Amarullz, or anybody else,
Is it possible to make a compact home tab? Removing the top curtain "carrier name", and the calendar shortcut, than adding the shortcut buttons, like the picture attached?
I am not a developer..

no one is interested in this? if someone know somebody who is capable to do this compact manila tab, I appreciate.
I wanted to do this too but i would like to keep everything but resize all of the items to fit in one screen
Well, I've been working on this off and on for about two weeks now. My problem is when it load manila initially the top curtain is gone, but when you move to a different tab and move back, the curtain reappears. I've tried lots of stuff and can't get it to stay gone. You can see the problems I'm having in the 2nd and 3rd shots.
I'll keep working, but if you want it as is for now. I've attached a cab. I've also run into a problem with the shortcuts covering up the top time info on the shortcuts screen. Should I just remove that top time info?
It includes 20 shortcuts and background for all tabs.
Just replace the top bar graphic with a blank one or change the height of it to 0 in 3a8e04af_manila.

Hello,
1. can someone tell me how to get the taskbar as transparent as on the home tab on the other tabs? if you switch to the 2nd tab to the last one they are opaque. This looks very strange while having a transparent tasbar at the bottom.
2. how can I get rid of those dark frames around the music player slider in the music tab. They look pretty nasty while having a bright wallpaper.
both things shown in the attachment.
Thx in advance!
Here you go
you can find a lot more in the sticky's at first page

1. Install TouchX transparent music controls background"
2. I don't quite understand your question... Are you talking about the slider? or the taskbar? Have you allready installed a transparent slider .cab? (and is this not working correctly for you?)
Grtz,
Degake
Thank you guys! Music controls background is exactly what I was looking for!
The slider unfortunately not
I am looking for a slider that looks like the original one does on the home tab. It is semi-opaque there. If you switch to any other tab except the home tab it will get non-transparent as seen in my picture on the first tab. On the home tab you can still grasp the wallpaper through it.
So I don't want a fully transparent one as from TouchX.

Hmmm....so you want a semi-opaque slider fore al the tabs, as far as i know there is no semi-opaque slider only a transparent one.
I just want the same slider transparency level that it already has on the home tab. On any other tab on the slider automatically changes to non-transparant!!
push! nobody any clue?

Get the transparent CAB above, then add te semi-transparent to your wallpaper manually (via photoshop). Make sure you have "Background 4 all tabs" first.
If you don't have one, I recommend Co0kie Home Tab because it has many option (including the All Tabs Background) in just one CAB.

I remember looking into this several months ago for exactly the same reasons you give.
As there is definitely only one manila file for this slider background/curtain, I decided that there must be some additional code on the pages themselves that affect how transparent/opaque it is.
Unfortunately I have never mastered that level of code change, so I gave up and just went for the fully transparent look as that is at least consistent across all tabs (see following screenshot).
forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=637671
touch x has one check link.

Not so. The slider is the same semi-transparent on all tabs, it's just the background there on most tabs other than the home tabs are dark. Check the images tab with part of an image behind the slider and you will see that it is indeed the same semi-transparent slider.
Anyone know of any transparency cabs for start menu and manila curtain?
I search the forums but couldn't find one for the start menu and curtain
Update on this, i found the start menu transparency cab from the Sense 2.5 tweaks.. but still missing the manila curtain cab.
There's a top curtain transparency cab and a 50% bottom curtain, but what i'm looking for is the "middle curtain" when you scroll long the slider. Anyone know of this?
i think this is what you r after

Hi Jeewadj, i checked through the post, but couldn't find what i want. what i'm looking for is sort of like a middle curtain transparency, but all i could find are top and bottom curtain cabs.. any ideas?
bit confuzled about what you want post a screen shot and explain mate
hi i thought you were after a transparent slider ?? is that what you r after or please post a example
Hi guys
sorry for the confusion.. it's abit diff to take a screenshot. i'll try to describe it.
When you slide your finger across the slider, the curtain for manila shows you where you're going..(Home -> People -> ..) it greys out the whole screen with just an icon and the description.
What i'm trying to do is removing the greying out of the whole screen. This greying out happens between the top curtain and slider itself.
Hope this helps
try this one i think i no what you mean
Cool!!1 Thanks very much demon. That's exactly what i'm looking for!
WOW, i love it. this is one of the custom i being searching for. Thanks Demon_Man

do you mean the dock on the home screen?
I don't know how to actually remove it, but you could set the background to transparent and remove all icons.

goto prefrences, then select theme settings. select dock background , and select the option hide background.

you'll have that + + + + + label for adding another icons...
you COULD in theory create a blank PNG or jpeg or whatever.. save it in your gallery (or wherever.. )
Long press on one of the Plus signs.
Select "Replace"
Select "Custom Icon"
then select your blank png (blank.png attached to post
et voila
I have added a blank.zip to the post
just unzip the blank.zip and there will be a blank.png inside....copy to your phone..... find it in the gallery.. and i can confirm it works
example screeenshot of it in action
(i have left dock background in place just to prove it is working,, but easy to disable)
show/hide dockbar
if you dont need the whole dockbar on your homescreens you can also configure to show or hide it with a gesture.
go to "settings" -> "function-settings" -> "buttons and gestures" -> "action for wiping down" -> "show/hide dockbar"
(i hope this are the names of the menus in english because i have the german version)
now when you wipe your finger down on any homescreen the dockbar shows or hides itself.
thats the settings i prefer but do as you like!

No you can't.
1. Wrong section
2. Dumb question
3. Lazy user
when you tap the + icon, some options pop up where you can select "blank" and + icon will disappear

This is the best way. However the homescreen real estate is not expanded to reach the bottom of the screen, unlike most other launchers. For this reason I switching back to ADW, although Go's transition fx are amazing
Bit of a bump here, can i not replace the dock with say Arrow Dock? It's completely different so is it possible?
This is arrowdock:

Actually you can.
Set glide action to hide dock bar, return to home screen and 'glide to hide',reset glide action to whatever. Now when home, no dock bar. Voila!

wrong section yes but not a stupid question nor a lazy user. its an option in adw that i wish go launcher had. i would switch to adw for this option alone but i'm having other more serious issue with adw. the point of this is to use the space so my widget extends to the bottom of the screen. it just looks a lot cleaner instead of empty space at the bottom where the dock would be.

I think the earlier question was removing the dock bar and using the real estate to place widgets, which you really can't. Hiding the dock bar? Yes of course. Using the space for widgets? No can do.

You can use the space for widgets, the trick is that you have to go to a larger grid size, place the widget at the bottom, and then change the grid size to be one notch smaller.
I did this so that my twitter widget is stretched to the very end of the screen, and the same thing for the jorte calendar on another screen.
It's easy
Using the additional screen area at the bottom can be done, but only for resizable items (widgets). Here's how. Increase your vertical grid capacity by one. I run a 5x4, so I would switch to a 6x4. Use a gesture feature to hide the dock bar. Any widget that was on the bottom of your previous grid will now be one row up from the bottom. RESIZE the widget to occupy the bottom row (do not move it). For a 1x1widget, you would be turning it into a 2x1 widget. Now, go back into your preferences ---> screen settings. Revert back to your original grid layout and return to your home screen. The bottom widgets should occupy the full lower area.
There are three problems with doing this.
1) Any time you show the dock bar, the widgets will not adjust, meaning that the dock will cover part of the widget(s).
2) If you long press any of the lower widgets, it will detect the missing grid row and relocate the widget. In the event this happens, you must repeat the process all over again. This means no moving or resizing widgets once they're in place.
3) The spacing between the lower widgets and anything directly above them is increased due to the widget occupying a larger vertical area. This creates a less uniform look. Note that this only applies to widgets that do not stretch when resized (fixed widget size).
How this helps.
This thread is awesome, now I can finally make some MIUI like interface.
I get that the developers/designers are only doing themes for specific screen resolutions right now, but why is the core tools for creating custom Themer widgets restricted by large grid settings?
Confused as to what I mean? Please let me explain.
I can create a custom widget, which starts with the background box. But, in order to line the background box up with my home page background, I have to set the color of the background widget to a solid color and then resize it since it doesn't visualize the snap-to grid element (which it does).
So, as I said above, why is this limitation there in the first place? On my Note 2 I can't create a widget that goes to the top of my screen because it is out of bounds of my screen and when I go to add elements to the widget, they don't line up correctly unless I resize the widget background box to snap to below the top of my screen (by a good amount).
So, is it at least possible to have the default grid snap distance greatly reduced or give us an option to set it ourselves in regards to setting the widget itself?
I've encountered zero issue with moving elements within a widget box other than the inability to lock items individually once placed (that would truly help in them designing).
Sorry for any confusion, I'm not aware of the standard labels for the various design elements of a widget or the like.

Hows it going? Im Bill from MCS.
Im a still a bit confused as to what you are asking and what tools it is that you are using in Themer that are giving you the issue.
Im sure you have already made sure that padding is turned OFF in the settings, but I have to say just to be safe.
IF you are getting spaced on the sides or top or your widget, you might want to check to see if you are using odd numbers for the Grid (rows and columns). Because of the way custom build widgets from WYSIWYG editors like Zooper and Everything widget render on the screen you might be a 1px gap if you are using odd numbered Rows or Columns in your grid.
This is the first thing I would check. I have seen an issue where for some reason I get a 2 or 4px padding on the top and bottom of the widgets. It only happens to me now and again. I can usually delete the widget and re-add it to get rid of the issue.
So I have been using Next Launcher for three years. I love themes and creating my own UI. I hide docs and create themes that are almost completely free of standard icons. To do this I use Zooper Widget 4x4 (or any other that I extend from top to bottom and side to side. I fill the entire screen and as I said even hide the dock as well as the status bar. Well the other day as I was working on an existing one the 4x4 widget (largest widget available) stopped filling the screen. Even when I go to resize, it will not allow me to completely fill the screen.
I have tried the following to fix:
Reboot (sim card removed)
Uninstalled Next Launcher (and zooper) then re installed.
Tried other launchers (they all fixed the problem however I need Next as it is the only launcher I am aware of that allows you to literally place icons anywhere with ZERO grid). I even used Next Light and again, the problem was gone. Problem here, after the trial period you can no longer "hide Dock".
I am certain it is a Next Launcher issue but have yet to fix it. Im wondering...
Anyone else having this problem? Does anyone have any ideas and or does anyone know of any other launchers with the same freedoms?
Attached is a photo of my latest UI as an example as to why I need complete icon placement freedom as well as no boarders.
Thanks in advance.

This section is for Themer-related queries only, sorry about that
