I have version 3.5 (using this customization: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=604146) at the moment and can say I have never used the 'carousel'.
SPB have been ignoring all the great ideas for widgets on their forum, a call for SPB Diary and Phone Suite to be made compatible for WM6.5 to concentrate on creating this?!
Oh well, down they go in a lot of people's opinions.

SPB MS 5 Release Date
Anyone confirm when SPB MS 5 will be released? I've heard Q2 or Q3 this year. Wanted to give it a try to see if it's worth the hype.
Why do you see Mobile Shell 5 as such a big deal? Except that 3d good looking carousel which is just for effect it doesn't seem to bring other significant upgrades... and I must say that the carousel is almost useless ( I rarely used it in the 3.5 version).
i bet it there won't be a significant change as the previous version.
There's no news of being available yet. Not even beta.
I have to say I'm rather happy with 3.5, it uses less memory than TF3D did too.
I even use the carousel.
I find it a slightly better interface than TF3D, but having said that TF3D was the best interface I'd used up until I tried SPB shell, and if I'd had a non-TF3D phone I'd have tried SPB shell much sooner!.

anyone have a release date for MS 5 yet?
i used a trial of 3.5 on my touch pro2 and really liked the quick and easy access to everything. iv tried other free 'shells' and 'launchers' or whatever you wanna call them but there is always something wrong. even ms 3.5 didnt work quite right in landscape mode (it scattered all the widgets around to random spots) hopefully this will be fixed in version 5.

It's not out yet. Later this year. As for the scattering of the widgets in landscape - if you arrange them again while in landscape mode they will stay put. In other words you have to set an arrangement for both. Hope this helps

ahh thats kinda lame, i wish they would put somethin on their website. and yea that makes sense as far as organizing the widgets, i had to do that for another program
How does SPB Shell work guys - if you load it onto your windows device, does it delete all settings (just like flashing a new ROM)? I use sprite to backup which works well when going from one ROM to a similar one ie NRGZ ROM's but i want to know if trying out an SPB Shell will require me to load all settings again...

I've got TMI (too much information) on these pages. I love updating my phone but now I can't figure out what my next option or options are. I have the Sprint Mogul with Mobile 6 professional (CE OS 5.2.1622) and I installed the new ROM - 3.16.651.0 with radio 3.27.00.
I'm interested in going to the next level but what is that? Also, I want only stuff that is pretty stable - does not have to be perfect but I don't want to loose main functionality.

Check out DCD 2.2.xx ROMS in this forum, I use and love them. I have been using ROMs from here for a long time, on my Axim and Elf, now on my Titan. Got to love the build quality and additional options they give you.
I recommend a DCD ROM as well. Wait for his next release (next after 2.2.3) as there is a bug that should be fixed very soon. You won't be dissapointed.

you want basic....stable....not many progs....go with dcd
you want basic....stable....some decent progs...go with nexvision
you want a little more advanced....alot of progs....go with colonel custom rom from ppcgeeks.com
all are good...i use colonels currently...after a little modifying and setting up on your behalf it will probably be the best rom to use until we get a kitchen and create our own personal roms...
the other two are cool...but they have the same low memory as a phone with many programs....and some core things that I like were taken out that jus made the phone...well....boring....
so its up to you...and what YOU like.

yes all you have to do is get the homeplug cab that was taken from the touch. i also would recommend the htc touch dialer so you keypad is easier to do. Just search for them. they should be on this site

once you get the htc home to your main screen you should be able to just click on the sun icon and have an option to update your city

I have used both dcd's and No2Chem's most recent roms and found them both to be great. Those guys are amazing!
Currently I have NexVision's Hybrid on my mogul...based on a dcd2.x.x rom (think it's 2.2.6 but not sure) and loaded with other useful apps, it's one of the better "dressed up" rom's I have found in my short time.
Big Ups to all those guys for sharing and helping the rest of us to learn!!

Ditto here.. Altho some of the others sound interesting.. The biggest problem with upgrading the ROM is you have to reload all the programs you want right? or hopefully I am wrong...

I recently upgraded from DCD 2.2.1 to no2chems' 2.0 (basically for the extended ROM access). What a great ROM, I highly recommend it.
Being able to access and use the 9MB+ of the Ext ROM is a huge plus. There is also a thread at PPCGEEKS (when their web site works) that explains how to automate the loading of your favorite programs from EXT ROM when you flash your phone.
Freaking awesome.

I just checked out the palm pre at a sprint store, and it has some cool features. I was just wondering if anyone plans on creating a ROM with some of the features. I think the interface to switch between pages by pushing the center button is cool.

They are built on different platforms aren't they? Plam and WinMo are not compatible.
I work for sprint n we got in depth training on the Pre prior to it's release. To be quite honest, I'm not really feeling it. I feel that most WinMo 6.5 Roms actually produce similar if not enhanced results. The only thing that I can really say that I liked was the way that the GUI displays minimized windows and the closing feature. Aside from that, I don't see it as being anything more than a stab at the Iphone, and it's using a plastic knife for the first cut.

Short of someone feeling the need to port the application(s), you will probably not see this any time soon. Besides, the OS is completely different, you cannot just cook the apps in the WM roms (or install them for that matter). It would be pretty much like trying to install some of the iPhone's apps in a Touch pro...

i'm updating rom's on my touch pro, and i'm really surprised by the new sense 2.5 it's true that i choose it for the new hometab and the beauty mix of clock&wheater, but that sucks really, new htc messaging don't work, take more than 5sec to syncronise with inbox in sms& mails. most of the apps freeze, nothing is stable, so i'll come back to the tael rom without the "new" rom of sense 2.5!! i think that sense should me more stable and more faster. that's the worst rom i've seen and i ve tested the energy and tael rom.
am I alone to find that sense 2.5 sucks?

i think before u start complaining is to try other ROMs that run 2.5 AFIAK even though u tried an EnergyROM try the LATEST EnergyROM it has a very stable and fast Sense 2.5 built in IMHO
and for your issues with SMS messaging recommend to search for Zenyee's disable htc messaging app
and it seems ur stability issues can lead to a bad flash OR you installed something to slow down ur phone, reflash and run the ROM without installing any apps, install ONE app at a time and check to see which one leads to ur crashes
install NeoS2007 graphics drivers, search for it and ull notice a significant difference in stability and smoothness
and if you honestly think that those are the worst ROMs why dont you go ahead and try to make your own??
the community is here for development and the love of designing things. if you don't like something, don't use it.

If you have a clock + weather on the home page and if you have a twitter tab in ur slider then its SENSE2.5=manila2.5=TF3D 2.5.
If you have just the clock on the main page then it is TF3D2.1=Manila2.1

i think the worst part about sense is that there is no Programs tab anymore and you can only put 6 shortcuts to the Home screen. The concept itself is good but 6 shortcuts is not enough...at least for me. i also had some performance issues when it wasn't perfectly smooth on Touch Pro. Pry because it wasn't designed for it.
other than that i liked it, and i wanna say thanks to all chefs here for doing this tremendous job!

Azik. Google up Max Ultimate... allows up to 20 shortcuts. Personally, it's the only way I was able to use 2.5.
I think the original poster was just stating his opinion that he didn't like Sense 2.5. But you guys are acting like Apple Fanboys going ballistic and coming out so rude...

As much as this forum is to praise people's work, we can't be doing ONLY that all the time. sometimes the work sucks and needs to be said that way.
I don't think its chef's fault or anything and I appreciate the time each chef puts in. But these days the forum is full of latest cutting edge software THAT SIMPLY DOES NOT WORK WELL with tweaking, fixing bugs, do this and do that,etc...
I have gone back to older stable ROMs. I have the luxury of trying out these things because of the hard and good work of the chefs, the forum and the user community. Thank you all.

Anyone know if this graphics fix speeds up Sense and SMS? Tried NRG's ROM with Sense, loved it, but a little too slow on my FUZE. Switched back to NRG's Touch Flo 2.1 ROM.
You guys who are complaining about 2.5 do realise that its not actually intended to work on the Touch Pro don't you? The version that we are luckily able to run has been ported over from different phones (leo iirc?) which has more power available to it, and a different resolution, amongst many other differences.
So we are not able to run an official HTC final-polished-ready-to-go version of it, and we NEVER will..we get a hacked together port put together by some very talented people on these boards.
So you can justifyably say that current implementations of it has bugs, is unstable, has missing/overlapping icons/graphics or speed issues..but these are not HTC Sense issues.
Personally I really like it but don't run it day to day because of a few issues with the new messenging client when you have more than a few text messages (takes forever to load!), BUT I like sense itself..the questions of if its stable or not, and if its a good bit of software are completely different, and its not fair on HTC or the guys on this board to mix them up..

I second this. Also to the first poster, you can try a hard reset or re flash a new rom. I have had some issues with 2.5 myself and lately the new 2.5 roms seem much faster and stable. The chefs put a lot of work into making a rom, so I can see why they get upset,but on the same note its nice to vent about things when something is not working. When I had problems with 2.5 I decided to stick with 2.1 until recently , and now I really like 2.5. I am going to flash a 2.1 probably later today and see which I like best, but I am willing to bet its the 2.5 roms. 2.5+MaxManila=Bliss

Yes it speeds up the whole Manile working all together the the GFx Boost or NEO GFx.

I guess this is faster on HD2, Anyways on Omnia 2, this is still kind of slow and I think the speed between the beta and alpha were just the same, There are still lots of refining should be done. Haven't explored it yet though.

Wow this is a great start ment/today screen replacement. Really snappy and well thought out. The threaded SMS view and what not is so fluid as well, I love it. Is there any way to remove the test popup that keeps coming up? It is starting to get on my nerves....

played with this some this morning on my hd2 and it is a very interesting UI. I love the side scrolling between folders, etc. The twitter app is well thought out. I can see why this has taken so long.
I'm wondering though if he'll have a finished product before spb MS 5.0 gets released.

Its the best Sense UI rom for the TG01 period, very fast and smooth graphics for the sense interface, the UPX speeds up so many apps it makes it just a very nice rom to use every day, better than any other sense ui rom on the TG01 anyway.
Miro's finest masterpiece if you ask me.

yes, and for this I am very grateful, my friend I use also miROM8 cfc + cht2.0 + ManilaDailer and it is really a beautiful and fast Sense UI!
yeaa i totally agree i also use cht 2.0 it is by far the best sense rom for the tg01 without a doubt. miro has done a great job. i would like to hear peoples reviews on other roms on this thread aswell as we all know tg01 is dead as far as rom developement, so lets see on this thread as to the best roms people have found and like

yes, and for this I am very grateful, my friend I use also miROM8 cfc + cht2.0 + ManilaDailer and it is really a beautiful and fast Sense UI!

Now that I have downloaded your ROM I will try it
For now I have Feroponts Rom ( when I flash the TG01, your links where dead).
working fine, no GPS problem.
The only "-" I installed the 3 SRS cabs , and can not understand why the TG01 sometimes select "headphones", who put the sound very low.
I must confess, I don´t like spb shell, never try "Sense", but for what I read, the miROM8 change the opinion de very users like my self....

you are wellcome! Toshiba tg01 has one of the best selection of cooked ROMs here on XDA! ...i mean, miROM8 cfc beta has SRS installed (look in the settings)

Mirolg, it´s possible to try "sense" without flashing a new ROM?
It´s possible with a cab?
((sorry the noob question!?) I came from a device with only 30 mb of ram for the user...)
I really don´t have the time not to flash, but to customize all softs... that I need to work.

in principle yes- but is very bad speed (60% slower) and the most sense ui cab`s has toooo much bugs. this was my reason to cook a SENSE ROM. here miROM8 sense 2021 cfc VIDEO on youtube and a second from user megakomandant
here you find a sense 2019 cab (but i do not recommend it)

it´s no bother, bro ! - but twitter tab has a bug, sorry. i do not have a twitter or facebook account and i have it never tested. and user feedbacks over twitter i have not get. you know , my whole software .... now has someone else ...

Hi guys
myself I'm on Feropont's WM6.5... it was the last ROM I flashed back in May/June. Want to try other ROMs, but unfortunately can't find my TG01 SD Card which has all my ROMs and cabs
So if i flash a new ROM, i won't have any software
As soon as I find my SD card, I will upload the ROMs on it!
I think off the top of my head I can remember I have miROM14 and a few others.... Hopefully i didn't format the SD card when I changed phone, I can't quite remember! :S

I TESTED A LOT OF ROMS AND THATS THE BEST.
Even if you install SPB on top its still fast and reliable.

Well the mirrom8 ofc i find sense very finger friendly, and like it bad news is that i must sell tg01 or it will lost totall value, anyway it was nice hanging around here

Well i think i will give sgs2 to my brother since he have some Nokia 5130 Xpressmusic and that is very old phone. Plans are to get either iphone or some WP7, well if i collect some money maybe some of HTC phones with Dr.Dree beat earphones since i am BIG music junkie. I bought a car recently so i don't have much money now and i made it to second year of my studies, a lot of money was spend

I'm using his Rom fxdjROM2_0_update3_radio1600_buildxip21840_VER1.zip since May (already half an year , wow...) and , in addition to my new Mugen_double_battery, makes me feel very happy and without urgency to find another device (Motorola Atrix 2.... Sansung Galaxy Note....)
All works smooth and fast with this ROM. No resets, no hangs, and with the exclusive addition of a sophisticated new battery control (even with near zero level alarm) that exploits the battery use to the max.
The main reason is that I don't like SENSE, and on this ROM the SPB shell works very well.
Fxd forever !!

Dr Dre is a con man! I got the software working on my Desire S. It's good but no big deal!
You don't need to buy a phone with it, you can buy an old phone (Desire HD etc) and use custom ROMs with the feature! It's cheaper

Ha ha !! You are a clever boy! not, not yet but it's true that i'm close following the new Samsung Galaxy Note.
And yes, of course, it has full USB host... and HD TV out, and the biggest high resolution screen never seen on a hand device.... and a working stylus!! To avoid off topic, if interested I can share very nice information in another thread....
