i unfortunately did something (have no clue what) wrong while applying hard spl on my htc niki100. no bootloader is available anymore and hard reset is not applyable neither. pc keeps asking for installing data interface driver when connected to it. i guess jtag is an option but since im not into soldering i'm searching somebody who can do that for me. who ever can unbrick my niki will receive 50€ as a reward/thank.

if you are willing to play, go to a local phone shop. If its fixable, they'll fix it for for about £60 (depending on the fault)
At the very minimum, they'll tell you what the fault is...
thank you, i'll try that. here in switzerland usually the estimation of cost for repairing is about 50 pounds, but it's worth a try.

You might also get a used Niki around 50€ at [email protected] Or check out a tool named Frankenkaiser (never tried it, but search the forums for it, also kaiser/vogue/polaris, it should be the tool you need).
hmm, i got my niki200 for 20 euro's so if you look good you can find one for not too much money

yes, it's done, however, there's no such thing as a free lunch any more, and as a result of the annoying question barraging freeloaders, I'm afraid this comes with a few strings attached.
Please note I'm not victimising Nike owners; I was purchased a Polaris and given a Kaiser and hence was indebted to those communities.

I'd also like to point out the fact that imei-check will be profiting, whereas olipro/cmonex will be buying a nike to further help the community...

I can't understand why this post is a sticky one, i can't agree on the idea of selling unlock codes, this is not fair, and it is against the ideal of xda comunitty. We all work for the same here on xda, i agree with donations but i can't agree of selling things like unlock codes. I am SURE that sooner or latter a FREE unlock tool will be released.
But, i also want to say that olipro has done a nice job, i just can't agree with the selling....

I agree, although I have not done any XDA hacking, I have made some tools over the years that are used world wide, I spend month's coding, bug fixing, adding new features, etc...
And what do we coders get in return... Nothing but moaning that there is this error, that error, and wish it would do... (You get the idea)
I still realease my software to the masses and hope/rely on donations. But the hope/rely don't get you very far.
I agree with the Minimum donation, and will be paying myself as soon as I need my Niki Sim Unlocking.

I do waste my time with niki development, and i don't get payed for that, i also don't spend time writting post's talking about how many hours i work for getting something fixed...
We are spending time on gps and wifi fix and if we can make this work, we won't sell anything, we will share it for free!
If you want to get paid for what you do, you shouldn't waste your time coming here to XDA... The idea of XDA isn't get paid for what you do, it is doing that because we all work for the same...
But... You can do wathever you want, i am not a moderator or admin, i just don't agree with this...
I only want to say 2 words about this:
1st. It's a very smart solution, cheap and olipro can get some money to work in others devices.

sadly life isn't that black and white, and if you notice, I've made a fair few damn contributions, but I'm afraid I'll reserve my right to pick and choose what I do.
also, whilst I do wish you all the best with the GPS/WiFi attempt, I've got the nagging feeling that without actually cutting a large hole in your device and fitting some GPS receiving attachments to the chip, it's impossible.
Oli ... you are so smart ... tell us ... how to change the nv-items? is it enough to start gps? if the antenna not present, we can check this in some minute.
If not ... dont bug us!
First of all: Thanks Oli for your time you spent on research. You're first with the Niki Solution as I understand (I don't mind imei-check.com ).
But I also do not agree with selling of solution.
I'm sure you was thinked about how to protect better your solution using individual IMEI, but will be very sadly when you will your solution cracked for public use.
We will be happy that will have a the free solution, but you will be not so happy.
Anyway.. I still use my method but still thinking how to donate you. (my country doesn;t support paypal).

it's a fiver, pay a fiver to unlock now; hardly busting a nut, or yeah, sit and wait and see if you get lucky.
What I dislike most though, is that because I came up with a solution, you think I'm somehow obligated to ****ing hand it out.
Can remove simlock from HTC Raphael and from any other HTC devices.
This service is not free.
You will get unlock code in 5 minutes to 72 hours.

donating the money is upto you, if you dont want to unlock it then you dont want it, but there are people who need to unlock their phones immediately, NO FREE SOLUTION AT THE MOMENT

that makes more sence doing it this way, what bugs me is the apparent need for a middle man as is the case with other "unlockers", i donate straight to the forum which is exactly where the money goes anyway so why the middle man, just seems a bit daft if you ask me.
Course things have changed on here over the years, an as they say you dont get anything for free any more so thats how things have to be now.
I am sure I take more from xda than I give, and I do try and help out when I can, but frankly most of us don't have the same skill set as olipro/cmonex. In case you haven't noticed who made your spl lately, take a look. I respect their work and think they are being more than fair. The amount they are charging doesn't even come close to covering the amount of work they put in, not to mention the free software and support they supply the forum. I wish xda would go to paid memberships (10-20£ a year for everyone but active cooks) to weed out a lot of junk and help support those who contribute. Without XDA, my phone(s) would suck.

Im saying that what olipro/cmonex and co do is better than what otherpeople do on here, they give people the opertunity to get it free if they contribute which is exactly what the forum was made for in the first place, i dont agree with free loaders taking and not giving, what bugs me about all the other folk who charge for things is that they dont take in to account what that person gives back to the comunity financially or otherwise.

i have just recieved my Pro from HI, in toerh words the DUTCH provider KPN, and it was already unlocked, not a problem whatsoever, i even tried it with my T-Mobile sim, and it functioned perfectly.
so i dont know if basically they give em out locked or not, as most of my friends who have got that phone recieved it unlocked.

not sure what you mean by middle man.
anyway, yes you still get many things for free such as the hardspl itself! that will ALWAYS remain free. and then, many cool custom roms and packages/cabs, descriptions and support for unbricking the usual non special bricks, support for flashing too, etc. etc.
edit: ah I see there is no disagreement after all.

I want to buy a phone that is locked to vodaphone from adbroad... If i donate and u give me this advice will i be able to unlock it and use it 100% ?
I just recieved a AT&T Galaxy Note I717 for $10, on the case that it was "F_ed up". It indeed shows no signs of life, will not turn on, show any charging lights, or boot into any mode. However, when I plug it into my PC, a Qualcomm Device is recognized, and an unformatted removable drive "G:" shows up in my computer. I have never worked on Androids further than rooting my phones over the years, but I am a computer science student. I have looked around the forums and internet, but all the other threads I have found assume the ability to boot. If anyone has any ideas on where to begin I would be very grateful.
I got the device from a friend of a friend of a friend, so I cant really determine what happened to it.
It's bricked.
To repair it will require a tool called a riff box to connect to the board and flash a firmware to, in a process called jtag.
Riff box will run you about $200 which ain't bad if you're going to be doing a lot of jtagging and and good with working on electronics.. but if it's just for this once you'll need someone with the equipment and know how, mobiletechvideos offers this service.
Thanks for the help. I really don't have $50 to spend on it at the moment. I was really hoping there was something I could do myself. Oh, well, ill keep them in mind next time I have some free money.

Hi , i have been around for while ,i mainly read and try to learn all i can about Android O/S .
i am no professional at all.
my Mobile atm wont boot up at all , can i please !! ask for the best place to send it in for repair ,if repair possible.
this is one of the greatest site i ever saw ,i never contributed in any help to fix issues ,i am profoundly sorry ,i wish i could be a programmer or do best ,i am always afraid to be a bother and miss inform then inform properly.
this isn't begging but an honest explanation of my capacities and limitations in this domain.
for Network issues of and windows and Apple products , pm me im good in those and will always give you the right time.
For the mean time my HTC Amaze 4G ,i wont boot-up best i get is a flashing screen (whiteness color) .
So i guess i would need to send it in a repair shop or other for fix,it isn't a new phone but worked great.

Have you done any modification to it, or is it still completely stock? If still stock with no mods hanging on a flashing white screen is not a good sign. That generally means it needs repair. If you've tried to mod, what where you doing before it failed?
Hopefully we can find you some help

Hi the good people of XDA,
After sleuthing online about this problem for the last 3 weeks I'm left with no choice but to explain my situation and beg for help.
Last month I bought a trusty good ol' S3 Intl GT-I9300 in Pebble Blue off my neighbour prior to the death of my micro USB port on my Xperia Z1C, rendering it useless meaning I had to buy this hunk of junk!
Anyhow,
After getting used to it (having owned a few in the past) I became rather bored of the 4.3 update and it was becoming slow and sluggish, so I though why not back down to 4.0.4? So I did and I get "0049 IMEI & Not Registered On Network Errors", One of my old S3's did this a few yonks ago so I flashed it back up to 4.3 and booyah my IMEI came back, unfortunately, for this time, it didn't go as planned. I've tried bloomin' everything, from re-flashing a myriad of .tar files in Odin from 4.0.4 to 4.1.2 heck the obvious one 4.3 and to no avail, nada, nothing. Even tried to flash modem packages but still nothing.
I sure hope somebody out there can help me, my missus is fed up of me moaning and hearing the clickty clack on the keyboard till' 4AM, I'm losing my sanity as well as my hair too!

When you update to 4.3 you're replacing the bootloader with an updated one, Idk how did you managed to get “4.0.4” but imei lost is certainly an effect of it..
There was a program for Windows that you can use to restore your imei, especially if it's 0049, I forgot whats the name of the program but you can try to restore the imei using it, sorry I'm lazy right now so I'll leave the researching to you XD
If that doesn't work - you could probably replace the motherboard really cheap knowing the S3 is almost 4 years old, heck I replaced my usb port for $10 back in January (yes from a Samsung store)

Hi! sorry for late reply but the best I can find is z3x Samsung repair tool, it's paid but you can probably get it for free from somewhere (not discussing it here)
