Hello together!
May you can help me? I ordered a KeySonic ACK-3400BT bluetooth-keyboard. The pairing with the device worked without any trouble. The first issue i found, ist that my device and my BT-Keyboard are German, but the WM6.5 interprets the external keyboard as english (y and z are switched). OK, but with that i can live. The bigger problem is, if i open the internal hardware-keyboard and try to use the external Keyboard, the whole keymap is wrested. For example i cant write anything else then letters with shift. Every key reqires the FN-Key ist usable external.
Anyone has a tip for me? Thx for helping!
Phil

1st of all i beg your pardon for my english, cause I'm Italian =)

and 3rd i've got a problem:
i own a Pocketop original keyboard wireless (IrDA), which is designed to work with ppc or ppc 2002 devices... can't I change the driver, the cab or whatever, so that i can write with the keyboard?
tnx a lot
Try this -
Found this on another thread - it worked for me, so maybe you'll have the same luck. A curse on those weasels at Pocketop.

Hello,
I have a little problem with my keyboard.
As I live in Belgium I use AZERTY-Keyboards not QWERTY-Keyboards.
Well,
I had an AZERTY-Keyboard on my Archos 70 IT.
I installed an other keyboard but it was only QWERTY thus I uninstalled it.
And now my built-in Archos Keyboard is QWERTY.
I changed my language and everything but still no progress...
Can someone please answer me ???
Its annoying coz I dont chat often on my Archos and I miss tap key's everytime =(.
Please help???
Thanks <3.

Hi all,
Up to here I've tested 3 USB keyboards, all AZERTY and they all act as QWERTY :-(
Looking on the play store I found an app (External Keyboard Helper) and I've tried everything : using French and English layouts, re-assigning each key, etc. and nothing works.
It really pi**es me off because everything else works fine : volume controls, play/pause/next/back, etc. but it's impossible to write with this problem.
If anyone else has the same problem, please let me know. Even better, if one of you thinks he has a solution or workaround PLEASE answer.
Thanks all.

Solutions ?
If you are rooted (not my case yet), try this method : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1082408
If not, you can try External Keyboard Helper (didn't work for me) or UpSoft Clavier AZERTY on Play Store (1,50€, will maybe try and give feedback).
Admins, I'm leaving this as it might help future people that encounter the same problem. If ou think it's useless feel free to delete.
Thanks
EDIT : None of these solutions worked for me... :-( Will try again once I update to ICS and root.
Hello everyone,
I bought my phone on amazon.de. I'm from Germany. On our German qwertz keyboard y and z are interchanged. Of course into the settings I set the input languuage to German, but If I touch y it writes z. Maybe someone know this problem.
I understand english, but I can't write english textes. Sorry
Same here. It happened after a did a wipe. All languages gone except German and the Samsung keyboard has the reversed z,y. Any ideas or anyone know were to get the keyboard apk?
same Problem here.
any ideas?
I'm trying to use an external Bluetooth keyboard and my Find N language is set to English. But since I need to have Portuguese layout, I have installed SwiftKey and the layout is in Portuguese (no problem with that).
When I connect and pair my external keyboard (also with Portuguese layout), I can only write with the English layout on the external keyboard. So, I went to Android external keyboard layout and set it to Portuguese but I cannot use the Portuguese layout on the external keyboard.
I also check the configuration on SwiftKey keyboard and removed all layouts except Portuguese, but the external keyboard still "writes" in English. I downloaded, from PlayStore the extra layouts and apply it to android, same issue, no Portuguese layout.
Thinking that SwiftKey had some problem, I changed the default keyboard to Oppo's Baidu keyboard, but it's the same issue. Also in Baidu keyboard, I changed the layout to one of the available layouts but the keyboard still is using English layout.
Then, I tried a USB keyboard (not Bluetooth) with Portuguese layout and the same issue happens. Also, I made the same tests as mentioned above.
The problem is that, in the past, I was able to use Portuguese layout on my external keyboard, but after a reboot, I'm not able to change it, despite all configurations saying Portuguese layout.
So, my question: did anyone had a similar issue using external keyboards with different layout than English? Is there any adb command I can use to force a different layout on the external keyboard?
No one has this same issue?

Omg I do.
Did you find out the solution already?
Your problem is exactly the same as mine.
Ctrl+Space or whatever doesn't seem to be working.
It always stays at English. Please help
I wasn't able to fix the issue without doing a full reset. I tried to install a new set of keyboard layouts/keymap, but none worked for me. Since I had the upgrade to Android 13 available, I took the new version, but even then it didn't work. In the end, the solution was to full reset the device. After that, everything was working fine. My little understanding is that "something" (App or file) got "damaged" and the phone wasn't able to use the correct keymap, even after installing different keymaps.
By the way, one thing I noticed, when I had the problem, my Bluetooth gamepad also stopped working fine, so, I suspect it had something to do with the gamepad.
