dev competition - disabling headset remote - Hero, G2 Touch Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello developers,
You are simply great. You make a lot of nice stuff day by day. Thanks all of you!!!
My question:
Can someone of you disable the hero receiving signals from the headset. Even if I use simple earphones, when I stand up, or turn my body, the music stops, the phone calls the latest called person.
Can somebody do it?
Roland

You can use a different music player from the market. As far as I know not every app reacts to remote commands

You should edit your /etc/bluez/audio.conf file
[General]
Enable=Sink,Headset,Gateway,Source
Disable=Control
This SHOULD work, but you've gotta test it.

@klaus27
it's a good idea
but it still makes calls

EVERY ROM has it.
just adb pull it, and re-push it, then reboot.
Or you can edit in place, just remount /system/ as rw, open the file in nano, and that's it.

Try /system/etc/bluez/audio.conf
/system/etc is the real location of the etc folder. /etc/ is a symlink to /system/etc, and maybe it's not there in all ROMs.
EDIT: Although, I'm not 100% sure changing the bluetooth settings will affect a plug-in headset.

I found it, thanks
I'm editing it right now

It didn't work. : I
The remote still works, and it drops calls if I move while calling
Is there any way to redirect music to bluetooth? That would solve everything.

the file looks like this now:
# Configuration file for the bluez audio plugin (A2DP)
[General]
Enable=Source,Gateway,Sink,Headset
Disable=Control
# Switch to master role for incoming connections (defaults to true)
#Master=true
# Just an example of potential config options for the other interfaces
[A2DP]
SBCSources=1
MPEG12Sources=0
[AVRCP]
InputDeviceName=AVRCP
Is it okay like this?

just buy a set of headphones off eBay for a quid.sorted

I have one and I love it
but it does the same, even if it has no remote
I sit down, stand up, turn around and it drops calls, stops music etc.

what developer can help me to disable it?
it is so stupid. I bought this phone not really cheap, and now I have to buy an mp3 player?!
android is opened
I'm sure, that somebody can help me.
I pay 10$ for the person, who solves it. Exactly: I can listen to music on my wired earphones without changing to the next, calling somebody or dropping call by itself.

I have never had that, but with the apple inear headphones clicking the center button twice made it call the last person in the call list but " Meridian Player conservative " has an option to turn on the controls for the player so now double clicking the middle changes the song! Give it a try
Hoped this helped

If I understand exactly, you use simple headphones WIRED, no BT.
And, try you another headphones? Or problem is in HERO. Some broke down in jack connector?
What original firmware? Same problem?
I use koss plugin with hero fw htc, sensehero1.6 and now with Androbin, without problem.
With my previous phone i have similar problem with hands-free headphones with "call button".

I have sensehero 1.6 on the device and it is the same with the original headset or my simple philips earphones.
But I'll try the meridian player : )

It's not a bug. That's just how it is with the X10.
Ok.. thank you very much...

Been using the X10 with the MW600 for 3 months now.
You can:
-be synched to your laptop and when you receive a call, the phone will take over.
-listen to radio and answer calls.
-See the phone number of whomever is calling you.
-double press the talk button to redial last outgoing contact.
-Use the play, rewind and forward buttons to control mediascape.
You can't:
-See the name of the contact even if it is saved in your phonebook.
-See the name of the track.
The two can'ts are what stands the mw600 out, but I honestly do not regret getting it as for it has decent audio transmission. Plus, there is a chance of this all being fixed after update by SE

I use a mac, so I don't know if this will hold true for you as well. When I use the MW600 as a "headset" the audio quality diminishes, but when I use it as "stereo headphones", the audio quality is great.
Its all in the profiles...

This is essentially true for all bluetooth capable PCs as well. In bluetooth terminology the term "headset" and "headphones" refer to what is called as bluetooth profiles. More info here:
https://secure.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/wiki/Bluetooth_profile
The "headphones" or the Advanced Audio Distribution Profile (A2DP) is designed to provide high quality audio (stereo or mono) transmission capabilities between two bluetooth capable devices. Hence, the difference that you notice.

Just a quick dumb question: Can I use the X10's charger to charge the MW600? I am going on a trip soon and just want to carry one charger. Thanks.

Yes, you can use either or.
MW600 also works fine with spotify. Recommend the AKG K 450 headset with the short cable
With android 2.1 the x10 will be able to show track names and caller names as it doesn't lack the blutooth profiles which android 1.6 doesn't have.

afaik, there is no specific profile for displaying music track names, but caller ID work off the phonebook access profile (PBAP). so i'm guessing music track titles work off the phone's pbap as well?
I've just got mine, the quality is really good.
Additional bad points for me:
Mediscape: I can use the play/pause & skip tracks on the video, but doesn't work on the music !?
No "hold" on the buttons, as I keep accidentally touching the volume controls as volume control is touch sensitive
I haven't tried the voice activated calling though...

Weird.. it worked for the music for me.
for the touch sensitive volume button, you should hold it, not swipe it if you want to use the pause/play/next/prev buttons. it shouldn't that hard.
Mine definitely doesn't work with the music (in Mediascape), only with the video...
When I press on any of the 3 buttons:
PREVIOUS KEY / PLAY-PAUSE KEY / NEXT KEY
the light either side of middle button of the x10 lights up, but that's it.
I'm on standard R2BA020 (yeah, I tried switching it off and on again = didn't fix it!)
- also tried SEUS, it said no update for me - followed instructions (including taking the battery out etc)
I've only got one other music app = tuneWiki = the buttons work on that.
So, for me, Must be something wrong with Mediascape's Music program
== Quick Update ==
I've just rooted my x10i / debranded it, and managed further update the firmware (via SEUS) to R2BA026
= Still no joy on the playback controls for Mediascape's Music.
I've resetted the Headset
= Still no joy on the playback controls for Mediascape's Music.
Hope the next major update will fix this for me...
Instead of using the headphones can you activate the speaker phone to listen to the radio?
i just got my mw600 today. I havent used it for the gf's x10 yet (im in charge of the phone, she's just the end user) but it works fine on my k790a. It displays the name of the caller, the song titles and all the buttons work as suggested.
Im curious as to why this old ass phone from 2006 is capable of doing all this while the flagship x10 cant....

[Q] Car Dock Mode: Output voice calls through speaker

I use the Samsung official SGS2 Car dock with an audio cable to my car DVD sytem. When navigating with Google Maps and playing music the phone routes the audio to my car speakers. That's working good.
When I have an incoming call my ringtone comes over the speaker, but when I accept the call the voice is being routed over my phone-speakers.
Is there a custom ROM / mod / app who can fix this?
Bonus question: Why can't the SGS2 use the top 3.5 mm as a video output for my DVD player? Even the Nokia n95/n97 could do this. Anyone?
Thanks
Someone ? Thnx
Dont think anyone knows the answer right ?
Try to go into Bluetooth settings, there you can find all your authorized devices. Long tap on your car device will bring you into services list. Check or uncheck required services. Probably it will help you.
Hello,
i have the same problem.... some a answer for this?
only Calls over the internal speaker.. other sounds over the car-system.
hope some rom could fix this.
facing same prob.
i read somethink and some developers told that, the kernal must root the audio to the docking station.... its a app in the market for this, but its dosn`t work....
i think its the same problem like the galaxy 1...

I have tried just using the standard sound recorder app but all I get is recording through normal mic.
Yes, you can do this. I suspect your problem is in your PCs mixer setup. If you are using Windows, different versions have different ways of getting there, but typically thru Control Panel, Sounds & Audio Devices. Select Mixer Device: audio input for your sound card. You will get a set of controls for each input device. You can select the one you want to use and adjust its volume. I suspect you may be set to use line input but connecting to mic or something like that. It's easiest to check if you use a microphone and audio source (e.g., CD player) for "test" sources and playing with controls til you get recording ok. Then plug you mobile into the same jack.
Good Luck.

Frankly, I don't need it, but just out of curiosity I tried using the standard voice recorder with a mic on a stock headset, and it worked perfectly. So, as long as you have a mic properly connected to your audio socket, you should be all good to go. "Regular" mic will not work, as it has a different connector pinout. Basically, your 3.5mm jack wiring should be like this (starting from the tip, going towards the cable): L-Out | R-Out | GND | Mic. This is the standard pinout used in most phones, including Sammy. On Nokia handsets and some old phones GND and Mic are reversed.
Excuse my bumping, but surely someone has a definitive answer and doesn't mind sharing it with me?

Oh, that's what you are trying to do... OK, it's clear now. In this case, the answer is most definitely negative -- the phone's audio connector only has a microphone mono input. I don't believe such combo connectors (with stereo out and stereo in) even exist in 3.5 mm standard... I personally have never seen one, or heard of it.

Problem with music listening

I`ve a problem with listening to music on my L9. I use Poweramp player. When I set the volume full to show the information about a fact that is not healthy blah blah blah ... and after a few minutes of listening to disconnect the headphones. Plug it in again, I set the volume almost full, and again the same problem. Headphones work fine. In winamp I do not have this problem. How do I fix this?

No, it`s not. I tried on other headphones and it is still the same. At maximum volume phone stops see headphones-I do not know how to precisely call it. Just disconnects. On the polish android forum I've seen that not only I have a problem with that, however, no one can find a solution.

Headphones should work, also the crappy Headset coming with the phone.
I encountered similar problems with a headset and a multimedia headphone adapter for Symbian phones.

First thing first.....How is built-in LG Music is doing? Is it working fine with speakers and headphones, etc?
Maybe he's talking about the volume limiter? Whenever you plug in something to the headphone jack, it pops up a notice about restricting volume and/or listening to volume at high levels can cause injury. I know that when plugging the L9 into something as a line-out, I have to crank the volume to max AND crank the volume of whatever speaker/device it's attached to.
For comparison, running the same app and music via a bluetooth media device the volume is equal to that of my iPhone. AKA: it sounds "normal." So it's using some sort of volume limiter on the 3.5mm out as far as I can tell, and I haven't been able to find a way around it. Though I haven't been looking too hard.
There´s this auto-volume-down mechanism, which allows to re-up the volume to max afterwards. But also the phone (P760) seems to follow the EU regulation, which is obligatory for toys only. Volume set to max is still not loud enough for me, as with my Nokia phones. But with Poweramp and Music Folder Player you can get a bit of extra juice, which is sufficient to me. For rooted devices there´s an app to directly control the Linux ALSA sound interface, but I won´t need that.

How to get alarms/notifications in speaker if headphones plugged in.

Hello Fellas!
Recently i started to listen to music/audiobooks before i go to sleep,
the problem is that in android 4.2/4.1 even with clock apps that tries to force audio through speaker (at least on my phone) only plays the audio through the headphones which has fallen of during night.
So i though i should make an post instructing how i got the alarm to play through the speaker even with the headphones connected.
the answer is Soundabout combined with Tasker (you could probably use other automation tools as well)
1. download soundabout free from market.
2. set Media Audio to speaker.
3. force close soundabout.
4. Download Tasker (which is a paid app but is well worth the money) (or other automation tool)
4a. go to settings and untick beginner mode.
5. Download and place "userbackup.xml" in the "tasker" folder in the root of your sdcard
userbackup.xmll
6. Open tasker, press the menu button --> data --> restore.
This hack will open soundabout at 6am if the headphones are plugged in, if you are rooted it will also force kill soundabout when you unplug.
NOTE: if you have any profiles allready you should make a backup and add my profile at the bottom of your "userbackup.xml."
Hope this helps!
Best Regards
Thanks
No problem, the only problem is that you have to force close the app every single day though,
i emailed the developer of soundabout about this and he said he would try to make a tasker plugin to make this easier!
Hey guys.
Any update on this?
Thanks
Alan
I dont get it... Soundabout runs a service, so it should be able to force audio through speakers without the need to fc it and start it via Tasker
But the fact is that it does not work on my phone. I have a headset plugged at all times and I just miss all calls
It is said that music apps can prevent soundabout from routing audio through speakers.. i am still testing, will post if I come to a conclusion on what music app does not bring this issue
I ****ing hate those ****tards at google who thought they should change that... since the beginning of time, call and sms alerts always went to speaker regardless the headset is plugged

I guess you dont have to fc, but i atleast had to force everything to the speaker. So the easiest way to get the sound back to my earplugs was to force close it.
The updated version does it automaticly so im good for now
Will pay $ for tasker script.
Hi to all of You.
I would like to have profile that force incoming call ringing and notifications to speaker when wired headphones with mic is plugged but not media sounds like YouTube or games, media sounds should be played only by wired headphones with mic.
I am willing to pay some reasonable amount of $ for person, who will write such tasker script for me.

Audio through external speaker with headphones plugged in - Tasker
Any better solution found for this yet? I would like to get tasker to still play audio through the external speaker when the headphone jack is plugged in. I would prefer not to use another app for this, just a tasker profile.
I just received a pressy like headphone button but it mutes the external audio since the phone thinks headphones are plugged in. The apps available for the Klick buttom don't seem too trust worthy or functional. I still want to use it to keep the dust out of the jack but not miss all the audio calls and notifications. A simple tasker profile to accomplish this would be great.
Any ideas?

also with Xprivacy you can change and give permission to prevent soundabout from changing speaker after, or there are many other permissions it's asking for.
Couldn't dig deeper, but may give an idea to someone.
I had a similar issue, except in my case I use a wired handset with my phone and I wanted notifactions to sound through the phone speaker rather than through the handset. My solution was to use the Automate app with the configuration attached. Plugging the handset mutes the notification, then on SMS received it plays a sound, with the output stream set as "ring" so it sounds through the phone speaker.
As far as I'm aware, it's not possible to play audio through two streams simultaneously- don't cross the streams...
I'm using a Sony Z3 with LineageOS, but I guess this should work with any android compatible with the current version of Automate.
