As you know, after we flash to orange rom ,this device will aways ask for the unlock code....
And i contacted vitamise because i think that vitamise had made a keygen for TG01/T01A .
However he replied :
Unfortunately i can not unlock the T01-A as i have the codes for all TG01 and they are imei# specific, i do not use a software to generate the codes

You already can unlock, use a hypersim
How about Mr.sim?
But i think it can unlock by code.
Someone has the all IMEI code of all TG01 device so if they want they can write the tool to calculate the unlock code for T01A
something I know
mr.mike,something I know as follow:
1. nobody so far can unlock t01a by unlock the t01a IMEI. but the orange tg01 can be unlocked by unlock IMEI.
2. X-SIM is a sim card, you can write your mobile sim card number to the X-sim,and then insert the X-sim to your T01A,then you can use the T01A in other country. But ocasionally you will lose you singal very often.
3. I think if we can unlock the phone by unlock the rom?
i tried mr.sim but t01A doesn't recognize sim
Why didn't you flash italian unlocked rom?
you mean the italy rom is unlock?
can you give me the link that I can download it?
No, you cannot get sim-unlocked via ROM.
I supposed you have a DOCOMO sim card.

Hi bird
Here it is
http://www.toshiba-europe.com/mobile/Images/TG01WP_6.5_IT_Update.zip
i think and i remember the flowing (don't take this as 100% sure is just what i remember, i may be wrong) :
you can unlock orange and O2 by code because as i remember European Union has passed a law that operators must unlock phones on customer request and if the user pays for it while phone is still under warranty.
if i remember right i heard that on TV News in same time period it was decided to set limits on roaming costs between EU countries.
so in EU unlock codes works simply because is required by law.
if someone has a TG01 keygen it could work on t01a by flashing a eu(uk,fr,de,it,ro,etc?) rom and entering the proper unlock code. that is if phone is not bricked by flashing eu rom and you can get a valid code.
you cannot unlock phone by just flashing different rom. PERIOD.

Don't waste your time, sim lock is not ROM related!
Whatever ROM you'll flash, your tosh will remain sim locked.

Yes,i know that....
But the problem is up to now we can't find a man who has keygen for creating unlock code...
The salers who i contacted said that they just have the list unlock code for all Tg01 device ,they don't have the keygen...
However, when some one has this list,he can make the keygen ,and tg01 don't limit number of times to enter code.
So i believe that the code for t01a will be obtain in the future...

I sure because locked by docomo are strongly different with orange...
Locked by docomo,we can insert sim and they just have a warning about sim...Although you can't use phone function ,you can use the other function of windows. Now,it look like pda...Locked by docomo ,softbank or the other Japanese telecommunication company, they never offer unlock code and you also don't have any place to insert code...
Locked by orange ,we can see a place to enter code after insert sim...if you can't over come, you can use phone anymore..and you should remove sim card...
Before i flash,i can use this device by using Mr.sim ,now when i put mr.sim ,t01A doesn't recognize

is not true. it is still locked by docomo and if you have a docomo sim you will see it still works.
orange is just a picture on startup. that is because operator logo is overwrite by flashing while sim lock, imei, mac adress are not.
or let me put it that way: is your imei a orange imei ? no is still your original imei and that is because flashing rom dosen't overwrite phone data.

Before flash the UK rom to T01A, my T01A have a docomo ROM,when I power on,I can enter the desktop but there have no signal, the phone always search for signal. Only when I use X-SIM or Hydra SIM the phone can search signal.
But When I flash the UK rom to T01A, when I power on the phone ask me to input the unlock code,If I can not input the unlock code,I can not enter the desktop.
that is all
I think that if we can overcome the enter code screen,we can use the T01A by any sim...

As I recalled my flash of X05HT, I think your sim-lock is due to the UK ROM, or by software.
So if we can modify the UK ROM, the sim-lock screen will go away. Like Da Mafia did http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=653566.
We called it NAG SCREEN.

why didn't you ask cingular when you called them??
i suppose if you insert a sim card from another company, a device will ask you for an unlock code.
Unlock Procedure
On devices I've used in the past:
Insert non-Cingular SIM into the device
Turn on device
Enter code when asked for it
Use unlocked device
If you don't have a non-Cingular SIM you wish to use you'll gain nothing from unlocking the device.

I travel a lot internationally for work...does this mean you have to enter this code with each sim card?.
I know on my samsung t809...there are a unique sequence of buttons you enter to get into the maintance screen...this will unlock permanently.
Hi,
I am a long time user but first time poster on this forum. I have had many WM phones and am currently fighting my newly purchased TG01.
I have an unlock code from Vitamise but no matter what I try I can not get the phone to bring up the simunlock screen.
I have tried the original tosh / orange rom and several custom roms. The tosh / orange rom does nothing just shows "searching..." and all the custom roms I have tried tell me they have a problem loading "simunlockp.exe" when I insert my O2 sim. My have an Orange sim which works fine so it isn't a radio problem.
Is there anyway to manually call the simunlock mode? Or am I totally missing something?
Thanks in advance for your help, I have silently solved so many problems with info from this site and this is the first time I am at a loss.

First of all:
as far as I know you can unlock tg01 on original/stock(toshiba) ROMs only!
Yeah I read about that.
It had the original orange / tosh rom when I got it and to be totally sure I reflashed it with the rom from the tosh website. Still no luck, no unlock screen, just "searching..." and "Sim Blocked" displaying on the orange home screen.
i have the exact same problem anyone got a solution PLEASE ! even tried flashing back to the stock rom and says invalid wont flash it ? (from toshiba website)

You have to use SDDL+ to flash the orginal rom back to the phone
Yeah I had that problem too, the file you need is in this forum just search for it.
I am on the original rom but still no luck.
I took the phone into an orange shop today, they had a look and declared it was "weird" that it wasn't showing the unlock screen, I then spent ten minutes on hold to customer services who also decided it was weird and told me the "technical team" will call me back in the next couple of days.
Is there anyway to call the unlock screen manually, or unlock the phone with a code from the dialler like when you use *#06# to display the IMEI?

Right, went to a phone unlocking shop today and the guy basically told me he has never successfully unlocked an Orange TG01.
He also told me he had to stop selling rebel sims as he had way too many complaints from his customers about them not working, he had a some left though and agreed to sell me one real cheap as long as I promise not to return it
I got one for a quid and can confirm it doesn't work, I get all functions but can't receive incoming calls or texts.
Basically I am giving up and will sell this locked phone to buy an unlocked one.
Thanks to everyone one this forum for all the help and discussion though, just seems the Orange TG01 is impossible to unlock....

You don't need to spend such an amount of money(30eur): vitamise do the job for 10gbp~11eur, quick&accurate.
P.S.Yes, it is true.
For safety: (on stock toshiba ROM) put a sim not supported by your tg01 and if asks for unlock code everything should be ok for a future unlock by code.
Use vitamise service with no fear, he has best recommendations...
I have unlocked Orange TG01. Vitamise sent me unlock code and everything was OK. I can recommend him. In the beginning I had no idea how to use the unlock code but he told me to try hard reset with locked sim inside. I did it and then I was asked for unlock code...

Will updating or debranding or modding xperia x10 unlock the phone, it was locked to Rogers Canada but I unlocked it recently with an unlock code? It is running 1.6, any advantage of debranding or updating to 2.1 is enough for now. Thanks
No, the only way to unlock the phone is through an unlock code. debranding simply takes the branded bootscreen off, and allows you to have generic firmware, so that when ota uodates roll out, you don't have restrictions imposed on them by your carrier (or the carrier the firmware was through rather).

Hi All,
There have been many confused members (especially the noobs) who do not understand the difference between unlocking and debranding so I wanted to start this thread to clarify this matter once and for all.
Debranding/Flashing: : This is when you flash some firmware other than your original operator's FW. For example, if you have an AT&T or O2 branded X10, when you flash/debrand generic fw (or any other fw of your choosing) you simply get rid of the "branded" software pre-loaded on your phone. Hence, the term "de-branding". This does not mean that your phone is unlocked. You will still have to use your original operator's SIM card, like AT&T or O2, to use your phone EVEN AFTER flashing/debranding your handset.
Unlocking: This is when you "network unlock" your phone and are able to use it with any GSM operator you choose other than your original operator. For example, you have an AT&T or O2 branded X10 and you want to use it on T-Mobile US or UK, can you do that after simply flashing/debranding? The answer is NO. Why? Because your phone still requires a special code to be entered before it becomes network unlocked. For further reading, please go here.
FAQs:
1. If I flash to generic firmware using Bin4ry's flash tool, will I unlock my phone?
No, you will simply debrand your phone but, you will still need to get the unlock code.
2. If I debrand my phone and then unlock it but, I would like to go back to my original branded firmware, will my phone become re-locked to that network again?
No, once you unlock your phone, it will remain that way no matter what firmware you flash in the future.
3. How do I know if my phone is network unlocked?
The simple way is to pop in another operator's SIM card, for example you have an AT&T branded X10a, then you can use a T-Mobile SIM card. If your phone reboots and you do not get a "enter code" screen and you see that you are connected to the T-Mobile network then your phone is network unlocked and can be used with any GSM operator.
Another way is to go into the hidden service menu. In the lock screen (the one with the swype animation) press the following sequence of buttons (Home, Back, Back, Home, Back, Home, Home, Back). If you are on 1.6 replace Home with Menu. Then go to service info --> SIM lock. In the top line, if you find this [X] Network 10, then your phone is locked. If you find this [ ] Network 10, then your phone is unlocked.
4. How can I get my unlock code?
There are a few sites from which people were successful in getting their unlock codes like MobileInCanada and CellUnlocker. There is also a thread by Xda-member "Lancez" here who can provide unlock codes for a fee. Currently, there is no known method of unlocking your phone for free.
I hope I have clarified this matter for everyone.

Good day !
I have come across a situation of unknown bootloader of SK17 .
I found some shop in Hong Kong is selling some cheap SK17 (not sure if it is the same as SK17i) . I asked the shop keeper and they said that the bootloader is locked , but without SIM lock .
So , will someone confirm me if this situation is possible ? As I read some post in this form it indicate that locked bootloader is usually because it is branded , i.e. SIM locked . If it is SIM free version does it mean I can make the bootloader unlock ?
And , what if the system shows "Bootloader unlockable ? No" ? Is there any way to work around this issue to make the bootloader unlock ?
Thanks so much !
Rgds,
Kurz
Hi!
A simlock is something totally different to the bootloader´s lock.
No Simlock means that you can use any sim of any provider you like and who´s band is supported by phone´s hardware.
The bootloader ist locked by sony basically to prevent people from removing the sony Firmware even if it is not branded. A second issue is probably to prevent people from unlocking and playing with the firmware who do not know what they do.
Before the lock of the bootloader it was easy for everyone with one-click-tools or similar to root the phone. This could have led to many RMA procedures at Sony
But there must be a possibility to unlock it due to the terms of open source software.
So there is no need for you to unlock the bootloader as it takes any simcard anyway.
What the issue about sk17i sk17 and sk17a is, I do not know yet. But I´m curious about it
hi... how to know that your xperia mini pro unlock already in bootloader?
my rooting status is,
Bootloader unlock allowed: YES
is it already unlock in bootloader?? or not
It meens that it is be allowed to unlock your bootloader. It means not that your bootloader *is* unlocked.
Hi Poedel ,
Yes I understand SIM locked and Bootloader locked is different . But I wish to install 3rd party roms (CM7 rulez) , so I still wish to know how to unlock the bootloader .
So maybe I change a little bit about my question .
1) a sim unlocked device with locked bootloader (bootloader unlock allowed : no) cannot unlock due to the SIM lock . Then will it allow to unlock if the device change to SIM unlocked ?
2) Any method to work around the locked bootloader (bootloader unlock allowed : no)
3) Any way to unlock the bootloader if IMEI code cannot be used to extract the unlock code ? As I know some of the shop will use flash rom writer to wipe with another device firmware and IMEI will changes (it happens last time when I buy a X01HT) .
Thanks a lot !

okay, usually you'll go to the sony's dev site bootloaderunlockl.sonyericsson.com (don't know the correct sub, could be correct) and authenticated by your IMEI and email you'll get the unlock code. Without IMEI you won't be able to unlock. But even if you IMEI changed you can try the current IMEI. What I think is that Sony just saves the Email and IMEI into a mySQL Database to cope with the situation if your device enters RMA à la "you unlocked, your fault". It would be rather not the way that they look if your current IMEI really belongs to the device there. I would simply try it. BUT!
There is a post where a method is shown to root your ph0ne without unlocking the bootloader.
So here are both links:
rooting without unlocking not tested by me (even not yet read *covering*)
default way like I did it
Dear Poedel ,
Thanks , that's exactly what I wish to know .
So in worst case if bootloader is not going to unlock in normal way , I should use the test point function to bypass it and flash another room and firmware into it , and unlock the bootloader again ?
Thanks very much !
