I tried around a dozen solutions for wired or handsfree telephoning and/or listening to music. From Jabra, Jawbone, Sennheuiser to you name it. Nothing worked fine (bad audio quality, to much surrounding noise, flimsy cables (broke), not comfortable, fell out of ear).
Since a few weeks I have a Nokia BH-503. Over the ear design and an neckband. I finally found what I was looking for.
Very good telephoning capabilities, including noise-cancelation. People can't hear Í'm phoning from my car of from whithin a train. Good listening quality, the battery lasts around 13 hours. Comfort.
The headphone costs around 80-100 euro from a retailer.
And 33 bucks (25 euro) inclusing shipping&handling at

Guess where I ordered it?

Whilst i agree that these were very good, i found the "snare" noise (often found in punk and metal music) to be...scratchy.
That's why, more than a year ago, i bought the Sony Ericsson HBH-ds980.
I have NEVER bought a piece of electronic equipment that has served me SO well, SO impressively and without fail, EVER!
http://www.sonyericsson.com/cws/products/accessories/overview/hbh-ds980?cc=il&lc=en
1) the battery lasts FOREVER (as long as u dont max the volume ofc)
2) the audio quality (esp bass!) is ASTOUNDING
3) the text doesnt work for songs (on the LCD) because that's limited to Sony Ericsson cell phones...but for calling, u can browse ur phonebook/call log without taking ur phone outta ur pocket!!!
and it costs the same as the Nokia above...
hope this mini review helps

Great Headset for Music, don't know how's the mic is on these because never used it...but audio quality is top notch...
bluetooth with a2dp, there is no such thing as best. they all suck relatively speaking. I have 7 different pairs of BT headsets. Many of what is mentioned here, and pardon the term, but they all sound like crap. An ipod nano with a set of iGrados is leaps and bounds ahead of whatever sound you get through a2dp on the D2.
If you don't mind looking like an idiot, sony brtb50s are decent. If you want compact, I really like my cheapy ARWH1 receiver paired with some er6is. Same headset plugged directly into a nano playing the exact same track is completely different though. Pick up a ARWH1 and pair it with the headphones of your choosing and you'll be happy. I paid $20 from buy.com on a special for the box and some crap headphones, but the box itself works good for what it is.
I'm thinking about getting the Sony Ericsson DS980 for my Diamond2 also~ but does anyone one know if Sony Ericsson DS205 or Sony Ericsson MW600 is any good? and are both of them compatible with Diamond2?
So which one you guys recommed (sound quality and not losing connection)?

good choice on the DS980! the DS205 has a few little things that bug me:
1) battery life was poor (could just be the unit i was using was faulty and/or old)
2) the screen is tiny! and it's not OLED...
3) the headphones that come with the unit are crap.
as for the MW600, it's great in theory. i've never used it, but it's equal to and/or better in many things than the DS980.
pairing should work on all of them though.
thx~ maybe ill try out the MW600 since i prefer a clipon , hope everythings goes good =)
Two years ago I go a set of Jabra BT2640s for dual use: #1 for my BlackJack I & #2 for PC gaming. For the money ($30-$40) they're an awesome value IMO. I I could improve anything on them I'd give the mic 16-bit audio capability so I don' sound like I'm on a phone when talking in Ventrilo.
I use a Jabra BT3030, and a set of JVC HA-FX34S Marshmallow headphones. These headphones are CHEAP...Amazon sells them for around $12USD. However, they have excellent noise reduction (around 20db), and pretty good range. Best of all, they stay put in my ears, even with a motorcycle helmet going on and off.
I've also used these headphones with the HTC audio/power adapter, but those break down pretty quickly.
Jabra BT 3030 together with an iGrado!!!
Best u can get...
Regards!

I've been using Plantronics Pulsar 590A for some time and they have worked flawlessly. Good sound and I can easily go into another room still with good sound and no interruptions.
Yesterday I tried the Sony DR-BT20NX and was really disappointed. Excellent sound but the sound dropped when I turned my back or held it behind my back. Tried it with both the Tytn and the Qtek 9100 with the same result.
Just add to the list, it would be nice to know in advance which headsets work well with the Tytn
Plantronics Pulsar 590A
Sound: Good
Reception: Really good, can walk around in my apartment without sound dropping.
Talk: No complaints except if it's really windy.
Design: Ok, however one "ear" flashes blue while in use. Makes you look like something from star trek...
Sony DR-BT20NX
Sound: Good
Reception: Extremely bad. Can not even put it in my front pocket without the sound dropping
Talk: Didn't even try. The reception was so bad these were not an option.
Design: Excellent. Looks good and you just put the strap around your neck. While not in use there are small straps for holding the plugs in place so the cable doesn't get tangled.
I really like the Jabra 8010. The hook is flexible and adjustable. It's taken awhile for me to get used to it though. I've worn a Jabra 250v forever. It has a small cord that goes around the back of the neck that hooks onto the headset on the other ear. You can use mono or stereo.
I use it/them with the HTC 8525. It brought out volume issues with the phone that I didn't know I had though. Searching, reading and people on this forum helped me get those issues fixed and now everything works perfectly.

Plantronics 590!!
I'll cast my vote for the Plantronics 590. Phenomenal with the latest A2DP and hardcore's tuning tips. Never a skip and the battery life is incredible!
More than once while listening to my Hermes with them have I've pondered the exorbitant amount of cash I've sunken into my home theater over the years.
Motorola S705
I agree on the Plantronics 590. They really raised my expectations, I thought all headsets were equally good which I have found out they are not.
Has anyone tried Motorola S705? They seem really awesome with lcd display, 3,5 mm jack (you can use your own headphones), radio, good battery life (better than with the Sony ones according to a forum I read) and BT class 1 instead of 2 which gives them a theoretical range of 100m instead of 10m which is standard. A little bigger than many but I am really tempted giving them a shot.

Interesting.
I think (and someone please correct me if I'm wrong on this) that both the BT transmitter and the BT reciever need to be Class 1 to get the kind of ranges that they state for Class 1 devices. I don't know of any current phones and only a few USB dongles that are Class 1. Class 1 devices are also more power hungry.
blueant
I highly recommend the blueant ones (X5?). I have them and then another three friends bought them. It also comes with a 3.5mm transmitter so you can use it with your PC/ipod,etc.

I'm really not looking for a device that has 100 m range, but I figure that if it has that kind of range having the phone in your front pocket or moving around in the apartment should be no problem.
Btw. The Plantronics also come with a 3,5 mm transmitter so it can be used for pretty much everything.
The Motorola set does not come with a transmitter but you can buy one separately. If you buy one you can pair it to the phone and another source at the same time. For example, if you are streaming music from your computer and you receive a call, the music mutes and the device switches to your phone.

Probably worth noting there's also Plantronics 590E which is headphones and charger only and is a great option for those who don't need all the trimmings included with the pricier 590A.

I think the pricier ones are a really good buy since you can use them with all equipment imaginable. Forgot to mention that they also come with a regular cable so if you are out of battery or sitting on a plane you can use them without bluetooth.
Wavesystec BT-1000
Saw these in a swedish shop. They are from Korea and I haven't heard of them before. They were charged and I got to try them out. The sound was good but a little low on base. They were really small and I like the way they look, although the shiny front seems to smudge easily. All controls worked like a charm and I could put them in my pocket and walk around the store without any interruptions. Maybe not hifi but the were quite cheap, the store price was 700 SEK (or about 100 $). I'm thinking of going back later this week and test the call quality. Found a website with the specs here:
http://www.alibaba.com/catalog/11283714/Bluetooth_Headset.html
Edit: Tried them again and the call sound was good. However, the bass was really too bad so I won't be buying them.
ive got some gear4 ones, get to just over 20M appart before it drops the audio, and need to get 10Ms away for it to pick it up again.

paid £11.49 for them off amazon hen they done a deal!

How about the ITech R35s? I've been debating buying them off ebay. They get real good reviews and seem like they would beat out any other kind since you use your own headphones with them!
Even has controls to switch songs. Some reviews say media player on windows mobile supports the controls some reviews say it doesnt.

I have a Nokia HS-12W as well as a HTC BH S100 and both work well on the latest WM6 ROMS.
I use the Schap's ROM without any reg edits.
The advantage of the HTC is that it has a 3.5mm jackplug on the earphone side so you can attach your favourite earphones.
The sound of the Nokia blows away my IPod. Deep base and rich treble.
The range on both are about 10 to 15 meters in an unrestricted enviroment.
The Nokia costs about twice as much as the HTC in South Africa.
I can recommend both of these Stereo BT Headsets.

Well...I bought my R35 off of Ebay and I'll say that I'm a happy customer. Sounds great to me with Sleuth's WM6 LVSW variant, A2DP skip fix, and seems to hold a charge for a decent amount of time before needing recharging. I would say that they are not very good at the telephony part however...whenever I answer or make a call with them...I always get complaints about sound from the other party. They do work with WMP for what it's worth though. I'd say they are a worthy A2DP investment especially if you have a favorite pair of headphones already...
I have some Logitech BT head phones but they are just too big/bulky for jogging, gym, etc. I was thinking how nice it would be to have my phone in my gym bag and the little R35 clipped on!

These are not stereo though...
I bought the Pulsar 260 since the Pulsar 590A have worked really well. At first I was quite disappointed but I then upgraded my rom to LVSW and the sound was dramatically improved. Some slight background noice but nothing big. Controls work well and the range is fantastic. Also no interruptions yet.
The only thing that irritates me is the cable length. You can easily clip it to your belt and so if you hang it around the neck there is a lot of cable dangling around. The sound during calls where adequate but my girlfriend said there was a little squeking noice every time I stopped talking and it was a little irritating. This was with the old rom and I have not yet tested call quality with the new rom. I will report back on that.
Edit: The call quality is adequate and the sound did improve with the new rom. The squeking sound is gone, only a little static left but nothing much.
I am very pleased with me Nextlink spider.

I got one on sale from Radioshack for $40 bucks I believe a while back. I've heard that some of the units have problems retaining battery but I have no problems with my unit. I get really great sound and reception in my 3 bedroom house. Callers can hardly tell that I am not speaking directly into my phone and its comfy too.
has any one tried this MOTOROLA HT820 Bluetooth Stereo Headphones
what r the pro n cons , if any ? Would u recommend it ?
thanks
ive been using them since January, they have a massive battery life and work really well once you get your device streaming ad2p. the sound is quite good considering the price (i paid $50AUD via ebay) theres some threads on updating the firmware but it wont work on the A model which i think is usualy the only type you get from Ebay these days. RRP was something like $120AUD which will get you the later versions.
the only 1 downside ive found is even when the headphones are switched off the battery will go flat in a day or so without charge, i just leave them on charge overnight then use them to and from work the next day.
i guess the only other side note is the size, they are a little bulky but the sound is the best part of them.
all in all a decent pair of headphones considering you will pay the same price for an official corded handsfree.
cheerz..thanks 4 the input
I bought a pair the other day after my Sony DR-BT30QB set broke. Seeing as i only payed £17.99 + p&p for my sony ones, and the price has since gone up about 200% since, i decided to buy the HT820 when i spotted them for only £14.99 + p&p. The first thing i noticed was the quality of the sound is no where near as good as i had come to expect. However after using them for 12+ hours a day (thats non-stop) for listening to Radio 1 streamed via the internet to my office PC i've gotten used to it. The battery life is awesome as you might have guessed. I've not noticed them discharging while not in use but i charge them before every use anyway. Although i use them with my Vario II and an audio transmitter i don't use them much for calls so i can't comment on what i mic is like. Also i've never been on the receiving end of a call made using them. Some people complain of pain above the ears because of the way they sit on your head. I'm completely used to that as well now.
I have been using these for about 5 months myself and I really like them. The audio quality is very nice, as is the volume and bass. I do not have the problem of the battery discharging overnight (you may want to look into warranty replacement for that).
I really like that when talking on the phone with them, audio comes through both earphones and helps isolate you from outside noise. No one I have spoken to has complained about problems with my mic, and pick up seems to be good, even when I am speaking at lower volume in a noisy public place. They do not have noise cancellation though, so sometimes I do find it hard to talk on the phone with them (while walking near a busy street)
One other neat thing about them is that you can plug in a regular 3.5mm cord and use them with non-bluetooth devices in a pinch.
Finally, the radio on them is very strong and I rarely get any interference, even when moving 20+ ft away from my device, through walls.
I recently compared them with the newer MOTOROKR S9 unit, and there is no comparison. These are, hands down, superior.
I've had two different pairs and i think these headphones really suck.
I paid $130 cad for them and was really disapointed. The suond is really flat, there's no bass, the sound is really uncrisp and they're soo bulky.
One upside is that the battery lasts forever. They've been sitting behind my monitor here for a long long time, they're so terrible.
I know the problem isn't my phone because i plugged them into the computer's soundcard and had the same terrible --no wait-- devastating sound.
I give them a 2/10
Anyway, you want bluetooth headphones, go Motorola S9. That headset knows what the true meaning of true, clean, crisp bass/treble is. Plus, they're light weight.
Anyone want to buy my headphones (ht820)?
lol talk about a mixed bag, 2 for and 2 against.

Hi Evry1. I am after an average quality bluetooth stereo headset for my HD. I love music and like to listen to my favourite tracks on the go (on the way to office and uni everyday & sometimes at home from my lappy). Ideally I would love to have amazing quality sound output but can't really be bothered to wear those chunky headsets that offer the sound quality to my satisfaction, so I decided to go for an average quality bluetooth headset for everyday use.
After going through some reviews I'm thinkin of buyin a motorola s9. I know it has issues with the buttons but I don't go to gym and don't get time for even light exercise, hence I have nothing to worry about, on that part. But, unfortunately, I can't seem to find any UK based dealer where I can get it from. Ideally I would prefer a shop where I can take the thing back if anything bad happens.
I would also like your opinion on my choice and if there is any other headset that you might suggest.
Cheers...
Doesn't anybody has anything to say?!
ah, here's my 3 cents...
Firstly, the new model is S9 HD...I considered that and some others and finally bought the Plantronics V855. I didn't need very good stereo music, and so the 855 is okay for me. At best, the call sounds are great. I didn't like wires and the 855 had just one simple wire that links to the other ear, unlike those like the SE DS980 (great stereo music).
The S9 HD (to me!) looked very out of place (aka awkward, ugly) on a person when worn - at least that what's I gather from seeing 2 persons wearing them on the streets.
Additionally, some reviews pointed to poor call voice sounds (ie. soft).
...it's really your preference in the end.
I think I'm gonna go with the DS980 then...
Dint get a bluetooth headset at the end, instead got a seenheiser CX 400-II headset... Mind blowing quality. glad that i made that choice...
Hi, I want to buy new "Good" headphones for my touch HD, maximum 150~200$
I looked at:
Re2,ER6i,q-jays,NuForce NE7M
what IEM's better for touch HD ?
and what you have headphones ?
wow for that price you can get something like theese http://www.ultimateears.com/_ultimateears/products/metrofi/index.php
I personally have DENON AH-C351 in ear headphones for about 60$ (In Latvia)-- theyre really good, But our Touch HD can never use the full potential of them-- just try your headphones with Touch HD and the try them with your PC - youll notice the difference- especially with low frequencies!!
Good Luck on the earphone hunt!!
oh BTW for about 200$ you can ger bluetooth in ear headphones (saw nokia ones some time back)
Ue very good but too expensive for that quality.
I not only use with touch HD so i type 150-200$ for good IEM's
if i want use headphones only with touch HD, them max 50-100$
I hate wireless headphones (often load battery, and poor quality)
well- creative had some good headphones-- dont know which one of them though!!
and you can check brands like sony(they make good headphones)
just go to your local electronics shop and take the best heaphones from it!!
Klipsch custom one for me.

I'm using Sennheiser MM50, which is actually for iPhone 3G, black version earphones, but anyhow the 4C rings match of HTC Touch HD's 3.5mm jack so that you can use its mic and button to receive calls and the sound quality is really nice. I totally recommend it if you like tube (or whatever it is called) style earhphones...
I know this is a "little" over your budget but try to consider a pair of costum moulded in ear monitors like the livewires - http://www.mylivewires.com/ -
I have had mine for a couple of month and it is like somebody stole all my music and replaced it with better quality music. There is a world in difference. I used a set of SHURE in ear before (not chep either) and the difference is mind blowing.
You can replace the cords and keep the moulds so this is more like a long investment.
Worth every penny...

I'm using the Sennheiser CX-500. I really like them, except for the fact that they don't have a mic.
I got the AKG In-Ear headphones, they have a very good quality...
get JH13, UE11pro, Westone ES3x or ACS T1.
I bought Jays d-jays and they're absolutely stunning very good value for the money, the only downside is they could have a bit more bass.
I'm using the Sennheiser CX-400 II, I am more than happy with them.
If you are sound maniac and enjoy to listen music i can recomend you Sony MDR-EX90LP Stereo Earphones.
I use this with my Touch HD and the sound is crystal and cool
also befor they was expensive now you can find them cheeper and save some money
So is this the only in-Ear With mic that works with the Touch HD?

No.. shure se110 too have mic control. the mic can be detech so I can use with other earphones with 3.5mm jack.
spend that extra on quality..!
I've been DJing for years, and good headphones are a must. As far as inner ear headphones, sennheiser are pretty good price for the quality they are, I prefer the sport line, where the right or left hand side wire is longer so you can route behind neck and not be in the road at the gym. You can go crazy and spend the extra on the IE line eg. IE6,IE7,IE8. there all noise cancelling ones and are claimed by sennheiser to be good enough for studio monitoring, though you'll be paying extra for them. Just what ever you do, avoid buying them off ebay. Alot of, what appears to be really good sennheiser knockoffs, or factory seconds. I'm an avid ebayer and the set I bought you may as well chuck in the bin, the seller was in my country, Australia..., though he had chinese name when replyed via email.
I bought these from Ebay and I have to say for the money they are pretty darn good.
earbuds
I've been using UE's superfi 5pro's for the past 18 months or so - awesome sound/never experienced anything like this before - although a bit too sensitive - picks up background hiss between tracks that is lost when music starts - still awesome sound using tcpmp and SRS_WOW_HD 121 if you can get over this intertrack hiss.
Otherwise have been very impressed with my wife's sennheiser cx 300-II's - came a bit close to UE sound quality/bass - when you get them in your ear properly - and you can pick them up on amazon now for less than £20.
PS - fwiw - my UE's have been through a hot cycle in the washing machine with no apparent adverse effects after a thorough drying..... so they're quite robust
Amazing....!
Yeh, isn't it amazing. My sennheiser cx 400's had been through the washer and dryer twice and still kept the sound comin strong, the sound was a bit muddy for the first day or so, though were soon back to normal, I've had a few USB sticks that have done the same as well

10 points on a scale of 10.At work a loud machine is producing a monotonous noise, this is reduced to approx. 10 % of its original level by the active noise cancelling without music on,only insert the earbuds and switching on the phone kills 90 % of this noise. After you switch on the music you can barely hear the monotonous noise.Only one of many reasons to buy this fantastic device.

Noise cancelling works with supplied earbuds MDR-NC31EM,two microphones in the earbuds feed the noise cancelling software in the Z2,
I don't know if there are more headphones available working with this system, the 3.5 mm jack should have 5 instead of the standard 3 rings.
With my Sennheiser MM100 bluetooth on-ear headset the Z2 sounds great, only without the noise cancelling.
I've tested it on my office with AC and at home with centrifuge in the other room (washing machine).
Unfortunately, I can't say I'm impressed with the results. Need more testing tomorrow...

I'd give the active noise cancelling a 9 out of 10 when paired with the Sony MDR-NC31EM headphones. With the volume turned up to a normal level I can't hear myself typing on my keyboard, or doing the dishes, or my cat meowing for treats, or my wife talking, or pretty much anything other than my music unless I reeeally listen for it. The sound quality of the NC31EM isn't the best, but it's far from the worst. It's definitely better than any headphones that came with previous cell phones. Before I got my Z2 I refused to use noise cancelling because I thought it unnecessarily tampered with the sound quality and would only wear my Grado 325, Ultimate Ears TripleFi 10, or Shure SE530 headphones. The Z2 & NC31EM is a very good combo for most listening occasions.

I have QC15, which is similar to QC3. I haven't had a chance to test them side by side on a plane after purchasing of this phone.
However, in day-to-day life, z2 and QC15 produce similar results as far as I can tell. To be honest this is the only reason why I thought about buying Z2 and switching to android from an iPhone.
I first thought tgis thread is about the microphone noise cancelling when I call someone
For me both work just fine.
The headphones are small and cant perform like a bose but for those small earbuds I give them a 9 of 10.
They cant cancel (completely) the noise of train or a loud street but for music it works fine

Before release I read that one would have to buy the MDR-NC31EM (a fourth contact on the 3.5 mm jack for the second mic) as an extra, but I guess competitive pressure made them appear out of the box! <g>
Don´t know of any other special headset like that.
Think Sony spilled the marketing beans on this feature. Almost no reviews mentioned this unique feature, and when they did, then practically only in passing.
Anyone who has a commute on public transport should check out active noise cancelling headphones! I love ´em. Filter out ambient noise and loud people with idiotic conversations. <yippih!>

I´ve been owning the QC3 for almost two years and they are great.
I was a bit p*ssed when the cable developed a problem after a little more than half a year, but when I hit the right guy at the local Saturn / Mediamarkt here they swapped it without a tone. (The incompetent one before told me we´d need to return the whole gadget set and my answer was: "No, you will have to pry the QC3 from my cold, dead fingers. I rather buy a cable at whatever Bose price!" And you know that´s quite a statement! <rofl>)
For this summer I bought QC20i and was awed that the in-ears cancel out more than the on-ears!!!!! I only hope the cabling lasts longer than that of the IE2 I owned before!
So Sony lost out for now, but I may "need" another Android gadget soon. Who knows... <g>

Actually - as said above - the Bose QC20i in-ears cancel out a lot more than the QC3 on-ear ones with the passive dampening advantage. And the QC3 sound a bit murky while the QC20i got brilliant heights even WITH active noise cancelling -- which is said to hamper quality.
And they QC20i work w/o NC with a dead battery. Well, they oughta, cuz you can´t swap the battery. The teeny tiny spare battery for the QC20 was 50 bucks!
So the jury is out again who will be the next winner.
Guess the QC20 will earn their keep as double-duty ear warmers for winter.
The QC20i for the rest of the time for ALL mobile gadgets.
The Z2 waiting in the wings as a possible replacement for the iPhone. (Watch out, Apple!)
Or the next gen with Bluetooth AND active noise cancelling.
Having fun
G.
Problem is I don't get any noise cancellation. For example, now I hear crickets. Putting earphones in my ears and having phone detect and use NC, nothing has really changed. I've tried both NC modes (one with music sign and one without)... turned on youtube video, still nothing. The only benefit is from earphones actually being in my ears, but the same effect I get with regular $40 earbuds like QuadBeat 2.
I wish if I could somehow test if there is maybe a problem with my earbuds, but so far - effect is nonexistent.
I never owned any noise cancelling headphones before the Sony MDR-NC31EM so i can't compare.
They don't cancel out every small noise. So if i am home and there it is relatively quiet i don't notice much difference when enabling the noise cancellation on the z2.
However if the TV is running, driving by train etc. the difference is huge. It can still be heard but it is not annoying anymore when hearing music.
at work with some normal monotone cooling sound from PCs the noise is also nearly completely reduced.
I am not sure but i think the noise cancellation does not work very good for a higher pitch noise. So maybe your crickets do make a too high pitch.
Also one thing i once noticed was when the train door closed with a very loud bang i got a loud crack sound on my headphones which was not really great and really frightened me in that moment. I guess that was just too loud and suddenly to cancel out.
I would say for the price it is a definitive 10/10 if you own the Z2. But i am not sure if more expensive headphones can cancel more.
Using it with my notebook however does not work as it seems it cancels the played sound out again.

If you don´t immediately hear the difference on a plane or train or tram there is something wrong.
Crickets are not exactly the best example. Low frequency continuous street noise is it, not the single car.

TV is a still better use case than anything else. If I don´t want to be distracted by some series my girl friend watches I put on the Bose, turn on music and turn away from the TV -- and I got my island.
Guess it would take a lot more processing power to catch the higher frequencies and the higher I guess they are harder to match and cancel out.
Interestingly the in-ear QC20i dampen most, but I don´t think they dampen (much) more than what I heard from a very brief test with the Sonys.
What goes for the Bose QC20i is the above use case: Hook ´em up to anything / the notebook and cancel out the anything else / TV. You can´t do that with the Z2 buds.
But the QC20 are almost half the price of a Z2.

Thats not true.
At least here in Germany if i look up the QC20 they cost 279 € !!! compared to 38 € of the Sony headphones.
Ohh i see you meant the Z2 itself. Sorry. I was talking only about the headphones supported for the Z2. Of course the phone itself is more expensive.
So far I had no result with:
- air conditioner
- crickets
- street noise (typical city noise coming from the outside, I don't expect it to cancel police/ambulance, but noise certainly)
- friend's PC cooling (my PC is silent under 30dB)
- blue switch mechanical keyboard typing
- coffee shop
...
what else to test?

Are you sure you have the noise cancelling headphones with the Model-Name "MDR-NC31E" ?
Because there where headphones in my package. But they didn't supported noise cancellation and had a different model name.

I hope I don't look that dumb... :cyclops: - yes, of course, MDR-NC31E. Even the phone auto puts those in "noise cancelling headset" mode. There are two icons then (3). ON, ON with ♪ next to it and OFF.
Check this, not even this is reduced. Not a tiny bit. http://www.coffitivity.com/
Strange? Disappointing...
