As I have seen many are still struggling with the upgrade or having post-upgrade problems I am posting this thread in hope of helping those Xda II owners from the O2 Asia affected or concerned.
The end result of the upgrade will be as follows.
ROM version: 2.06.00WWE
ROM date: 06/14/04
Radio version: 1.18
Protocol version: 1337.38
ExtROM version: 1.12.925WWE
DeviceData:

This upgrade has been performed on my Xda II which has a BootLoader 1.01 hence those with a later BootLoader please consider this thoroughly.
Errors
First off. If previous attempts have been fouled by the Country ID error obstacle please proceed with this step to rectify by reverting your Xda II back to original O2 state. Else skip this.
Download the compressed file attached, unzip and run HimaUpgradeUt.exe whilst your Xda II is docked and ActiveSynced.
Flash
Here is the upgrade proper.
Download the compressed file attached, unzip and if you are equipped, modify the Extended ROM to your fancy as you deemed fit.
Else run HimaUpgradeUt.exe whilst your Xda II is docked and ActiveSynced.
TBC
Will resume morrow with enhancements that are left out from the Extended ROM.
I have 'No Eye Deer' what the response would be like for this thread as what I only wish to offer is stability and reliability.
Anyways I would want to take this opportunity to thank all those involved and contributed in making WM 2003 SE on the Xda II a reality.

I'll try it tonight. However, just a few ideas for your EXT ROM.
Is the bluetooth icon on Today's screen still playing hide-and-seek? I tried Buzz and another guy's solution (at othet threads) but they still don't work especially when switching from landscape-to-portrait and vice versa and performing other tasks when there's a need to do a screen refresh. If it works flawlessly for your PPC maybe you can incorporate into the EXT ROM depending on which version you're using.
Secondly, can incorporate the latest SDIO WiFi driver (just released) because I could not find the cab file for the EXT ROM installation.
Thirdly, can replace with colourful keyboard layout instead of the default mono keyboard? Not sure how to do it from the EXT ROM side.
I think the rest I can customize myself

Thanks for the support and feedback Bro.
Initially the reason behind me intentionally leaving out some of the cabinet files are so that users can customize to their own flavour but keeping those that are the backbone of a reliable and stable WM 2003 SE Xda II.
However your point is noted and I think it is a good idea. I am working on it now.
Revised Extended ROM
The Extended ROM has been revised to contain BlueTooth Today Profile Fix. Please redownload from the earlier post thank you.
As for the other enhancements as promised will be provided soon.
This thread is also for new Xda II users/owners who are keen on upgrading to WM2003SE but keep running into a wall or are clueless. Simply download and run the ROM and your Xda II should be up and running on WM2003SE.
Seasoned members who suffer from post-upgrade problems and issues please feel free to ask about customizing your own Extended ROMs and compatibilities.

One thing I notice is that the SDIO WiFi cab file (the older version) is rather large and incorporating it into the EXT ROM wil mean you don't have enough EXT ROM memory for other cab files.

Can i use extended rom unlocker and directly import the contents of the rom on my xda then make a hard reset or is it more advisable to re-flash the rom with se2?

Bro you can download the XdaIIx.zip and upgrade as you do not have the Country ID Error. I have tweaked my ROM to default original O2 state so if you do run into the error than you should run the fix in the O2.zip file.
The revised Extended ROM now contains the BlueTooth Today Profile Fix.

If your Xda II is already running on WM2003SE 2.06.00WWE (neat - untouched) and has no issues or problems you may perform the former but if you do I strongly suggest the latter.

Hi DR.
Once you've finished your new EXTROM could you upload as a zip file instead of the ms_.nbf file.
The reason is that we already have the main ROM and the radio installed so no point going through that process again. Using zip file I can further customize and install the files into my EXTROM and perform a hard reset to get the installation done.

You can see A LOT of people getting VERY confused with all of the ROMs circulating on this site, especially with different dates of upgrade. I hope the other guys will also post their very latest ROMs that have been tested and improved.

OK guys!
Finally, I solved the mystery of why after loading the profile.dll (even in the EXT ROM) my Today bluetooth icon still disappears despite successful reports from other users.
What I've done was go to the EXT ROM (with the profile.dll loaded in it) and click on the profile.dll cab file. It'll ask you to soft reset your PPC and after which the bluetooth icon on the Today screen remains sticky FOREVER!

Now, the question is why during the booting up phase after a hard reset the profile.dll cab is not activated? Instead Ive to go to the EXT ROM to activate it after the complete installation?
DR, can you look into this? Does this happen to your installation?

Well, I have downgraded today from WM2005 to WM2003SE (cause I found it was a bit too slow for me...especially after standby mode).
it wasn't any problem doing the downgrading, and I reused the version I had before the upgrading. (which was ok before)
ROM version: 1.72.00WWE
ROM date: 03/15/04
Radio: 1.14.00
Protocol version: 1337.24
The big prolbem is that the hardware button supposed to open the camera cannot be fixed to the camera application, and this is due to the fact that there isn;t this possible function at the specific box. It seems I can;t find the camera application button anywhere in the menus (not that I know many how to get really deep into them).
I suppose there is a camera driver problem...or maybe the camera is there and I just can't find it. Of course I have done reset many times...And also hard reset... and the result is the same....
how can this problem be fixed? any ideas will be really heplful...

p.s. on the programs menu also the icon for games is vanished, however this can seen at the option for the menu tab....so this is not a problem, just mentioning it in case iti is heplful for you guys!!

The hardware spec. is pretty much the same, except the TouchFLO.
I think ... the Touchscreen is differnet and the main Problem. I have see, the first ported touch cube starts via hardware key! not like on a elf.

I am not too sure if the H/W if so diff... I think someone has been succesful in porting touch flow to the Wizard.

Actually, I didn't hope for the TouchFLO to work.
Just that this may be the first official WM6 ROM for HTC Device.
It may be a good and stable base ROM for further development.
Would it help if I uploaded the rom of the german o2 version of the htc touch. My brother got one yesterday. From the first look is the touchscreen pretty much the same as that of the prophet. Same memory size and processor type, too. Just more MHz.

I've tryed to flash a rom with all the OEM parts from the ELF the only new app I got working was the new camera wich by the way is realy cool. but none of the other apps worked. they did load but where not displayed. like the commanager showed no images but I could turn on bluetooth by pressing the screen where the image was supose to be.
to get it to work some dll files must be modified
what would be handy is to get the battery driver from this rom and try it, as this is still giving problems on the current WM6 roms.....

With the release of the US Touch Dual (HTC Neon 300 / Niki200) sold through Best Buy, I am looking for a willing individual to dump thier Rom so that Niki100 users can try to port it to their devices.
Dumping this Rom can help bring a stock WM6.1 Rom to other Niki owners. If you have a US Touch Dual purchased from Best Buy and you would like to help, please post here.
If there is any contributing information/problems on compatibility, development, Rom porting or if this is already in progress please feel free to update this thread.

Niki200 is only a Device Type. Niki200 Roms work on Niki100 Device too, without modding ... porting ... only dump is required!

Thats what I was wondering, and didn't know if you could do that with the diference in the bands and possible hardware changes.
Notice the image below for different camera placement on the US Touch Dual (HTC Neon 300) as compared to the Niki100. I wonder what else has changed internally.

I'm glad to see someone has also put in this request... I was under the impression that i was being ignored... hehehehe
Anyway, i'm hoping the Neon300 has the same specs as the Neon200, i've ported WM6.1 to the Neon200 but it just has to many hardware issues with a NIKI/Kaiser Rom.
So if we get a dump, we can start cooking... and get some nice Roms.
Anyone come up with a dump yet? I would very much be interested as I'm doing some development for a 6.1+ app and would love to see the stock rom on my dual.

Dumping Your ROM (51.3 MB)
I recomend saving the video to your computer for easier playback; to do this right click on the image and click "save target as" and choose a location to save it to. The tutorial is not that long but the video time is because you watch him dump his rom, I just scrolled through this.
To Upload
you can upload the raw files using a websites like www.rapidshare.com and post the links for users to download, if you need help or other solutions let me know.

I just got a Touch Dual (WWE), and was trying to dump the rom last night. I was getting an error from pdocread and ended up reading the hermes dumping entry on the wiki and came across this regkey change:
HKLM\Security\Policies\Policies
valuename '00001001' was set to dword:2, change it to dword:1
Once I performed that pdocread worked great, and dumping went perfectly.
ok i dumped my rom.but how do i rebuild it?ive read on how-to w/the kaiser RUU but is there a kitchen for the nike or do i just use the kaiser kitchen?if not,ill just upload the 4 raw files and u guys can take it from there.can i request u rip the camera app from this and make a cab file bcoz i want it my kaiser so bad,hahaha...

I will dig into this rom and see if I can get it to work on the Niki100. I will also take a look at the camera app and see what I can do. I am fairly new to cooking so I can't pomise anything at this point.

I successfully flashed the US Touch Dual Rom that was dumped to the Niki100 (20 Key)
However I am getting alot of bugs; No error messages but certain elements that do not work or are buggy. I have the NBH file if anyone is interested but it clearly has some issues. I had to create a work around to get past the error number [244] : INVALID MODEL ID and maybe this why my device ended up with these bugs.
Here is what Doesnt Work:
No system noises or sounds through internal speaker or speaker phone which also effects calls(midi ringtones work with incoming calls )
Keyboard Bug - Keyboard works like 16 Key version for the keys with numbers but other 6 keys work normal (I have Niki 20 Key Version) Example: If you press any of the number keys you get numbers, multi tapping only enters the number again. If you hit keys not on the number pad like the QW key it works normally; you get Q and if pressed again you get W.
keyboard Backlight & Quick Tasks works in reverse, backlight on/open quick list when keyboard shut and backlight off/Application closed when open. (Good news is the Quick Task is now animated with sliding motion when open/close)
Camera does not work, application works with setting controls but displays black screen. Also no second camera option.
Here is what works:

Hi mate,
I had the exactly the same issues in reverse (Flashing a NIKI Rom on the Neon) Everything worked fine except for the keyboard and backlight working in reverse.
I managed to get 99% of the issues resolved by Porting the XIP and SYS from the NIKI but leaving the NEON OEM intact. I'm guessing the issue is in the OEM/Drivers folder with a specific dll. I asked the question to a couple of senior members but wasn't able to find a solution.
You can try porting the XIP and SYS from the US version onto your Niki see how that goes.

Finally Did it
After much trouble and many glasses of wine, I now have a stock WM6.1 rom running on my Niki100. I had to port the rom from shortyboy's dump using the last known HTC WWE rom to get what I think is a complete success. Thanks shortyboy, Goines and seth2006 for all your help and motivation.

I found out you have to port the rom, a straight dump and rebuild did not fully work and gave me problems I listed in a few post back, but it did get me to finally learn some things about cooking and porting. I always have bee such a weinie to start doing this until now.

Here some discriptions:
Your Phone doesnt Ring or you dont here any Sound!
This is a Radio Rom Problem or Core DLL Problem (XIP)! Its the same Problem why HTC Kaiser use different OS for Phones with "pre build radios"+1.27, 1.58+1.64 and 1.65 Radio Roms. ATT Kaiser and Non Branded Kaiser has different Radios too. It means ... its a Driver Problem and this is the only reason!
If you have this Problem, you can try compled different Versions. I want a OS copy from Bestbuy Phone. I think they need 1.65 Radios ... i will check this today!!!! (please dont do this, if your phone isnt secure unlock and cid unlocked!!!)
Can't create a dump with the Niki Kitchen and Flash it back!
Main Problem ... you need too edit a Device File in the Niki Kitchen. I have edit the Nikikitchen for Niki Only (i change soon the Version with Neon Settings!)
In the directory "\Tools\" you can found a importent file. "htcrt_devices.ini"
Open it with a Text editor and insert this text!

i recently flashed my new niki that came right from support with the new htc shipped rom, and also the lite v2.1. but i can't seem to get the hardware drivers to work... no idea why... in lite v2.1 with 3d drivers i get extreme lags all the time and the D3D benchs, whatever u wanna call it just show errors and close. on shipped htc rom i've installed the cab found on htcclassaction.org. the dll check says "dll check finished" but it won't work anyway. none of the benchs work. im using hard spl 1.15 mfg ( might this be the problem? ) and using the radio that came with lite v2.1/shipped rom (dunno lol ) i get no audio there, but ill fix that later... so what to do now?
ok so now ive tried a few radios/spls... still no better... dll check is ok but none
of the other tools work. also performance doesn't seem to be better anywhere
Hey I had this problem and then i realised that you need to install the polaris version of the drivers not the kaiser version. The htcclassaction website is wrong. see here - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=435153
that worked fine thanks... btw: touchflo3d (not the manila 2d one ) runs fine! its nearly as fast as manila 2d!
