[APP] Mobile Receptionist 0.950 [2010.07.01] rule-based phone automation! - Windows Mobile Apps and Games
What It Does
Mobile Receptionist automatically handles calls, SMS, and other events, with user-configurable criteria and actions.
How It Works
You configure the Mobile Receptionist via Profiles. Profiles handle incoming events and phone status changes.
Multiple profiles can be enabled simultaneously. For example, you could have one profile automatically forward all incoming SMS messages to an email address for archiving, and another one that responds to all SMS messages and incoming calls while you're at work.
The Full Profile has Rules. Each Rule contains Criteria and Actions. If all the Critiera are met, then all the Actions are executed. There are also Criteria for the Profile, which apply globally to all Rules in the Profile.
The Full Profile has complete functionality and flexibility of Rules, Criteria, and Actions - but there are also specialized Profile types that are streamlined and easier to configure:
A Sms Responder Profile only handles incoming calls/sms and responds to the original caller.
A Event Monitor Profile only monitors events and sends notifications to a set address.
A Blacklist Profile only ignores or hangs up on certain numbers or contacts.
A Remote Control Profile allows remote control of the phone. Send SMS, get GPS coordinates, disable/enable profiles, look up contact information, etc.
Use cases
Watching a movie: set up rules to respond to missed calls and text messages with an SMS saying you're unavailable and will get back to them later.
Archiving: set up rules to forward all text messages to your email account.
Multiple phones: if you have a work phone and a personal phone, after working hours you could set up rules on your work phone to send SMS to your personal phone if the call/message is urgent.
Remote notification: If you're entering a secure building where you can't bring your phone, but have internet access, set up rules to send you an email every time you missed a call, got a text message, have an upcoming appointment.

I'll drop a new version tomorrow - everything's starting to come together nicely.
I've just posted what will likely be the final beta release. There may be minor bugfix releases but in terms of functionality this app is almost complete.
New in 0.94, i've added the Remote Control profile, which lets you remotely send text messages, look up contact or appointment info, get the phone's current GPS coordinates, enable/disable other profiles. I've also added the ability to automatically answer calls, as well as extend the SMS responder profile with the full range of filters.
I have discovered that I am being charged...
for all SMS received while I am abroad...
Will this software have the ability to set my phone
so as to allow any incoming or outgoing calls
while rejecting ALL INCOMING SMS ?

unfortunately this app won't affect your phone from receiving sms, it only acts after the fact.
What a pity !

A good recepcionist should know when not to answer !
In so doing there would be no cause for a lie !
Jajaja....
May I invite you to consider that SMS blocking, please ?
Thank you very much.

no app can block an sms from being received - that's up to the carrier
Therefore it should be illegal...

..to charge for any received messages on the basics that
the user receiving an unrequested message is being actually
charged for it...without having no way to avoid it !
If I go abroad and anyone sends 10.000 SMS I will simply start
looking for a bridge to live under.
Police, police, police !
you can use my app to automatically respond to all incoming sms with the message "please stop texting me!"
I am not making myself understood....

I travel very often.
When I step off the plane in Rome, a SMS is received as soon as
I turn on my phone wellcoming in Italy.
A charge of 0,60 euro is made.
I then go to London. Same charge.
I go to Paris. The same.
Three times a day...1,80 euro.
Twenty days a month...36 euro for havung my phone on !
And I am not considering other messages of unwanted advertisement !
SMS should be received only when desired, exactly the same as incoming calls...
Can you imagine your phone answering all calls without you deciding to do so ?

Ok.....
Thanks anyway. ...
out of beta
now that the beta is closed, when will I be able to buy this?
believe me i want to get this app to market as soon as possible. I have some polish and cleanup to do and my day job to deal with to. let's hope I can get the final version done by july.
in the meantime, enjoy the app and let me know how out works for you.
Found a way to stop/resume SMS reception...
STOP SMS reception: Call *35*0000*16#
RESUME SMS reception: Call #35*0000*16#
In each case a "successful" report will be received after dialing.
I think perhaps you would like to include a switch to automatically
stop/resume SMS on that basis...

I might be able to figure out a way to integrate this nicely, i'll look into it.
This code seems to work only on GSM phones, does anybody know the CDMA equivalent?

Is there a way to register the beta version so that the restrictions are removed?

[PRJ] GVV 0.7.5 - Google Visual Voicemail - Now with more Login options [1/02]
The lack of a Google visual voicemail for Winmo has pissed me off for long enough, so now I've take it upon myself to resolve this great injustice. Submitted for your enjoyment GVV 0.7.5: { "lightbox_close": "Close", "lightbox_next": "Next", "lightbox_previous": "Previous", "lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.", "lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow", "lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow", "lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen", "lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails", "lightbox_download": "Download", "lightbox_share": "Share", "lightbox_zoom": "Zoom", "lightbox_new_window": "New window", "lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar" } Details: Google Visual Voicemail is a semi-offline client for Google voice. You can view and play your voice messages as well as mark them read/unread and delete them. When updating, message text is downloaded to a local cache that can be viewed at any time. Audio is downloaded the first time you click play and is stored for future use. You must update manually by going to menu->update. Automatic voicemail checking is being worked on, keep an eye on the NEW section. (v 0.3) Numbers are looked up against the phone's contact list, names are now displayed when known. (v 0.4) Lot's of good stuff this time! Make calls via Google voice. This version includes a very simple dialer (look in the menu) and an option to return calls via google voice. You must set the number of the cellphone you're using in the settings menu for this to work. Upgraded to SenseSDK 1.3 Latest and greatest, should be more stable all around. Separation of Voicemail and SMS I originally didn't realize that the default view would show sms. Rather than taking it away from you guys, I've separated sms from the default view. (Sending sms will get done when I feel like it.) Removed from 0.5!!! GVV now calls its update methods every so often on it's own and caches your Google Voice account. Configure frequency under settings. When GVV downloads something by itself it puts up a notification to that effect. Fixed No parse error for empty folders. Xmldocuments are unlocked manually, you should no longer see errors about xml files being locked. Removed update from startup, it should drop you into the UI a bit faster, but you'll have to run an update yourself. Clearing the cache first checks if you have a cache. SMS should show full thread now as on GV. Numbers are checked against outlook contacts without a 1 in front. Deleted messages are now removed from the main list. (v0.5) Added contacts to dialer. Changed when updates happen Added update on receipt of GV sms. The sms is left alone for now. Removed timed update as it didn't work during sleep mode. Fixed Contact number comparison, again I hope. Non-gmail addresses should work now. JSON parse error on missing location. Specified argument was out of range on login should be fixed for everyone now. Looks like Google was disallowing passing the auth token in the url, updated to use a header. YOU WILL LIKELY START GETTING THIS ERROR WITH OLD VERSIONS, UPGRADE TO 0.5+! (v0.5.5) Upgraded to SenseSDK 1.36 Fixed Dialer item names guaranteed to be unique. *Fist shake at SenseSDK* Update button updates both sms and voicemail at the same time. (v0.6) Upgraded to SenseSDK 1.38 This should fix all the transcript sizing issues. If yours doesn't look right let me know. New SMS Form Create new SMS's and reply to your messages via the same form. Support adding one time numbers and picking from contacts. Audio redirected to handset Load Speaker/Handset Speaker switching is handled by DynRIL by Teksoft and may have is own issues or restrictions. This is very experimental! I know it talks to the audio driver so not all hardware may be supported! This has been tested as working on my TP2. I know it doesn't like to redirect when there is audio playing, especially to the handset. So if you have wmp in the background playing, it may not work. I've also had some trouble doing handset->speaker->handset, the issue usually corrects itself if you pause message playback manually, toggle the setting, and resume the message. Fixed Dialer item names guaranteed to be unique, again. *Fist shake at self* Better threading support for SMS. The thread is no longer treated as one transcript. (0.6.2) GVV now quits The WMP COM object was keeping the application open, it is now closed before the application exits. SenseSDK lists are manually unloaded before exit as per eboelzner's sample programs. I still see a small memory leak, I'll try to track it down as best I can, but most of the memory used is released on exit. (I thought managed code was meant to prevent exactly this crap, Thanks Microsoft!) Upgraded to SenseSDK 1.39 This version has changes to the way items dispose as well, it should help free memory on exit. Fixed SMS's were send with a blank "id", this seamed to break threading for replies. Removed id from POST altogether, looks like Google guesses the thread now. (0.7) Login Screen Framework for changing log in on start has been added. Right now the login screen is just a way to edit the username options found in the settings file and screen. As the main screen still performs the login right now, incorrect credentials will not stop you from proceeding to the main screen (nor will a failed login). Quickscroll Quickscroll on contact lists. Buttons on the side of the contact list to jump to a section like HTC Contact Enhancement. Fixed The "Error drawing image[]" bug. Improvements to dialer delete button, better rapid press support and holding for 1 sec+ will delete the whole field. Removed skip to end ">>|" button, due to lack of necessity. (0.7.5) [NEW] Auto Login Autologin option added to start screen. Untick it to interrupt it and make changes. Per account cache Each username gets it's own cache file. So you can use GVV with multiple accounts. I don't think you can use a character in an email address that you can't use in a filename, prove me wrong and I'll change the naming system. (You may be able to break something by typing junk into the username field but everything should work for real usernames) Fixed Busy icon over messages no longer over messages. GVV has been tested on a Touch Pro 2 and a Treo Pro, all resolutions should be supported, let me know if you experience layout problems. You must have .netcf 3.5. Want something else? You know what to do. Instructions: Install cab. Enter your Google Voice details at the login screen. For username, enter your full gmail address (ie. [email protected]) and for password your password. Log In! Enter your phone number and GV number on the settings page for dialer support. Click save (click ok on the popup) then click cancel. Click menu and click update. Enjoy. Disclaimer: I provide this software As-Is, with no warranty or guarantee of any kind. I take no responsibility for any damage that this program may cause, including but not limited to: resets, hard resets, device explosions, account bans, and/or data loss. Thanks to: eboelzner for his Sense Interface SDK. msullivan for the code to get _rnr_se, thanks for posting your source dude. MAD_Matt for the new application icon. HUGE THANKS TO THE FOLLOWING FOR DONATING! carrot34, thesecondsfade, MAD_Matt, formula84 I appreciate it greatly! If you like my work, please donate:

If you want, make a backup of your messages.xml and if clearing the cache fixes the problem send me a copy of the xml file so I can see what went wrong. (Keep in mind that that file would contain your message details.) Let me know if clearing the cache doesn't fix it, that would be weird.
DEFINITE BUMP TO THIS APP. HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR A LONG TIME!!! I POSTED A LINK TO THIS THREAD AT PPC GEEKS (US based) Hopefully you'll get more users from there to warrant your continued development. You can have Sprint "conditionally" forward your calls to your GV number for voice mail. It does NOT cost extra. If you universally forward your calls...then it'll cost you (some insane amount per minute.) Anyway, if I ignore the calls, if I'm busy, my Sprint line will get forwarded to GV. Dependent of the conditions I set up at GV...callers will receive different outgoing messages. I'm still notified of voicemail like normal. Hopefully this helps that OTHER Sprint user.
Thank you! (and feature requests) This is really useful! Thank you!!! I'm donating immediately. Lack of Google Voice apps for Windows Mobile has been a real source of frustration for me, and I really appreciate your pitching in to do something about it. A couple of requests for future features: 1. It would be great to have an "archive" button. 2. This one is probably trickier (and useful to fewer people) -- I love that you can return a phone call by clicking on the phone number, but the app routes the call through my standard dialer, which of course won't be calling from my Google Voice number. There aren't many good options for placing Google Voice calls from Windows Mobile, but one of them is iDialer. Not sure how many others would find this useful, but it would be great for me if there were an option in GVV to route the call through iDialer rather than the standard WinMo dialer. Thanks again! Alan
Minor Bug Just noticed this -- if my voicemail inbox is empty, the system displayed a "NullReferenceException" error. Thanks!
[Q] App to send pre configured SMS when i reject a call
Hi, Just wanted to know if there is any android App which can send pre configured SMS when i manually reject any call. Regards Anon67
Try Tasker
Thanks! . this looks to be something definitely worth exploring.
Try "QSMS To Buddy:FullFeatured" free app from android market Use "QSMS to buddy" App from android market. - This app allows you to send sms to missed/rejected calls. - It also allows you to send a 'default' sms after user specified time period. e.g. you can specify to send a msg after 10 secs - *** You send sms during "Outgoing" call reject as well - *** You have ability to messages while sending the reject sms depending on the context. e.g. "I will call back in 10 mins" instead of "I will call back later" There are other interesting features as well in this app. Watch demo at youtube with key word "QSMS : Quick SMS To Buddy Android App by Onion Systems" AppUsabilityExpert
Root Call Blocker also includes a feature similar to what you're looking for
Why would you want to do th at? I just don't get it.
Some countries ban usage of mobile phones while driving, so instead of pissing about with your phone while driving, you can block the call and tell them why without having to touch the phone. Could be used in meetings, school/college too. there are so many uses
Thanks for all the replies. Another classic example is you are in a middle of a meeting/conference and u get an important call (from ur better half ;-) ? ) . You may not be in a position to take the call - easier if u get an option to send predefined sms - when u reject the call - with the flexibility of not having SMS being sent out whenever u reject a call.
Reject++ If you are looking for an app to let you reject incoming calls with predefined or custom SMS and setup a reminder to return a call as well.. so check Reject++ You can: - Reject a call with SMS, Reminder, Or Both. - Convenient Slider on top of incoming call screen, slider it up and go with Reject++ - Smart SMS Templates with "Tags" - Smart Reminders Scheduling Engine. - Works with mobile screen locked or OFF - Notifications works no matter if the app is active or not. Check much more Features & Screenshots for Reject++
[Q] Voicemail/Answerphone
Hello Guys, Quite a while ago I used a Symbian app as an answerphone on my Nokia N96. I believe it was called Advanced Call Manager. The question is: Are there any apps out there that will allow me to use my Samsung Galaxy SII to answer incoming calls and record messages. These were the features of ACM for the N95: More efficient call-handling options you can assign to different contacts ACM gives you five more ways to subtly escape calls without having to hang up: Busy tone – send a busy tone to callers. Avoid acting rude by hanging up. Busy tone and SMS – add a personal touch to sending a busy tone: inform your callers with pre-assigned SMS replies. Mute the ringer – let the calls through with a muted ringer. More discrete, and keeps you undisturbed. Divert calls – forward incoming calls when you are unavailable. Play a personal greeting (Nokia devices only) – set your own answering machine and record the caller’s message straight onto your phone, avoiding having to call your operator to check voice messages. Handle groups of contacts by creating lists The easiest way to handle your calls is to divide callers into lists such as “Friends,” “Family,” “Work” and assign blocking rules for each. ACM gives you several handy list options: Work with blacklists and whitelists – block or allow calls from people included in a list. Import contacts from your phonebook – simplified list creation. Individual settings allowed – personalize how ACM handles an individual caller included in a list (for example, send a specific SMS auto-reply to your mother while the default blocking action for list “Family” is to send busy tone). Click to expand... Click to collapse The closest thing I have come across is Hullomail but this has to have all calls forwarded to there answer service. I'd prefer to simply handle all calls on my SGS2 Cheers.
This is the exact same app for android https://market.android.com/details?id=com.melonmobile.android.acm.free&feature=search_result
prodygee said: This is the exact same app for android Click to expand... Click to collapse Yes I've seen that one, but... It does not record or answer incoming calls on the Android platform.
Does anyone have experience of any apps along these lines?

Lately, I've been noodling how I can improve Samsung's Send SOS ("Send help" on the S5) feature using Tasker. Some background: Since the S5 and perhaps earlier, the Galaxy line has a built-in Safety Assistance feature. When switched on it can be triggered by pressing the power button three times quickly. The phone then switches on high accuracy GPS and creates two texts ("SOS!" and "I need help") with this location data. It also records a 5-second audio clip and takes a photo using each the front-facing and rear camera. These five texts are sent to pre-designated contacts (up to four). Whether hurt in an accident or facing a bad outcome with a criminal or a cop with an attitude, this feature could is useful. Still, I'd like to enhance it: - a more actionable "help" message, e.g., Google street address approximation or key instruction; - a longer recording that is shared and backed up to the cloud. This looks like it should be easy for Tasker to handle. I created a profile triggered by a notification that help messages are being sent. After the initial text, I used the Recordr app, which has a Tasker plugin to record, then stop after two minutes. (I don't reverse this order because I don't wish to delay the instructional message. Who knows what can happen if I wait?) It saves the recording in a file with a 15-character name based upon date and time, e.g.., DATE_TIME.aac. Haven't tried Tasker's record media A1: Send SMS Number xxxxxxxxxx Message: Avenge me! A2: Recordr Configuration Record A3: Wait 2 minutes A4: Recordr Configuration Stop My messaging app, Message+ (no judgements, please), automatically sends in Group messaging mode, which allows potential coordination by my "saviors." Sadly, some services may not respond as I'd like. Google Voice and Metro PCS recipients do not use Group mode. Short of having everyone switch messengers -- a very personal and unlikely option -- the only solution I can think of is to warn everyone that some people may not receive or respond in Group mode. Another issue: Not knowing the file name, I'm unsure how to go about sharing the longer recording. I'm leaning to not having to know the name and using AutoShare or AutoInput to get this done. Also: Any thoughts on what's long enough? A crime is probably less than a minute, an accident needs little time like location info, and a traffic stop can take a while unless things go south quickly.) My questions: 1. How can I retrieve and send this recording to a contact or point to a link online? 2. How long a recording do you recommend? 3. Any other ideas on what to add? 4. Rather than wait for the Send notification, which waits until after the location has been determined, is there a way to trigger off the initial button presses?
Macrodroid Send SMS (which is not 100% reliable) alternatives that don't require UI Interaction (which has it's own issues)?
Hello, I use/rely on Send SMS actions in multiple macros, throughout the macro stages to give me real time updates of what's happening in the Macros. It works fine for most parts. The problem with some mobile carriers, specifically the one I use: Mint mobile (which is a MVNO on the T-Mobile network) that after sending many text messages, they might block you from sending new messages or put an invisible bottle neck so some text messages might arrive with a big delay or won't arrive at all. This makes it very unreliable and tricky as some "notification received" based triggers that you know that were supposed to trigger but didn't, so it's not entirely clear if it's because some legit issue with the notification not being received or identified by Macrodroid (yes, I know you can look at the macro logs) or just because your mobile carrier prevented you from receiving new text messages for a short duration. All of this, is leading me to look for Send SMS alternatives (don't think Send Email is a good enough alternative as I want to receive notifications in my phone - And emails could suffer from the issues described above too) that don't require UI Interaction, and let me explain why: These are the main cons/issues with sending messages that require UI Interaction (for example Send WhatsApp message action that's being offered inside Macrodroid): a.) If you have any macro that uses UI Interaction, and you want to send a message throughout the macro, because sending a message requires UI Interaction, this could break the existing flow of the macro as you need to be able to return to the same screen and state that you had before you had to send a message through UI Interaction. b.) If you have multiple macros being triggered at the same time, and they all need to send messages, this will create a race condition - So what do you do? I don't think Macrodroid has a semaphore mechanism to prevent such case? As you basically need to make any existing macro to go to sleep, wait until the current macro that's using ui interaction to send a message finishes, before the ones that wait can continue in the same order they requested to send the message. With that being said, are there any alternative ways (without rooting the phone) to send messages through 3rd party apps, without using UI Interaction? Some methods to consider: 1.) Can you use the "send intent" action to tell an app to send a message to a certain user/phone without actually using UI Interaction? I know this could pose a security risk and it's unlikely to exist in any major big 3rd party messaging apps, but maybe smaller ones or ones that were created exactly for this purpose (such as MDHelper is using an older SDK to support certain actions that Macrodroid can't do)? 2.) Could you use some sort of APIs of certain big messaging apps, such as WhatsApp, Skype, Viber, Telegram, etc to send a message to a certain user/phone just by issuing some API call? Is there any support like that in Macrodroid to login to these services and then send messages (This is more Postman program level I suppose so might be a little out of scope)? 3.) Perhaps a more practical approach to avoid issues a & b, is simply not to use UI Interaction but simply send a message with the details (using send email or something like that - which again, as stated above, might not be 100% reliable) to another machine/phone that handles sending the messages, which is creating another point of failure, and could add some overhead/delay, so might not be the most ideal solution either. Any other methods or alternatives that you know or could recommend? Thank you.
