Hope that says all.

so thats mean upto 32gb max supported

Just bought a 16Gb class 2 microSDHC card today, made by Kingston.
I had no idea it would work, just took the chance.
Well it is working
Since it seemed to be my lucky day, I tried to flash megade 1.7.3 from the 16g card -> it worked. He he,
... going to really use my JADE as an MP3 player now !

I am using 32gb. and thats the max.

oh by the way 64 will also supports High Capacity (SD 2.0/HC) .. so 64 may work in the future.

I think 16GB is enough.

thnxs guys for anwsers )

Don't touch it. SDHC won't work, the wizard doesn't have compatible hardware. Check this thread for working cards:

sorry did not realize OP was referring use of sdhc card for a WIZARD. i have HERMES and i know there is documentation that it will work on such unit.

Stick with that one.
From what I have seen you want to stick with a card that runs 133X and slower. Any higher than that and they are SDHC which will not work on the Wizard. You will not find an 8GB card that will work in the Wizard, at least I haven't seen one.
Not sure what this guy is talking about:
clia said:
I don't think it exists. 2GB would be the highest capacity for mini SD. One time at a conference I asked a guy from Sandisk why they don't make any mini SD bigger. He told me for mini SD above 2GB it would require different technology with different interface with the device; and Sandisk will not jump into it since there is few device manufacturer want to support it.
Unfortunately, Wizard doesn't support MicroSD which runs as big as 4GB now.

8525 Memory ?

Hi Guys!
I have 8525 and i need some INFO about this phone i just got it so i need to buy a memory card which one does 8525 support? and how many GB can support??
Thanks
It supports the Micro SD card. Do not confuse with the Mini SD, Micro SD is the real small one. I think it can take up to 2 GB. (Don't hold me to the size.)
I use a "SunDisk" Micro SD 2GB card and it`s work preety fine.

It depends on if the phone has WM5 or 6.
Last I read, WM6 has support for SHDC cards, which have a limit of 32 gig per the spec. If you have WM5 on the phone, you are stuck with a standard SD, which is limited to 2 gig by the spec.
However, you might be able to find a 4 gig non-SDHC. I don't know if they exist in microSD formats, but I have a standard size SD card that is 4 gig.
Used it in my Blue Angel. Worked fine, if not a bit slow (data transfer was faster when I had it divided into a pair of 2 gig 'cards'. Think this was due to the overhead of a fat32 filesystem).
My hermes came with WM6 and is working perfectly with the 4gig sandisk I picked up over the weekend.
I have a 8gig sdhc card in mine with schaps newest rom. I cant wait for my 16 I just hope its supported

It should be. Spec is good for up to 32 gig.
...and after a quick google to verify, it looks like Toshiba and Sandisk both have announced 32gig cards. That didn't take long. Of course, I have a 4 gig non-SDHC SD card, so if someone 'extends' the spec officially with new access modes, or makes a card that is not quite SDHC spec, they may be able to release larger sizes without hardware/software upgrades for existing devices.
BTW, if you don't mind me asking, what do you have on that machine that you need a 16 gig card?
Heck, I'm using just a shade over 330 meg, and got the 4 gig card only because it was a good deal.

Not 100% but I think its 16 gig. Use the search function, chances are you'll come up with something.
16 gb available, 32 gb announced. That's at least what I saw... It's possible there are 32 gb already available, but not sure what Class (speed).
ye that 32 confused me.
I am new with those cards cause never had such tec before.
Had my HTC Touch HD 1 week now and would be nice to have a big card also
I found that there are classes of those cards(like calss 1 and 2) i figure calss 1 is better?
WHen i am buying the card where can i see the speed of the card(example when i want order those from ebay).
As i undersstand only 1 card can be in phone at the time.(sim+memory)
like here:
http://hothardware.com/cs/forums/t/41971.aspx
there at card you can see class biger number better? or smaler number better?(PS!Im not sure that card on the link is working with HTC Touch HD).

I'd love a 32gb card but no idea where to get one (or if I could afford it!!)

Class X means speed. Actually class 6 is the fastest one for those SD or mini SD cards.
16gb micro sdhc is the largest that is availiable at this time, in speeds up to class 6
32gb will work, but you cannot yet buy them anywhere (please correct me if im wrong )

ok, so they are both non micro sd.. doh
The upper-end of the microSDHC category has been reached! Samsung has announced that they’re working on 32 GB memory cards, which will be good news to media hogs who have long capped out 16 GB cards on their mobile phones. This is the first microSD card to hit 32 GB, and is the last denomination before moving to the microSDXC format, which will handle 32 GB – 2 TB. I talked with the SD association at CES this year, and it seems unlikely that we’ll have any micro cards breaking into 32 GB in the next six months (maybe something late next year, if I had to guess). That should at least give manufacturers some time to update their hardware to support XC. Samsung also announced that they’ll have a new 64 GB designation of their moviNAND memory, clocking in at 30-nm and 0.7mm high. The first 32 GB cards will be commercially available after mass production kicks in around February 2010.
More info on SDXC cards along with a time chart, here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=5309401
Class 6 means minimum 6mb/sec for memory write.
It doesn't mean that class 4 can't be faster than class 6 .... but with time flash memory gets slower . It's better to have "insurance" for bigger minimum
i am quite sure i read somewhere that the hd was able to support (theorically ofc) upto 64gb memory card. am i wrong ?

4GB microSDhc or 8GB microSDhc?

I'm planning to get a microSDhc card for my Jade (HTC Touch 3g).
Can you guys please advice will there is any difference in performance, response time and speed between 4GB microSDhc and 8GB microSDhc.
For the timebeing, I'm using mere 1GB micro SD card and its works great.
I know that both works with Jade, but how about the response time? I'm surely looking for bigger space, but not at the cost of speed and response time.
Thanks!!

I've been using 8GB since the beginning. When I compare the performance of my jade with a friend's who is using the "gift" micro SD card, which I presume is 1GB, I don't see a difference in speed or response time. With 8GB, you can afford to be lazy and not clean up the storage card for a while!

I'm planning to have my most of the programs/appilcations on the storage card, so was wondering about the response time.
On HTC site, they said they have tested 8GB, but didn't mention about the performance.
http://www.htc.com/in/faqs.aspx?p_id...0&id=85794&f=t
But, the salesman at the store said 8GB will make ur device slow, which I didn't want for more space. He was advicing for 4GB.
Have you installed programs/applications on the Storage card?
And is the reponse of those program on SD are marginally slower as compare to similiar application on device memory?
Even I'm looking to bigger space, it helps a lazy person like me to clean the storage after long long time, but at the cost of response time and stability.
All of my third party software are installed on the storage card. When I open most of them, the time taken is about the same as the default programs, give or take a second for the others. You shouldn't listen to sales people. I was told there were problems with 4GB SD.
nothing here
nothing here , message delete
I use a 6GB card, nothign wrong Wish mine was 8, but I can't justify buying a new one for an extra 2GB.
I'm not sure if it supports 16gb but I may buy one of those if it's available and if its compatible, which I have no idea lol
I'm using a cheapest 16 GB and don't see any deference at all comparing to 1GB card.
Correct me if i wrong, but i think you won't be able to notice the performance decrease unless you using a high-res/fast Digital camera?
Card touch 3g
Touch 3g with ROM 6.5, have been support 32GB microSD..!

64 gb micros....unbelievable

Has anyone seen this? http://tinyurl.com/ybz2qfd
man that's crazy, although the 64's won't work with g1, I think its expandable capacity is only 32gb, but that's still big! Not sure of the class #'s on these bad boys, but I'm sure if there aren't any 6 or 10 class versions available yet it won't be long!
EDIT: nevermind, they're all 32's.....the 64gb has something to do with flash or whatever, IDK
32gb is the addressable limit of the SDHC standard.. when 64gb cards appear they will be SDXC, which means no current hardware can use them. Awesome.

Strange you should say that....
hxxp://www.morgancomputers.co.uk/shop/detail.asp?ProductID=5614&CategoryID=410&SubCategoryID=433
As I'm a newbie, I can't post external links.... but apparently CAN post links where "http" have been changed to "hxxp". I spotted this link earlier today, from Morgan Computers - a BIG hardware-clearance company in New Oxford Street, London. £51 for a 32Gig SDHC card.
" The 32GB SDHC memory card is German made, leading edge technology at its best! It also comes with a lifetime manufacturer warranty.
The 32GB SD Card offers high storage capacity with a write speed of 10MBytes/s and a read speed of 20MBytes/s. It is ideal for new generation digital camera and other applications with SDHC cards slots.
Compatible with All SDHC devices
32GB stores approx 1200 x 10MP Photos, 545 Hours of MP3
May be in Eco Friendly Bulk Packaging
*Please Note: SDHC cards will only work in devices that are compatible with the Higher SDHC Specification cards"
I'm going to invest in one of these for my (new!) Desire - my two G-1's will have to continue to make-do with 8 Gig Sandisk TF cards.
You let us all know how that works.

I have two 32GB SDHC's, one is class 2, the other class 6.
The class 2 works but it's insanely slow and it consumes a lot of battery due to the extra hot time required for reads and writes.
The class 6 is extremely fast and doesn't cause noticeable battery drain.
So am I correct in assuming that the higher the class number, the faster the performance & lower the power usage?

Meh. Until there's a PAE firmware released for the device. Like how a 32bit OS can only handle 4GB RAM until you enable PAE. (In windows, you can simply "turn it on", in linux you need a kernel with a PAE module enabled)
PAE, or Physical Address Extension, should allow for a 52 bit limit on physical memory but only supports a 48-bit virtual address space. 4 × 10245 bytes, or 4 Petabytes and 256 × 10244 bytes or 256 Terabytes, respectively. (What that means is, if the hardware doesn't support 52 bit addresses natively, then they highest capacity that can be reached via PAE is 256 Terabytes through virtualization.)
What does that mean for an android device? A PAE Kernel Module could be created to allow for addressing of more than 32 Gigabytes, how far past 32 Gigabytes? That I don't know. I would assume at least somewhere in the realm of 128-256 Gigabytes. I doubt there will ever be a MicroSD card at that capacity though. By the time we see affordable solid-state storage as small as MicroSD with a capacity over 64 Gigabytes it is unlikely that MicroSD will even still be around, and I doubt anyone will still be using the G1 anyway at that point. We're talking another 4 years or so, making the G1 an antique by technology standards.
tl;dr version: Once 64GB cards are affordable enough for it to be practical to put the time and effort into a firmware mod (kernel module, etc) for an android version of something resembling PAE, you can expect -someone- will figure out a way to enable 64GB usage in the G1.
I think we're gonna see faces like this: all the time, when it comes to electronics industry... I can still remember my first Intel 486 with a few MB HDD!
Man one of these would be nice!
For me 6gb is enough..
For music etc i have a mp3 player!
Here we are 2 years later, 256gb micro sd cards are just starting to appear on evilbay.
Also USB thumbdrives that can handle up to 512gb cards
I used my sandisk 64gb sdxc in my G1 with no issues !
