hey guys, been a short term fan of android, and i recently (or what i thought so) rooted my X10i with the original RB..20 Firmware.
Today i updated to the new R2BA026 firmware. and my device appears routed but it not, how do i go about rooting this firmware to remove the annoying Moxier apps etc.
Plz Plz Plz Help

Read this thread !!!
I just found it Lol
Thank you for telling me anyhow.
im really stuck on rooting it even with the instructions. im in the CMD.exe and all im getting is it cannot find the files even though they are directly on my C drive and also it IS connected via USB / Development mode
hellllllllllllllllp!
do you have adb installed ?
I prefer this method - forum.xda-developers.com, having tried the other today it's a bit more complicated afterwards imo trying to run adb.
the other way you said to me i tried on my unlocked X10i, but it wont work on this build as its already above the 24 build.
Ive downloadd the SDK and i have the ADB.exe in the kit but am i looking at the wrong thing? how would i install it if it just runs a cmd.exe?
With this method you can root any regional firmware, atleast up to 026 and you will get updates from seus, root will be gone but its hopefully just to root the new firmware again.....
Saw somewhere a full script with adb inside no need to install it on the computer but atm i can find it
ok well, erm, which method would be better, ?? shall i do the original root procedure i did before flashing the files on to the phone?

extract the exploid_x10 to a folder with the same name directly under C:
then put the adb.exe, AdbWinApi.dll,AdbWinUsbApi.dll into same folder
then cd to that folder with command promt and then run runme.cmd
that should do it
ok well so far so goo most of the files are moving on to the SD card BUT...
c:\exploid_x10mini>adb push su /sdcard/su
failed to copy 'su' to '/sdcard/su': Permission denied
thats what im getting on my Cmd panel.
Sorry, adb.exe, AdbWinApi.dll,AdbWinUsbApi.dll should be put into Exploid_x10/FILES folder.........
so do i have to create a folder inside the exploid_x10mini? because the files are already there

usb debugging should be enables on the phone aswell
all good till running rootshell when it comes back saying...
$ rootshell
rootshell
rootshell: permission denied
sorted YEY!!!
Thank you for all your help. Im not a complete noob ith computers, i know quite a bit but, dealing with android is a bit of a new experience.

It's personal preference I guess.
I rooted... now what?
How do I remove the Timescape and other crap after rooting with this method? If you didn't guess, I am a complete noob with Android.
I just realized that I can't run adb push/pull/root/remount on my rooted Vibrant.
adb shell and su works fine. After Googling, I found that it's not sufficient to root the phone, but the boot image or recovery image has to be changed as well.
I use adb because it's much faster to type on the desktop and it's faster than using something like root explorer to move files around. I could do it in multiple steps of copying files to sdcard and then pull/push from there. But it's a real pain.
I didn't try it, but I expect it will work if I go into recovery. But that's even slower and completely defeats the purpose of using adb in the first place.
Anyone find a way around this? G1 with Amon Ra's recovery and cyanogen mod have really spoilt me.
Thanks

Have you installed a custom recovery like Koush's recovery that can be done from Rom Manager?
Oh hai.

By that I presume that I'll have to boot into recovery and then be able to get root access with adb. Right? If so, no, I haven't done that. As I said, the reason I like adb is that it's so much easier and faster to to do it from the computer. If I have to reboot the phone into recovery to push and pull files, I might as well just do it over the phone or indirectly via the sdcard. In which case, I have lost the reason to use adb in the first place.
I can push/pull just fine here...
If you have not installed Clockwork Recovery that might be it. I would recommend checking in development section. Maybe you did not install the SDK and Drivers properly. It's all covered in Development.

I do have Clockwork Recovery 2.5.0.4. And I think my SDK and drivers are up to date. I can pull/push into the emulator and my G1 (running Cyanogen Mod). Just not into the Vibrant.
When you say that you can pull/push just fine, do you mean when the phone is running normally or when you boot into recovery mode. I haven't tested whether I can do the latter since it's no point rebooting to transfer files. Also, are you running the stock rooted ROM? I don't want to install a custom ROM yet on the Vibrant. I haven't yet seen the need for doing so.
I had posted this in development section, but looks like the mods moved it to Q&A. I think it was right for the dev forum.

Hi, I've successfully rooted my phone. I have a Huawei Y200.it might be easier if you waited for OneClickRoot do be launched maybe they have the device listed for auto flashing that does everything for you.
OneClickRoot: ==> I can't post links sorry ..New User, please search on internet..
But anyway, here's the batch file I think I uploaded it..
So its easy once you root it, but WARNING: DO NOT INSTALL CLOCKWORK MODE AGAIN THROUGH ROM Manager OR ANY SOURCE. (this might bring you into bootloop)
follow steps to use the batch file...
1- You need to do this on your phone: Allow USB Debugging and STAY AWAKE Function, STOP fastboot mode. Now Install ADB Drivers when connecting phone into computer via usb and debugging mode is on (you'll see a drive usually green on your computer, check for "drivers" inside driver folders and install windows drivers.
2- You need to install Android SDK : ==> New User, Can't post links, Search Android SDK..
navigate to default download location: " C:\Program Files\Android\android-sdk\platform-tools ", shift + right click inside the folder with nothing selected, and run command prompt from there. run following command "adb devices" and it should list a device number.
3- Now exctract the zip file in attachement and run these in order: -"adb.exe" then -"fastboot.exe" then -"root_v5.2.bat". It should say a succesfull message and ( as i remember) phone should reboot (if it states "reboot phone now" in cmd prompt). now you shoudl be rooted and see "SuperUser" application installed.
4- Check if you're properly rooted with a "rootchecker" market app. If App requested root access by SuperUser (ofcourse you'll tap Accept right?) and says you have proper root, you can now jump around and scream " I rooted my phone" like i did... You can now Install Link2sd app and enjoy free enternal storage since you've rooted your phone... Any Directions using Link2sd repost or you can search internet... One limitation is you can'r use swap (to increase your RAM ), and have to go through different ROM's. If rooted your phone succesfully please inform and on any questions about ROM switching...
Hi there.
The root process isn't so hard , bit the rom switch what would be important for me (not the method, i know that and i'we installed modified recovery its working...)
Went to hell and back @google to find any custom roms for this little fckr but besides the clean base rom and the ics por (whats not working for me) i could not find any other rom. Sorry my bad i have found one origonal stock rom too, bit besides theese do you know is there any other roms exists for u8655?
anyone try the above method?
is there anyone try the above method for English version?
An earlier version, on hungarian with english and german language included... worked perfect. Since 6 months.

This procedure is for CWM, not for root. The root phone you must copy superuser.signed 3.0.7 on memory card, and boot phone in cwm, and install zip from sd card/choose zip from sd card/superuser.signed3.0.7/yes, and reboot system now, when is proces for install zip over. Then your phone is rooted, you think because write ROOT_V5.0.2 it is for root-NO, this for install CWM.

Hi there
I did a research about this lock and i found a modified kernel what is capable of unlocking again the bootloader. (Claimed by the author, that it should solwe rhe issue)
Please tell me, since i did not upgraded the firmware due to the issue, could it be true?
Because i did not found any feedback from the users who tried it.
Can we count on another unlockibg method, or is this true that the bl can be unlocked via adb kerbel flash?
Thanks in advance.
I found an information on the german android-board

Fuchsteufel told us, that the recovery is working, but only with adb-commands, without any screen.
The solution is to flash an new version of the kernel and the cwm

Thank you.
So the other day I was trying Cyanogenmod 9 on my galaxy pocket, however I didnt realize it wasn't an official release and it was REALLY bugged and I made a huge mistake because i forgot to install CWM. Thing is installed this rom and I belive i pretty much bricked my phone because now I can't get access to any of my networks, wi-fi, bluetooth, or usb mass storage or my sd card are not being recognized either...
What I've tried so far was sending the stock rom through Quick ADB Pusher, but it tells me that even though my phone appears to be root It wont allow it to access, then I tried different ways to root and unroot because apparently SU is not giving me the permissions. So finally tried my last option with ADB (I'm really new to it ) and was trying an adb push but I keep getting permision denied if I send it to /root or read only file if I send it to /system also tried Asb shell $su but I keep getting a denied message. I would really apreciate if anyone could help me to find a way to copy my rom back into my internal storage, thanks a lot!

try this. download stock firmware of your device flash thru odin link http://samsung-updates.com/
thanks a lot, yes actually odin was my first choice (i forgot to mention it) but it gave me a failed message everytime i tried it, however i don't know what i've done because i just tried again a few minutes ago using the same rom and this time it worked
I am using a RCT6573W23, I have rooted it using Kingo and editing the ADK file... Everything went well, and I had installed SU and Busybox, Developement was on, but I don't think it remains on... I did some build.prop tweaks, and when messing with the LCD I messed up my system, disabling it from booting up.
I boot into Recovery just fine, and I DID BACKUP AND HAVE my original build.prop file, however, good ol' RCA doesn't provide any "files" for support at all, and connecting ADB is "SIDELOAD" only... I've read several places but everyone suggests going INTO recovery, which, I can do, or using ADB, but fail to realize it's sideload issue... I've pushed several files, but every single file is a bad footer, and wrong signature... I'm at a loss... Does ANYBODY have a recovery.zip from their Apollo 8" who could make a backup for me, so that I could sideload an official zip file. I would MUCH appreciate it... Thank you.
I have the same model... you're the only one I've heard of that has successfully rooted this one... is there a way I could get my official stock ROM copied without root?
Rooting it was simple, I believe you can go to settings backup and restore to get a .zip of your stock.. If you could shoot me a copy that'd be great. I can share how it was rooted, although it was super easy to look up.
There's not an option to backup entire system just app files.
What recovery did you use? and did you use the kingo universal rooting tool? And what edits did you have to do to the ADK?
I've successfully rooted but have no way, as of yet, to zip up my ROM. Any thoughts?
Anybody know if xposed framework or clockworkmod will work on this device?
-- Rooting your RCT6573W23 --
Install your USB drivers... If you don't have them, or you can't make your system acknowledge them, use the SDK-Method to fool your computer into reading the correct USB for your device... That method can be found at: addictivetips.com/mobile/what-is-adb-and-how-to-install-it-android/
Once you've got your drivers, before even plugging in your phone, make sure you have all of these options checked... From the developer's menues: "USB Debugging" "Allow Mock Locations", and in your security & screen lock settings: "Device Administrators", and "Unknown Sources" need to be checked...
Install Kingo from kingoapp.com
NOW, simply plug it in and click root on the pc... It'll install SuperUser and enable you to use just about any feature a rooted device can use, but without flashing roms... Still nice for cheatengine and stuff.
----------- Finished, Now... -------------------
Hmmm, once getting it going how would you go about making a backup that could fix my device? All I can do is adb update, and apparently no zip files have the proper signature. Is there no files that put Rom-to-Zip? I guess even if there were, I'd just need the permissions right to push over my build.prop which they wouldn't be most likely... And I can't nandroid...
I've acheived root and have SU, but Here's no way to make a nandrid without some sort of recovery...
