I managed to run the iGO, but never able to start with the correct resoultion, only fill the quarter of the screen.
Any idea? Config file? Step by step tutorial?

Hi. iGo currently has no res. patch or anything to fit X10. It's basically iGo MyWay 2009, designed for moto droid (same res as X10). On the droid it has 60 day trial, but this baby is cracked. I use it with no problems. Supports any PPC map.
(included maps and poi for Romania, Bulgaria, Greece and Germany).

Just search the windows mobile forums for some maps. I'm using those and work just fine. Glad you like it! (don't forget to get the buildings and poi too)

search what forums? do you mean 0n this website ? if not can you please find the maps and post a link would be greatfull!
I installed motonav but it asks for the original SD card. What do I need to do?

yes, search xda-developers forums for the maps. unrar the archive to the root of the sd card. the apk must be in the root too.

root folder means this:
let's say your sd card is d:\
extract the archive directly on d:
you will have in d: the motonav folder and the .apk file.

Warez and links to warez aren't allowed on xda, next step is a temp ban. If anyone else asks for or posts warez this thread will be closed.
I discovered that maps from IGO8 are working well on the android version! just copy maps and poi folders under content folder.

How can I get the res to fullscreen on my Xperia ?

works extremely slow on my X10. did I do something wrong? it can't work that slow on 1GHz Snapdragon...
i got all my maps and pois and other resource files from IGO 8.3 on my old X1.
on my xperia it work ok like a rial gps. yesturday i compar my xperia whit motonav whit a myo gipies whit igo software and there are not diference.
How to setup resolution???

As he said the Motonav its the replacement for higher resolution phones with nice interface. Some people found it a bit laggy but i am very satisfied with it .
I totally recommend it.

ey, ive tried igo and motonav on my x10 but its a pain to setup and even then it runs laggy almost same as on windows mobile, on android the best gps app ive found to be Copilot Live, its beautiful looking easy to use and fully functional with a quick gps satellite pickup. i recommend looking into it, pm me if you want the apk but the maps you gotta download yourself over wifi, bear in mind i live in australia and the maps file was 100mb and took me better half of 30min to download even with fast connection i guess phone limitations and server

I have just installed Skype on my rooted HTC Tattoo but I can't login. It always shuts down on login screen. I saw that it will only work on devices with display resolution higher then 400 and something x 320 pixels.
Are there any chances that someone will change this in the near future?

with sqrom i can login but the app is so big for the tattoo ...
I couldn't even login. IMO problem is screen resolution and I just wanted to know if that is fixable. My friend installed it on Desire and it looks pretty cool.

Skype for x10 Mini works pretty fine for Tattoo. I've downloaded it about month ago from seclub.org
Small variaty of android phones support skype, nothing for the little Tattoo

Guys, Skype version from android marketplace is working just fine for me with Tattoo over 3G. I can't check if it is working fine through WiFI because I browse the internet over proxy network.

Ive tryed nimbuzz but its too slow an voise transfers have many lags.
i am from Cyprus but I am currently studying in the UK..
Do you want to extract the .apk file and send it to you?
It's working just fine with 3G and SPQR rom. I can't try it with wifi because my university requires proxy settings and the proxy settings in the rom are only for the default browser.

I've recently installed Co-Pilot navigation software on my Xperia X10 running on Android 2.1. But I was surprised to note that all the maps can be downloaded except Asia map. Need some help here. Would be grateful of someone could tell me of any other way to download or hack the Asia map, please.

I'm using mapdroyd. It's free and has plenty of maps around the world (two downsides yet: 1. It doesn't have a tool to search for an address or a point of interest. 2. It doesn't support active navigation -i.e. it won't tell you to turn right or left in the next street-).

I see RMaps is not mentioned here yet. I use it when I'm out of the country and want to quickly find out where I am, it can use offline maps downloaded on a PC (stored in some kind of sql database file which speeds things up a lot!), navigation works when there is data connection available, offline maps do support POI's and they can be edited/added/removed on-the-go.
Map downloads support Google maps, MS maps, Yahoo maps, Yandex Maps etc.
Also supports map orientation (direction/compass)
Not ideal for use while driving, but rules for traveling on foot! ^_^
For me,the only app that works wherever/whenever
I need it using only GPS On (Data Tranfer Disabled) is iGo,so far!
I ll try some others and post the results here!

Im using Navigon...Its a gread offline gps...Ofc its a paid app....google it
for all gps offline....N-Drive,Igo Myway,Papago,sygic

just read yesterday about the cloudon app (a virtualised microsoft office) - it suppose to be available for android 3 and 4 in the us and uk. i am in the UK and have JJ ICS rom on the ARC S but market doesnt give me the option to download this apk

This is not true, i have Photoshop touch for tablets on Xperia ARC and working great, you can download apps from aptoide and must testing
Works great on my TF101.
