belt holster/clip - Touch Pro2, Tilt 2 Accessories

Any idea what the best one to get (for not a lot of money) is? I just need a simple holster to attach it to my belt so I'm not having to carry it around in my pocket. I'm trying to avoid having lint getting under my screen on this one like it has on other phones in the past.
I have one I picked up at Target but it is really too tight and it tends to press buttons if I get a call and I'm struggling to get it out of the holster. It's also hard enough to remove that I've come close to dropping it on more than one occasion so I pretty much don't use it anymore.

I picked up a leather vertical one on ebay, it came with an i phone label on, but the TP2 fits OK, got a second security to hold it on, all in all very good.

Cases for Wizard

Anyone have any leads on sources of cases to fit the Wizard? The one that comes with the K-Jam look decent of first view, but since I'll probably want something nicer I figured I would get this thread started.

Well, an update on this, I picked up a Targus Small Camera case Model DCCS00 and while it is a bit loose front to back it fits nicely side to side. A bit bulky but functional and It is easy to insert/remove the device. Also it securely attaches to my belt so I don't have to worry about scraping it off on my office chair. It'll do until someone releases a 'made for' case.

any news with more cases to buy for the k-jam??
anyone?
I ordered and got this case for my wizard after it was recommended on another board. The guy said he found it at a mall in NY at a mobile phone accessory cart. I like it a lot. Fits perfect. The belt clip (although it isnt visible) has a built in swivel so you can wear it vertical / horizontal / or on an angle. I wear it at an angle and its so easy to place in pouch and pull out. I can also charge with the wizard in the case becuase it has a small opening in the bottom.

I just ordered an OEM blackberry 71xx slip case belt clip and Tre 6xx slip case from ebay.

I like to concept of slip case rather than attaching something on my belt.
I'll keep everyone posted here...
Review: PDair booktype leather case
I did a review of the PDair booktype leather case here:

Cheers, Sabesh.
I wonder if the flip type PDAir case uses the same technique to keep the k-jam in place.
I prefer the not so bulky cases. using the case that came with Treo 600 atm and it fits perfectly. slightly tight but it fits in my jacket pocket a lot better than any other cases that I've tried.
I have decided to give BB 71xx pouch a try. I had to stretch it a bit in order to get my qtek a nice fitting.
http://natt108.net/qtek/
I am also in a process of streching my treo 600 slip case with a pair of socks and will post some pictures tonight when I get home.
Does anyone have an IPOd 2/3rd Gen slip case? Can you please try and see if it'll fits nicely with your Wizard?
Blackberry 71xx case
Just taken delivery of this case:
http://www.yourwirelesssource.com/shop/5/model/235388/accessory/245843/cat/31
(though from a uk supplier)
Fits nice and snug, and the slightly extra height of the case (about 5mm) can allow you to attach the handsfree kit to the bottom of the phone, son can be used without removing from the case (the voice dial button is also accessible, as is the power button).
A slight negative is that the sides/top corner still have the potential to be damaged on dropping, but I guess most type of slip cases leave some parts exposed.

For those using the WIZA100 variant of the Wizard...

Got this case this AM. It is for the dopod 838 or VPA Compact II. So far so good my only gripe is that the case doesn't allow access to the messaging and ie buttons [when closed] and it is kinda slippery [maybe use it in tandem with a neck strap or handstrap]

They have one for the WIZA200 models as well

Hi guys
Just received my ali PDair case - ordered Thurs night arrived this morning, outstanding service!! A great case too!!
Simon
I heard something about Aluminium cases and low gsm signal..
Are you having that kind of experience on your ppc ;
I currently have the Htc Wizard/ qtek 9100 and i am looking for a case.
Probably i'll go for the leather one.
no signal problems for me so far been using it for almost a week now... of course signal strength is also determined by your network coverage as well not only your device
Hi
Just checked on the signal stregth, one room in my house has a very weak GSM signal for Vodaphone and when using the PDair case it drops by 1 bar.
Must be shielding
Simon
Plastic screen cover
Does the aluminum case by PDair have a plastic screen cover to protect the screen like the Armor Case by Boxwave (www.boxwave.com)?
yep they have hard plastic screen
PDAir Case
Sabesh mentioned velcro in his review of the PDAir case. Does that mean there is some 'sticky pad attachment' to be done. The case says it closes with magnets, so I can't figure out where the velcro comes in unless it's to secure the handset. if that means sticking something on to the handset then I'm not so keen. i need to be able to get the handset out easily to fit in my car kit.
TIA, Davebo.

Cingular 8125 case issues

I got the monaco leather case for the 8125 from Extreme PDA:
http://www.extremepda.com/page/XPDA/PROD/cingular_8125_accessories/CING8125FLIPCASE
Even though a lot of people said they liked it and it seemed to be the most ideal for constant use, the bottom line is after a week I can't stand having it on my 8125. Here's what I realized:
- Even though it allows the keyboard to slide out, actually holding the device with the case flip behind it makes it tough to type comfortably.
- Folding back the flip every time I get a phone call and securing it in place is not practical.
- The cover inadvertantly causes the phone to either ignore or answer calls by applying pressure on the dial/hangup buttons. While this isn't an issue if the device is in standy, on an incoming call it is. Locking the device is useless because on an incoming call, the phone buttons are unlocked even if the device itself is locked.
After a week of this I finally gave up and took the 8125 out of the leather case. I am worried about it getting dropped/scratched but I just can't find a solution that's practical enough. How are the rest of you dealing with these issues?
yeah most people forget that it's a phone too and not just a pda. so having it in a case like that just makes it more work to answer calls and use the device.
I'm using the Mobile Glove Executice Black Tie Series holder. its a better design than the free case that comes with the 8125. The flap has a magnet in it so it closes really good. I bought it at a mall stand for $30 http://www.mobileglove.com/mobileglove.html it's design for the Treo 650 and similar handheld devices. it fits perfect
I purchased this case and am very happy with it. I don't experience any of the issues described by devGOD. http://cgi.ebay.com/Deluxe-Leather-...ryZ15036QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
I've bought items from this person for other PDAs and highly recommend him. He also has some other cases for the 8125 available.

Leather Cases
Hi there. The case listed above was my third case for the 8125. So far I like it the most. This is why I am still looking for a case. Taking it off and putting it on the belt clip is somewhat of a hassle because of the placement of the snap that keeps the thing closed. It gets in the way and it's making it hard to grab the phone in time to answer the ring. Also, using the keyboard is a little akward while it's in the case. Just take it out when at home but when out and about it gets a little tedious.
My next purchase might be the holster but at $30 it's a bit pricy.
Case to consider: Krusell Cabriolet
Here is what fit the bill for me.
http://sfplanet.com/product/87182
Use the phone/screen without any flaps. If you need to use the keyboard, it slides out easily. However, you can shake it upside down and it will stay put.
Krusell offers many choices for additional adaptors to fit your lifestyle. I bought and use their: Carabiner & Swivel Lanyard. I do like the belt clip one it came with - it is the easiest to remove that I've tried, but I don't like extra baggage around the waist.
Here is a link to a website that reviewed 8 cases.

I'll look at one of those "deluxe leather cases" on ebay next. Just got a black metal PDAair case off ebay, trying it out. It's ok so far, not sure if it's a keeper. I'm used to having a metal case on my PDA, but I don't usually carry my PDA on my belt, so I'm not sure if I'll stick with it or go leather. I actually started to like the OEM pouch while I used it, but I want constant protection.
Has anyone tried the following case?
http://cgi.ebay.com/T-Mobile-MDA-PD...8QQihZ015QQcategoryZ15036QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
out of my research, i'm beginning to believe that the case that offers the most protection, AND easy usage without much dabbling every time the phone rings seems to be:
http://cgi.ebay.com/Deluxe-Leather-...4QQihZ010QQcategoryZ15036QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
can anybody post saying otherwise? I'm curious to see if anybody has tried it.
I wish those had black stitching, but that case is most likely my next canidate if I try another one.
My black pdair metal case is doing ok, though I had my first drop today, the stupid stud unscrewed from the back of the case. I was kind of worried about that when I got it, the screw was awfully shallow.
The best case is no case
Hi there:
I read the 8 case review and, after doing so, I purchased the Noreve model. It is a beautiful case. The problem is, for me, that I use my 8125 primarily as a phone, and then as a PDA. I also use it a fair amount with a GPS device. For the phone, I find it most useful OUT of the case. Or, sometimes, when it is in my car holder, it is also out of the case. When using GPS, it is out of the case (but secure).
The Noreve is beautifully made, but the 8125 inside of it is like a brick. I find it 'geeky' to use the case with the phone. In fairness, what I like about the Noreve is that the case folds BEHIND the unit when you are talking and therefore does not hang down like a big dog's tongue. You can also use the keyboard in the Noreve, but the device is not that securely inside of it.
The case I use almost everyday is a case I found on eBay. I prefer the horizontal case, although I believe there is a vertical model. It covers the device well enough, has holes for you to push the device out of the case while on your belt when the phone rings, and then allows you to easily slide the phone back in. The belt is secure, and it is fairly light weight. I used to carry my old iPaq in my suit pocket. The 8125 is just too heavy; it works much better on the waist.
It is cheap but durable and it works!

Oh, BTW, that deluxe case is the same case Brando has.
http://shop.brando.com.hk/bwdopod838leathercase.php
i ordered mine tonight. Given the insane amount of research ive done, i'm definitely sure this one is going to be the one with the least amount of risk to try. I'll let you guys know when all is said and done.
Lex, I know what you mean about spending insanely long hours researching cases, as I just went through it. In a fashion uncharacteric of the way I usually work, I ended up buying four cases: Sena Form-fit, Krusell Cabriolet, Krusell Handit, and Piel Frama. The latter is the model with the strap that allows using the keyboard without removal from the case.
I read the 8-case review over and over, and still couldn't decide. The Krusells were cheap, so I bought two on Ebay for a total of $40. I found the Piel Frama on Ebay for $50. I decided to keep the Piel Frama and Handit. Here are some observations:
Sena Form-fit: Very well-made, but has one big flaw: The magnetic closure, which otherwise I like very much, causes the device to fall out if the case is inverted on the clip. In the first week the MDA fell out twice with no damage, so I sold the case. Also, the belt clip was backordered for a month, and I don't know if that has been rectified.
Krusell Cabriolet: Okay, but leaves screen pointing outward and unprotected; same for top. With the swivel clip I was worried it would fall out like with the Sena issue above. I was nervous using it, so I returned it.
Krusell Handit: Nice, inexpensive, well-designed, and no big flaws. I'm keeping it. I would recommend this one for an expensive case that works very well and looks good, but the keyboard is not accessible without removing the device. The swivel belt clip sticks out a bit and flops around on your belt, which is a minor irritant.
Piel Frama: Well-made, very nice looking and stylish, and another keeper. This will be my main case, but it has some flaws, too:
1. The card slots are directly over the screen (no problems so far). A moderate blow might cause the cards to touch the screen, but I'm not sure if that's a real concern.
2. The flip tends to trip the top-front buttons, but I usually put my device in standby before closing the flip, so this isn't usually a problem.
3. Earpiece connector is difficult to negotiate. The hole doesn't line up precisely and the flip is hard to snap when it is inserted. This isn't a major problem.
Virtues include accessibility to the keyboard by just removing a small strap. Best looking case I've seen.
I've decided there is no perfect case, and the only way to determine which is best for you is spend two weeks researching like I did. The 8-case review previously cited is a good start, and if you want a Krusell or Piel Frama keep an eye out on Ebay. The Piel Framas are hard to find, and from the manufacturers site in Europe they are $75, but show up on Ebay from time to time. I was emailed last week with an offer for one like mine from an Ebay seller for only $46 shipped, so if anyone wants a Piel Frama with the strap, let me know. It may still be available.[/b]

TMobile Store Belt Holster?

Did anybody here buy the holster from the tmobile store that they have that the g1 supposedbly fits in?
its around 24$ i think.
It was closed by sort of 2 clip things.
i'm primarily looking for a horizntal belt holster...
any ideas?
i have the body glove, it is in that price range. love it if thats what your asking
Theres a magnetic one, that fits a sidekick, it's what i use.
Body Glove
I have the Body Glove also and it's great. Perfect for the person (like me) who is rough on phones. And it looks good too.
I purchased the crystal gel case from boxwave It covers the G1 completely and offers excellent protection for when you drop the phone. I also bought the niteize side belt case. It clips on your belt and the elastic allows it to expand enough for the phone with the gel case on it to fit. This case closes with velcro so there are no magnets to create problems.
I got the one from the T-Mobile store last week but it's not the up and down one. But I have to admit was worth the money (even though I didn't end up paying for it love the gf) The one I got sits sideways but very nice and fits the phone well. Was a little snug at first but about 2 days later the phone just slides in to the case very nice.

I talked to a TMO rep at the store and said no accessories for G1 should have any magnets due to the compass feature. He advised that if you are going to use an aftermarket case, to make sure it doesn't have any magnets. The case TMO sells are magnet free for the G1.
As for the holster, I have it and though it fits the phone snug, be careful as the screen is facing out so make sure you have a screen protector.
I just bought my G1 last 2 weekends ago with a tmobile store belt clip, fits perfectly, sturdy rotating clip for horizontal or vertical placement, gets annoying having to take it out to text or open keyboard but otherwise perfect...24$
the pleather tmo horizontal case with attached clip. it's soft but not screen friendly soft on the inside so the screen protector is a must. great product though.
One warning. If you have a tendency to forget to snap the buttons, make sure you're using a hard or jelly shell to make the phone fit snugly. the basic stretchy straps on the sides are just barely too long to make the phone 100% secure IMHO without it.
i personally like this one.
http://www.fommy.com/view-full-page.asp?divid=T-Mobile&model=T-Mobile+G1&cat=Cases&skuno=82922
you can use it with the screen either facing out for in for screen protection.
I bought this one by Seidio. I had one just like it for my Blackberry 8820 and loved it. I love this one too.
http://www.g1depot.com/seidio-spring-holster/4A24A4902.htm
Buy a bodyglove that has a belt clip for your g1 phone. You won't need to buy a suction cup or dash holder for your g1.
I clip it to my rear view mirror after pushing back the rear view mirror tab. Then I close the tab. Stays in place and very sturdy. It's even easier to see since it is under the rear view mirror and safer too!
I also can use the belt clip to hang the phone off my laptop. I don't clip it, just use the space between the glove and clip to hang it.
Also, the rubbery glove protects your phone if you drop it.

T-Mobile US TP2 Case

Getting my TP2 tomorrow, but really wondering about this...
Seeing pictures of the leather 'case' that comes with the TP2 elsewhere than in the US, is it the same case without belt clip in the T-Mo US TP2?
If it is, I want to be ready when I pick up my phone to get a belt clip equipped case as well.
Yeah man... the US tp2 comes with a gay looking leather case that has no belt clip. It looks like you have a man purse imo
yeah a man purse that slides into your pocket
You guys weren't lying -- that thing is pathetic. I don't know what the heck HTC was thinking when they packaged that.
The T-Mobile guy was also full of crap when he said they had one with a belt clip. Looks like I'll be doing some shopping online.
Thanks for the heads up on that one!
yes the cases htc give are always junk. i like the bodyguardz skin cases simply because the phone is already kinda thick and it does protect the phone. kinda of a pain to put on but after my 4th attempt throughout the years i think i did my best on the touch pro 2.
nko, does the screen protector part feel rubbery and make the touch screen a little less sensitive? I know it is like that with the Zagg on my friend's iPhone.
Got this hard thick rubberized case at the tmo store. It comes with a snap in/out belt clip if wanted. Seems to fit tp2 very well, and leaves accessible all need openings.
I just used the belt clip that came with my Wing. Fits like a glove!
Hand me downs FTW!
i am still using the case my dash came with for my tp2, it fits.
I just bought me a $5 case with belt clip. I just have to cut a hole for the ear jack. I'm not spending $10+ for a case

Yeah, I think I'm just gonna use the belt clip case that came with my Hermes. It's just a little longer but it fits for now.
Has anyone installed a full body screen protector like the bodyguardz ones? I saw this one on ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=370244520409&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT
But I bought this for the time being: http://cgi.ebay.com/for-HTC-TOUCH-P...ries?hash=item4399b91c94&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14 (from what I've heard, these pop off easily)
This is a very delicate process for me. It's a balance between too bulky and too little protection. I want it to be able to survive it's first dreaded drop without cracking the case. I may just try to use both of them at the same time. When I'm doing physical work, I'll put the rubber case on, and when I'm at the desk, just have it out with the clear protector. I just wonder if you can clip on the rubber housing over the clear protector. The perfect thing for me would be to just have a rubber skin that slides over the whole body of the phone because I don't slide the keyboard out much anyway. That way it could be protected when I'm on the move and I can easily take it off when not.
I also bought one of those generic belt clip holders for $5: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=310161485996&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT I had one before and their alright. The loops on the back will secure the phone to you if you're moving around but the clip may sag overtime though. I know I'll be replacing it eventually. The HTC OEM cases are much better, but no loops. There's never a perfect solution.
BTW: Does anyone know if the rubber case from the Touch HD will fit?
^^Just ordered one of those this afternoon. Looks similar to one I had before but can't beat $5 and then about $.50 in cashback haha

Holster

I currently have the Telus leather holster for my Touch Pro 2, however, I must say that this thing is a piece of crap.
I'm on my second one in ~3 months. The part that holds the clip to the holster just pulls off...
I wear the phone / holster constantly, so I need something that's going to hold up to wear-and-tear. It needs to be leather, it needs side in-and-out vertically (I've seen iPhone holsters where the iPhone slides in-and-out horizontally...which is terrible imo), and it needs to have a magnetically-attaching strap to hold the phone in place (the way I wear it, it's sometimes point down...don't want the phone just sliding out...).
To be totally honest, I LOVE the Blackberry holsters...the only thing I like about BBs, actually...
So if someone could suggest and preferably link to some high-quality TP2 holsters, that'd be great!
Thanks
It may sound silly but I have gotten my last two holsters (one for my tilt and one for my tilt2) at our local flea market. $5 for a leather holster with magnetic clasp with both a metal spring clip on the back and 2 belt loops. The nice thing about doing the flea market thing you can get a better fit in most cases.
You might check out Sena Cases or Krusell. They both make nice leather cases.
Any other suggestions?
>_>
The large pda Krussel case is the way to go. It also has a belt loop.
No sense loosing your device to a belt clip.
Only problem with it is you can't use the usb dongle.
