Ouch that sucks you really should have made a backup copy of you SD card before formatting it. If you are talking about the Transformer movies if you are lucky you might can get someone to compress and e-mail you the movies. Or you could try going to your local T-Mobile store and see if they can take the SD card out of a new HD2 and copy the movies from it to your SD card. Last option is if your HD2 is still under warranty you could try to get them to send you a replacement SD card by telling them it is faulty, the replacment would have the movies on it.
Edit: You can also try to find a torrent site to download them from.
you wont find links to them on this site, they are warez as soon as they leave the sd card, , however they deffinately are available as mentioned above as torrents or from rapidshare and the like.

How about a data recovery program, "Recuva" (free) has saved many files after a format for me, if quick scan doesn't work, try full scan, takes some time, but works for restoring deleted data.
In so cal, the HD2's were taken out of inventory a month ago. After my phone froze, they tell me to come into their corporate store for an in store warranty exchange. Only to find out not 1 store in so cal had one.
T Mobile may have the best customer service, but their knowledge is going to sh!t.
Ask 3 different employees the same question, and you'll probably get 3 different answers. My experience in the last 2 years from being a 10 year customer.

Yes, luckily.
Touch screen stopped responding randomly, went completely out within 2 days.
Called T Mobile store(same 1 that's always solved my problems) employee said to bring my phone into the store, they will swap it out for me.
Go to the store, ask about the in store warranty exchange for HD2, guy smiles at me, "we took those out of our stores a month ago."
?? I was just told to bring in my HD2 because you can swap it out. They say call customer care.
Call customer care, tell them I've ran through troubleshooting, updating stock rom, same touch screen problems. They say they'll ship it express, waive the fee, and it'll be there friday.
Friday comes and goes, Saturday ask them where my package is. They say they don't know, I say thats ridiculous. 4 calls and 4 different employees later, they still have no idea where my phone is, even though it DID process.
I ask them what can they do, they remove the shipping charge for express, which also was going to automatically be credited once the phone DID ship. Okay, -20 dollars off my bill.
I plead come sunday they overnight me my phone, they said FRIDAY I would have it, they guaranteed it because I called them at 7am monday, before cut-off, but alas, they do not overnight shipping, only Assurion(phone insurance does). All this other jargon about not being able to double process an order till after 7 days of initial order. Utter BS.
Needless to say, Monday morning, theres my package with OVERNIGHT delivery on the label. Flashed the phone back to stock, swapped it out and I'm back in business.
Called them to have them credit the week I did not have my phone, 13 more dollars off. Login to my account, see that the other 20 dollar express charge came off.
So, they paid me 33 dollars in the end, + free OVERNIGHT Shipping(which they said they couldn't do) for an HD2 that I bought secondhand off craigslist. Luckily the warranty transfers over, mines still good till Oct. 2011.
Really, got lucky, who would think the warranty is transferrable, thought I was screwed.
scariola you were pretty lucky. I had the same issue as SharkBait Ha, i accidentally formatted my sd card with all my default folders and Transformers Movies, so then i called HTC 1(888)356-2375. i told a representative from HTC that my SD Card gave me a lot of issues. within 3 min they told me that there where sorry about the SD Card and i was going to get a new SD Card within 3-4 days. sure enough 3 days when by and i received a new 16GB Samsung Class 2.
Anyone know if this is compatible with the Amaze?
Just curious if anyone has actually tried it.

Haven't tried it but for what I hear and understand it won't work.
That's what I thought. Too bad! Woulda been nice to have 64gb of music and videos on my phone!
There has been report on Android Community that indeed this new SDXC cards works on many devices - both old and new phone, tablet (SGII, SGS, HTC Sensation ... )
http://androidcommunity.com/sandisk...working-on-multiple-android-devices-20110927/
On Sony
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1339600
Eee Pad
64Gb
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1278950
Some other devices also confirmed works with even the 128Gb SDXC card
128Gb
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1342699
Gathering infos from those link, it seems like one will have to using the phone to format (aka erase the card from inside the phone) the card and in some case, formatted it to NTFS
Some time ago while i still had htc sensation there was a post about it and 64 gb worked but not the 128gb. I assume its the same for the amaze but dont takemy word for it search the forums. From what i found the galaxy note cant use 128 gb one

If anyone has knowledge of what works on the Amaze please let us know!
Guess we're just going to have to wait for someone to buy one of those 64 or 128 cards and find out. I went ahead and bought a 32gb card last week before I even saw this post. Too bad, if I'd have known there was a possibility that the 64 would work, I would've gotten that one.

I use Google music but then again you need data connection and it uses bandwidth. Not a big music listener. I'm more of a photo person hence the amaze.
I thought the Amaze accept 32GB max.
how could you use 64GB, is there any way how to bypass this limit ?
if it worked on the sensation why wouldnt it on the amaze?

That was my plan. I have some Best Buy gift cards but unfortunately they are sold out. If the price stays the same when they are back in stock I may do it.
I get paid this Thursday and I was going to get a 32 but if anyone can find the 64 in stock by then I will give it a shot and let everyone know if it works
Does Bestbuy have a restocking fee?
I would try it but I hardly use the entire 32gb on my existing card so don't really have a need for it.
Maybe if someone worked at a place that sold them and they could just try it out. Maybe that's asking a lot though.

I don't believe there's a restocking free on sd cards...just computers, tablets, tvs.. not small stuff...a quick call would suffice.
works perfectly
Hey y'all,
I noticed some wondering about this card.
So I got mine from Amazon, class10 64mb sdxc
When I first put it in, notification said card error.
Then it prompted me to reformat.
I let the amaze reformat her and now I've got 60 gb free showing in the settings apk under storage.
Just wanted everyone to feel confident I'd they want to spend the money, several vendors addy amazon do have the cards in stock now.
Good luck!
i may have to end up ordering one
I've returned a 32Gb PNY card about two weeks ago from BestBuy and there is no restocking fee charged.

Yeah, cause I've heard many many MANY stories about people buying MP3 players and SD cards from China saying a certain size, and when you plug it into the computer, it says the same thing, but really is half or a quarter of the size. Those Chinese are always ****ing with us in the states.

u have to know this is a fake right? Its probably only 4 GB.
Ordered a couple of "original" Kingston 16GB microsd cards from China.
Most of them are f*ucked one way or the other. Wrong size meaning it fails when you pass the real size limit. Others lose all data when powercycling, turn on/off. Others just don't work in cell phones but work on PCs. Then there are combinations of the above...
Good luck!
Yep, don't go for it. It's so easy for these Chinese resellers to take a 2gb card, paint a 3 in front of the 2, and make it look like a 32gb card.
99% sure that's fake. I just got a class 4 32gb from amazon and I can't tell much of a difference from my class 10 smaller card. Reads are really similar
Sent from my PG86100 using XDA App
The same seller has a 64gb microsdxc card for $18.88 - they retail at Best Buy for $199 regularly and the cheapest I've seen online is $150. One guy here in XDA said he found one for $99 at Best Buy not too long ago, but even if $99 was the going rate, that's still an 80% discount.
So yeah, definitely seems too good to be true if you ask me.

Hopefully I'll be able to do the same if such a situation occurs. Ordered one this morning out of blind excitement.
Never buy from china.. Even if its 32 gb it won't even last a week. Trust me I bought tons of stuff from ebay (shipped from china)...
Chances are that it will be fake. And to get your money back, you probably will have to pay to ship it back - costing you as much as if you just ate the cost of the card.
I know from experience... Was worth the chance and found out that I just donated to some Chinese guy's new car.
here's the test, make a rar archive 20gb+ in size and split the files into any size less than 3gb. transfer all the files on to the sdcard, then transfer them off. transfer them back on and off again. then try unraring. if it falls, you got scammed, if it passes then send it to guinness as the first sdcard purchased at a massive discount that wasn't a fraud
Just chiming in, I had a decent quality Class 10 (Lexar) and it sucked for any application that did caching to it (decent amount of them). I'm much much happier with my Sandisk class 4. Random access small file performance is MUCH better. No lag
Hello all sgs2 owners, would you considder this for a sgs2? im not asking you to actually sell me one, wrong place for that just want to know if it's worth it:

Sandisk 8gb SD card £5-10

And I'll throw in £15 ($23.8)
Jvc in ear headphones £20

Well i was just asking for people's opinions if it was actually worth it as you own one. I've tried it on gumtree.com, basically like ebay, and I had to text them all or e-mail them, wait like 4 days for a reply which would be 'cash only'. This is the real only other alternative.
As stated before, wrong place and I suspect maybe a mod will come and delete this, but the phone is great! I would dare say the BEST phone out in the market now (or on par with galaxy nexus & note).
*but being as it is used, make sure you can test it all out first and they can guarantee you a refund within a week or 2 if there is any major problems.
**so bring a notebook with you to test it's working with usb, etc too.
So I got a Samsung 32GB class 10 MicroSD card off eBay for my soon to ship AT&T Samsung Galaxy S3 and I ran some tests on it and got some weird results and I'm wondering if I got an el-fako. It was a bulk packaged one (ie just in an adapter case holder).
I ran h2testw and got results lower than I was expecting (like 15 read/6 write) but that didn't bother me too much. But then I tried to run CrystalDiskMark; I didn't realize that selecting 5 made it run the tests 5 times and it was taking forever, so I left it running when I went to bed. When I woke up it was frozen on Random Write 4KB (QD=32) [1/5] hitting stop did nothing and I couldn't close the program or even end the process in task manager. When I went into the disk in my windows explorer it froze windows explorer and then I couldn't do anything really involving the SD card. I even had to cold power down the system since attempting to shut down within the OS did nothing.
Now today running CrystalDiskMark it ran the first 7 tests fairly quickly on 1 iteration and then it's again stuck on the last test Random Write 4KB (QD=32) [1/1]. Or at least it's been doing that test for like a half hour with no change and as mentioned overnight it didn't get past it so I doubt waiting will do anything for me. A screenshot of the results so far are attached.
Now having said that, I am using the built-in 7in1 card reader in a 4 year old dell Vostro 1700 so it wouldn't surprise me if the reader couldn't handle the top speeds of the card or even if it freezing up was the fault of the reader but I am concerned. Anyone have any thoughts?
Ebay fake Samsung SD cards
I had the same issue. 15 R/ 6 W, when class 10 clearly should be constant speeds of 24 Read and 13 Write. Brought from ebay seller moe_122 for £19.99 32GB Class 10 Samsung Micro SD.
I tried this both on my laptop card reader and my PC, using both the SD card adapter and a standalone USB Micro SD card reader.
I then checked out images of some available from Amazon and they are clearly different. Genuine mSD shown on Amazon had writing on back, whereas the one I'd received was blank.
I have today, emailed them requesting a replacement, they instead offered a full refund. the only thing is now I have the S3 but no micro SD card, and I have to post it back to them. They tried to say that I was liable for return postage but I was not having it. In the end I just escalated to ebay resolution center and they begrudging agreed to refunding me the postage.
I just brought one from amazon for £19.99 with free super saver delivery.
Thank me if you found this useful.
This is why you never buy Sd-Cards from ebay!!
Try Amazon, I'd recommend Sandisk also

Yeah mine has writing on the back and it matches every picture I've seen so far. I know that doesn't really indicate anything re: fake/bad but it's at least not an obvious fake.
This will be my first time ever having an issue with an eBay purchase if it is one and the buyer has 99.99% positive on like 80k deals so I'm sure worst case I get a replacement or a refund. I'm not too worried about it; it's just annoying if in fact it is a bad card/fake. I would have bought from Amazon but at the time I ordered they didn't have any good deals and the eBay price was like $10-$15 cheaper. Of course since then there have been a couple deals at the same or better pricing. If it turns out this one is going back I'll probably try and be patient and pick up a 64gb sandisk if they drop to ~$50-$60 again soon.
Hm...
Argh... as a noob i cannot yet post link to the photo of mSD card on amazon.
I too have had positive experiences with ebay so far, but when it comes to things like this, I guess it is better to go with a reputable seller like Amazon.
Go into your phone shop dealer and see what cards they sell there.

Hey Erikk, I am having the same exact problem as you, I am using the card reader in my new laptop and my card is benching much higher as it should be but when I am getting to the same test it gets frozen on Random Write 4KB (QD=32) [1/5] and nothing happens I can't end process, I have to cold power down like you as well. I know for a fact the microSD card I got is not a fake because I compared with other real samsung 32gb mircosd cards. I got mine at a MicroCenter. I don't know what to do at this point because the card is fantastic as far as speed is concerned it just gets stuck at that part...
Appreciate help from anyone that knows a possible solution, returning it may be the only option but I have a hard time believing the card it self is defective.
There are so many fake cards on eBay it's not even funny. I got burned once and will never buy there again. I'd rather pay a little more at my local store, at least then I have the peace of mind of being covered by consumer protection laws.
Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk 2
UPDATE: Booting into safe mode did the trick, I no longer get frozen on Random Write 4KB (QD=32) [1/5] ALSO my speeds seem to have improved some more as well. lol :victory: No defect with the card after all, just something was not working well with crystaldiskmark in the normal OS environment.
I just don't get why people spend £500 on the best phone available then go to Ebay to find the cheapest card they can possibly find.

Always get a good quality card reader, dont compare the cheap and nasty one's with a branded one, you won't get the same results.

Cos they just spent all their money on a $700 phone....
I went to eBay because it was cheap enough that I really didn't care if I got burned on a fake card (plus with all the paypal/ebay protections the burn would only be the annoyance of disputing the charge). I am now fairly certain it's not a bad or fake card; in the S3 antutu reads it with the correct speeds. I think it was just the 5 year old multi-card reader built into my laptop that was having issues.
So either way, I'm happy now with my card.
I'm normally very careful, but I made the mistake of buying some "Sandisk" SD cards from Ebay.
They looked absolutely perfect, the welded plastic packaging was flawless, yet sadly they turned out to be fake.
A typical scam is to reprogram and rebrand cheaper, smaller capacity, slower or otherwise low quality cards as pass them off as high quality brands.
Often everything seems OK until the card is part-used, when files start to corrupt. Of course, often by the time this becomes apparent, the seller has scarpered.
If the price looks too good to be true, it often really is too good to be true.
Well the seller I bought from has been an ebay member since 99, has 80k+ ratings and 99.9% positive feedback, so hopefully I won't have that happen. But yes SD cards are definitely one of the riskier items to buy off ebay.
Best tool to test SD for fakes is called H2testw. I have bought one fake on eBay, and seller also had 99% positive feedback. I guess people buy 32GB card and never get past the 1GB or 2GB by the time they leave the positive feedback. If you pass the real space everything will be corrupted. So you really never know until you try to get data out of the SD to use it. Try that tool and it will full the SD card and then read it back.

I'm sure you are exactly right about the typical Ebay scam.
I watched one seller who had vast amounts of sales and great feedback.
They suddenly flooded the listings with vast numbers of "Kingston" brand cards at silly low prices.
Nothing happened for a while, then suddenly the bad feedback started to roll in on that supplier about corrupt data. Of course, all the cards had been sold. Seller vanished without trace.

Yeah my card passed H2testw. It just came back with speeds I thought were too low for what the card should have been capable of. With the tests I've run with the phone itself I think those slow tests were just indicative of the crap reader my ancient laptop has. So I guess I got lucky in the eBay crapshoot.
