yes i do and i hate it. it gives a rainbow effect, the mirror effect is minimal, the screen is much darker£.

I do, not from that seller though. Mine are fantastic, I get compliments on them all the time, and an added bonus is that I always have a mirror to check my hair and makeup with!

Can you provide a link then?

I use a mirror screen protector on my htc touch pro 2. I sometimes makes a rainbox effect. But since the screen is black it's not that noticable. It's worth the buy because you get use to it very fast. Eventually you don't even think about it.
This mirror screen protector has saved me so many times. It's worth the buy.
I got 2 off ebay for less than $5.
Buy it, trust me it's worth the money.
I can upload a picture of how it looks on the weekend if you want. Just let me know.

What did it save you from? Anything a non-mirror screen protector wouldn't have saved you from?

Heh. Wouldn't help me though. My face looks scarier when you can see it clearly.

Where here a re the pics of my tmobile htc touch pro 2 with a mirror screen protector.

Thanks a lot for the pics! I definetely like the look!

A note on mirrored screen protectors though: i dunno if its just the ones i've bought or if its all of them, but if you wear polarized sunglasses you will not be able to see through them unless you turn the screen sideways.

How do these affect display? I assume the display is overall less bright, or a bit washed out?

It does not realy affect the display when you are indoors.
But when you're outside it's a different story. I have the brightness almost on max because the blaring sunlight makes the screen very reflective.
But you tend to get use to it.
Plus the benefits of having one totally outweigh the cons.
You would be surprise at how ofter you would check yourself out once since it's so convineint. Plus the ladies love it also
Say you want to look at somebody in back of you without turning your head, just put up your phone at the angle you want it, and Bam you have eyes in the back of your head

Obviously people's tolerances will be different, but my reading on these is that there is an effect indoors as well, however minor. A perfectly clear protector will obviously allow your display to be brighter and clearer in all conditions than one with a measure of opacity.
The novelty benefits of a mirror protector do come with a cost of visibility. kmx seems willing to bear the burden for the benefits, but not everyone feels the cost is so low, even indoors. If you're really curious, hit up youtube. There are some video reviews of mirror protectors on there.

Got mine from Amazon. Took it off on third day. Lots of VERY visible scratches and some sort of golden glare. A
At first I loved it, but then these scratches were just too much.

So here's a crazy question or 3;
1) would it stick to the back of the phone (I don't know if the full body protection products use the exact same material for screen and body protection)?
2) I was thinking I could cut it to size and use the mirror on the back to a) have a mirror on the back and b) it might be useful for self portraits with the camera (mine is a TMo, camera on the back)
3) Would it still be a mirror if it wasn't attached to the glass but instead to the plastic back?

would it stick to the back of the phone (I don't know if the full body protection products use the exact same material for screen and body protection)?

Click to collapse
Probably not well. Full body protection does typically use the type of material for their own screen protectors as their own body protectors, but it's not the same stuff most screen protector companies use. A lot of plain screen protectors actually "stick" by way of a staticy cling rather than adhesive. I'm pretty sure all body protectors use some adhesive for screen and body.
If you did find a mirrored protector that used adhesive, you'd further have to worry about whether that adhesive could harm the body of your device. It's probably only tested for application and removal from a screen, and might react differently to non-screen material.
Finally, there's a lot of curve to the TP2, even on the mostly flat back. That's going to make sticking something designed for a completely flat surface (the screen) harder. Looking at it, I'd think you'd have to cut an awful lot, down to a very narrow strip, and not a very effective mirror, before even an adhesive based mirror protector would work.
I'm not trying to be a buzzkill, I hope you can find something to suit your needs (a mirrored case?), but beware of the above issues.

not at all, thank you for the thoughtful reply.
I think my best bet is to campaign the protection companies (Bodyguardz, etc.) to make a mirrored version of their case protection. Or an OEM to make a chrome replacement backplate! Or, it might be interesting to see the effect of spraying the backplate of an old phone with chrome paint.

can we get some links to those mirror protectors?

has anyone bought the full body from them? it went down in price by 5bucks.. i was wondering if there was pics and how much it actually covers..
i'm going to give it a try... if it makes the device more "grippy", i'll be a good to go.
It could be an amazing idea, or pile of poo. Please let us know how you get on.
can i combine for example a brando screen protecor with the full body kit from clear coat or invisibleshield?
let us know how it goes.. cuz i want it to cover corners and everything.. if you look at the pictures for the iphone they have.. it doesn't cover anything.
I emailed clear coat friday and here is the email with reply:

Khang,
Thank you for writing in. We have been able to get excellent coverage on the Touch HD. The sides, top, bottom, front, and back are all covered. All of our designs omit a small part of the corners - we've found this makes the Clear-Coat stay on longer (corners peel easily), and easier to install. Overall, I'd say you achieve 95% coverage on this model.

For $20 shipped I jumped in....Invishield hasn't come out with their HD version yet and I want to keep my baby looking brand spanking new...untile I drop it in the toilet, of course.

Well, that´s bad for me..according to my experience with mobile phones, they always fall down on corners(
I just wonder how much is the new cover, whether it is not nearly the same price as this protector...

Blug, blug!!
I'll post a mini review once I get it on.
ookayy! PICTURES TOOO!!! PLEASE!!
I received my set yesterday, there are 5 pieces covering more or less 92% of the HD.
One big missing (7%) concerns the band all around the touch screen.
I dislike the touch screen part, to grippy for me, better to use original one from the HTC box.
I confirm, quite difficult to apply this protection to the corner.
Because of the size of the screen, do not put too much pressure when you apply the protection.
Not really good experience till now, I've expected a full protection
Does it cover the lens?

hmm - that will definitelly have negative impact on picture quality, I wish they cut a hole for the lens.
you mean it doesn't cover the part where the glossy paint is? the big major part of this phone? hahaha the chipping part? that sucks.. any pics?
wait, wait, wait.... let me understand
this body protector doesn't protect the most delicate part?
.... please confirm this fact, I was going to order it!
IT DOESN'T?!?!!? I bought clear-coat for that glossy chipping frame only

Mirror Screen Protector

Its was so cheap i could not resist... 5 screen protectors for 8$...
-quality not one of the best (see bottom part not perfectly good)
-reflections not always straight and has some colors like CD or something.
-its thick about 1mm it feels like solid protection not like the thin protectors which almost unnoticed this one like hardens the screen...
-very reflective but its ok for everyday use.
-after 3-4 days with this protector it did not has eve one scratch... and im not obsessed about guarding my device...i keep it in my pocket sometimes with other stuff... throw it in different places in my car cause i did not buy car holder yet... overall its durability is very good till now.
*pictures from polaris so quality very bad... in real its nor blurry and seen very clear.

usually i use Martin-Fields protector its best from which i tried,
now i wanted to try mirrored one cause it looks good & this is the only one i found... if i'll find mirrored protector from known brand i'll definitely try it cause this one not the best quality.
I bought one of these from ebay and had to remove it strait away! The effect it has on screen visibility is outrageous. Like you said it adds a strange rainbow effect like you're looking at a CD. It also wasn't cut strait. Utter rubbish IMO.
The mirror effect did look cool though, and it yes was scratch resistant
It reads cool and I can't see the pictures....I never thought about using screen protector on my phone so it's...Desides, I always like the phone with large screen. Maybe I should go to ebay and get this one...

Best Screen Protection

Hi,
I use ZAGG invisibleSHIELD since 4 months and I search somethings better. I don't like how my fingers slips on the screen if I compare to the iphone 4 of my friend.. The feeling of iphone is awesome..
Which protection screen you recommend for a best feeling?
Might be some suggestions HERE.
I bought these and they are awesome!
Smooth matte feeling, no fingerprints and the light reflects nicely on the screen.
Colors look a little dimmer, but that's no issue for me.

Hey My_Immortal
Just some questions. Did you also get it from the same guy on ebay? Also, does the screen protector give out a lot of tiny rainbow/prism effect when it is very noticeable on white backgrounds?
I got one anti-glare matte screen protector from ebay and after I applied it on, it looked HORRIBLE under white screens/background. Like if I'm browsing a website, it gives out a very noticeable prism effect. When I compared it to my friend's anti-glare matte screen protector on his iPhone (from the Tru brand bought at a carrier store), it wasn't noticeable at all. I'm guessing since it is a very reputable screen protector brand, I would think quality is the reason for the effect. Good quality screen protectors reduces that and cheap ones may show a lot.
If you can, post pictures with a white screen on it.
Thanks!
I went to this place to get mine, they do a full body cover, looks good... but don't do what i did, follow the instructions it makes it look so much better, and mine looks and feels good even with my screw up.
I've only put the screen, top, bottom and side protectors on, left the back as i like the feel of the back cover, they were doing free to the first 2000 customers and all you had to pay for was the delivery, the promotion is still going on they've taken away for how many units they are going to sell, so not sure how much longer they will be doing this for.

Sorry guys for the delayed answer, I was trying to find my digital camera, but it seems that it's lost somewhere in one of the gazillion purses in my closet!!!
Will post pictures as soon as I locate it!
The "photo" in the link is not an actual photo, is more like a graphic design.
The screen does get a little dimmer, but imho it is a small price to pay because the feel of the screen becomes really smooth. There is no more grease on it, which I really like. And coming from me, wearing makeup and taking a lot of calls every day without handsfree, I think it means a lot! lol!
Hey!
Have a look at these.
I bought them an they are really great.
You´ll see no difference to the screen without a protector.
I love them and i´ll buy them again and again.
Including the shipping costs, it´ll be at 4,99£ or in Euro ~5,72€
But it´s worth. =)
Have a look at the customer reviews
Just use Lemon Pledge. Spray it on some lint free cloth, squeeze the residules from the cloth itself, leave it to dry and wipe it over the protective screen cover. No more smudge and stay clear always.
Grandmother trick
Its still free.
Waiting now to se whats it is like.
Oh, they don't sell Lemon Pledge in my country...
I would give it a try if I could!

I got the Skinomi Tech Skin for ZenWatch 2 off of Amazon. This one includes a screen protector and protectors for the back and sides. There are many options available on Amazon to choose from.
*Edit: Just reread your post and saw that you have the smaller ZW2, an Amazon search for Zenwatch 2 45mm screen protector turned up many results.
I bought mine from Amazon. Skinomi it is. And I honestly do not like it. Way too sticky and scratches easily and peels off itself on sharp pressure point.

The Skinomi has the wet installation method. I like the installation method, but you have to be patient because it will move very easily until it dries. It also took about a day for some of the imperfections to work out after install.

That's right. Even with its highest rating, it's kinda like looking through blown glass jar.
Real issue with this watch is that it has a curved and rounded glass so typical PET film won't adhere properly unless carefully pre-formed with a proper shape. Urethane films(Skinomi and etc) are known for its bad touch feedback ,sticky feel and uneven surface. Tempered glass one is almost impossible to make for a curved and rounded surface. So, your option is very very limited.
Yeah, and coming from a Moto 360, the few glass screens I could get for it were pretty bad. The glass screens rose up above the watch face so they had a tendency to catch corners easier. (You'd be surprised at how high 2.5-3mm can be on a watch) They also don't seem to hold up as well over time as the 3 that I tried for the Moto 360 (all different brands) all nicked or shattered.
There's few high rated ones, so I tried the Urethane film that Skinomi has. I don't like the sticky feel, or the slightly uneven surface as DDz_1888 noted, however, in practice, with banging my wrist on walls or the like, it does hold up better to abuse, so there's that.
All in all, I'm okay with the Urethane film from Skinomi as it really does hold up better to abuse. Would've liked a glass version as well to try, but I can see why there isn't one available.
As an aside, my only annoyance is that finding accessories for this watch is a lot more irritating than the 360.
Can't find a dedicated black band, only ones I find on Amazon end up being a dark gunmetal.
Can't find as many good square watch faces, as most of the ones I find are round
Can't even get a spare charger on Amazon, as the one I've ordered still hasn't shipped.
I orderd mine from amazon. They shipped from germany to canada in a week. And there petty thick. And good price since no Chinese shipping Times

It's not as if it doesn't have some nice presets. It does, and it's a nice app. However, no matter how many nice ones I find for the square face, there's probably at least 10 round ones out there for every 1 I find that I like.
Honestly, It is being a bit picky. But that's simply how the comparisons work out. All in all though, I still prefer and like the Zenwatch over my 360. Better performance, the speakerphone actually does get some use every so often, (so that's actually a surprisingly nice bonus) and overall, a better value for the $.
I purchased the Armorsuit Shield but an reluctant to install it because I am concerned that the added Shield, even thought it may protect my screen, may also create the need to increase the brightness so daylight visibility. Currently, without this, I am find with the brightness set at 3.
For those that have added a screen protector, did it dull the brightness or did it not have any effect?
Just installed it and it was easy. My concern regarding brightness being reduced was eliminated after taking it out into the sunny day and still being able to read the face. Great Product!

The round faces will work, the numbers will be in a circle though rather than pushed out to the corners. Two screenshots of pujie app showing the way a round is displayed compared to a square face.
I used a face from the Pujie app and enlarged the font and used a black font with a white background which has been working for me in the daylight. If anyone has a better color combination for outdoor reading please let me know.
Began using the WatchMaker Premium and it is great since I was able to import other faces that I saw online. Loads of customization and real easy to use. Now using a black background with white letters having a red outline. Neat!
I have been using the Armorsuit Shield, bought from Amazon, and it has been great in protecting my watch. After a few months the upper left corner came up and after writing about that to the Armorsuit, they sent me a replacement. Have reinstalled it and it appears to be fine. My watch is a flat surface so it was easy to apply the shield. My concern regarding loss of light to the screen proved not to be an issue.

Screen polarization

Fortunately I didn't notice any of hardware problems mentioned here (multitouch, light bleed), but there is one pretty annoying "feature" regarding display - it's polarized in such way that it's unusable with polarized glasses in portrait orientation - why would they do that, i didn't experience that on any other phone or tablet that I own. To be honest, if i knew that before, might even reconsider buying it...
Don't use polarized glasses, simple. Polarized feature is not necessary.
Well, you could call that the easiest solution ?. Funny enough, I haven't been using polarized sunglasses for long, just bought my first pair couple of months ago - guess I should go back to regular aviators.

Yeah, this sucks. VERTICAL polarization on a phone screen, what the heck were they thinking!?!? 95% of phones are 45 degree or at least horizontal

Yes, I can see other phones screen 100% fine with polarized sunglasses. That's the whole point of polarization in sunglasses - it only reduces the brightness of light that is too bright, rather than cheap sunglasses that just dim everything.
98% of sunglasses use vertical aligned polarization, which is why like 98% of LCD displays do NOT use vertical polarization - to avoid 100% photon neutralization.
Watch a video on YouTube for the science or something. It's a crap move from whoever made the LCD on this device no matter how you spin it.

It's a while since I did physics at school but I can't imagine that much has changed in terms of the way light travels. I don't think a simple screen protector is going to have any impact on the orientation of polarisation of light from your screen.
I don't mean to be unhelpful, but it strikes me that the only way round this is the most obvious one of removing your spectacles
Edit - just googled and found this interesting thread addressing the same issue with an HTC 10. One poster suggests using a waveplate to scatter the orientation, but this is a bit ridiculous since I'm pretty sure your touchscreen would be massively compromised (waveplates need to be fairly thick and are rigid as far as I know).
Take your glasses off or use the phone landscape I'd say
It doesn't make sense to me either, but some Redmi Not 5 users in this thread claim that it did help. Doesn't hurt to try, I ordered tempered glass from aliexpress, will see.
I've ordered the glass protector just for protection but I'd be nice if it worked like it does in this video posted earlier https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=67p5phutxc4
Edit: I remembered I've got a spare glass for another phone at home, I'll try as soon as I get my lunch break and I'll let you know.

I posted the video in post #8
@fireblade Sorry I didn't have time to follow the link earlier. Really interesting! Presumably the screen protector and/or its own protective film (which you can see in the video) must between them scatter the light?
I would be careful about removing the film from the protector, since this might be the bit that's doing the magic.
Consider also that your overall brightness is likely to be reduced somewhat by this scatter.
Good luck! I'll be really interested to hear how this works out
as promised i tested the poco with an old screen protector and i can say it works a beauty! its not crystal clear but its definately readable! and i just tried holding the glass between the lcd and the sunglasses, it may look better once applied properly. sorry for the poor quality pics but photos were taken with lenovo p2 (sh*tty camera) and i was in a rush.

You need to remove the protective film (1 Back, etc..) of glass protector to be sure that all works
I don't think it makes any difference since it is a normal plastic film.. But I'll check it properly tomorrow when I get the poco's tempered glass.
I think it might be due to quantum properties of light, this video seems to explain a similar concept, not sure though

Probably no difference, but better to be sure.
