if such a manila mod does not yet exist (note that I searched in xda'developers before posting), may I suggest to our great Manila modders to mod the slider to enable endless sliding (I mean, being able to nonstop sliding from last tab to first tab and beyond, or the other way around)
I guess you're talking about some sort of a loop, right?
I never payed attention to this issue on my TyTN II because I used to use the keypad all the rime, however on my HD2 things are a little bit different... the home button does the trick, but it's not as convenient as way you describe it
That feature is sort of available already.
I mean, not directly, when you are in the home tab, swiping left to right (in the tab area not the slider), will bring you to the last tab; if you're on the last tab, swiping from right to left (again in the tab area not the slider) will bring you to the home tab.

Yes, I know, and that was the driver for my suggestion/ feature request, as it needs several swipes in the non-slider area.
My suggestion makes posible arrive to the desired tab, via single swipe on the shortest route, left or right wise!
I think I know what you're saying but I have another idea.
I think a carousel type idea would be awesome. Just grab the slider and flick it left or right and the slider keeps going until either, kinetically it slows to a stop on its own, or you stop it with your finger to land on the desired tab. It would go around and around in a big loop, animating all tabs the way the Co0kie Home Tab Mod allows you to slide between pages of quick links. I think this would be an INCREDIBLE mod to see become a reality.

hello, my friend recently purchased the tilt, so naturally I had to commandeer (typo) it. his today screen has a nice button in the top right corner (where the 'x' button is normally located) to access a small menu full of the apps that are running. and the normal list of options are there: end, endall and whatnot.
I was simply wondering if someone is in possession of this plugin.
also, though not AS desired. the tilt apperently is able to have text messaging displayed on his today screen.
You mean HTC X-button? Search for it and be happy
pBar is much more powerfull and better than HTC X-button. Don't know the exact homepage of pbar but you can download it from here. (free registration required)
Regards,
Carty..
Also check out Wktask. One of my favorites.
I use the HTC X-Button..They all seem to work about the same.

Yes, the tilt uses X-button, as does the touch and all future planned HTC buttons. You can find it all over this forum as well as others.
As many users here have already mentioned, there are actually many better options (X-button only shows you that info on the home screen, whereas wktask or my personal favorite- Qmenu, lets u view all your running programs whenever you want. These alternatives also generally use less resources).
As far as the SMS on the today screen... I don't get it, doesn't your titan do this? Whenver I get an SMS, the notification menu pops up on the bottom of the today screen (or any screen really) and shows me all 160 characters of the text message.
QuickMenu_en_2.7
works well for me
This is a little program I wrote to make our devices more gesture friendly. First If anyone wants to build on these mort scripts they are more than welcome to all I ask is give credit where credit is due
After you install the cab everything is in the my documents folder and at the moment it will not work in another folder but if this get popular then I might redue it for easy customization.
Directions:
First you have to go into your ftouchflo gesture settings and do as follows
Up-down: \My Documents\down.exe
Down-up: : \My Documents\up.exe
Left-right: : \My Documents\left.exe
Right-left: : \My Documents\right.exe
If you swipe your finger up the brightness will go up by one. Start from the bottom and swipe your finger to the middle of the screen. A little box should pop up and tell you what your new brightness level is. If you swipe your finger up and then swipe your finger from left to right the brightness with go to max. once its at max it will go back to what you had it if you do it again. For Brightness to go down you just do the opposite and for brightness to go all the way down just swipe your finger from top to the middle and then from right to the middle.
For the fun stuff:
If you just swipe your finger from left to right VJVJCandelaLite will come on to turn it off just hit ok or swipe your finger again.
If you swipe your finger from right to left the volume with go from mute to 100% or other way around
It gets better:
If you swipe your finger from bottom to middle then from right to middle it will link the audio to your BT headset to turn it off just do it again.
If you swipe your finger from top to middle then from left to middle you will activate wifi to turn it off just do it again.
NEED TO KNOW
Once you swipe your finger up or down you have 10sec to swipe your finger left or right after that it will go back to the default left and right app also in the cab I put the VJCandelaLite app in the my documents because I was not sure if everyone already has it.
I would have just provided a video but I did not feel you could see what was on the boxes popping up. I hope this is easy to understand if you don’t understand how this works I will post some kind of video. Hope everyone likes.

I have tried. But we all waits for the conifgurater
I see. I was only going to make that if it got popular. the way it is now i made it to suit my needs. and to be honest the conifgurater was going to be for stuff like the choosing the dir or switching around the gestures. but to make it do something different all together i would need to reprogram the scripts. But i will have lots of spare time over the summer since im not taking any classes so my goal is to get better at c# and learn how to program in win CE
Excellent work Irus. Just got a chance to try it and it fits my needs as well. Nice addon for the rom.

Very well done irus, I love it. A "configurator' will be nice though.
I'll play with it some more and give some feedback later. I wish I was more of a techie to come up with cool stuff like this myself myself
problem is the rom doesnt have ftouchflo. it has htc's touchflo.

Powel,
Does the HTC touchflo retain the audio feedback when the screen is touched? I could not live with ftouchflo because of the absence of audio feedback,so I had never been willing to use it.
Before I get on to my question as the title states, I'd just like to say that I'm a long time lurker of this site, however this is my first post as you can tell. I've used a number of ROMs for my Sprint Mogul over the last year and a half or so and just want to extend my appreciation to all those that have put so much time and effort into these devices.
Now onto the question at hand,
I have downloaded and loaded up Ryan Mogul's WM6.5 sprint heavy ROM that he listed. And everything is working very smoothly so far. However, I have to say that I'd really like to add a lock button to the Windows Default Today screen. The only way I have found to lock the phone so far is to go to start and then click lock at the bottom left. I have looked through the utils and options and so far the only way to add the lock to the today screen is to get rid of the sliding menu on the today screen and go back to the old style from 6.0-6.1. Can anyone tell me how I can add a lock button to one of the panels on the windows default today screen?
Any help that can be provided is much appreciated.

i found a cab for a program called devicelock 1.2. i installed that and then mapped it to one of the buttons that i don't use (the press and hold for voice command). i find it quicker to use a hard key than to navigate to it. i also added it to the applications panel (or whatever those things are called). i am not sure where the .exe is at but you can manually map it as \windows\start menu\programs\device lock.lnk
hi folks,
i'm interested to find out whether it's only me or if more people have asked themselves why google put the hamburger menu to the upper left corner of the screen. i mean considering the fact that displays get larger and larger and the fact that in many apps that spot is, will and has to be used every other moment while using an app, IMHO it is the worst possible placing for the so called "hamburger menu" at lest we can to try out what might be the reasons for google to make their choice, because even if we don't like something, it's easier if we know the reasons, at least if thei're valid
the goal would be, of course only if there will be many who agree and feel bothered, to brake loose a discussion and finally bring this topic to
the attention of a larger community and to google in the process.
thanks for any participation, opinions, proposals etc.
my favourite spot would be lower right corner but should this by design not be a good choice, i can see no reason what could make the upper right corner not a better alternative than the current choice.
below you find 4 sample images to illustrate what i mean and what i find preferable. self evidently the examples for the preferred spots are not "hamburgers"
In use:

Maybe you already know or are not interested anymore but here's my thoughts.
They must have a good reason to do so. I also don't like a button on top because display size and if using one hand its hard to reach. But when that menu can be opened by sliding which seems to the case more often then its better. Althoough not all apps might want sliding enabled because other reasons. The placement on top has probably also to do with that the bottom area is a more interactive space for other interactions to happen with thumb or not... Or because now only a title bar on top is needed and no bar below which saves space and looks more simple (most likely). Why left or right? I don't know but also prefer right side for button because its easier to reach but that also depends on if this button (depending on items on menu) will be used more often than others. And maybe with certain apps left side is seen as a 'starting' point just like the 'start' button in windows that is placed left
EDIT: i see that the hamburger button is used indeed for categories/places within an app and usually to slide open which makes sense to me. Unless it's used as a small settings menu but you can't have both i guess.

sure, all you say is correct, that's why my proposal was top right, still slidable and none of the reasons you mentioned would interfere, just that the top right for all right-handers (the majority) is at shorter distance than the top left which for a main in-app-nav-tool is the farthest away possible.
thanks for taking you time and the meaning of the thread is/was to get this kind of replies and not getting simply agreement, because i'm sure that they discussed all 4 corners and deciced for top-left for a reason. this does not automatically make it the best decision but if we could find out what the real reason was and understand their point of view, it would be easier to take it as a given fact. so there are two solutions: a) understanding or b) correction
enjoy further
Lucky though I am to suffer such trivial problems on my journey through life, I'd be very grateful if anyone has a solution to this particular Rich World problem.
On my Tab S3 I am in landscape and Split Screen Multi window mode. I want to change the app in the Left Hand pane. If I press the Recents button I am only ever given the option to change the apps in the Right Hand pane. It does not matter which pane, left or right, is in focus I can only change the app in the right hand pane.
The only way I can figure to change the app in the left hand pane is to 1. Swop the panes about so Left pane becomes Right pane. 2. Hit the Recents button and select the new app. 3. Swop the panes back. That's rubbish! Does anyone know if there is an easier way to change the Left hand app?
Why do I want this? I am right handed. I like to use the stylus with Samsung Notes in the right hand pane. I keep whatever app I am referring to or watching in the left hand pane and I like to change to different apps there fairly regularly. All this daft swopping is dementing me. I could just do my writing in the left hand pane but that is also rubbish as it feels awkward.
Really like the Tab but wondering if I should have got an iPad Pro for my notetaking.
Ok this is pretty trivial i know, hence plenty views but no replies! I'll leave it up in case someone else is puzzling about what multi window does and doesn't do.

It's not trivial. But it is how the multi-window is implemented by Google in Android Nougat. So there isn't a solution unless Google change their mind on the implementation.
