Dear fellow xda-ers
for months now (in fact, since I got my TD2 in october) I have been frustrated with how slow many of the ROM-downloads were (thank you RapidShare -.-) and how I could often only get one of a couple of ROMs I wanted to try at once.
Fortunately, recently many devs have started using multiupload to at least marginally improve the situation.
However, there are still very few who (can) offer high-speed downloads and so I have been working on a solution to help all you faithful users as well as the devs.
Using Wuala I have been creating a mirror for many of the recent ROM releases (mainly WWE versions) as well as some old verions which I have used and/or tried in the past.
Here you will be able to find a large collection of ROMs sorted by their author and series.

@all: Wuala offers direct links, however, it is actually based on a distributed file system. I used this frequently during my half-year stay in china last year because european/american mirrors are extremely poor for mainland china. You can max out just about any connection with this system. (I used to have a 60KByte/s connection in china, but a friend of mine had 400KByte/s and we were able to max out his connection as well. In europe I can get close to the 6.5MByte/s my connection delivers at the moment.)

Sounds good with this distributed file system. And my offer is still valid, you can use my FTP to fill up your mirror. And if your service is stable and stays up to date, I can retire
I'm using your FTP already BeeGee. Its very helpful in a lot of respects. But I filtered out ROMs that were older than February.
The list got a lot longer since the last time I updated. Check it out ^^
FWIW, some chefs release seldom, but their ROMs are still very active, i.e. Dutty HG 10. or perhaps older Sense 2.1 ROMs
It may help to watch the ROM forum and see which threads are active.
Thats exactly what I have been doing for the most part. Threads that have no posts in a month dont really qualify as active in my opinion.

New ROMs
Short Update: I was to Budapest and Prague last week and didn't update any of the ROMs during that time. I'm busy right now and should have the most recent version of all the listed ROMs by tomorrow. Busy uploading right now.

All ROMs should be up to date again.
Any suggestions on how to make this better are always welcome =)
I added view counts (as generated by wuala) as a crude measure of popularity. Altough most ROMs are (so far) in about the same range (0-40 Views), some (like Energy and Nataly) stand out with a lot more views than most others.
What surprised me personally was how many views Dutty's HG was still getting (despite the long time since the last release)
I will update these about every 1-2 weeks.
When looking at these also keep in mind that not all ROMs were there from the start so some of the diffrences are caused by that.
All ROMs have been updated again and also ASerg's new version is uploading right now.

Chinese developers have successfully ported WM6 AKU 0.4.2 ROM to Atom Exec and they are fixing minor bugs. Just wait for some days before the final release
And there is a piece of bad news - the leading developer charged approx. 17 dollars for his ROM and his ROM will be encrypted
But don't worry - another developer's Dopod 838, or say HTC Wizard, had been stolen some days ago and he got an Atom Exec after that. He is also porting WM6 and his work is nearly successful. He said that his ROM will be released for free

The funny thing that I wanted to tell is, they seem to have started a fight on arguing on the issue of the "compulsory sponsorship" as the only mean to obtain the latest wm6 rom. The guy who cooked the rom asked for 20USD for his hard work, and in exchange, giving you an "encrypted rom?" (well let say it has some protection mechanism) which would prevent transferring the rom to others.
Many thinks the idea is basically a ripoff and the debate was on fire. There was a rumor that a nice fellow will voluntary put his hands on cooking his free wm6. But I guess it will be a longer time to wait.

You are quite right
The FREE version will be the latest WM6 AKU 0.7, but it takes us longer to wait... However, the release of this ROM is certain and we needn't worry about it.
And the commercial version is just WM6 AKU 0.4.2, and people are disappointed of THEIR - that is to say, all the commercial ROMs are produced by a group of ROM makers that people know a little about them and dislike them - previous ROMs, and users who purchased their previous releases now feel cheated and very angry. For example, they charged something like $12 for the so-called AKU 3.5.2 ROM for Atom Exec, but the ROM proved to be AKU 3.5, not AKU 3.5.2, and they changed version info to cheat users. Another example is a man promised to port new ROMs to Atom devices and charged people for $4 each, but after he released a few ROMs, he "vaporized" and we can never find him. Note that this man is a member of this commercial ROM group.

By the way, the website of the commercial ROM group is http://www.o2fans.cn, another domain name is http://www.5shang.com. Now their forum disabled registration or numerous people will start arguing on their forum and ruin their "business".

Actually, they shouldn't feel bad about the difference between aku 3.5 and 3.5.2. If you run a file comparison routine between the two ROMS, there isn't much difference between the two version.

The phone skins look like the TMobile version .. Was this leaked from one of the new TMobile Athenas?
There doesn't appear to be any differences between this an WM6, with the exception of a 'Getting Started' tool on the Today Screen.
Will post screenshots when I get home from work. (About 6hrs from time of posting)

Strange. Does MS reset point revisions and build numbers inbetween minor version increments? Because these are the numbers from the Athena kitchen:
CE Ver: 5.2.1933
Build: 18533
looks like xip wasn't ported. this looks like a port to the athena. i would wait for us to release most likely a genuine athena build.
Screenies attached. The ROM looks like iit is a port from another device .. there's no extrom or anything. it seems a little slow as well.
I was secretly hoping for some sort of app similar to the carousel we've seen on the blackjack, but there's really nothing different at all, apart from:
PIE has a zooming feature, but Opera is still the way to go.
The only decent thing I've found is the threaded SMS/MMS .. works really nicely, but I'll be going back to AP3 in a minute lol
If you guys can cook the threaded sms into your next rom .. I'll quite happily have your e-babies.

The carrousel home screen plug-in only will be available on Smartphones Windows Mobile 6.1 Standard, for professional devices, the changes will be Reduced

Thanks for your great effort. The download link seems to be broken, so I can't try it yet. May be you're trying to update it to include the 192 dpi file and xip. Any case, I look forward to having the fixed version in a day or two.

the xip is not missing. when the rom was ported only the imgfs was ported so the xip from i believe 18125 was left over. u would need to port the xip now. im hopping to get a athena build of wm6.1.1 soon. im looking into getting something newer than the 19716 kaiser build that is floating around.
the build will have full features of the new wm6.1.1 and latest opera. it will prob eather be a cooked htc or tmo athena build. if not ill eather get a uni build to port or as a last resort do a port of the 19716 floating around. just be patient. i need to get the build then eather port or cook and properly test. but it shouldnt be too long. for now enjoy this build and my latest rom.
Yes you are right pawel, i just used the XIP of T mob rom, cos my aim was just to get the ROM working and boting first.Since it booted, i never did anymore experiments.You are an expert and can do much better

That said, it's still a great find. While 6.1 isnt everything I was hoping for, the threaded SMS app will be a great welcome Thanks, hdubli!
Would it be possible to extract the new messaging app from 6.1 as a cab for our wm6 roms?

One thing we worked hard on is a true 6.1 NK.exe the ONLY rom anywhere that will have that, a work done by the hardworking cmonex herself. Thanks for your kinds words bro. We sure are on IRC. There isn't much activity for this yet in the public. Today I flashed a alpha ROM to my Athena and it booted fine, all is looking good for this project so far....but i never thought it wouldn't
We should be active in IRC soon with some more testing once we port some nice things over to the ROM. I can't wait. These newer builds, I'm hoping will make the Athena snappier and a bit more pleasant to use.
For now, let everyone know about the project so we can get things going again. I can't wait to see how the thread will turn up again. LOL

If you guys can come up with something better than MiChy, I will be seriously interested - I have been rock solid with MiChy 2.04D and not seen the need to upgrade further.
One small request - if you can build on Pawel 's work on BlueTooth improvements, that would be awesome. Its my only real gripe at present

Thanks. Although we're not competing against anyone, I'm going to flash his ROM to see what it's about. Our goal is not to compete but to do the best job we can and hope that's enough.
We still have all our old tricks in the bag as well as a few new ones.
Still running AP4 and would be happy to move up if it looks good.

The problem is that I have updated my athena to a x7510.
Do you plan to make a versión for this model? Now that we have the HardSPL for the x7510 (thanks cmonex), we need good ROMs.
If you don plan to release a version for the x7510, would you give me authorization to port your new ROM to the x7510? (or at least to try it, because I'm quite new to ROM cooking )

How to recalibrate the battery
(thanks helgee):
1. Discharge the device. Absolutely.
2. Take out battery to 40-60 sec.
3. Put the battery to the place. Don't switch on the device!
4. Charge the device by normal way (not by usb!) to the full state (green LED).
5. Take out battery again for 40-60 sec.
6. Put the battery to the place.
7. Switch on the device.
That's all.
When you change the rom to another (another drivers base), calibrating is recommended.

Not yet. Think, serious work will start with official release of Toraz's 6.5 rom.
Prefer speed & stability.
New is not always the best.

Damn fast rom. I don't quite like the grey dark kind of theme but the icons are beautiful (just my preference - not complaint).

Very nice, as soon as the thing is uploaded I'll update my ROM and check out if Android is any less thirsty
That is one of my goals
Its to make a quick but still usable WinMo ROM that should work very good with Android!
And I will (once I get to know a bit more) try to make some kind of way to choose to start Android when WinMo has booted if HaRET is found on SD card

Added new taskbar icons.
Added ProFuze KB settings. (So you can select between TouchPro or Fuze Hardware keyboard)
I can't download the file. When fully downloaded Winrar reports a broken ruu_signed.nbh

im gonna be 16 next week and i will start cooking very soon but not public yet, makes me youngest

I like this ROM tho. I would give it a shot if you do a build in WM 6.5.5

You haven't started cooking i started when i was 15 in april last year..
So I'm the youngest
but we all give a tough competition to the Biggies around by the time we reach there age we can just pass their ROM quality.

Its not time consuming on EVK...
But yes it took me a lot of time to understand..
And you need good internet speed which i don't have unfortunetly..
too many heavy files have to be downloaded..
