Hi!
Been looking around for any possibilities to connect an external LCD-screen (not necessarry touchscreen) for the TyTn?
I think it would be very useful for instance when running a GPS prog in the boat, where TyTn screen is way to small.
Touchscreen or not, any ideas or tips is greatful!
You can try with a laptop and the app soti pocket controller thats lets you operate the ppc from the computer (you can zoom the size of the ppc's screen)
It is expensive but easier..
good luck!
I know there are some touch screens on eBay i have seen that now come with a USB connection, that might work. I also have been looking into this myself but i have not found any definite answers...
Hi all, I was wondering if there was anyone here who has or atleast heard of anyone that has the TV Out Cable. I was interested and needed to know if the FM radio function worked with the cable plugged in?
Also, if I was using a touchscreen computer monitor, could my touches control my TP2?
I just tried using the tv out cable and it doesn't work with the FM radio. Still asks to plug in headset. Also tried the adapter and you need to plug in the headset as well. Plugged in 3.5mm headset and working now.
as for the touch screen. i dont think you'll be able to because the touch screen computer monitors need to send a signal back to the device to let it know where your touching.
BUT what you could do is install a software on your pc like Soti Pocket Controller, i think theres similar software thats free, then control your device via your pc from that software.
the tv out cable does not work with raido and i am glad i was given 30 days to return it is worthless for this phone but it is suposed to be`able to use on future htc phones
no the touchscreen will not work simply because you need a conection between the touchscreen itself not the display, touchscreens use two conections, one for the display and one for the touch input, so if you was to plug the display adapter to the phone, where are you going to plug the touch input? now... im working on a carpc and i was thinking it would be cool to use my phone as a frontend, since everything is mobile and so convinient, but i need my touchscreen to control my phone, so i need somewhat what i used to have for my omnia, which is a program that displays the phones screen on your pc monitor and you can use your mouse and keyboard to control your phone, since my touchscreen replaces the mouse, voila! it could happen, but i cant remember the name of the program and cant seem to find the htc equivalent, now somobody help!? lol

Sounds like you want MyMobiler. Free, gives direct control of your phone through mouse/keyboard (or whatever you have that replaces them), in a scalable window.

That's what I was going to suggest. I use MyMobiler all the time, and it's awesome.
BUT: While it's fine for normal phone use and presentations, it's no good for video or games, because the refresh rate is low. That's where the TV out cable would be more appropriate.
my mobilizer is win...
a tad bit laggy but if you connect your phone to your computer with it, you can then use the touch screen on you computer to control the cell
got mine today
I ordered an aftermarket TV Out cable from a dealer on eBay... $12.50 including shipping. It arrived today, and it was a good purchase.
I will be able to use it for PowerPoint presentations (and to show YouTube videos) at work. Video resolution isn't bad on a 40" HDTV and doesn't lag. I use MyMobiler all the time on my desktop and laptop PCs, but this adds yet another ability to my awesome Tilt 2.
Good day to everyone! As an Archos 70IT owner (which as you know has only 100ma of power provided for usb interface) i wonder does 3g dongles like Sierra 595u can be self-powered, meaning they will use built-in accu (like 595u which has 1750mah) to work in presense of insufficient power from Archos usb host. I believe that there are a lot of such devices with their own batteries, maybe they will help us (70IT owners) to solve problem with low output on usb port or finding external power supplies.
Second question i realized just in googling about 595u. Apparently it has a built-in GPS reciever - obvious question: can this gps reciever be also used (along with 3g or separately) thru usb cable?
I bought that product last week and got it 3 days ago.
Well the Usb connector is cool if u want to use a regular keyboard or a memory stick
It does give power to my usb headset, but sound keep coming out from speakers
It doesnt give enought power to my usb Goflex Freeagent external Hard drive
As for the SD connector, well here come my questions since i didnt have any SD card nearby and i want to know before buying one.
Can I put my titanium backup/rom manager backups on an external SD card ?
Can i put Movies on the external SD cars and then watch them on my tab ?
I ask this last question because i got quite a few games that are taking lots of internal space and i only have the 16gb tab. I like 720p movies but they weight around 4gb and thats pretty much all the space i have left on the tab so i though i could put them on an external SD since my external HD cant be plug into the tab.
sorry for my poor writting skills, i hope u guys understand what i mean
MORE :
I tried to read a movie from a memory stick plugged into the usb connector that was plugged into the tab and it did work but, video player like moboplayer arent flipping the screen, this mean that the stick and connector are in the 30pin connector wich is at the bottom of the tab so u cant watch a movie with the tab standing in the portrait position (see picture)
Do you guys know a videoplayer that will rotate the screen so my sd card or memory stick would be at the top ?
I've only ever used the stock player, and it rotates fine.

Hello XDA,
Bit of a question; my SGS did support TV-out, so I could put it on a TV, OR.... hook it up with a capture card for easy screen recording.
Does the SGS III support this too? I do have the cable for it, although it being for a JVC camcorder and a bit to short. And if not, any other way to do it either doing it in a similar manner or software. And else, any ROM which supports it? ;p
Thanks in advance,
Edit: I do have a SD capture card, MAY be upgrading to a HD one in the future which will record HDMI. For that I can get an MHL connector thingamajig,
To my knowledge the SD-output has been removed and only HDMI remains.
However there are adapters capable of converting HDMI to VGA or SD signals, they tend to be around 20 bucks and some don't need an external power supply to work (e.g. I got one such from LIGAWO for my Laptop)
Since I never tried it on the S3 (don't have a MHL) I dont know if it has sufficiently high output current on the HDMI port (0.5Amp)
