Hello,
today I installed Windows Mobile 6.5 on my HTC Touch Dual. But now I have a problem with the volume when I am telephoning. The volume is too loud, but I don't have found any possibility to customize it less noisy.
Have anyone of you any ideas or a solution?

Hi Folks,
I have just a simple question,
Is it possible to use the T-Mobile Ameo or the HTC Athena as a normal mobile Phone without the build in speaker or a handsfree like it was possible with teh HTC Universal? There are users saying yes you can but the German Press is telling that you can only make calls with the build In speakers or with a handsfree.
Thanks for help

I can confirm that you won't be able to use it like a normal phone, you either use the build in speaker or headset, however, there is a trick, if you turn the volume down, you can use it "just like" a normal phone
Thanks for the answer!
AMEO no good as phone
Just received my Ameo tried to use it as a phone - yes you can turn the volume down but not low enough that everyone around you can still hear the conversation. I had the volume turned as low as possible (the in call volume setting) which is a bit too loud to put to your ear also the sound comes out of both speakers. The option to turn on/off the speaker phone is greyed out.
Fortunately you have seven days to send you device back if you ordered it direct from t-mobile...I had the vario II before but that kept locking up with TomTom...TT works great on the Ameo but I still need a useable phone. I was hoping to find a registry hack to enable you to turn the volume down and to perhaps turn off the other speaker whilst on the phone - anyone?
Hi,
I got the same idea and searched allready in the registry to lower the volume.
I didn't found it yet, but i am a rooky with registry. I keep searching!
any solution yet? i hate to use those cyborg looking bt headsets...
Any workaround taht enables the use of the phone as a conventional one yet? Thanks.
there could be some registry hacks about the built in speaker's volume during a call. I've found them but modifying them doesn't make any difference. However these settings work on just about ANY other sound that athena could make (aplications, alerts etc), but not the in call volume
I haven't tried it yet, but the Style-I by LG seems to be the best option for regular phone use with the Athena
Hi , does anyone face this problem? When i turn on speaker phone, i can hear the caller clearly but he can't ,says is very soft . Anyway i can bring up the speaker volume so he can hear better . Any registry hacks or softwares that can correct this problem . Tired on an o2 Atom pure , seems fine .

Same problem plus my mic is also dead , I tried allmost every rom out there and nothing helps. I think I'll go for the Iphone instead!
I had this problem b4 and I found a thread some where here but forgotten where. Anyway you can download this small pdf file here http://mikechannon.net/PDF Manuals/Microsoft Word - HTC Prophet Speaker Problems mike channon.pdf
or go there http://mikechannon.net/
My problem is exactly how it was described; speaker jack lock.
If you can hear using your speaker jack then read the pdf else ignore me.
Hi there,
I'm not a pro in all this but I do have the general knowledge. So I flashed my ROM on my HTC Tytn (HERM200) to
ROM: M2D_Light
Radio: 1.16.00.00
Prot: 32.53.7018.01H
I'm running Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional
Now to my problem, everything works just fine, camera, calls etc. But my phone speakers don't work - theres no beep at all - so if somebody is calling me, my phone just vibrates, no sound if opening a movie or a mp3.
Can anyone help me ? Do I have to update the Radio ?

any need to hijack a thread...? ^^^^^^
@op, sorry i cant help you but i would also like too, must admit though, i've never come across anything like this......
Do you want the same volume screen as you get on the home tab on the music tab?? Have I got that right?.......
In theory it should be possible to do this.........
Im afraid I dont know how though.......
When I tried to use a different taskbar once there were problems with the htcvolumeoverlay.dll and I lost the little green volume bar, it was replaced by the black vertical touch volume control.....
I wouldnt know how to get it working properly but I think it is possible .....
EDIT......
ok sorry, i now see what you mean and thats not it.............
Sorry for the useless post lol........
