This is based on the ERE27 ship update with a couple of tweaks, Cyanogen's Beta 4 is a complete ground up recompile.

Thank You.
thanks very much !! gonna try and cook this rom
Thank you
Will flash and report...
So basically, the the motivation for one to use this rom vs. Cyanogen's ROM comes down to user preference? Sorry if I sound stupid, I am very greatful for the work all the dev's do for the community, just wondering what benefits might be gained from using this ROM vs. Cyanogen's i.e. performance gains.
the rom is very fast buddy thanks .... but how can i disable se request ?
but I feel that Cyanogen's build has good in term of battery life.
anyone can confirm? I even using the ER27 still not good

READ ALL OF THIS POST AND THE ONE AFTER IT!
No, really, read it all. There's important information in here, honest!
Edit: Desire to Nexus One port status update - read
What is it?
As you all know, HTC have announced the 'HTC Desire', which is effectively HTC's version of the Nexus One. It shares a lot of the same hardware, but features cool stuff like HTC Sense and other cool apps (such as a camera app with face recognition, touch focus etc. etc.). The product is due to launch soon, which means ROMs have started to leak. This Alpha release is one such leak.
Alpha? That sounds scary?
Yeah, this isn't even Beta. There's a good chance you won't want to use this as your main ROM, but you might like to check out what's coming down the road.
So what works?
Almost everything - it's quicker to talk about what doesn't work. Aside from the FM radio, there appear to be no hardware incompatibilities that will cause a problem between the two devices. Even the noise cancelling microphone is functional in this ROM. The only problems with the ROM are related to the fact that HTC are yet to release the Desire kernel source, and there's a lot of changes in there. For the latest known issues status, please see the post below.
Tell me about partitions!
The Desire has a different partition layout to the Nexus One, which means some stuff had to be moved from /system to /data. No biggie, and with each Alpha release i'm optimising further to improve the situation. Be aware that this means you must wipe BEFORE installing the ROM and NOT AFTER, or it won't boot. A wipe is strongly recommended before trying this ROM - and remember to nandroid backup first!
What else are you working on for the ROM?
I have deliberately left this ROM un-odex'd, as I know other ROM developers will like to have a play with it (remember to credit your source guys!). Going forward, odex'ing the ROM makes a lot of sense to save space, although it's less of an issue now I have moved the dalvik-cache to the cache partition (as in cyanogen's ROM).
What kernel are you using? Any other tweaks worth knowing about?
The ROM has the usual MCR tweaks (tun.ko, openvpn, busybox, dropbear etc.) and is running a custom kernel by teknologist and myself based on the stock .33 source (check the changelog below for more details). Himem is enabled. The kernel runs at standard clock speeds, uniquely only using undervolt at the lowest clock speeds.
This is great - how can we say thanks?
Details on how to support my work should you wish to do so (any contributions are gratefully received) are available on the download page.
Alright, i've read enough, gimme the downloads!
One download, update zip format, apply via Amon_RA's excellent recovery image, remember to Nandroid backup first. You probably won't want to use this as your production ROM yet!
DOWNLOAD
These links use referrer checking to prevent bandwidth theft - if you get redirected to the MoDaCo homepage, try 'right click save as', another browser, or disabling noscript / ad blocking
One more thing?
To finish i'd like to say 'enjoy playing with the ROM', thanks for your support and here's looking forward to the final Desire release (after a few more Betas) on our beloved Nexus Ones!

FM Radio finds stations but does not produce any sound

Now includes Teknologist's TCK 0.6. This is based on the official .33 repositories, with only minor tweaks. The ROM is undervolted for the base/stock 245MHz frequency and tweaks the capacitive buttons slightly (thanks kmobs), it uses the CFS I/O scheduler.

Configuration changes made to try and resolve problem with some missing applications from the market. Please provide feedback.
Updated Titanium Backup, WaveSecure and Wired Tether applications.

Alpha 7
Fixed issue with ringtones list
Alpha 6
Changes to try and resolve random reboots
Alpha 5
Fixed white screen on boot, wifi and update-script issues
Fixed graphical glitching
Alpha 1-4
Disastrous
Did a full wipe and flashed Alpha 5.
First boot took 2 minutes 40 seconds from cold boot. Subsequent boots took 20-30 seconds.
Rom seems pretty fast although I do see some (minor) slowness coming from CyanogenMod.
HTC setup is working. Including adding wifi and setting up your Google, Facebook, Flickr, and Twitter accounts.
Camera is working at the reported 3mp resolution and facial recognition also works.
Flash works but as others have reported it is slow and Hulu.com still doesn't work so your dreams of Hulu on the go are going to have to wait.
The included gallery app is definitely not as eye candy rich as Google's but it is usable.
As we all know the HTC IME is far better then the stock keyboard.
As stated FM doesn't work but it seems to be trying. It will scan and pick up local stations it just can't seem to produce audio from them.
The proximity and light sensors actually seem to be working better then Stock/CM builds.
USB-MS does not appear to be working. In settings there is a "Connect to PC" option that is set to "Charge Only" with additional options of HTC Sync, Disk Drive, and Internet Sharing. Switching to Disk Drive and trying both ask me and automatic I was not able to have it show as a mounted drive.
With the exception of the USB-MS issue this rom seems very good considering it's alpha state and I can see alot of poeple using this as their daily driver. I did not experience any graphical glitches like in the previous alphas. All in all this is in far better shape already then any Sense port to the G1.
Keep up the good work Paul.
@Paul, I've installed it but something weird happened. I was stuck at the HTC bootscreen and then after a while my "old" wallpaper showed from my CM rom install I did a wipe and everything so no idea what happened.
Trying to reflash as of now
EDIT: works brill! thanks!
Great work! and thankyou v much!

Hmmm, not finding any devices either here I don't think. I am 95% sure I know what the problem is if this is the case, so I can probably fix for next alpha.
P
Fantastic work, paul! Thanks much, and I'll be dropping by to buy kitchen access!
Notes:
1) My SD card isn't loaded upon boot. I'm an android n00b, but I've noticed that android really doesn't like to run without an SD card, and indeed, I got a couple of spontaneous reboots. This last time, I hit the notification area instantly and pressed the SD card notification, it loaded the card, and I haven't had a reboot since (yet).
2) I've had apps tell me to insert SD card, even though the notification is gone, and things seem to be working well. More details as situation develops.
(sd card is SanDisk 8G Class 2, installed this ROM after a wipe, previous ROM CyanogenMod 5.0.3)
UPDATE: yeah, Titanium Backup is not seeing my SD card at all. Trying to mount it via adb shell, not really sure what the device name is! If anyone knows, chime in! Otherwise, let's learn together!
sorry for the annoyance...and bluetooth? about to become adfree member fo sho
u answered it at modaco, thanks. look forward to alpha 6!
SDcard seems to be OK here?
P
[removed by Paul]
Just had a reboot on startup. If anyone can grab a logcat at reboot time, that might give us a clue as to what's happening.
P
any news on sync? none of the syncs seem to be working atm for me.
thanks
just flash it , seem too good to be alpha
i'll play around with it for a while and will get back
## confirm about reboot issue , but i had it when testing a keyboard .. type word SIMPLE or something .. then N1 reboot all of sudden ##
reboots galore
When I try to sign in to facebook. when i try to connect to wifi.
Speed is fantastic and my internet is way faster then the stock rom.
Ok when i try to access the downloads section in the android market i get reboots.
I've adb-logcatted and there's nothing immediately obviously, i'm going to use my device and try and establish a pattern of behaviour to the reboots.

Due to limits on my time and the fact that I have a large number of devices for short periods of time, it isn't possible for me to continue providing ROM updates indefinitely. Finally the master is here! It's been a long wait, but I'm sure it's worth it
One thing, if it isn't added already.. Is it possible to add Norwegian support for Swype?
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA Premium App
I'll check what languages are in there from stock...? If Norwegian isn't there I might be able to merge it in from another source...

Starting to cooking..
As a previous customer, I wouldn't recommend donating. I did so when you brought out your custom kitchen for the Desire and at a time when it was still easily the best phone on the market, you chose to dump it and devote all your time to the ZTE Blade.
I'm sure you have to develop for multiple devices to maximise your profit, but doing so as widely as you did sacrificed quality and led to a multitude of frustrated members which you then attempted to pacify by promising updated releases which never materialised.
Hopefully this problem won't repeat itself here, but buyer beware nonetheless.

No, prebake is online for anyone to download and additional prebakes are coming...

Nice to see Paul and team Modaco here....
respect...
I've just added 'Odex Me' to the kitchen, you can also download it as an APK here - DOWNLOAD - if downloading manually you must push it to /system/app.
Running this application (from the launcher) will reboot your device and on startup odex your /system/app directory. This will save you valuable space in /data/dalvik-cache... but remember you can't make changes to /system/framework without reflashing after you've done this. Be aware that the odexing takes a little while and should NOT be interrupted, so when the app reboots your phone, be patient.
This is currently in Beta testing, use at your own risk, backup first etc. etc., reflash ROM if you encounter any issues.
Let me know how you get one!
P
PS You can tell if it's worked it's magic because you'll have a bunch of .odex files in /system/app
PPS This SHOULD work on any ROM with init.d support, but obviously that is untested.

Just to reiterate from the first post because I don't want to upset anyone...
Future Updates - READ THIS!
By providing this ROM I am not implying in any way that future updates will follow. Due to limits on my time and the fact that I have a large number of devices for short periods of time, it isn't possible for me to continue providing ROM updates indefinitely. Please do not donate / sign up on the assumption that future releases will be available (I don't want you to be disappointed!).

There is a donate link in my signature which goes direct to Cancer Research UK and is the donate option if you don't wish to sign up for a MoDaCo subscription.
100% of these donations go to direct to charity.
If you have ANY questions, feel free to PM me (preferably via MoDaCo) - let's keep this topic about the ROM...

How to do logcat (Windows, the easy way)
1. Make sure you have HTC drivers installed on your computer. Hint...it helps to have your phone plugged into the computer when installing.
2. Download ADB and fastboot.
3. Extract them. Add the folder path to where you extracted them to the windows command line. OR, you can just open a command window (shift+right click) in the same folder as ADB and run the command there. If you need help adding them to the folder path, follow this guide.
4. Now we need to have a command window. In the ADB folder, or in any folder of your choosing if you added ADB to the system path, press shift+right click on an empty spot in the folder. This will open a context menu where you can pick "open command window here". Do that.
5. Connect your phone to your computer using a USB cable if you hadn't already.
If you did everything right, you should be able to type "adb devices" and see something like the following:
List of devices attached
HTXXXXXXXXXX device
If you don't see that, then you may need to check your drivers, check that developer mode is enabled in settings>developer options> and that "USB Debugging" is enabled, and that you're able to access ADB from command line.
6. Now...what all this work is for...type the following and press enter:
Code:
adb logcat > logfile.txt
7. Wait a few seconds, then press ctrl+c. Upload logfile.txt to the forum hurr and I can take a look-see.
Notes:
A logcat is a full record of prettymuch everything your phone does from boot to shutdown. It does not reveal any personal information, just the details of what apps did what to whom.
The value of "logfile.txt" in the command used is whatever you want it to be. It could be shoeface.txt or doghouse.txt or EltonJohn.log...it's just a name. In windows, it's nice to designate a standard plain-text extension just so you don't have to constantly pick which app to open the file with.
Adb is very powerful. You can use it to push and pull files from the phone with almost the same capacity as a Recovery program, you can install programs, and use adb shell to access the phone as if you were working directly from it in a terminal program. I highly recommend learning how to use it fully, because it's an awesome tool to have.
Debug should be enabled by default, but if it's not, you can enable it under "developer options" in settings.
Hell yes! Downloading!
Awww yeaaaah! More awesomeness!
Will give this a try later. Sounds like a dope rom though.

We are currently reviewing some things with this rom and trying to resolve them with digitalhigh
Thread reopened and I would like to thank digital high for being very cooperative with the mod staff. Enjoy your new rom.
love the effort, but i noticed that there are problems mounting the SD to browse files as a HD on my comp. There is no way i can see to get it to mount. I can mount the sd via usb on 4ext and other roms

What version was that? Can anybody else try SD stuff and let me know? I keep my Google pass on my SD Card, so I usually require it when I do an install.

it was the MIUI_2.12.28_SHOOTER_JB_DH.zip version. Also, for some reason the goo.im updater says that there is an update too and it is the same file available for download. I will try reinstalling and wiping again
edit: so i did a full wipe and the problem is there; no toggle available for usb and 'ask on connection' under storage settigns is not working.
Also, the goo.im updater is still saying there is an update with the same file name (as your link) as the update
I'll look into why the button to switch on hd mount isn't showing up. That's happening to me this release as well. What's weird is that I think it did show up a few times for me. Off the top of my head it looks like I may have forgotten to take out this weird property that xiaomi puts in the storage config xml. I should be able to take care of that quick.
Pacman for the 3vo CDMA
Is it me or is the camera app missing? Nice rom btw

Changes made to source:

Mpdecision
Governors
IO schedulers
Things to come:

you tell me
SHARING POLICY:
if you compile it you can haz it
my reason for this is that i dont own this device and dont want to maintain yet another kernel thread for a phone i dont own
How to compile it you ask??
Compiling my source:
There are some requirements
You must be building in a 64bit Linux environment i find ubuntu easiest to work on
you can run native or virtualize it
Since I use ubuntu ill go ahead and list steps used to build with that
first things first you need to get into a terminal window and run
Code:
sudo apt-get udpate && sudo apt-get upgrade -y
sudo apt-get install cmake make automake ia32-libs
Then download
http://releases.linaro.org/12.12/co...12.12-2-2012-12-12_14-52-41-linux-x86.tar.bz2
untar and place in your home directory you should rename the folder to:
android-toolchain-eabi
following that you will want a copy of the source.
Code:
git clone git://github.com/Team-Blackout/Beastmode_plus_edition_evitare.git
Part A. Pre-build Steps
A. Open terminal and change to the root of your kernel directory
Code:
cd Beastmode_plus_edition_evitare
Type "export ARCH=arm"
Type "export CROSS_COMPILE=~/android-toolchain-eabi/bin/arm-eabi-"
Type "make beastmode_defconfig"
Type "make -j2"
Sit back wait and profit your final product will exist in /arch/arm/boot/zImage
you can use the DSI kitchen to pack unpack your image etc
So is it really optional to flash boot.img separately or should I do it for sure? I'm coming from maXimusATT rom. The optional part just threw me off. Ahaha, I rather it say do it for sure.

we say optional because it isn't needed to use the ROM but (and its a big one) if you want full adb support, init.d support and full insecure it is recommended that you flash it. hopefully once we get s-off we will be able to incorporate boot.img and kernel into the rom zip proper.

Unfortunately the USA HOX+ and the International HOX+ are different but in the same thread you seem to be from the US so I take it this is a AT&T rom? If not please correct me if I'm wrong and post what RUU in the O.P. so people dont get confused and brick. thx it looks pretty clean I'm looking forward to trying it out if at all possible.

I am not including the hboot and I do not recomend you update it as of yet either as it will prevent you from reverting to previous ROM versions.
Out of alpha and into Beta, xposed installer and sense5 toolbox included in mods install in aroma. Please do not ask for RUU downloads and don't ask for updates it is likely this will not have any major changes until the RUU is made public. I will keep you posted as progress continues.
Supports xPosed Framework Check it out HERE
I recommend installing the Sense5 Toolbox module as it provides the most comprehensive set of tweaks available

Google Services Framework Fix (step by step instructions)This will fix Play Store issuesMAKE A NAND BACKUP OF YOUR NON WORKING ROM
Code:
STEP 1: Restore a working backup (one you know play store worked on)
STEP 2: Download a windows android file browser (I recommend Android Comander)
STEP 3: Connect your device to your PC, Open the android file browser
STEP 4: Browse to /data/data and locate "com.google.android.gsf"
STEP 5: Copy the folder from STEP 4 to your sdcard (remember this location)
STEP 6: Restore your non working ROM from in recovery, Reboot
STEP 7: using a root explorer (or the windows android browser) locate the folder from STEP 5
STEP 8: Copy the folder from STEP 5 into /data/data make sure you choose to overwrite the folder and files
STEP 9: Reboot (You must reboot first, do not immediately try to open play store)
STEP 10: Once rebooted test Play Store, Google Plus and Hangouts all should work fine.
I realize this seems like a daunting task just to fix the Play Store,
but there is no easier way at this point to accomplish this the Google account MUST exist before restoring this folder
in order for the fix to work.

Everything appears to be working great, though I am still on the new Hboot, so it's more likely to work fine. :silly: I'm running it with the stock kernel, but what are the benefits of an unsecured boot.img?

Insecure boot image lets you use adb remount, and adb push or adb pull etc. to /system and its contents.
also the included boot image has init.d support, sdcard performance tweaks and evitareul_common tweaks. so you will get better performance when streaming large video files or playing music from your /data/media folder
great but 1 bug
Flashed the rom and everything is working, except Google search. Every time I use voice search I get Google search has stopped. Super smooth though. Great work.
