Handsfree with car charger - G1 Accessories

http://cgi.ebay.ca/CAR-CHARGER-SPEA...ccessories?hash=item3ca0d161fd#ht_3289wt_1165
Anybody try this? I have a cassette adapter that I can plug into this and kinda have a rudimentary in-car handsfree / mp3 player.
Not a bad price either!

for $35 (total with shipping) you could get a 4Gb class 6 card, a new car charger, a splitter for earphone/charge/3mm, a few screen protectors, AND 2-3 of the $.99 HTC microusb to 3.5mm cords...
no, i haven't tried it, but i'll bet if/when it fails won't be long. didn't see a link for reviews from previous buyers. maybe check amazon for reviews ?
post up if you get one !

Mini-USB audio adapters

Hello,
I just noticed there are many Mini-USB to 3.5 (or 2.5) audio adapters on sale at e-Bay, like this.
All of them seem to be for Motorola phones, though. Anyone has tried on the TyTN?
I seem to remember reading somewhere in GENERAL that they would not. Someone asked HTC and they said it was propietry - but they would have an adapter out soon(ish).
Rich
I can't see why it shouldn't work... it's just £5 so what's the loss if it doesn't...
EDIT: I've bought one today. I'll tell if it works or not....
The port is NOT proprietary. It is a standard mini-USB, and takes standard mini-USB cables.
They tweaked the socket a little bit to go along with their new proprietary headset.
In other words, you can plug in any standard mini-usb cable/accessory, but you can't plug the headset into any standard mini-usb port.
Sorta "dain-bramaged" if you ask me, but since I use a bluetooth headset, it's a non-issue.
Charge and audio simulataneously?
So, how do I both charge the unit and listen to music (wired headphones) at the same time? Does anyone know?
There is an alternative to an adapter. As they say on Blue Peter, here's one I made earlier.......
http://www.4winmobile.com/tutorial-replace-hermes-headset-connector-with-35mm-socket-vt3146.html
I asked htc for an adapter
here ist the answer:
Dear Sir
At present HTC does not manufacture, supply or support such a connection and HTC cannot supply such a diagram.

Easy answer: get an iPod!
Hello,
I tried one of those "motorola / razr" headphone adapters on sale at ebay. while the adapter fits nicely it doesn't work. Tytn just doesn't seem to recognize it.
Any thoughts of why it doesn't work and alternatives greatly appreciated.

If you look at the connector the motorola one has 5 pins across the top of the it. If you look at the Tytn on it has 5 pins across the top and 6 across the bottom. In order to be compatible with current chargers the top 5 pins supply the charging and the bottom 6 supply headset and serial connections.
I do not intend to use the "Line out" function of my TyTN often but it DOES lack an audio output. Sometimes I need to connect the device to speakers and etc.
It should be a modified mini USB port that the TyTN has and that must have saved some space over traditional 2.5mm sockets. We all know 2.5 sockets are not common and you need an apaptor to change it to 3.5mm anyway so prolly HTC gave up on the 2.5 and made the USB standard.
I am pretty sure that some accessory will come out.
Does anyone know if the Ebay adaptor cable will work on the TyTN?
Most of the ebay adapters are standard usb mini for use with the razor etc. These will not work. It needs to be an adapter specifically for the Tytn.
thanks! It is really stupid for HTC not to launch any accessories for the TyTN(or other releases).
Like the Atom Exec has factory cradle kit, battery, silicon cases, leather straps and etc. I don't even know where to get an extra battery!
Thought of one of these:

Mini USB --> Headphone

¿Do you know if the MiniUsb to headphone connector on the Herald is a standard??
I've been looking for an adapter and I've found some Motorola Headphones that connect through mini USB interfase, but don't know if it's goin' to work on my Herald.
¿Can anyone help me?
Thnx in advance
my razor (motorola) headphones do not work on my herald, however, you can check ebay for a usb to headphone converter for the wing or herald, i have one and it works fine.
this might be a big bump, but this is why it wont work.
HTC devices use something called extUSB, which, evidently, is miniusb but better i guess. You will want to ebay search for that,
on ebay.. search term "wing" choose cellphone accessories>> headsets-corded>> u will get some... most are 1.99 with 4.99 shipping (us dollars)
http://www.daydeal.com/product.php?productid=15366
exactly what u need
daydeal.com -= thye got some good stuff on there lol
This one works well for me:
http://www.seidioonline.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=776
I plug it into the usb audio/power adapter that came with my Wing, then plug the car power adapter into the adapter, and a Belkin 3.5 to stereo RCA cord into my Pioneer receiver... Charge my Wing as I drive while MortPlayer entertains me
Slightly old thread, but I figure it's worth clarifying this a little.
The Harold and Wing's connector has extra pins which provide analog input and output from the headset. I don't believe it uses any of the USB side's pins.
The adapter above will work for conventional headphones. I don't know of any adapters for MOT's miniUSB connector headsets (I highly doubt you'll ever see one) or even a full 2.5mm headset (although that shouldn't be hard to fabricate).

Desktop Cradle

Im Looking for a nice Cradle for the Rhodium, ideally with a second battery charger in it (not vital as ive not got a 2nd battery yet)
Anyone spied any?
They've started cropping up on eBay, spotted 2 this morning.
If anyone actually gets a hold or hears of a proper battery cradle charger I'll be happy. With having the kaiser for 2 years I grew tired of having to charge my phone twice a day to meet my gadgetting needs... I really do love to play around with those phones hah..
[offtopic] Also bummer they didn't supply the phones with the VGA cable.. [/offtopic]

That looks like it will put a fair bit of strain on the extusb port. There doesn't seem to be anything else supporting the phone
I seem to buy a cradle for every phone I get, none of which are perfect (the stand that is, not the phone, although . . )
This time I am going low tech and going for something like the one my daughter got with her Nokia 5800 http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Genuine-Nokia...66:2|39:1|72:1683|240:1318|301:0|293:1|294:50
Although I might need a bigger one due to the weight of the TP2 ( I will try hers when my phone turns up)
i build my own craddle with the HTC G300 Touch Diamond Cradle & adapter
it has no extras, it`s not the best, but it works...
if HTC build a matching adapter i will buy it....
see the pics
cope with a rasp ground,
a piece of soft plastic stuck on it so that it is softer surface....

Can I ask how easy it is to drop the device into the cradle? I bought a Pro2 cradle from an ebay source, and it can be a bit fiddly to line up the connector, I'm often jiggling it around for a while to line it up; whereas the Brando cradle for the HD is very easy to use, it just drops straight in. I'm loathe to buy a second cradle, but this one is just annoying me.
hi!
the brando is easy to line up the connector, of course first you must learn the position...
it's cute! I own the deluxe for a second battery, but the normal one is enough if you don't plan a second battery!
I have to agree with @deiota mine came today and I am very happy with it.
Pics of both types of chargers
I purchased both types of chargers. One for the office & one for home.
I have had them for almost a month now. Please excuse all the dust & fingerprints
Ill post the deluxe model first.
Pics of the plain charger.
I have attached pics of the plain charger.
The plain charger I purchased for usd$14.99 and the deluxe was usd$24.99. I purchased both from ebay. I received them in about a week after placing my order. Both came with free shipping.
So the total was usd$39.98 for both units.
Connections:
Deluxe model - EXTUSB docking port / MINIUSB charging port / EXTUSB sync & audio port / 3.5mm Audio Port
Plain Model - MINIUSB docking port / MINIUSB charging port / MINIUSB Sync port
Both unit came with a US style (2-prong) AC Adaptor with the following specs:
Input = 100-240vac 50/60Hz
Output = 5v 1.5A (MINIUSB)
Both models works great. I actually prefer the plain model since the HTC TP2 sits "deeper" in the docking port which seems more secure and I still have easy access to the front buttons of the phone. I usually do not listen to music when charging the phone. I have placed these docking cradles in front of my computers at home & office so, if i had to listen to music, i use my computer.

Hardwiring power supply to car dock

Has anyone here tried hardwiring a power supply to their car dock?
I'm planning on tackling the project in the next few weeks and I can post any relevant pics/info, although the wire routing and dash removal would be different depending on the vehicle. I can at least provide some info on parts and a good way to tie in the charger to the vehicle's wiring.
Anyone who has tried this before is welcome to throw in ideas/tips.
I've done this with every phone I've ever owned, it's no big deal really.
You going to run it on aux power? Or something always on?
I'd seen a tutorial online on another (inferior) android forum that showed a car charger tied in through the dashboard power outlet's wiring.
I used a fuse tap & simply wired it into one of the fuse blocks in my Ford Escape. The power from that runs my phone charger & an HDMI scaler.
I have a 7" dbl DIN DVD/NAV screen in the dash, & I use an MHL adaptor to hook up HDMI video out to that & two other monitor screens in the rear.
I rip DVD movies to my 32 gig card & play them on that setup. I also use SlingMobile to play live TV on those screens while traveling. My wife watched 4 hours of HBO on demand movies while we where traveling recently.
The HDMI also runs music from my card/Pandora/iheart radio/Netflix & Sirius Radio online to the truck system.
To me, this stuff is no big deal but I was an auto mechanic in my younger days & also sold/installed competition grade car stereo setups.

Good stuff. Are you using a cigarette lighter/aux adapter and just bringing it out or did you find a way to hard wire the micro USB cable directly?

Ok, my real question was how did you back it down to .7 amps or whatever the dock charger is? I just phrased it horribly lol

How to get a free USB to 3.5mm headphone adapter for your S20

While I have a Note 10 plus, this will work for any phone that has a USB C port. A company I have worked with many times before it's looking for honest reviews of their new products and you'll get one for free. I found out about it here on XDA a few years ago and wanted to share so others could join in. Who doesn't want free accessories for their phone
They current have a USB C to 3.5mm adapter (2 pack). Basically, you buy the adapter, post a true review, and he'll reimburse you via PayPal for the adapter. I've personally reviewed a number of products he sells and they have been great.
He also has an 8K HDMI, and USB extension, if you're interested.
If interested, contact Jayson at [email protected]
Link to adapter on Amazon.com: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0837MMB4B/ref=cm_sw_r_other_apa_i_3DuTEbHZZJV3G
Speaking of the adapter, it's awesome. My car's Bluetooth is not reliable, so when it goes out, I need an adapter to connect my phone to the car because stupid Samsung killed the headphone jack. This adapter fixes that issue. Unlike others, this one for nicely into the USB port (many are cheap and feel like it's going to break my phone), it looks good, and the sound is crystal clear. Well with it...
