[ANDROID] RogueTools v1.1 - [Overclock & Change Screen Density] - [Updated: 04/27]
I now present you with RogueTools v1.1.
Summary:
This application is designed for the Vogue, Kaiser, Polaris and Nike devices. It allows you to dynamically overclock your device as well as change the screen density.
Requirements:
This application requires write access to your /system so this will only work on EXT2 and NAND installations.
Overclocking Notes:
Overclocking results will vary. Based upon the beta test results everyone was able to Overclock to 500mhz and have very stable results. Above this results really were mixed. Give it a try, I'd love to hear your results.
To download, search in the market for "RogueTools"

Cool app
Cool aps! Gotta try it!

Hi myn,
thanks for taking our Nike's into the collection of "elected" devices for yor warm Donut...
Question concerning your RogueTools..
if changing density, does ist simply set the appropriate "ro" property or does it also make other changes to internals of the system ?
Background of my question is, that i'd like to have a density of 120. But if i simply set the "ro" property, some apps don't fit into the screen anymore (i.e. the Phone)

Cannot download
Can you provide an apk?

Yes it simply changes the ro property at system level. So if you change your DPI to 120 in some cases the phone app may be cut off if you're using the default Warm Donut theme.

I'm very tempted trying this app, but will it increase heat problem?
With no overclocking, I have a lot of heat on my niki100, im afraid this make even more heat...

Nice to see you giving NIKI a little atention...
Thanks Myn

[GAME] GalaxyHopper - New OpenGL Game for the HD2 and others

GalaxyHopper
It'is time again: I want to introduce my new game to you. It goes by the name "Galaxy Hopper" and is a puzzle game.
Where download?
Here's the direct download: Download
And here's my homepage: Homepage
The . Cab is approximately 5.5 MB in size.
Game idea:
There are five difficulty levels with 12 levels to choose from. In each level your task is to bring the UFO to the middle of the board.
Any object can be moved in all 4 directions. The only rule: They'll fly until they hit another object. Moves into free space are therefore not allowed. That sounds simple, but it is not ...
Technology:
The game is based on OpenGL and has therefore very smooth animation and effects. The intro is realized as a so-called motion comic and there's an atmospheric soundtrack. Some screenshots can be found below.
Screenshots

"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Installation:
Simply download the cab file and copy it to your device. Then tap it and follow the instructions. The best the game is installed directly on the device, but an installation on the memory card is also possible (albeit slower).
Compatibility / Troubleshooting:
The game was originally developed for the HD2. Other devices (such as the HD) should of course be supported, but here I cannot promise anything (just try it!).
On older devices the game will probably not run due to missing OpenGL support.
If the game does not start, crashes or freezes a soft reset should help.
Updates
Version 1.1 is now (2nd of February 2010) online. It fixes some bugs with the levels as well as other minor things.
So, what do you think guys n' gals?
Some kind of Feedback would be nice
WOW another great one !!! Thanks Vankurt
I'm gonna try it this evening on my HD
Wow! Nice, great stuff looks fantastic and runs great on the HD2
I would add the [GAME] tag to the title of the thread if I were you, helps with searching and notcing great new games
I love this game it is really great!!!
A little bit more smooth on the HD would be nice
Well the game game was designed for the HD2. But I've heard from many people, that it works fine on the HD as well.
Maybe you have something going on in the background?
Or a strange ROM on your phone?
Or it just needs a soft-reset?
One thing you can try is to turn off sound (music and effects). There seems to be a little bug in there...
Let me know if it helps! If so, I'll fix that.
will try it out and posy my review on it
nice game!works great on my HD2 but it's not anything heavy! I was expecting it to be more graphics demanding..
Allrighty! The first update is out, mainly fixing some issues with unbeatable levels. Plese use the download link on the front page to download the latest version (1.1).
Is the updated cab file for 1.1 having file size of 5,628,486 bytes?
Yes, indeed it does

Dev wanted for tablet mode refinements

im looking for a developer with some android background who could help to implement some changes regarding per app dpi as explained here.
what this will do is break free what many have come to call "tablet mode" but this time without blowing the phone to bits. we could have the best of both worlds: tablet UI, tablet apps (gapps, settings, youtube, everything tablet HD & related) and normal apps running in their default layouts. the problem is that google created a hole between tiny phones from 2005 and big tablets. all our phones fall in it. it makes no sense that a nexus for instance runs in 1-column layout, its ridiculous actually for such a huge screen. tablet mode, as it is right now, helps, but it forces non-tablet apps into tiny layouts.
now we've had some success with our manual mod and even some dev's jumped in to adapt their apps, nova for instance is now tablet mode ready. but we just need to dig further. without per app dpi this will only be interesting for a small audience. with the setting in check it will probablby blow over and re-define ICS as we know it.
i managed to compile cm9 and im learning how to deal with it but its so much. a simple grep for stuff takes like an hour because its gigabytes of code. it grows way over my head right now. i think i've found A. the position where the treshold for the tablet switch is implemented which could be lowered and B. how to implement individual DPI but there's stuff missing. anyone who's interested to help or lead us in this, please contact me.
ps. what we'll get will look like this:

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
with that setting it could be like that on all phones, not just high density ones like nexus.
thanks!

Nice idea, but...

If you run non-stock DPI, it will take a LOT of work to get widgets to display correctly.
I am running SlimKat 4.4.2 on Galaxy Note 2 with global DPI 245, and had offset widgets from the start, which wasn't surprising. So I installed Xposed & App Settings module, set Themer to 320 DPI, rebooted to recovery, wiped cache & dalvik, launched Themer again, and still had graphical glitches:

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
I tinkered with individual widget settings and discovered the widgets are positioned in absolute pixels from margins. It would be awesome if users had the option to set graphical elements in relative terms, ie, a percentage of the distance from margins/center.

Nice idea, using relative positioning and size (HTML like?) would make themes more usable on different screen resolutions. However, this would not play well with themes that have the objects designed directly into the wallpaper
I don't understand what are you trying to say. Can you clear it for me?

Grame, do you have any experience with HTML and CSS?
If you do styling of text in them you have a possibility to chose precise or relative size of text by using tags saying something like:
font-size: 16px - this is absolute size of text
but you can also say :
font-size: 2em - this is relative size saying that the text should be double the standard size for what ever the default text size is on the device
Same is possible for size and position where you can define them in pixels or percents
As I understand what OP said, Themer now uses positioning in pixels (absolute) like setting the battery status 10 pixels from right border and 10 from top. If theme instead allowed for percentage (as well as pixels) it would help with scalability of themes for different sizes and resolutions. As I said the only issue to solve would be graphics that are built into the wallpaper.
I am also having a lot of trouble with widgets on themer

FAQ
1. Does it help to battery ?
Yes.
2. How it works? and Could you give more details?
Coolify is designed to cool your device's temp down by tweaking system values, like VM and systcl... it does the battery tweak. only 80 tweaks.
More tweaks like that.
XTweak, Tweak script
It doesn't change any CPU frequencries or Governors. you can look at the /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/.
3. About cooling effect
ROMs are different and The cooling effect is not the same, 80% of the ROMs has cooling effect, no all ROMs work perfect. because Too many ROMs
4. Why is Coolify needed to run on Foreground?
It can be set as background by turning off the notification in settings interface. I just make the cooling service is not easy to be killed by system.
5. Will your "One Power Guard" app conflict with this one? Or installing both of them are A-OK?
They do not have any conflicts and the core optimization is a part of OPG, it is able to install both of them.
6. Permission Description
android.permission.RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED - To set as boot
android.permission.GET_TASKS - To determine whether Coolify's cooling service is running and show UI
android.permission.WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE - To write error log to help solve any issues you might be facing and count the number of devices
android.permission.BATTERY_STATS - To get battery temperature
android.permission.INTERNET - To upgrade this app
android.permission.ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE - To determine the network is available and to upgrade
android.permission.READ_PHONE_STATE - To store certain exception information in server logs
android.permission.ACCESS_SUPERUSER - To get root access
7. What is non-service mode?
it means this app doesn't run a background service!

[Store][Game] Shards - the brickbreaker

We have rewritten our game Shards - the brickbreaker into Unity and it is finally available in Windows Store (our first Windows Store game).
It is classic arakanoid / brickbreaker clone with 80 levels (each with unique background) and is free (supported with ads).

Game crashes immediately after tapping on the first level. Tested on Lumia 950 with the latest updates.
@sensboston - thanks for reporting. I tested it on my Lumia 532 (reinstalled from store), which is pretty low device and it works. Your device is much more powerfull with hires screen (1440 x 2560). I tried to simulate this resolution in Unity and game scales well with no errors thrown. But unfortunately, I cannot test it on real device. If it is some Unity bug, it will be hard to track.
I hope some crash report in WS console will give me a clue what happend - however, so far all reports just reported "Unknown" error
@SBC_games, save detailed log file and stack trace to the app's storage, I'm able to copy & send that file to you.
Also, have you checked your game on the latest emulators (Creators Update) release?
https://mspoweruser.com/near-final-...update-emulator-image-now-available-download/
P.S. You may also send me a non-store package for testing purposes (and for easy log file extraction), I'll be glad to help you.
@sensboston - thank you, I appreciate your help very much! You can send me logs to email "sbcgameshelp", which is at gmail.com.
Tomorrow I will prepare several package versions with stripped features, so we can see what is causing crash. Game scene is the only one with two cameras for example.
@SBC_games, sorry but I don't understand - what logs, what is the file name supposed to be? OK, take your time and send me a link (via PM) to special version, and I'll help you.
I just received an update for this game and now it doesn't crash anymore on my 950

thanks for info. In the end we had to remove screen deformation effect. It looks there is some bug in Unity when rendering into RenderTexture.

I had issues before but it works fine now! Thanks so much! By the way, have you considered adding xbox live features to your game like leaderboards, game hub, stats etc. It's pretty easy to get into the XBOX Live creators program. You could also try [email protected] too for the all the XBOX Live APIs that the AAA developers use. I would have sent you a link to register but I don't have enough posts so you're going to have to search for "XBOX Live Creators Program" .

Thanks for tip! It is currently out of my capabilities. Some time ago I had to limit scope of my activities - it is now Unity and HTML5 game programming. There is so many other araes I would like to explore, but, you know, it is not possible to do everything.
