Hi all. As title, i'm searching a correct method to put working values of automatic backlight in a cm9 based rom.
At this very moment, i have this configuration:
Down Up Screen
0 14 20
15 149 35
150 224 45
225 499 70
500 999 80
1000 2999 100
3000 oo 250
does anyone have other values with more screen reactivity ?
I found also these, made by codeworkx:
0 19
6 23
9 26
14 30
20 34
30 39
46 45
68 51
103 59
154 67
231 77
346 88
519 101
778 116
1168 133
1752 152
2627 174
3941 199
5912 228
8867 250
does anyone have this on?
Already tried 3rd part apps like Lux but unhappy about it.
Thanks for all your answers.
now i have this setup:
anyone has one better than this?
My my phone seems to be rebooting randomly and at irregular intervals. there doesn't seem to be really a pattern to the reboots. Does anyone have a suggestion on how to troubleshoot this as to what the problem is.
Running SHOstock 3.

Without giving any information except the ROM you're running? Nota clue.

Click to collapse
Not sure if this helps, but mine's been doing some random rebooting on shostock3 2.5.6, never used to happen on previous versions.
I have tried different roms with the same results.
Not entirely sure what further information to post. Probably missed something in a sticky which I will go back and read again.

Your battery life must be really bad..
I have a qcell extended battery, does not seem too bad. Do you think that the battery is causing it? I used the standard battery to rule out the battery, and still have reboots.

I mentioned bad battery life because location services is causing massive wakelock on your device.
Honestly, with the current information you provided, it would be impossible for anyone to troubleshoot. The best thing you can do is to do a completely factory reset, and make sure not to restore any apps or install any apps. Let your phone run like that for a day or two and see if it is still rebooting. This will help determine if you have a hardware issue.
^ This plus I recommend a flash back to stock. That should rule out software issues and let you know if your hardware is having some issues.

Will flash back to stock tonight. Thank you for your help.
Flashed to stock, still reboots in stock. I think it is the power button that is screwed up. It is not turning on immediately, not turning off immediately, have to press power more than a couple of times. There seems the be a power button issue. My question is would a faulty power button cause reboots?

Yes, that seems to be frequently mentioned along with a faulty power button.

Battery cause of reboots?
This is strange I actually have two replacement batteries, not Original Samsung.
The default battery I can chare every hour. When I use the Phone. But it looks like the pone only very seldomly reboots, still it does sometimes.
That is the reason I bought replacement batteries, the ones I have last about 5x longer. So these batteries are much better!
But the Phone reboots clearly more often.
Of course I did delete my batterystats.
Maybe Samsung build in their system someting that detects it is not Original Samsung battery, problem is Samsung does not sell these batteries seperately.
It is typical Samsung to do someting like that! So I will NEVER buy Samsung again!
I clearly need a different rom for the GT-B5510, but there is none.
I swear samsung has built in someting that detects it is not a Samsung battery! And very sometimes it even triggers with the Original battery!
I really start to hate Samsung....

This all has not been the cause of my reboots.
When my phone still rebooted without an SD card and with stock rom and with default battery. I knew the phone had a defect.
I started bashing my phone with my knuckles a few good hard bashes.
The phone never rebooted again. It runs fine for days now not a single reboot!
That will teach the phone! LoL works all the time.....

At least you didn't crack your screen when you punched it lol I took my phone apart, sprayed wd40 on the power button, continuously clicked it for a minute, let it dry, and it has worked flawless since then.

Just for anyone else who reads this, don't spray wd40 inside your phone.

Hello there
Since the last days of trying nearly everything I found on the internet and this board, I decided to create my own thread. Hopefully you understand - nervs getting... forget it xD
I am running my sgs2 on paranoid android 2.54, siyah kernel. There are not too many apps active, of course battery lovers like Facebook (beta because of GCM) twitter, whatsApp ...
I got Greenify and the app is doin good work but more than 12% of battery usage in under a hour of active display? I am on my home wlan. ports 5222, 5223 and 5228 udp/tcp are open. Still the the gtalk wakelocks are insane!?
btw:: the screenies from above are from 93% state. Right now after writing this I am on 86%
What is wrong with my wakelocks? PLEASE help me
.. If I forgot any necessary information, and I am nearly sure I missed, please let me know.
greetings from austria & germany
---
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda app-developers app
No one? I tested nearly every app I have installed but didn't found the cause of the battery drain.
Would say I have a REALLY minimalistic and well configured droid. but the battery still lasts only a half day in normal use. or little more. depends on the usage.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda app-developers app
Without BetterBatteryStats logs/screenshots, you'll get minimal help with this. BBS is the default app many people here use to track down wakelocks/related drain. Get the app/install it, let it run for a couple of hours, pull the logs/screenshots & see what it throws up.
that is the reason why I added the wakelock detector screens. thought the app is similar to bbs!? hopefully you can see the screenies in the first post because I uploaded it via the official xda app for the first time.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda app-developers app
Heya! ^_^
I added the overnight statistics from bbs. 3g on. no wlan. but you can see that at the bottom right
I can't find any freak out information nevertheless, the first I would try to kick is the gtalk stuff. reconnect etc. no gtalk, hangouts or google now installed, must be gmail right?
why is there no bootloader information? thats normal or can this cause drains?!
what do you think guys? as I said.. I can't find the reason. in normal day usage, the battery drains as fast as light.

:good:
I read that thread 1 week before things went mad..
as you can see in my first post I added wakelock detector screens too. and in the one above : better battery stats.
but it is still a big problem. so I try to find a reason.maybe an app which is causing drain. freeze on freeze off. found no solution for now. mhmm.
:banghead:
The proprietary libs of Samsung / Qcom are really chatty, in fact way too chatty in my opinion.
I have edited 3 proprietary libs that were the most annoying. Method of replacing those lines with null:
1. strings 'binaryname'
2. copy string you want to remove
3. in hex editor (ghex, bless or wxd or so), control + f, search for string
4. replace with zeros
5. save
Should work on all s4 devices.
mpdecision (make poor decision) (/system/bin)
likes to spam unneeded up/down state changes, when phone is idle for example

sensors.msm8960.so (/system/lib/hw)
likes to say 'mCompEngine is NULL' very often for no reason. it spams non stop
Dont have the actual hexadecimal code that I removed on this one
Try running antutu benchmark before and after, the result is amazing
Very nice
Also, I'm fairly sure this could be applied to all devices not just jflte variants
Of course the msm8960 would change to $BOARD_TYPE but yeah

Thank you and that would be great. I currently run them in my rom and when you do a lot of logcat reading this really pleases your eyes / brain hehe.

Haha yeah I know what you mean, I'm porting stuff all the time so I'll definitely be doing this on my S3 libs and any others that like to spam junk into the log (surfaceflinger is another one that likes to spam)
If I can ever finish up with work I'll try this out. It seems very interesting. Thank you.

Ok thats nice :good: When something is closed source you have to deal with it the low level way i guess.
Luckily it's really easy to hex out strings safely when using the strings command and copying the exact string (if you still make a mistake which can happen pretty easily you will notice it very fast, namely that the file will not run)
if you shush all libs/binaries logcat will be a ghosttown in logcat terms

Ok cool, let me know if you succeeded if you want to do it
edit: added sed replacement commands, will make a prorietary lib cleaner very soon ^^ so everyone can easily silence them
Have been working on a proprietary libs cleaner, and it worked out pretty sweet. I have made it that users can add their own templates easily.
It works like this:
Main Script: PLC > has 3 subscripts called, database, patcher and picker.
Template system: Place file where it normally would be on your phone, for example, 3 binaries are added in there, one of them is mpdecision, which is placed in corresponding dir like on phone, unhide it to see whats inside, just all strings that need to be removed. line by line
rootdir/dbs/system/bin/mpdecision
