Hi there peeps, just got myself a tg01 on orange network, its my first windows mobile phone so im totally lost as far as customisation is concerned.
im looking for help with the following things.
how to i get my own ring tone?
how easy is it to install the new themes etc?
more importantly how do you go about uninstalling them?
are there any recommended peeps i should be downloading these apps from?
thanks in advance for answers and im sure there will be more to come.

Ringtone:
1.common-phone/menu/options/phone/ringtone;
2.personalised (for each contact): tap on desired name twice(in contacts) you'll see a row named Ringtone;
3.adding new ringtones: put desired ringtones(mp3,wav,etc.) in start/file explorer/windows/ring or directly in windows folder.
New themes:
I don't know 'cause I'm not using them.
Uninstalling:
-start/settings/system/remove programs:chose your program from list, tap remove & follow on-screen instructions.
Downloading:
-google for "ppc software, windows mobile".

there is a free utility from paragon software to show names on sms, however it works only for the list view && received sms
take a look at penreader.com, it's lying there somewhere

I don't know. You could compare the two by looking into the cab files using WinZip. I wouldn't worry too much about it, there are more way's of doing the same thing. :wink:

That's funny, I was wondering why I was getting more traffic on that site lately...
The copy I have may not be the most current, though it does seem to work fine. It was not an official release. I can't recall the URL for the official release, but I know you can find it in Google.

yes you can transfer files from your computer to your xda2 via its "stand"
you can use resco file explorer to send files via bluetooth.
you can use Windows Media 10 to play in landscape mode.
the "MAC type" scheme your refering to can be achieve through Wisbar Advance 2

Until someone figures out how to cook and upload a custom ROM, here are some cab files for the Titan.
The first is the Home Plug-in used by the Touch. It shows the Weather etc. You
The second is a Music Plug-in
The third is a X-Button program. It's button appears at the top right of the today screen. One can close all programs or any one running program easily.
There's also a streaming video cab which lets one watch YouTube on the Titan. This website would not let me upload it. Search for it elsewhere. It's labeled as follows: RvBCrS_HTC_Streaming_Media
Just put these on your device and click.

hey thanks for the cabs man they are awesome but i had one question about the audio manager, i have a microsoft zune so i get all my songs thru marketplace but i wont let me pay them on my mogul do to licensing is there anyway to bypass that?
Does anyone know how to make the Weather in Fahrenheit and not Celcius?
What is the difference in the X-button cabs. Some are 120kb and some are 240K? I installed version 1 of x-button and had to hard reset my Mogul. I want to make sure the version and size of the Cab are correct.

I downloaded a song from Sprint and was wondering how to play it on my laptop. The .koz files are supposed to be really compact. However, I'd like to play them on my laptop. Sprint's music store's offerings aren't bad. However, after logging in on my PC, I cannot get to their music store. I've talked with two techies who say they'll fix the link between my account and the music store. So far - No go. At one time, Sprint supposed let you download an mp3 or wma to play on your laptop.

This one is almost two years old, and I think there are updated versions of each of these programs.
Yea I am starting to think this person is begging for problems.. Here is a post from the Titan/Titan subforum.
He revived yet another post from the grave for no particular reason. What he doesnt realize is that people may actually use the software/information in these old threads and then have to uninstall and install again once locating the newer versions or information. Thats simply not cool.. Even though its not that big of a deal, this place isnt for fooling around.
Please appreciate that this forum has been open that long and prospering. And that XDA still keeps your threads/posts around for years to come. Dont abuse or make fun of the fact that they provide us with those resources.

No one is saying that you cannot post that; it is merely a question of advisability of reviving a 2 year old thread and bringing outdated applications back to the foreground of the forums.
New users are attracted to the smartphone/pdaphone scene every day, and this website is one of the more prevalent sources of information. Old apps that may or may not work are just going to create problems for newer users if they do not work; and add more unnecessary questions being asked in the forums. When validating a new configuration, it is best to use the latest components that are available unless there is a specific reason for using older components; weather its on a pda or otherwise. New users don't always think of that, or think to search for a newer version, but instead post complaining that X component does not work and ask how to fix it. Leaving things like this buried saves those problems.
And if you like a application or enhancement that much it is not difficult to look for the most updated version you can find, state that its a great app, state that you have posted the most updated version available to you, and state the relavant revisions of radio firmware or OS rom you have validated the component on.

hey guys i just stumbled into a nice new(launched 1-1-08) program called Pointui it's a skin program for wm5 & wm6 phones. i am running it right now on my wing and i love the damn thing. but don't take my word for it check out what JASON CHEN from Gismondo had to say about it :http://gizmodo.com/339835/pointui-s...it-usable-best-wm-skin-app-ever?autoplay=true . btw guys i am in now way whatsoever affiliated to whoever made the program, i've learned so many things about my wing from this site that i just wanted to give everyone a heads up. again the program it totally free with absolutley no hoops to jump through.

There is one problem for all these today-good-lokking-interface-programms = they are working with windows apps.
but like pointui - all is finally redirected to the crappy winmobile software - when wiritng sms or anything else.
comming there, can be very nice - cube, pointui, spbmobile shell --> but at the end we stop there where we could get by

but i have a problem that might make some of you guys maybe laugh. I just cant install any kind of cab file on my tmobile wing.I read and do just as you guys say but i dont see a exe file to open. Please give me step by step on how to install cab files.

There is no .exe (and there is no cake).
To install a .cab file on your device you just copy the .cab on the device and then run the .cab.

I tried this out yesterday, it's pretty neat. My only 2 complaints are a lack of task manager and it eats up A LOT of battery. I uninstalled it.

But generally i would say:
images, videos, music: u can backup those files using ZUNE software, as it does sync your phone content with your pc
contacts,calender: are stored in your windows-live account. i you reset your phone and add your existing live account again, all calender entrys + contacts are restored automatically.
apps: sadly there's no way (or i don't know any) to backup installed apps and saved games. But all of your purchased apps are "connected" to your live-ID, so if you install an already purchased app again, just click on "buy" again and you'll receive a message, that you've already purchased that one.

Thanks, that's what I was looking for. But, everytime I transfer a video it encodes it to compatible WMV format.
