't had to manually enter data or MMS settings for my O2 prepay sim in an NRG rom for a long time : )
Can not send or receive mms on my tmo hd2 with Energy Rom and CHT 2.0 with the original HTC messaging client re-installed (htc messaging cab was downloaded from the energy rom site) Any help would be awesome.
what is your desired provider? there's some wrong settings for t-mobile germany for example. Maybe that's for others too. The problem for me was that in the EnergyROM the wrong port was set that was all. The developer used the proxy port than the "normal" server port changed it and all is working for me now!
