How can i set up voicemail on Htc hero ..? Guys please help me .. Thanks in advance..

Do you mean add your voicemail number to the phone? main menu, settings, call, voicemail service, select my carrier, then goto voicemail settings and change the vm number.
to get the number you need to add enter and press the send button
*#61#
How ever if you are talking about provisioning a mail box number on the mailbox server then speak to your cell provider.

Could not use gsm service code (call forward) from contact

XDA (Siemens SX56) would complain service code must enter from the keypad. We have serveral call forward numbers in the contact list that we use regularly. Every time, we try to use MS Voice Command to dial those call forwarding number, it would complain and would not proceed with the action. Any ideas? work around would be greatly appreciate!
Example, for Rogers AT&T in Canada, *21*<phone number>#, will call divert (forward) the mobile number to another number.
I have the same problem on Rogers ATT with XDA II... not sure what causing it. Anybody? Any ideas?
This is a Microsoft issue. They are aware of it, and it is on their list of things to fix. Just not that high up the list.
Speed dial seems to the only way to do gsm service code
Speed dial is the only way to get call forwarding working. However, MS Voice Command does not seem to allow speed dial a number.
Does Speed-Dial work for you?
Like others, if I store a *21* sequence as a contact, and then use this to establish a speed-dial entry, I get the "must use phone keypad" error message.
I haven't been able to directly store a number as a speed-dial. "New" only lets me select something from contacts, and "Edit" only lets me change the name and speed-dial location, not the dial string.
Have you actually been able to store a *21* string directly into a speed-dial and have it work properly? If so, can you tell me how?
Thanks

How to change default voice mail number on speed dial "1"

Hi,
Does anyone know how to change the default voice mail number that is set to speed dial "1"? I came from BB and there is an option to enter a password for my voice mail. All I want to do is to add my voice mail password into the default voice mail number. This way I don't have to enter a password when I check voice mail.
Thank you guys!
its under settings/call settings, the problem for me is that its greyed out so I can't edit it. Hopefully you have more success.

Same here! It's greyed out. Anyone?
If you're on AT&T, the VM has a feature where it turns off the need to type in the security code if the call is coming from the handset that the VM is storing messages for. If you dial in on another line, the system will prompt for the security code.
I think this is a better method than entering the code into the dialing process.
yeah either rogers or bell used to do that. (thinking it was bell landline)

[Q] How to get back to ATT voice-mail after uninstalling GVoice

How to get back to ATT voice-mail after uninstalling GVoice?
I went to https://www.google.com/voice/b/0#phones and deactivated my Gvoice account. But then what should I do next?
I believe my voice-mail is still forwarded to GVoice somehow. I tried and left a voice-mail on mail phone, the notification bar indicated that I had 1 voice-mail, but I cannot listen to it. When I dialed 1 on the phone, it went to 804-214-6647, and said that I had no voice-mail.
I believe you have to go to Settings > Call > Voicemail service and select My Carrier.
under GVoice settings for deactivating Voicemail it says:
1) Enter the following exactly as written, as if you are dialing someone:
##004#
2) Press "Send" or "Call" on your phone to dial that number. When you see the confirmation message on your phone, you are done!
I did all that before I posted here. My problem is that my phone keeps dialing the Google Voice number instead of my ATT voicemail number. Can anyone provide me the ATT voicemail number please?
You should be able to access att voicemail if you call yourself. Make sure the call forward settings are not still set on the gvoice settings.
I think the VM dial in and forward numbers are regional. If you call att they should be able to provide the number. When my wife went from the captivate to an iPhone all the forward settings are not there on the iPhone. Att was able to reset all the settings from the network side.

The call in number is your cell number.
I had to call a CSR and have them reset it for me. A little bit of a pain but it is what it is.
Hope its OK I add a somewhat related question. In my dumb attempt to get visual VM back (from SR), I installed At&t Messages. Yeah no bueno. I've removed the app but my VM is still the hybrid setup with their crappy service. Will I need to call in and have them undo this mess?

Try dialing ##004# then hit send. That should reset everything.

No its not. The ATT voicemail number is a different number. Your own number gets you into your voice mail box, but that is not giving you access to your voice mail features. Been there just this week! Since this number is not always the same between locations, I suggest you call ATT, tell them that google voice mail hijacked you, and they will give you your specific voice mail number. If that does not help, send me a message.
FIXED. I called ATT and asked the voicemail number that was programmed on my device and it worked. Calling myself also worked though.

Appreciate the response but this didn't do anything for me. On call #3 with AT&T to get this god awful app and whatever it did reversed.
thank you!
this helped me reset my voicemail after un installing the ATT messages app (worst app ever) ( i used the ## way)

[Solved] [Munjeni CM9 ICS] Voicemail number unavailable (AT&T)

I am using Munjeni CM9 ICS rom. Since yesterday, I can't access my voicemail from my phone. I press and hold "1", then the rom gives me the message "voicemail number unavailable". I am using AT&T. Is it a bug?
You have to enter your voicemail access number. Go to Settings -> Call Settings -> Voicemail number and enter your own mobile phone number.
Some time after I did this, the number changed to the usual number for my area. I'm assuming AT&T has the power to change whatever number you program here.
thank you

[Q] Change voicemail to dial your voicemail and code

Hello,
On my S4, I had made a contact called voicemail (which included both voicemail a pause and then my access code. When I'd get a voice mail and see it by swiping from the top of the screen, when I pressed the notification for voicemail, it would then dial my voicemail and access code. I can't seem to get that to work on the G3 so I'm thinking I forgot a step in making it dial voicemail and password.
