Hi there,
I recently bought the TD2 and hoped to be able to use my beloved Nokia BH-215 bluetooth headset with it. However, the sound quality is poor and it keeps getting disconnected. HTC informed me that it is incompatible with my phone.
Is there any way I can make it work with my TD2? Could a cooked ROM help? (I'm still using the stock ROM). Or can anyone recommend another compatible "clip"-type headset that works?
Many thanks!
Nat
my gf uses the nokia bh-214. the quality seems great and all and although she uses it on her old fashioned nokia, i have paired it with my HTC (using dutty's newer ROMs) and it worked fine (volume controls were laggy, but that's about it)
i personally use the SE HBH-DS980. see this post for my review: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=629787
i think 3rd or 4th post.

Thank you, Drag-On. I will check it out.

I have the Plantronics 510 paired with my TyTN and my CU500 at the same time and it works VERY well together and everyone can hear me just fine (except for the windy times). I am on my 3rd BT Headset and and decided to go back to my 510.
I also have a Stero BT Headset that works very well for stereo on both phones (but not at the same time, dangit).
just a thought.
Thanks
Thanks for your concern . really appreciate it.
Just to resurrect this thread from back in the day, has anyone seen THIS??
Im wanting a wireless bluetooth A2DSP thing with the AVRCP buttons on it. Also I want to be able to use my own earphones and this looks the ticket!
Has anyone used this or something similar on the Hermes yet?? And if so does the A2DP fix work?!?!
I've tried a number of headsets on the Hermes, including the 320s.
In terms of connection and stability the HTC is by a far distance the most stable. The 320s did not have a good connection when I tried it.
Unfortunatly all headsets had lots of hissing when used with WM6. I did not try all of them with WM5, but the results seems to be much better.
Some people have good results using reg. hacks or the Widcomm stack. For me that doesn't work.
The AVRCP buttons worked fine on all headsets I've tried (with the media player. Not all players support AVRCP).
All in all the quality of all headsets is much worse than the supplied wired headset. Still the headset makes sense to me, but not for high quality listening.

Gutted!!
Im thinking is there a way i can test A2DP using my PC as the headset?! Il get back to you if i find a solution.
mrvanx: I am currently using my Jabra BT620s (http://www.mobilefun.co.uk/product/9783.htm) with all AVRCP functions working properly on my Orange SPV M3100 loaded with Black's latest WM6 ROM.
Jabra BT8010 has a great sound and is very flexible...
I would recommend it
BT 320 has software upgrade from Jabra website. Also, it has a very good function - to collect other music player using a wire at the same time collect to your phone using BT. This can perfect solve the music sound quality problem about your PDA.

You mean the BT230 can be connected to a different MP3 player using a cable too? (rather than Bluetooth)
Yes, the model number is BT 325s, check this out. But I cannot find any in HK
Mrvanx
I got a BT320s for my super.fi 5 Pro. The sound is excellent.
Volume adjustment is good
I got the latest FW from the Jabra Singapore site (no way to know what version is on the device and what version is on the upgrade)...
The US site shows it as coming soon???
When getting a call while listening thru A2DP you can take the call but then the phone hangs and need to be reset.
The BT8010 works better from this stand point (not much but at least no need to reset the XDA)
One of the main issue with BT320s is that it switch on by itself easily through a slight push on the central button... and the call management...
This may be due to my WM6 ROM (4/23 from LVSW)...
So,
HTC Athena = Advantage = X7500/X7501, right?
Assuming so, i read here that the X7501 has lost the front camera, does this mean that there's no video calls on it? Is there video calls in WM6 at all? If i buy a X7500, then upgrade to WM6, will i be able to video call?
And, if a store announces selling a "HTC Advantage", how can i tell if it's a x7500 or x7501? should they know if i call them?
Oh, and can this "phone" be used without a handsfree or is it too much of a brick (I have an Universal today, and it's OK for me without handsfree)
Thanks in advance,
Michael
Yes
X7501 doesn't have the webcam, (the camera on the same side as the screen)
See above.
Yes, it can, but it will be more like a speakerphone and all around you will hear the convo.

I agree but would add - the 7501 is mainly in the US market.
As to using this as a phone held to your head - this unit is much bigger than a Uni (my previous phone was a Uni). My personal epxerience is that I was happy to hold the Uni to my ear. The Advantage is just too big to do so mpore than only occasionally. Use an earpiece.
My experience is that Bluetooth also works better with the Athena than any other phone I've used. Even my Universal. ;-)
I second that Itxda
Using the Athena without a head set is annoying to me. It is much more akward than the Uni. I agree with Itxda that the BT is better with the Athena. I use the LG Style-I for day time, Kenwood KCA-BT100 on the Nav unit in my daily driver and the Jawbone when I feel like it. All work very well with Athena.

I also have the Jawbone (for daily use) and the LG Style-I and Jabra500 as a backup, in case I drain the battery on my Jawbone. Has only happened to me once.

The X7501 doesn't have a VC camera since it is intended for the US market only, where the GSM carriers (or any other for that matter) have yet to implement the IMS needed for VideoCalling.
The closest we have is AT&T Video Share Calling, which is a cheap copy- its onle way calling, and it isn't compatible with the VC cameras on Euro 3G phones, AFAIK/have tested.
Thanks so much for all the replies, very insightful. Gonna make sure i buy a bt handsfree with it, preferrably with number display.
Is there any way possible (with any BT device) to display contact name instead of number?
Any recommendations on BT handsfree with big/long number/text display?

BlueAnt V12 has LCD display but numbers only. Good range, great price.
Jabra BT8010 will display names... with a little work. Good range, expensive.
Note that both have a "vibrate" feature which I find very helpful since the phone doesn't have this feature.
Good luck!
I have tested the Jetware bluetooth extension http://www.jetwaremobile.com/index.htm here.
I've installed, (30 days trial version) configured, even removed.
Now I have a good BT A2DP audio, better battery life, many problems solved also WITHOUT the SW installed
Worth a try IMHO ....
sergiopi, are you using smartwatch? if it is positive, does it work?
thanks.
No, I don't. I've tested with some motorola BT hands free, headphones and Sony Ericsson HBH-DS980 Bluetooth Stereo Headphones.
Hello all,
I have no no trouble with the Michy 6.1 ROM and bluetooth so far, streaming to my Moto S9's connecting to other devices etc
I must have missed all the trouble somehow.....I cannot imagine u are running a stock rom.
I am very interested in the Sony Bluetooth watch and I have been looking at getting one, I thought that the this was running properly with the software on this forum.....I might have to have another looksee..
I am running michy 6.1 and have no issues when using moto s9.......I just cant seem to get ringer id over any other Bluetooth....have tried Moto H12, plantronics 925, jabra 8040 and another older moto similar to H12 but can't remember the model. I kept the H12 but no ringer id over bluetooth.
just my 2 cents....
Someone recommends a Bluetooth headset that has been tested on the hero and it works. Today I tried one of my brother who works regularly on the htc hd but my hero does not recognize his own. Unfortunately I can not remember what brand it was. Thank you.
Hello =)
I'm using my Hero with the Jabra BT3030 Dogtag-Bluetooth headset, works like a charm try these Creative EP 635 In-Ear Headphones with it -> Awesome Sound!!! *.*
Regards,
Felix Karle
I'm using the Sony DR-BT100CX and have had no problems as of yet
Hi !
I have a Jabra BT620S, and a lot of problem with.
I've tested it on SE W595, and it works very well.
Yesterday I tried a Motorola S9 a few minutes, and it seems working well.
I wish the next firmware update will correct this bug.
Does anyone knows a way to use the BT620S on the Hero (custom firmware) ?
Thanks.
toaliosis,DeKarle1992,
what firmware you use?
I am under :
modaco 3.1
63.18.55.06EU_6.35.06.18
I tested two brand Bluetooth headset NOKIA...
I have the Plantronics Voyager 510 (awesome device, btw), and that one works flawlessly together with the Hero (Stock Rom)
I'm using Motorola HS810, works no problem (Stock, modaco 3.1, villian all good). It's an old one but it does the job well.

Same here, the Jabra 620s works as a normal headset but the stereo doesn't work - says in the manual that stereo bluetooth is supported
The 620s worked fine on my Nokia N95, I mainly use it via a Jabra bluetooth dongle on the PC.
Are you saying the Motorola S9 worked in stereo on the Hero?
Vince
I'm waiting for Jabra BT-3030, stereo bluetooth headset. I hope it will work.
I'll write more information, when will have got it.
----------------
12.03.10
I had got this stereo bluetooth headset already.
Works perfect: stereo music plays very good. Mic works perfect even under the jacket.
control of play/pause, before/forward song, volume control and answer on incoming call
every function work.
HTC Hero (Villain ROM 3.3, Android 2.1)
