Thanks a lot for posting buddy. I am from India and my phone uses english language roms. The current rom i have is the stock WM 6.1 with following codes :
PDA: B7610DDIJ3
Phone: B7610XXIJ4
CSC: B7610INUIJ3
Can I use this ROM with my phone, will it be 100% safe and not void my warranty? Sorry, these are n00b questions but even though I am a seasoned WM user, I got my Omnia Pro just a few days back, so still gathering knowledge about it. In India, Samsung hasn't launched WM 6.5 update and they aren't giving any clue about when it will be available, I contacted customer care twice.
It can void your warranty because it's not available in official ways.
The ROM is 100% safe but flashing it is not. There is always some chance of bad flashing (power shortage for example). But flashing PDA and CSC parts of ROM is fairly safe. Omnia has some features to recover from bad flashing of these parts. Eboot and Phone parts are more dangerous.
PS. This ROM has Swedish/Dannish keyboard layout.
Hey thanks for the reply buddy. But I remember seeing it written somewhere that when we upgrade to the 6.5 ROMs (official), the Eboot/CSC gets updated and that is required for the 6.5 ROM to function properly. I am not 100% sure about it but still I have my doubts. Do you know anyone who has done the same ie. upgraded directly from 6.1 to 6.5 with unofficial ROM?
Also I wanted to ask that if I flash the MST file enclosed in the zip file, will it update the Eboot/CSC?
UPDATE: Got it. The MST does have the Eboot part, but not CSC. I extracted pda.nb0 using i900Extractor and used it. Worked absolutely fine, just the free ram is too low as my eboot is still using the 20 MB PP of 6.1. Plus the Widget interface is causing some problem. When I am selecting more widgets in Widet's settings menu, first the entries are being displayed in black (or maybe no text) and selecting any one of them is causing all the Widgets except digital clock to disappear. Will wait for the official update I think.

Yes you can select german language after flashing, on your phones screen you can select languages and it will configure it for german use if you like.
But when you flash the CSC your keyboard might be messed up, as said above.

I just kept my CSC from my german winmo 6.5 stock rom B7610NDBTIK5
but flashed everything else(eboot, pda and phone) and till now I have not had any problems and my keyboard is still german layout.
As it is version 6.5 the start icon is in upper left corner as usual.
Changes you can read in first post pretty much everything is said there.
Maybe two more things,
the messaging app has really been improved, you can type a lot faster and don't have to wait so long until the letter is recognized, which is good for people who can type fast.
and if you have a DLink router and had problems using the internet that is solved somehow. I was able to use Opera and open websites for the first time since i have this phone although i still have no real stable connection.

Do you guys have any idea what is going on with the links at Modaco? I was logged in, yet clicking on any of the 3 links returns: "Sorry, but you do not have permission to use this feature. If you are not logged in, you may do so using the form below if available."
Well, obviously there is no form bellow, it really is a dead end; I even tried using another computer and I got the same error.
It looks like the access had been restricted. I have e-mailed the site administrators but no answer...as expected, otherwise.
I would appreciate posting a mirror or even attaching the documents here.

Here is what I did and STILL getting the same error when trying to use any download link on Modaco:
1. Cleared IE (deleted cookies, cache, etc)
2. Used a 3rd party cleaner to do the same thing (CCleaner – latest version)
3. Registered a 2nd account with Modaco (different user ID and password)
4. Tried using another computer in my house (connected through a wireless router) to complete the same task + also my phone.
5. Installed Firefox and tried downloading again from Modaco.
...YET, THE SAME ERROR ALWAYS POPS UP.
OS: Windows 7 Ultimate (X64), IE v.8.0.7600.16385 / Firefox v.3.6.3
Is there anybody else stumbling upon this issue or I’m just an odd case? – in which case I really start believing they have something against me, personally (although they wouldn’t have any reason)

Although I planned this almost a year ago, I finally migrated succesfully to WM2003SE. I decided to go for the only 'official' version: 2.20.07 as the main OS. Offcourse I used the WWE translated version by mamaich and buzz_lightyear.
The Ext_ROM is quite generic but does contain T-Mobile NL specific GPRS settings. There is NO T-Mobile skinning! And I love my self-made HTC Himalaya splash-screens 8)

Some files in My Documents (ie IA Caller ID Pictures and templates) are stored with system/hidden/etc properties that prevent Activesync to sync these files. Use (the enclosed CE Total Commander) to unchek all properties changeable to prevent this behaviour

I updated the diamond version to this one. Problem was to keep al my installed programs intact, but using sprite backup and manually copying the storage everything was back as it used to be. The interesting point is, that the PDA gives the extended rom from diamond as being installed while the new ones are seen in the remove program utility :shock:
Neither can I find the help files other than in chinese (that means blocks on the screen) so it isn't quiet complete yet. As far as I can see the OS is more stable and a fractional faster. Any help to complete the make over :wink:
Next: after a cold reboot there seems to be no ext.rom installed at all (as far as the program tells), only after a restore it's back. Does it has anything to do with PersaveBackup?
This morning I migrated to WM2003se, I bypassed the Country ID following the procedure written by dcs.
All seems ok but I have noticed isn't anymore installed "Graffiti" that I usually use to write. Anyone knows where I can dowmload the program ?

After some experiments I went back to the Diamond ROM because I had trouble with the phonesignal: no ringtones. And the pda hesitated a lot during routeplanner, problems with the mediaplayer, problems with the Ext. rom. I guess everything is to solve but it costs me a lot of time and most of all: I mist several phonecalls because i didn't hear the ring.
@henk-jan strange. there IS a ext rom in the package (ms_.nbf) should work as normal. one possibility: did you have the extrom unlocked when resetted the device? as the files are not readonly they are then deleted after 1st use.
ringtones & help are installed from extrom, so again same reason. as is performance while navigating.
I now have my wizard but 2.20 was way better than diamond
@Ed: I know there is a Ext.rom and it is shown in the explorer, but the device info doesn't show the Ext rom version :shock:
Going back to the diamond rom the same happens so it must be a problem in my Qtek2020.
Why do you consider V 2.20 (chinees) better then 2.06 (diamond)
Diamond was based of the 2.06 test ROM.
It was relatively stable, but also slow. And BT did not always work as expected (there was a patch for the hide&seek bt icon issue however)
2.20.07 is much faster, has all the BT support you need and has WMP10
But I must admit its also a matter of taste: I switched over when I had performance issues with 2.06. But those issues were there in 2.20 also (fixed by setting up cache for filesystem and the vulome priority hack)
About your ExtROM: The versio number is set by one of the cabs. In y rom that was the cab with the version number 2.20.904 in the name.
I cant imaging that did not run, but after all: all the issues you name can be caused by not installing from ExtROM in the first place.
I think the start program in the ext rom doesn't run. It is installed on the pda, but didn't run I guess.
Perhaps 2.06 is a bit slower but e registry hack and a speeding up utility solves that, but most of all: it works as it has to. I didn't get that with 2.20
So I take it for adventage. Thanks for your help.
Problem solved: playing with WM 5 and installing the DOC tool from Buzz_lighyear I changed the Ext rom and storage memory. Putting it back to the original state everything is OK now and the 2.20 is running smoothly on my PDA. Only frustrating to re-install all the programs one by one because sprite restores also the problems back.

transciber and stuff are simply not there, simply because it is a CHT rom that is translated.
The fonts improve when using cleartype.

In my case I only had keyboard working...
for a few months after flashing my hmalaya with rom 2.20 the imput options is left with only keyboard.
Letter recognizer is missing and the othe imput programs eg word logic, resco keyboard,calligrapher cannot be activated after installation

To my taste, best and easiest ROM to use in iPhone style.
Unfortunately, I had problems flashing your iProphet v3.6, and it happens the same now. After flashing process, my S200 got stack on Clownfish image and no bottom worked, so I had to take the battery off. On HR it customizated instaling several cabs (s2v, s2u2, s2p, wwm107, icontact, battery status and opera9). I installed gmm and 2sv fix cabs and run AppToDate.
After that I have same error messages when starting: "The files dciNbar, iLock2, LAUNCHER and starkey cannot be opened..." and many applications dont work (appart from some broken links), almost all Tools.
I hope it could be fixed .
Some notes, just ideas:
1- I missed Thumbcal (launched from iLauncher) and varanusvincents iPhone (ish) styled shelres.96.dll.
2- You downgrade Opera cab from v9.5 in iProphet3.6 to v9.
3- I use PCM keyboard0.14 (iPhone style) and any hibernate application to save program memory.
4- Other icon for AppTpDate, for example the original with gears in grey.

1. Please wait a WHILE FOR THE " FISH " PAGE TO STAY, if it is really a halt,
2. just pick the bottom reset button, and then will work normally.
3. that usually caused by mis-pointed shortcuts, corrupted files in Extended_rom or a bad flash.
So, you may need to reflash, too.

ThumbCal has gone comercial, although I may be able to use the free version.
I can add in PCM Keyboard.
I can use the other Shellres.96.dll file.
I haven't included Opera, as it takes up lots of space, and the latest beta build disables notifications!
I can update the AppToDate icon!
If you want to configure what is launched by the launcher, you'll need to go into the registry.
Under HKCU\Software\l3v5y\iLaunch, you can edit the paths. They are numberd from the top left, in rows (eg, 4 is Camera by default) and the bottom row are iDock, again numbered left to right.
If you have issues after the flash, please Hard Reset. This will clear previous stuff, and make sure the new ROM becomes the full ROM.

First, thank you for this fast rom. I'm now testing, and noticed the calendar icon has no link. Is this a bug? I've hard reset and flashed a few times, same result. Also, my SD data was wiped after flash! Luckily, I have a backup from last week... Thanks again!

There is MMS. You'll need to go through Text Messages, and hit Menu->New->MMS.

Umm... Not noticed that!
If you can edit the registry, go to HKCU\Software\l3v5y\iLaunch, and change the app2 path to "\windows\calendar.exe". I can upload a cab when I have the time!

First install USPL by following the instructions in this post.
Then extract one of the zip files below and run ROMUpdateUtility.
When first installed, the language will be set to Chinese. To change to English, move to the settings icon (cog) and press the right soft-button. Then press 0, then 2, then right to select 'US English' and finally the left soft-button to save. You'll need to restart the phone to apply the setting.
The clean version does not include the DAB radio software whereas the integrated version has it in Chinese. To get the radio app I copied the 'TTP' folder within 'Program Files' on my wm5 lobster over to wm6.5 and it runs fine. See below for download.
I have only tried the 'Clean' version of the rom.

Issues so far:
Settings icon on home screen has some Chinese text
Activsync fails to synchronise contacts
Calender display shows months text incorrectly
awesome i hope this works better than the last one i was forced to go back to wm5
(note to self.. back up numbers this time.. back up numbers)
I should point out that the 'incorrect calendar display' issue was merely my incompetence - by default it displays Lunar months, but this can easily be switched off.
I still haven't managed to get activesync to synchronise contacts but pim backup worked well enough.
The time taken to start windows is a little annoying, there seem to be 3 or 4 different splash screens now.
just wondering, where is the T9 settings? and if there isnt any T9.. why?
How did you revert to the original wm5?
That's the only thing stopping me from flashing that 6.5
when i got the 6.1 rom i got the wm5 rom with it, flashed it the same way as i did wm6.1 and wm6.5
i still miss the T9 tho

Many thanks spasmj, I also updated to the clean version and it gives my Lobster a whole new lease of life.
I was hoping to get a newer version of TomTom on it was well - but I gave up and went back to V5.2 (newer versions seem to want a have touch/stylus driven initially - but followed some advise about a particular V7 that is supposed to support keypad - but it wouldn't install).
Also a good tip to get rid of the Chinese on the front screen on Settings is to move to another home screen (I went to Sliding Panel Full).
Also anyone know who to get rid of the Chinese Mail account, I have added my Gmail but can't delete the Chinese one - minor annoyance.

I'm not sure how you'd do that. I don't know how the tv button works in the original wm5 rom. Does anyone know?
I imagine writing a small program to run in the background and wait for that button press wouldn't be too hard.

Yes AE Button Plus does the trick, thanks for the tip.
But ques for spasmj - (after updating to 6.5 rom - cheers) I copied the TTP folder to program files on the lobster but when launching the app (DABplayer or DABlauncher) I get nothing - I click to do a scan and nothing on the DAB radio - not even a failure to scan - it just sits there. It does create the TV and Radio folder. Do you have to have your original Virgin sim in? I have unlocked mine so now on o2. My original sim I got with the lobster was never used so I presume it was disabled as it doesn't work - but tried another Virgin PAYG sim and nothing on DAB radio.
After quitting I also seem to have a TV & Radio.Ink shortcut in the recent programs that fails?

Welp...This is it! First let me thank AMDZero and Steel Reign as this was definitely a group effort. I also want to say thanks to nOObody and Rapid for their Sense2.5 cab. Although I am using a different version now, they are the ones who help start this for us i920 users. Lastly I want to thank the testers of my beta rom(s). Peer input is the most valuable.
On to the show!!!!!This Build of Sense 2.5 is a mix between the best of 2014-16.
The core is 2015, but the tabs are mixed to proved the best working build for the Omnia 2 with all the fixins!

Special Notes
Please update your phone with the latest Samsung DC23 update before flashing this rom.
After you flash and XDA_UC has installed fully, I would probably soft reset the phone for good measure. This will make sure all installed programs are fully installed.
To use XDA_UC
Before you flash my rom, make a folder on your "Storage Card" called XDA_UC. Make a folder in that folder called SD. Whatever you want installed to main memory will go in XDA_UC folder. If you want to choose the install location, use the SD folder. Should be working 100%, but let me know if you have any issues.
Current Issues with phone:
* For some reason Sense likes to change the OK button after every soft rest. I haven't figured out how to fix it yet.
* Vibration currently does not work outside of Samsung apps. Not sure what the issue is yet.
* Not an issue, but bugs the crap outta me. In the Samsung dialer, the highlighted number is white and hard to see. I can't find the setting to change it and still keep white text everywhere else.
Current Issues with Sense 2.5:
* Home Tab >Edit Home Layout" currently does not work on Omnia 2's. If you try it, it will freeze your phone. If you want to edit the layouts you will need to change some simple values in the registry. This i8000 post will help, but I will try to put together a simpler list for us.
Please let me know if you have any issues.

Here is an alternate flip clock by Dibbson at PPCKitchen - I just put it into a cab. I didn't use it in my rom, as I think it looks better without a black today screen.

Is there anything different in the boot sequence of your Nonsense ROM versus your other ROMS?
For some reason, your Nonsense ROM seems to be the only ROM from your collection where I'm able to get a get a usable WMDC connection on my Vista PC. Meaning, i'm able to use WMDC to sync my media files, mails, contacts, etc...
When I load your other ROM themes my WMDC doesn't work. My Vista machine will attempt to set up a WMDC connection, but it craps out after a couple of seconds, leaving my phone in a state where I get the message 'is not a valid Pocket PC application" anytime i try to run a program.

Not that I know of, but now that you mention it I will check. This rom is actually based of my first rom *Black*, so is should be the same. Maybe I added/removed something I was unaware about.

Tough decision between Rom's choices both great.
Yeah! for the triangle button from hell I Always program it for Resco task & start menu but I like the XDA restart idea.

I downloaded your latest *Black* sense rom and I also get a connection issue with WMDC on my vista machine.
WMDC shows the connecting animated icon for a couple of seconds then changes to disconnected. After that my phone is not working at all. Any apps I run shows the pop-up message "is not a valid Pocket PC application".
Did you try connecting WMDC on another usb port???

Has anybody else noticed that after you run this rom for a day, the available memory gets so low that you can't even open the camera.
I have never had that problem, but you may want to set CleanRam to run more frequently if this occurs often for you. Sense is a heavy UI that is not made for the samsung, so that is why you may be seeing memory drain.

Sorry for the stupid question. I know that it is a "banned" program, but I also know that Swype can be include in ROMs which originally had it. But the Omnia II has Swype v2 not v3.9. I basicaly want to know if there is a way to get v3.9 without it being cooked in.

are you going to be updating this ROM at all? say like updating the OS to 6.5.5 or something of the sorts, or adding anything else to it.. i absolutely love it and i was hoping you might be still working on it heading towards a final version of nonsense, with all the tweaks and customizations that you have been doing over the last couple weeks. this is quite posibily the best ROM i have used and from what i can tell, will ever use. I try all the ROMS hoping for something better, but I ALWAYS come back to nonsense.

Maybe Facebook Tab (Developement is still atm), no eReader - or Document Tab to slow on our Device.
For your Prob with Opera, didn't you read the README, provided in Downloadpackage Look inside "_Install" Folder, there is a Cab for Opera - Localisation. After installing this Opera will work fine.

Okay thanks I thought those were for SD card flashes.
Maybe Install Opera Mobile 10 in the next version release
For me this ROM is not working as expected;
Various problems encountered, some listed are;
No screen timeout - backlight stays on.
The Hardware windows key does not function.
and some screen shadowing when using the START button (top left).

As you can read and see in first Post, MS Startmenu is disabled to get 30 MB more free Ram. When you tab on the Startbutton, XTask Startmenu replacement will popup, like in your Screenshot. To reach Systemsettings tab on "Control" in this popup, to change XTask Settings tab on the white Arrow.

I apologies for posting about the screen shadowing (i was tired and was not thinking correctly at the time).
Disregarding that matter - what about the other issues I found? No screen time-out and the Windows key (hardware button not functioning correctly). is anyone else having/reporting these issues?
Your ROM has been flashed several times but the issues are still there.

Hey Marc,
The Windows Key is programmed to trigger the start button on the stock ROM.
As the start button is not enabled, it does not lead to anywhere.
Maybe in the next release it could be programmed to a page... For now,
you can download a mod that lets you customize that.
To confirm with you, I have screen timeout, it's set in the "setting -> Sound & Display -> Backlight" (Setting this worked for me)

You could consider skinning the TouchFlo player and the bottom scroll bar with the metro theme as well like in the image attached. It looks pretty clean and matching

Yes Hardwarekey don't work, i don't used it, so didn't noticed the prob
For the Backlight i have no idea, maybe a third party app cause the problem.
