Hi guys,
Looking at geting a new phone, its between the desire, hd2 and the x10.
One question i have is:-
When i had the xperia 1, one thing that annoyed me was the screen was recessed and not level so it was hard to use your fingers around the edge of the phone.
Does the X10 still have this or is it flat like the touch hd?
also, i would ask what phone you would suggest, but as i am on the x10 forums, i know what the answer will be
Many thanks,
Stuart
I had the x1 and I know exactly what you mean, you ll be glad to hear that the x10 does NOT have a recessed screen, it's sits flat with the rest of the phone.
Yeah, the capacitive screen is flat. Thank god. And as I've said in other threads, the reason I chose the X10 over the Desire is the screen (a bit bigger and a bit higher resolution with 16:9 aspect ratio) and the looks of it (the camera is just a big bonus!)!
The screen is completely smooth, so there isn't any problem with the borders. My dad has hd2 but it was repaired twice because once the main board was getting overheated and the phone rebooted while charging and having navigation on. The second time it was repaired because after pressing turn off button (screen) the touchscreen won't respond. Although the phone has been repaired after 5 days. As long as you have warranty you can use hd2. With my x10 I NEVER had problems

Thanks
33 views and no one has an answer, i need to make sure this IS what i need before i buy it.. and id like to buy it as soon as possible if it is the right thing
yes that is definitely what you need!
That should solve your problems. The price was not that bad either, but these displays are getting old now, so that is more or less expected. Changing it should not be that complicated, I have not tried the X10 myself, but it seems similar to other phones i have changed. Undo the right screws, and then connect one or two connectors and you are done.
Cheers, will get that then
I recently stepped on mine and shattered the screen the best way for help is the x10 disassembly guide on this forum. Am afraid there is no easy way it requires a full diassembly.
Was suprisingly easy the second time after forgeting to fit the power button back in lol.
Good luck
sent from a x10i with every romu could imagine. thanks to the devs z , j , t , w , r. much respect.
Sadly my X10 has come to an end. Its been one of the best things I've owned over the past 6 months. But its current state has just made me give up on it
From what was a tiny small crack in the screen has now ended in me getting rid of the phone.
I replaced the digitizer but when doing so scraped off the doublesided glue, so waited another 3 weeks for that to come from overseas.
After finally arriving and damaged the LCD putting it back together. So waited more weeks for that to come. The new LCD is good, I boot the phone to notice the screen goes from 256k colours (looked ****) to normal - almost every time I touch the screen. I investigate to find the replacement digitizers ribbon cable which is attached to the glass has come off. Im putting it down to being faulty as so much care and love was put into putting it back togeather. Im not going to bother ordering a new one.
The last 3 months I've been without it, so its time to move on. Funny enough my girlfriend who hated her x10 since day one (yes we had matching x10's) was given an iphone so I'm taking hers.
As I speak, it sits in front of me in bits and I am seriously over trying to fix it. Its black too.
Dont let your child die
I was thinking of giving it one last go, but I woke up thinking the digitizer cable being broken wouldnt have been causing the bad screen colour. That would have to be LCD related..
So its definately all over with now!
buy a superamoled display from the SGS
oh man, its awful to hear that.
all parts are available if anyones interested
Helo.Sorry for my english but i want to ask, you have all the parts off the phone? My x10 usb is broken and i cant recharge. The motherboard is that im interested.Do you sell it?
Hello.
I wanted to know if you have some spare parts from X10 (Ear Piece Speaker Flex Cable and Keypad Button Flex Cable).
Thank you.
im really interested about the motherboard, you still got it?
Is your phone still up for grabs? Please PM me.
Regards
K
hey.
hey fellow brent I hope everything goes ok with your x10.
Good Day folks, here is the long and short of it.
Galaxy s 2 fell and the screen broke
I bought a new screen
Replaced the screen BUT two big problems occured.
1. The screen appears to have less colours than my original screen
2. NONE OF THE SOFT KEYS WORK, HOME, MENU AND BACK DO NOT WORK.
Number 2. is the big problem. Does anyone have any idea how these buttons work?
Even when I press the buttons directly with my fingers with the buttons off they still do not work.
Im baffled. Please help.
I also have attached pictures of the button area
It happened to me, I removed the screen, I replaced from beginning and it worked...
Hi Collado, do the white things behind the buttons have any electronic functionality or are those just things to make it stick?
To all future readers. I found out what the problem was. Basically,
The home, back and menu keys are all connected to a single ribbon. It appears there is a tiny piece, connected via the back key. That was torn while i was ripping off the the screen and digitizer.
See the picture attached
How much did you pay for your replacement screen and where did you get it. My digitizer is broken due to a drop. My front glass is perfect but the digitizer is completey shot. How difficult was this project?
Hi Johnboy
I cant remember the price of the digitizer offhand but make a check on ebay.. that is where i got it.
Difficulty is high as you need the minature tool set to do this effectively and a gentle touch.
However, it still appears as though the screen I bought has less colours.
Sorry to jump in and unintended hijack
I also dropped my S2 and cracked the screen, and after checking around dropped it in to the Geek Squad at CPW. Who duly replaced the screen and digitizer for £80. Only problem is the screen seems less bright and if moved off the central viewing angle the screen dims, as if it wasa standard lcd and not the orginal AMOLED screen. Does anyone know if they make lesser screens or was it fitted badly.
Any advice greatly appreciated.
DM.
I would go back with it and complain. If you dont get satisfaction then do an impression of the guy that goes into the pizza shop in "rise of the foot-soldier" film.

Hey all,
In advance I am sorry if this post is in the wrong section, I noticed there isn't a section dedicated to my particular phone so I just guessed this would be the best of the worst.
So here's the problem. A few days ago my phone fell on the street and the LCD screen got distorted on the left side. It is kinda hard to explain but the problem is that the pixels of the left side of the screen refresh very slowly (if at all). The problem is worse when you get to the edges of the left side of the screen. I attached some pictures so you can see what exactly the problem is.
So obviously my phone needs to be repaired and I would like to do it myself but, as the noob that I am, I don't quite know "what" should or could be repaired.
So here is the first questions:
- If you look at the photo's, do you think the LCD screen is the only thing that is broken?
For the follow-up question is a bit of extra information required. My phone is a strange model so I actually can take out the LCD screen because it is not glued to the touch screen. I've done a bit of experimenting and I already took the phone apart quite easily and dismantled the LCD screen.
So here is the follow-up question:
Is there a way to repair the LCD screen (assuming that it is the only thing that is broken)? Or do I need to replace it?
Thanks in advance,
Tyred Mayfly
As per title, at certain angles in sunlight I see a matrix of dots on screen, is this normal, ie its just the multitouch matrix?
Is it common on Z2?
Got my Z2 yesterday, refurb phone via contract. It looks new so hope its normal
Yes it's normal.

It only come time to time if u think about it, you cant compare 1 display with another xD
So as I am walking with my phone, sun behind me I get lines of bright dots going up and down the screen. So annoying!!!
yup, I was wondering about that as I've had a g2 and m7 before, but never seen this.
the screen seems fine however
It is in fact normal. It is for the capacitive touch screen. I had galaxy note and Omnia HD and they did not have something like this, but I know that HTC HD2 had it.
It's just digitizer (touch device). On some phones it's just more visible than on the others. You just have to get used to it.
its typical on slimmer xperias
had it on my xperia s and also both of my Z2s
