I second that. It still doesnt work over proxy server in USA tmobile service now. I rather have the good old weather panel application running.
i am not agree.if you have any better idea,why don't ask HTC to change the plugin?

- If you don't like part of the home plug (= weather) remove it by changing its settings
- If you feel the need to alter the home plug, feel free to try and hack it or find a version with more settings; you could possibly provide the altered version to us all
What I'm trying to say is:
These people here are doing their best to find solutions and share them with us, even solutions they don't need themselves, WITHOUT PAYMENT and WITHOUT access to the code ... I'm impressed by what Gullum, h4ma, PDAViet and anyone i forget (a lot of people) can achieve in such a short period with so little resources ...

I must remind you that the work performed the the cookers is not in discussion. Indeed the are doing a very good job to provide us very good WM6 ROM. ans of course, in case you haven't noticed yet, HTC Home is not developed by them, but by HTC that in my opinion haven't done any piece of software that was goos enough.

As far as i have read, i think that it is not a matter of being gratefull with people who works on this things. HTC home plug is made by HTC and the matter is that there are a lot of better applications than XDA WEATHER and hopfully it can be changed. That's all.
Just came to cool things I think we all here respect our XDA geeks!

Excuse me, but I think that this is not the question.....
People here don't doubt about cookers work, only are explaining an opinion about a HTC software...
As far as I know, HTC Weather is not developed for nobody that cooks a ROM, only is included in the ROMS, for this, I thnik that your answer is not correct...

But the one who is speaking about the cookers?. Simply a topic is exhibited to see if we can improve between all. Nobody says that the work of the cookers is not valued, it seems to me that you have not understood what is proposed in this post.
It is basically if between all it is possible to improve the HTC HOME, and in particular the WEATHER.

i use SPB Mobile Shell!
thought it was useful as well, but it does not update when i synch, only when i use wifi it does update. then noticed today it shows a cloudy moon but it's sunny as hell now, and this is after update!! in some ways it does suck

there's no way to improve ****!
++ for SPB weather engine.
I used it in spb weather, then mobile shell, now in spb traveller. I find spb traveller to be the best since it supports weather from many cities and also downloads currency rates and has handy travel tools. just perfect!. Also, it autodownloads weather data at every wifi connect! and it looks nice and clean too...

I found a recent version VGA but I converted to QVGA, you certainly know this software, this version is unlike other tactile versions available to date
Admin edit: software removed after a complaint from the copyright owner, this software is not freeware or shareware and therefore considered warez, warez is not allowed on the forum.

I know, I know...I'm late to the party. Hopefully the quality of the release will make up for the tardiness. I'm still running a Kaiser (just couldn't convince myself the Diamond was actually better--and I'm still crossing my fingers that the Touch HD will get released with TMO 1700Mhz support).
Anyway, without further ado...this version of MusicID is based from the 1.3.16 source from 1800pocketpc.com which is of course released by AT&T. The changes are as follows:
Converted for QVGA (320x240) support. The conversion was done using image resources from the non-touch screen version so they look just fine. Furthermore all fonts have been converted as well. (I'd like to give credit to lepsyfou here, he did give everyone something to use at least even though the images looked poor and the fonts were large. Were it not for finding his original conversion that got me hooked on the app itself I probably never would have made my own conversion).
Removed UID information from query strings. For those that didn't check, the application for download on these forums (and other sites) actually makes all requests under the guise of someone's account (presumably whoever released the app). I won't post their account # here but suffice it to say that if they ever shut off the service everyone using that app would find it stops working. Hopefully that won't happen here.
Removed all AT&T specific features. This also means that all the buttons present after a successful identification have been removed. #1 they are completely useless for anyone not on the AT&T network; and #2 they were pretty much pointless (from my perspective) in the first place. As a side benefit see the next item.
Due to the removal of AT&T specific features I found it convenient to download a larger cover image photo for the album...maybe this will be enjoyed by others as well
Updated the help pages and removed redundant (or now unused) entries.
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
If you've never installed any version of MusicID before simply install the cab. If however you have installed a previous version pay close attention:
Remove any previously installed version of MusicID.
It is absolutely MANDATORY to remove the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\MusicID folder and its contents. If you're an advanced user and are using any of the conn* entries you can leave those but remove all others. If that last statement doesn't make any sense to you then simply remove the entire MusicID key (and all entries contained therein) prior to installation.
I highly recommend removing your \Application Data\MusicID folder and contents. This is due to the fact that the application now expects 150x* size images. The only issue with old images should be a slight off-center display though so it is up to you

Thanks for this. Been looking for an update since moving to the Diamond. Whats involved in migrating to QVGA? Is it an easy process? There are some other apps which would benefit from rework...Skyfire for one!

hello, for some reason i cant access this program unless i go into file explorer and program files. Its not in my map to button list or in my start menu. I appreciate you porting the new version to qvga. Help in this matter is much appriceated.

same here.... but i used Total Commander to copy the MusicID.exe file from the program folder to the Start Menu... and vola! it worked.... was able to place it in my program launcher using Manilla 2D....
i'm sure theres a much easier way.... but hey,.... it works..

Was reading about this last night on Pocketnow.com. tried to installed and got the unsuccessful message. Was in ATT store today looking at the new Samaung epix, just to see what it was about, would never give up my Tilt for it, but is nice and love the cursor, very responsive.
Now if you have a Tilt, not sure about other cells, or maybe if you have ATT device dial from you cell *43# and it should get it for you. Also might look in your start up might get put there.
I love this program. It actutally found a song from a Musical from 1951 while i have my Sirrus on Broadway. Unreal.

Sorry for the late response. Just got around to installing it and while it installed fine, it didn't work due to the cf requirements.
Not sure if this was mentioned already, but there is a type-o in the oneliners.txt
#5 "here" should be "hear"
Also when using this on my VGA phone oly the left top is used for the text in stead of the whole screen, eventhough the application its self is full screen (and working correct)

I am now working with online updating, which means that you can get more jokes by tapping a button and connect to the web. By doing this, people will not need to install the application again and again for more jokes.
- Now it is also possible to copy the current joke to clipboard, and paste it in a sms.

Description: ROM based on the last WM6.5. It has rhodium's manila, and I removed unuseful stuff (like volume control). The SMS/MMS button is modified to change the accent on the last letter while writing (e.g. if you have the word "perche" and you click the button, it will become "perchè"). From that mod the ROM takes the name. The screen is precalibrated (welcome disabled). If it isn't calibrated well for you, you only need to change it in the control panel. This is my first attempt for the touch pro...however...enjoy.

great job! Thanks a lot for having developed a WM 6.5 version which let me use the sliding keyboard (I'm italian and the other ROMs don't recognize the numeric row).
A little question: why did you disable the "Windows default" today plugin? I would like to use it instead of the TF3D2 which is very cool but very heavy....
Well it is totally taken out from the rom. You should look for a cab for it.

I've just flashed this Rom yesterday. Works fine! I have a little problem on the contact tab. When I go to All People, and click it to start scrolling, sometimes it crashed, sometimes it hang. very fast Rom.

I've the same problem. Also, trying to launch the browser from the TF3D2 tab it doesn't work....
i've added a fix for the rom to the first post.
I removed opera to let you make your choice, for that the globe doesn't work. But you can remap the globe to IE or install opera
YouTube Error
When I click on youtube - I'm getting this error -"There is not enough free storage space to run YouTube. Maximum free storage space required is 8mb."
it works for me. have you at least 8mb of free storage as it tells you?
Fix cab
Fix cab for all people (Contact Tab) works fine. I soft reset my device & try youtube again, it works now. Thnx for the fix cab.
Japanese ROM is exhibited.
It is not perfected.
There are some in which Japanese MUI does not exist.
However, since the newest Japanese ROM did not exist, it made.
I am thankful to people of Da_G and others who offered Ervius Kitchen.
(My English is created with translation software. It is very cheaper and shameful.)
-The already known bug
1. The tab of a contact never becomes "#abc" and "アカサタナ."
If someone is known, please teach me a method.
2. Since it is Japanese almost, the portion in which MUI does not exist is English.
3. Since there is "no volume icon" in the expansion icon which will come out if a start menu is clicked, a white Windows flag is displayed.
SMS has installed neither.
If Softbank needs SMS, please carry out additional installation of the "SoftBankMMS_v093.cab."
open connection should carry out instrumental of the above "MMS ...", or should put in "Softbank Connection.cab."
X Although it is written as 05HT, since open connection etc. is not made, I think that Docomo is also possible.

4.スタートメニューをクリックするとでる拡大アイコンに「音量」がないので白いウィンドウズマークが表示される。
いずれも、SMSはインストしてません。
ソフトバンクの方は、SMSが必要ならば「SoftBankMMS_v093.cab」を、追加インストールしてみてください。
open接続は前記の「MMS...」をインストするか「Softbank Connection.cab」を入れてください。
X05HTとは書いてありますが、open接続等は行っていませんので、Docomoも可能と思います。

SMS,MMSのアプリを立ち上げることができません．
「通知」で１件の未読メッセージがあるときは、
通知のメニューから直接メールを見ることができるのですが、
トップの電子メールをタップしてもアプリが起動しませんし、
OutLookにも登録されていません。
何か設定が必要なのでしょうか。

SMS,MMSのアプリを立ち上げることができません．
「通知」で１件の未読メッセージがあるときは、

トップの電子メールをタップしてもアプリが起動しませんし、
OutLookにも登録されていません。

SoftBankMMS_v093.cabですが、インストール後、他人からＳＭＳを受け取る必要が有るみたいですね。
自分の方からは開始できないような...
未熟で申し訳ない。今後に期待してください。
