Hello to everyone. I first apologize for my english. I have bought a used jamin on ebay, with no warranty and I got problems to connect it to my home wifi: the device finds it; gets ip, mac and other data; but simply can't connect to the wifi. It sits on trying (I had never this problem with more modern devices: Imate 8150 and Nokia n82).
Well, I have also read that it is a very common problem, over all for english rom (mine is italian: ROM 2.13.9.21 ITA
RADIO ROM 4.1.13.15
EXT ROM 2.13.9.111 )
I have understood tha maybe it is a problem of my device and the "G mode" router, so I modified the registry to enable the g mode on Jamin. But it was useless. I started to think that maybe the shortest way is to upgrade to wm6 or 7. What do you suggest me? It could be very risky?

HTC prophet will only support wpa Not wpa2 so you must change your router to support this even if you upgrade the ROM the device will still have this limitation (Some ROMs have wpa2 support but it is buggy and causes crashes)

Thank You for your answer...are you sure the problem is just that? Wpa2 instead of wpa? You are the first to mention it. I have an access point Netgear wg602 v4, but I don't understand if it supports wpa or wpa2 only...can you help me?

I-mate JAMin can never dream of wm7 ...... if it's specifications were at least double we could have hoped 4 it......

About wpa2 support ...... Currently all ROMS for jamin wid wpa2 r vry buggy ......
Em sure it iz da wpa2 issue 'cuz netgear wg602 does not support wpa...

O...K! Thank you. This make vanish every hope I had to use my wifi with jamin. There is some very important improvement on newer wm's that could push me to upgrade from wm5? I have seen that with the present ROM the battery last very very long.

I am new here. I am looking for a GERMAN ROM that supports WPA2.
Useing the wiki I can say, my Qtek S200 is a G4 and uses this ROM:
RUU_Prophet_2090732_20907115_020720_QtekGER_Ship.exe
I also tried to register at myqtek.com, but they don't accept my IMEI. Don't know why because it's a original Qtek phone. So I have to look somewhere else for support.
I also found this ROMs:
RUU_Prophet_220739_2207119_021921_QTEK_GER_Ship_NO_IPL_SPL.exe
RUU_Prophet_220739_2207119_024721_QTEK_GER_Ship.exe

But I don't know the differences and what "no IPL SPL" means.
A friend of mine got the Wizard and told me that I can also use a ROM from Tmobile, O2 or Vodafone and just skip the installing of the branding software and just update WinMobile.
So I found these ROMs:

Xda neo Race Edition: Version 215448 2154141 021921
Thus I don't want to kill my device I hope you can help me what to do.

hey what is WPA2? i am just curious.. i have a feeling it has soemthing to do with sound quality of conversations or listening to music on speaker or somethingg.. am i right? please tell me what it is.. i can try searching for help on wpa2 in this forums then.. thanks
WPA2 is a WLAN encryption standard. like WEP, WPA, WPA2
I need it for our wireless LAN access at university.
The newer ROMs of WinMobile 5 and all WinMobil6 Versions support this.

I think you should flash a WWE WM 6 Rom. It`s much better. No bugs.
I would prefere an official german WinMobile 5
There is no official German WM5 ROM with WPA2 support.
also O2 or TMobile doesn't offer a fitting ROM?
I don't know what features these O2 ROMs offer:

a friend of mine got a wizard and a just released ROM update from TMobile including WPA2 support, so I hope there will be an update for my prophet too. perhaps in some weeks.
T-COM in Germany sales an Prophet G4 (TC500) with Support of WEB,WPA and WPA2 !
I have uploaded the Extended ROM ! But i can't backup the hole OS ! Does anybody know how to backup the os ???

I just bricked my Prophet G4 (TC500) device and I guess that only original German ROM can save me.
So if you have any TC500 ROM and can send it to me, you are my hero.
About the backuping the whole OS - have you tried the procedure described on HTC_Prophet page:

There are also other ways to dump rom... just let us know if this one doesnt work.

I have an O2 XDA Neo (htc prophet), with the O2 ROM (german rom) i had no problems connecting to internet through my pc using wifi, but when i updated to a french ROM (RUU_Prophet_215738_2157127_023021_QTEK_FRE_Ship_NoVendorID) i can connect to the pc, but can't access internet, it says "page introuvable" (page not available or smth like that). I get the same thing when i tried wifi in public places (university, cafés...)
I tried everything, changing configurations on xda and pc ... still nothing, and this is my second XDA Neo with the same problem (I bought a new one thinking it was a hadware problem, but obviously not since it worked before with the german rom)... Help !! I really need wifi at the university !!
Guys, I tried to connect with GPRS but the same problem occured "page cannot be foud...", so now I can only use connection through my usb cable !!

Have you tried using a WM6 ROM and seeing if the problem continues? If you want a language other than english, try one of Gullums Coffee ROMs.
actually i thought of it and i'm using a wm6 now, for the GPRS it just needed some settings (the proxy server port ...) and it works fine. But for wifi still the "page cannot be found" error
ok now it's working, I don't know how or why, but today i was able to use internet through wifi in a café. At last I'm 100% satisfied about my ppc
Ok I have the xda terra/ Herald 100 but the german rom i dont speak Duetch is there anyway I can switch it over to English?

Hey I got this http://rapidshare.com/files/49315340/HTC_P4350_WWE_4.17.405.2_4.1.13.44_02.94.90_Ship.exe I tried flashing it but it goes to 2% and then come back error 294 invalid vendor ID
I don't know anything about the Herald. Try looking at that forum and posting there.
I'd guess from that however that your device is either CID Locked or no HardSPL has been applied. Please look at the Herald Forum for that.

all the rom that has been posted after the GULLUM post always have problem in GPRS connection,and we all know that the GPRS is the only one connection that can be used in PROPHET / DOPOD 818PRO.
i really miss the Gullum ROM, but i didn't fast enough.
can all the ROM cooker make it possible?
coz the Varanusvincent ROM usually can connect the GPRS and sometimes CAN NOT.
the WapVirus barely can connect to GPRS.
the Cloudyfa barely too can connect to GPRS.

Never had any probs with Gullum ROM's. I'd wager that it's down to your crappy provider and a simple user error or something.

not try to make confuse but i try all the version in here come in with suck GPRS connection.
usually @home can connect but now... CAN NOT AT ALL in 10x try usually just 1-2 can connect...zzz
i already upgrade my ipl from 1.10 to 2.20 is it any problem?
can i get another Radio Rom? the latest? or the stable version?

did you set your connection settings in your service provider properly? try using network wizard and advanced config go to Menu/more settings/connections and try ENABLE all settings under COnnections...

2. just please make solutions oneself before yelling out.....(there are always reasons if you were the only or one of a few crying ones),
3. so poor that my name is not in the "lie's" list,

Strange. Did you set the network wizard correctly?
I have had a few problems with different counties not being supported by network wizard you must set your gprs manually this is not my fault but Microsoft and please we have all worked hard to try to bring you these ROM's so please check your own hardware before knocking our work

and btw is the some version of Radio ROM really make different in other country to work perfectly? maybe just like Varanusvincent use his recommended Radio 2.19 and Marek 2.02

hmmm i never recommended a RADIO ROM to anyone but... what i know about radio ROMs is that they are related to how your device gets its signal from your provider thus having to get signal more often from your device leads more usage on your battery thus again leads to battery drain...

Hello,
In december 2010 i've installed Artemis Rom on my HD2 (Dutch).
After that the bluetooth only worked for about 20cm / 8".
The wifi connection is poor (no internet).
So i flashed back to stock.
Rom 3.14.404.2
Radio 2.15.50.14
SPL 3.03.0000
It still didn't work.
And i've tryed older stock roms, the same problem.
Is there anyone with a clue?
I know there are more questions asked about this problem but no solutions
were given, so here's anothere try.

There were some issues with that ROM quite some time ago.
Search that specific thread for a solution, I think it was something with a wrong MAC address.
