For help "Unable to find ITelephony interface". - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi my friend,
I found the HTC telephone application coud not be replaced, as I used third party telephone(Hidialer.apk) replaced the HTC default Phone.apk (system/app/Phone.apk), then 'make snod' to generate system.img, and run it in emulator, I found phone button not work, and in adb logcat, error happen :"Unable to find ITelephony interface". It make me confused, why phone not work but default(HTC)phone.apk can ? What is the reason ?

haveing the same problum on my chineses tablet i see this in logcat when i press the power button and the screen will not come on, i beleve that removeing the packages.xml and the package list file in the /data partiton can cause it work correctly

ive installed cygwin but when i call ./menu the answer is
"scripts/check_binaries: line 22: clear: command not found"
Error: The application 'clear' is not installed. The kitchen
will not function properly without it. Refer to the
FAQ for the Android Kitchen at xda-developers.com for
assistance on installing the binary for 'clear'.
but on the terminal when i call Ctr+L it cleans the window.
am i doing something wrong ??
You just quoted the answer to your question! I thought I made the error messages easy enough to understand.
There is an answer to that same question in the FAQ and it has been asked several times in the thread if you search.
believe me, ive done some research before posting...
my big wall is that i dont understand dev or prog logical spelling and i am not english as you can see by my flag.
even on some threads that i read, user cant get a specific answer because helpers and users always point for faq .

This is not an excuse. You don't need to understand development/programming or even fluent English to install Cygwin. The specific answer to your exact question is in the Android Kitchen FAQ, it's not there so that somebody can get you off his back. The FAQ is there in simple English and its purpose to stop questions like this being asked a hundred times and cluttering up the forums and wasting my time answering the same thing over and over. I didn't spend all that time working on answering the questions for nothing. I'm trying to make the kitchen instructions and errors as descriptive and helpful as possible to the user yet somehow it makes it harder for you.
In brief, simply open up the readme file and make sure you followed the cygwin instructions correctly.
I'm sorry. did not want to undervalue your efforts and your work.
was having a bad day and did not pay real attention to your work.
is true, everything is the way it is explained, and followed to the letter, we have a kitchen completely furnished and ready to cook.
a true thank you for your work and hope to continue to have your news.

calm down ..is it so hard to answer...blabla iam developer
browse to https://github.com/dsixda/Android-Kitchen , download as zip and extract it to C:\cygwin\home\user (assume its install location)
working only on x64 version based PC only.
rename your extracted folder to kitchen
before make sure cpio, perl, ncurses, wget, zip, unzip, gcc has installed from cygwin setup.
cd kitchen
./menu

Cygwin not working
Hello guys. I have done what you have said in regards with the installation (installed correct 32bit java, click install instead of default, and downloaded half url package in cygwin installation wizard) however it keeps showing the Error: The application 'clear' is not installed .
Any other solutions you can think of?
Thanks!

UP, For information the application will be run on a rooted phone

[Q] Use system PIN dialog in Android application

Background
I am trying to write an application which works like described below.
When user start application it check if user have registered PIN on his device.
If user have registered PIN, application must show button "Continue with PIN".
When user press on button "Continue with PIN" system standard PIN dialog must appears.
User enter his PIN and press "Continue" button.
After System must check if entered PIN is correct or no and continue working.
Researches
I have made some researches and find some articles on stackoverflow and other internet sources which say "There is no way to develop a new custom unlock mechanism on a non-rooted phone." or "I would be surprised if you could, because then you would be probably able to steal the pin code, and I don't think anyone would want that.".
Also I have watched some video tutorials like Tutorial: Android Internals - Building a Custom ROM, Pt. 1 of 2 and Tutorial: Android Internals - Building a Custom ROM, Pt. 2 of 2.
Decision
So I think that the only way to get access to the Android system PIN dialog is to root the phone make some changes in the system files and use system PIN dialod
Question
Can somebody provide me useful links about getting access to the system PIN dialog in the rooted phone.
Am I on a right way and can I solve my problem in this way ?
If anybody encountered such problem please help me to solve.
Thanks,
Victor

[How to make a LOGCAT] {How to report cm9.1 bugs to fxp}

Many off us here are using custom roms and are spamming the developer thread by posting our issues without attaching a logcat
simply like
my bluetooth is not starting
my hdmi is not working
Etc .
by posting lamely, U r not helping the developer u r just spamming his thread
to really get help, make sure u have a logcat of your problem
What is logcat?
Logcat is the command to view the internal logs of the Android system. Viewing logs is often the best way to diagnose a problem, and is required for many issues. This way you'll find out what apps are doing in the background without you noticing.
Advantages of Logcat
Debugging
You can see what processes are running, if a process is running after a certain interval of time, it will eat battery. So you can also find out what is draining your battery.
What developers need is a logcat To know what is the issue
i will tell u how to make it on a phone itself
1) download an app called ALOGCAT
2) install app and open
3) u will find random text coming there (its not random literally )
leave it in background by pressing homekey
4) this step is specific
for eg. if are having trouble in switching on wifi , try to swtich it on or do fiddle wid anything u have .. just play around with your cell, run the app u think is buggy or whatever
once done
5) press home button for long, select alogcat app,
6) click on options hardware button (right one ) and click on save.
logcat will be saved to sdcard/alogcat folder in the form of txt files.
7) now either u can directly upload the logcat.txt while telling about your problem
or
u can copy the contents of that txt file and paste on www.pastebin.com
after pasting u will get a link something like pastebin.com/******
just copy link and paste along wid ur problem
8) now next time u have a problem make sure u attach a logcat along with it
this method is not useful if u r not able to boot the phone
for that u need to have a pc and android sdk installed along with the drivers
if u have everything installed then
Open the 'run' dialog by pressing the 'Windows' + 'r' buttons on your keyboard (minimize the browser & other non-windows programs)
cmd (this will open a DOS prompt)
cd c:\Android\tools (go to the directory where you extracted the SDK)
adb shell
Now you'll see just a '$'
logcat
You can now just press the power button on your phone to see what happens. It displays everything the device is doing.
This is my first post regarding logcat , so i m sorry for any discrepancy (if there, notify me plz)
P.S - logcat is also useful in case if u r having some trouble wid stock roms
PRESS THANKS IF THIS WAS HELPFUL
Re: [how to] [make a logcat] [noob friendly]

[Q] How To Arrange the application load order (sequence) while Booting?

I serched many threads without getting any fixed solution.
I'll try to make the Question CLEAR/SHORT/Strait forward...
Is there a file within the rooted Android system that can be edited to change the order of the application while booting up the device?
For example:
After you Flash the ROM, if you have installed Application "A" the Application "B" ..."C"...etc.
When the device is booting, some times you find that Application "C" is loaded before Application "A".
What i need is:
Application "A" to be always loaded FIRST then "C" then "B .......etc...
I tried to check "init.rc" and some others without success...
Appreciate any Help, and excuse me for NOOB.
