In this weeks I've made a very personal ROM just for me (with a lots of personalizations, personal data, and software for my use).
This has gave me the know-how to build a more interesting LIGHT ROM, and publish it. This is NOT the version I've installed in my phone, but it's very similar: It's LIKE mine, with the removal of my customizations.
Italian:

So, this is my first custom ROM, for the Italian guys!
Based on the original Italian ROM, nothing added, nothing upgraded, only removed some things, like Copilot, RSSHub and resproxy to reduce memory usage.
PagePool is 24Mb (20 in the stock rom)

how did you remove copilot? i tried with oskitchen and turned off all "copilot" named modules in "ext" section.
it does not boot anymore fully to windows. error window says: \windows\copilot.wm6ppc.... not found.

....
to change language i think you have to take the english sources and cook with these???

I've removed the OEM Package "ConfigAP" to resolve that error.
For an English version, sorry but I haven't the time to build and test, so I will NEVER do it
For now I'm preparing another version with Opera upgraded to version 10 (default is 9.5), and mortscript, but I cannot test it until 30 MAR 2010, so I think I'll release it 3/4 APR 2010

ATTENTION! This forum has a rules: one of this is that we can only post in english, or at least in our mother language AND english.
To answer your question:
1 - make HSPL ( HardSPL kit for Mega Touch2 by jockyw2001 )
2 - copy the new ROM file on your SD, rename it in PT74IMG.nbh
3 - turn off device
4 - turn on device holding VOL-DOWN and follow the message on the screen
so, i proved 2day , but seems it in not working, afther reboot not charging the file nbh and screen is coloured with the four colurs and on the last white line is write " serial " thank you

Ok,yours English is worse than mine ( ) but I think you have a problem with the file name of the ROM: rename it to PB74IMG.nbh and put it in the root of your SD.
If this does not resolve the matters, I think you have problem with the HSPL, so you have to ask in the dedicated thred.

Ok, il tuo inglese è peggio del mio D ) ,ma penso che tu abbia problemi con il nome del file della rom: rinominalo in PB74IMG.nbh e mettilo nella root (radice, directory principale) della scheda di memoria.
Se con questo non risolvi, penso che tu abbia problemi con il HSPL, quindi devi chiedere nel topic dedicato.

I've used EasyVisual kitchen, search for it in the forum.
I've not used a "guide" only a lot of time reading various post, searching all the web for many single informations, and making tests

"The best" depends on what you need: for me is the optimization that you can read in the first post
And sorry, but the way to obtain it is not short, and I'm NOT a good teacher

I'll reply to you in english so nobody will reply saying... "Please use english!". OK?
This is what you have to do:
1) Unhide Extented Rom
2) Unlock Extended Rom
3) Remove the unwanted cab
4) Adjust config.txt into \windows (you've to remove the line with CAB:\)
5) Lock Extented Rom
6) Hide Extented Rom
7) Soft reset
And that's it!

First, it's a hardreset not a softreset !!!
But you don't have to do a hardreset when you remove it from the autostart folder and seach the registery for any entry refering to ia caller id ( I don't have it anymore so I can point it out )

I don't think that we have to get personal here. This is an international user forum and it's just a common sence to use international language for it like it or not. Just use online translator for that matter like some other people do.

If you could really do that I would be very interested in the process you used. The german community is looking forward to a GPS enabled Trinity ROM and I think the process should be about the same.

i hope the best way is to BE PATIENT
I don't know if it's possible (someone can also contraddict me), but if we wait for an italian version of WM6 (of wichever pda), we can easly extract the files & replace it into wm6 with a CAB (so we can install it in every ROM).
Possibly, the files will be renamed with the same eng area code (0409), so the files will be overwritten and the same space of eng ROM will be avaiable.

1- il mio pc di casa ha il sistema operativo "vista";
2- ho scarsa materia per quanto riguarda i comandi unix;
3- se gentilmente c'è qualcuno che riesce a darmi una dettagliata guida, partendo da zero, fino all'installazione del sistema ubuntu.

But the real reason why I posted: I have slightly the same question, but knowing how to create the rootfs sdcard/usb would be enought for me (I prefer via Windows, but a detailed Linux guide would also be fine)..
Assuming that you are already a little lost, I think that installing Ubuntu on your Folio might be a bad idea. It is still experimental, the hardware is not fully supported, and you won't be able to use your tablet like you would with Android.
I'm just saying that you should wait for a better support of Linux, because you would be very disappointed at the moment.

I rebuilt DjSteve "GS2.4beta3" zip with all the translated apk : Contacts, contacts provider, Phone, Gallery3D, Calendar, Framework-res, Systemui and settings, plus I added "23portrait", ADW, 190 dpi default....and the same tweaks of my SD2.3 rev 2.1....
14-10-11 : REV.A - Removed Dell Keyboard, Dell Stage - ADDED default Italian language, 3G Watchdog, Dolphin HD, Battery calibration, Cxxxxxt Live, not call log, ES gestore file, Real Calc, Tunein radio, changed default ringtone and notification sound, added Market ver.2.x.x and removed "Market updater", added IC Music, added IC sounds and ringtones, added Gallery3D INT by default, Optimized build.prop with 3g improve settings and other memory tweaks and.....ADDED customizable "loop tweaks" (thanks to "eoghan2t7"), that works so fine with Streak !

9- comando reboot di fastboot (make a fastboot reboot)
10- entrare di nuovo SUBITO in recovery fermandosi al menu' con le 4 scelte, scegliere la prima (FACTORY RESET) (keep attention, press vol+ and vol- keys as soon as you see logo DELL, then choose option 1 FACTORY RESET)
11- avviare lo Streak, scegliere preferibilmente ADW come scelta predefinita di launcher, l'altro l'ho messo per "sicurezza" (boot the system, choose preferably ADW, the other one is there only for security reasons)
12- la ROM è di default in ITALIANO, per cambiare la lingua basta andare nelle impostazioni - (Rom is default in ITALIAN, if you want to change language, go to settings)
13- NON ESEGUIRE ASSOLUTAMENTE RESTORE DI APPLICAZIONI O IMPOSTAZIONI DA TITANIUM O ALTRE UTILITY SIMILI, INSTALLARE LE PROPRIE APP PREFERITE SOLO DAL MARKET (DON'T USE TITANIUM BACKUP OR OTHER BACKUP APPLICATIONS TO RESTORE PREVIOUS APPLICATION OR SETTINGS, INSTALL YOUR OWNS ONLY FROM MARKET)

VERY IMPORTANT NOTES :
16- Ho aggiunto uno script nella directory "system\etc\init.d", che permette di velocizzare notevolmente i tempi di risposta con le app più utilizzate dalla Rom (ad esempio il Launcher). Di default ho inserito solamente le apk di utilizzo "scontato", è possibile però personalizzare la lista delle app a proprio piacimento editando il suddetto file, sostituendo o aggiungendo fra le "" i nomi dei servizi delle app che vogliamo andare ad inserire. Lo script da editare con "root explorer" si chiama "97personalize_tweak". I nomi dei servizi li trovate nella directory "data\data". Lo script può essere editato tranquillamente dopo avere reinstallato la rom e tutte le vostre applicazioni. Per maggiori info vedi http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1205744(I added a script in "system\etc\init.d" directory, it's able to speed up response times with the most used app of the Rom (eg the Launcher). By default I inserted only the "obvious" apks, but you can customize the list of the app to your liking by editing this file, replacing or adding in to the "" the names of the services of the app that you want to insert. The script to be edited with "root explorer" is called "97personalize_tweak". You can find the name of the services in "data\data" directory. 17- Consiglio di modificare la scelta delle animazioni da visualizzare in "nessuna animazione" da impostazioni\display\animazione, sembra che influisca positivamente su alcuni impuntamenti che, anche se raramente, mi dicono che a volte capitano....(verify that "display animation settings" is on "no windows animation are shown")
18- Per cambiare il "Timezone", cambiare prima la lingua della ROM in inglese (UK), successivamente cambiare il proprio fuso orario, infine reimpostare la lingua desiderata ..(To change "Timezone", please change first language to "English/UK", then set your "timezone", then rechange language with your favorite)
19- Dopo qualche minuto di uso, Superuser notificherà un aggiornamento, eseguirlo quanto prima. Se ciò non succedesse, fare l'aggiornamento direttamente dal market(After few minutes of use, Superuser will notify an update, please do it as soon as possible. If this does not happen, do the update directly from the market )

great work from all of you. i really appreciate. the streak is a wonderful device.
a friend like to buy it, since i get a very very cheap galaxy s2 from amazon i will sell him my streak.
my decision is because i think that if it happens it will take alot of time to get CM7/8 on the streak. i am hungry for ICS and i believe the S2 get it soon.
so have a good time and keep on. maybe i can get a used streak later to play around again.

No, with 2.4 amss you don't need..
Have u seen I renamed Rev.A in "MaxicetDroid1.0" ? It's the same...

Rom is very good. I am using with spanish localization.
Everything is fine except market. It froozen whe install an application. I have made several times the installation process (following all the steps...)

It's easy to resolve, but since you installed several times this rom, it's better that you install my "MaxicetDroid1.0", without the need to flash amss.mbn.
Flash the zip file of rom only, then do a factory reset...

Hi, all. After upgrading my Streak, it is rebooting several times a day, with no apparent consistency. Is anyone else seeing this? Any ideas?
